Really good Russian restaurant in SoHo with modern Russian art inside. Food is relatively authentic. The service was friendly but overwhelmed… there was just one girl serving the whole floor. She was new and everything took just way too long. The share plates are good size to try a lot of things. Olivier is not really traditional taste though - can’t recommend. Overall still great experience and would come again. Golubtsi were the best

The closest you can get to the traditional Russian cuisine in London. It’s authentic and the decor is soviet kitsch. My partner really enjoyed their beef stroganoff and I can highly recommend the sturgeon.

My Russian-Finnish wife says this is as authentic as it gets. So I'll take her for her word for it. As for myself, I loved the lamb dumplings and the salad. Absolutely great food with the astounding contrast of richness (sour cream, fats and fish eggs) and acidity. I have much to learn about Russian food, but this was a good representation of it. Dessert of honey cake and cottage cheese pancake was also a delight.

Best restaurant ever! I went here a while back, but remember my visit fondly. The staff and our waitresses were all very friendly, always with a smile on their face and happy to help out! They weren’t afraid to engage in conversation and give advice on what to order, whilst also respecting your space as you eat. The food itself was heavenly, I ordered classic Russian dishes such as Borscht and the Olivier as my starter and main. The borscht was the best I had ever had, and I’ve had many! It’s taste was so pure and the soup was the perfect texture as well as filling without being sickly. The olivier was perfect , the way the vegetables were cut and the salad’s presentation was beautiful but the taste took it to the next level. At this point I was full, but I ordered a dessert just to take advantage of the time in the restaurant while I could! I believe I had the blinis with jam, which was again just amazing, perfect soft pancakes. I think about this restaurant a lot because the food, the chef, the menu , the presentation of the restaurant itself , the staff and the overall experience was just beyond perfect! A must go whilst in London, please support this wonderful restaurant ! I cant wait to go back and try new things…

Firs time trying russian food and i had an incredible experience. The staff is super friendly and open to help you with suggestions. My suggestion is to have a look at their instagram to see the food pictures before ordering (It’ll help you visually with the menu). Book before go!

Great beef stroganoff! The fish soup with tomatoes considering I don’t usually enjoy fish that much. And the Christmas menu- salmon was decent too. I like that they have a selection of Georgian wines. It was get a bit loud due to lack of noise insulation but I guess it’s Christmas and there are a lot of company parties, so it’s inevitable

I like this place. The food is delicious, the drinks are cool. As a Russian, I can admit that all food is like we cook at home. Even desserts rock. I recommend this restaurant if you want to try delicious food and/or Russian cuisine. If you are vegetarian, you'll feel comfortable here. Staff is welcome, interior is cozy. I like that they don't use gold and posh Russian tzar style interior things because it's not how we look nowadays😊 Zima has delicious hookahs.

Went to Zima around a month ago. Was an amazing experience and I can't wait to go back. Reasonable prices for Russian food as it's fairly hard to come by. And I must say to anyone wanting to try Russian food, don't hesitate! Try it! It's very underrated and not talked about enough. I also found my new favourite dessert from this restaurant. Medovik. Russian Layered Honey Cake. It's to die for! Immaculately light and elegant, full of flavour and I'd go back here just for that with a cup of tea or coffee...or their home-brewed Vodka!

I had a lovely dinner here with a Polish friend, who was able to verify to me the authenticity of these dishes. I thoroughly enjoyed the dumplings, but the highlight for me was the cottage cheese pancakes. The dinner was topped of by the lovely waitress Poliuer, who was wonderfully attentive and introduced the dishes to us.

I've been to Zima a few days ago, the ambiance was delightful, and the service was top-notch, our waitress was very attentive to us. The food was equally impressive, capturing the essence of Russian cuisine. Pelmeni with Lamb is to die for. Highly recommend for a memorable dining experience, definitely will be back soon!

Outstanding Russian food. The chef is a true master. The best of Russian home cooking elevated to an art form. We tried multiple dishes - Olivier salad, Shuba, Pelmeni, two kinds of pirozhki, Borsch. Each dish was exquisite, from ingredients, to the preparation, to the presentation. My partner is not fond of herring, but ate Shuba with delight and appreciation. Service was friendly and impeccable. The pacing of the dishes was perfect. I can’t wait to come back.

Three story affair in the heart of Soho serving fine Russian cuisine. Outstandingly low key service and the food was excellent. Seemed to start filling up quickly. One thing I didn’t care for was the volume of the music. A bit too loud. We ordered 3 starters and fish soup. Also had some dumplings and a vegetarian entree: Draniki. The mushroom gravy was very good. Only fault was the portion sizes were rather small. While the pitcher of strawberry lemonade was grand enough, it did seem a bit pricey as well. So I’m deducting a star. It’s a quandary, bigger portions (for more money) or as is. I’d say it’s more a place to bring a date for an evening out. I’d return, although for lunch.

A really unique experience when it comes to food taste, which I feel many people in London have ever tasted before. I enjoyed the food, but wished I had spent more time researching the menu.

One of my favourite restaurants in London. Food is always delicious and fresh. I’ve had the Pelmeni Sibirskiye a few times now and I will keep coming back for it because they’re the best dumplings ever!! Also tried the Borsch which is lovely with their sour cream as an accent. The Pirozhki with Chicken & Cabbage is super yummy and very comforting. Their pickeled mushrooms are also to die for! Not to mention the infused vodka ♥️ I normally don’t even like vodka but theirs is truly amazing & the flavours are so creative. Staff is always friendly & knowledgable. Would recommend to anyone looking for a new food experience in London.

Great welcoming service. Nice atmosphere. The food experience was altogether good and positive. Pelmeni and vareniki are just top. Olivie salat was ok. Nastoyka set is not bad but not the best. Would come again and would recommend the place esp to those nostalgic about Russian cuisine.

Authentic Russian cuisine in the heart of London. I was very impressed with borsch and herring salad. I grew up eating this stuff so for me it was like going down the memory lane. We also ordered red caviar and blini and a medovik for dessert. Highly recommend!

We recently dined at Zima, I highly recommend this place if you're missing home-cooked Russian meals and great Russian music. The service was fantastic and attentive without being overwhelming. The menu had a good range of authentic Russian dishes that catered to all sorts of palates. The Pelmeni and Beef Stroganoff were amazing, and the dessert menu was especially tempting. The honey cake was an absolute must-have, and I recommend it to anyone who visits Zima, no matter how full you may be! Overall, I had a lovely experience at Zima, enjoying fantastic food and great ambiance. While some may find it a bit pricey, I felt it was worth the cost. After all, the price tag brings the authentic flavor and vibe of Russian cuisine in London. I will definitely return to Zima again to indulge in some delicious home-style cooking

Wow! What a great experience. Really blessed to have such a great representation of Russian food. I have cooked myself a lot but even for me the flavor in few dishes was completely new. I went with my family and we all loved it. My favorite was Olivie salad and the dessert - sirniki. My main was cold which was a shame but I really loved the sauce. Few things what could have been done better is waitresses can wait for a bit before rushing to take plates and more time for bookings. We were rushed to get out of the restaurant after 1.5hours. We booked table for a reason and would like to sit for a bit longer and enjoy the meal. If they could make 2hour bookings that would be great.

My wifey & our friends & Me had a fantastic dinner in the ZIMA Russian Restaurant. Everybody ordered a different plate of food and We say everything is totally amazing. The portion is enough, the taste is gorgeous. The place’s atmosphere is homey. 👍🏻 If You would like to try something different from Russia just go in & order something. Don’t forget the traditional Russian drinks. 😉

a foodie friend in London recommended it, and surprisingly good! The taste is elevated , especially the chicken Kiev. Also highly recommend the Sea berry tea. Heard that vodka selection is excellent and very popular place among young Russians and restaurant owner is well known in Moscow for elevated contemporary cuisine.

I was amazed by this place that I realized how much I missed Russian high quality food. That was the best what I had so far in london. Good value for money and great staff, kind, accommodating and just awesome. Shisha is great as well, highly recommended. I will come back many times and bring more friends.

A really fun little restaurant in Soho that captures traditional and modern takes on Russian cuisine. Service was fantastic and the menu is certainly something to explore. As somebody who loves caviar, this was a real treat to be able to sample so many different types of incredible flavors.

First visit at Zima and it was definitely a pleasant one! A very polite gentleman greeted us at the door and escorted us to the table. We were then waited on by a very charming lady who was extremely helpful on giving advice or answering any queries we might have had. The food was very tasty. Neat and simple plating, nothing pretentious. The price is very accessible and they offer several vegetarian options. The decor is tasteful; quite simple and cosy. Unfortunately we just stopped by for a quick bite, would definitely love to come back and try their vodka selection :)

I've been wishing to visit this restaurant for quite some time after moving to London from Russia. Finally yesterday was the day. Unfortunately, my experience turned out to be disappointing. First of all, there were too many tables which were rather close to each other. In the current situation with the pandemic, I didn't feel safe sitting back to back with another customer and in the middle of a stuffed room. Secondly, the food wasn't great. We did like Shuba salad - it was very nice, but were disappointed with borsch and cabbage rolls. The soup was either too salty or too sour to the point where one can't discern the taste of vegetables. And the cabbage rolls lacked rice - it was basically boiled minced meat in cabbage leaves, and this is not a traditional russian dish called cabbage rolls. Also, the staff is kinda fidgety, with abrupt movements, and a bit aloof, which is not conductive to a pleasant atmosphere. Hopefully, the rest of the dishes are better, and I might come back here and try them when the pandemic is over or on some unpopular day and time.

Very pleased to be served in this restaurant. Very good caviar and traditional Russian food. Only two things can be better next time ,type music and the temperature of wine fridge. Music was very “nostalgic”,can be better the new generations of Russian music and cold wine! Highly recommended.

We went to the Shisha bar upstairs so this review is only for that portion. It is quite expensive where the shisha is 40 quid and the cocktail are 12 each. But if money is not an issue, the experience is very solid. Limited space of 4 so you don't share the space with a lot of people which is a lovely, open terrace. The shisha is strong and proper. The drinks are great and tasty. The dumplings are really good and surprisingly filling for how small they look. Overall, it's a great place to spend some money. I recommend it once a few months maybe.

A fantastic place in the hearth of Soho. Excellent selection of vodkas and infusions, and many different types of Russian food. Plenty of choice for vegetarians, too. Really kind staff (they knew we were celebrating a birthday and they offered a slice of cake!)

I chose this place because I was nostalgic and it had a good rating, so I expected to have good experience. What I received, however, was an EXCELLENT experience and that's still an understatement. The food was absolutely delicious and high-quality, and I don't mean that in a biased Eastern European way, I think anyone would enjoy it. Especially since it's so surprisingly affordable. The staff was attentive and charming, I didn't have to wait for them or my food for too long. Top it all up with an authentic atmosphere and good safety measures (plastic screens and masks)! I highly encourage everyone to start getting to know Russian cuisine right here at Zima. I will definitely come back many times!

The best Russian food in London. I’ve been here a few times before lockdown. Great selection of traditional Russian dishes (just as good as babushka’s food!). Very cheap compared to other restaurants in this area. Staff is always nice and friendly. Looking forward to eating here again.

I grew up eating this cuisine and I can tell you it’s very very good. I was very pleased with everything we ordered - the soup, aubergine special, vareniki and desserts. I also enjoyed the ambiance and the service were both great. I loved the brand consistency in every detail including the takeaway bags, the food presentation etc. Will be back many many times!

Absolutely enjoyed the meals here, from starters till desserts, all so spot on and delicious. Service was very good, staff were very attentive. More importantly, we weren’t expecting the Eat Out to Help Out discount still valid until we were ready to pay, so a really nice surprise to have £10 discount on each person. So go now haha

Always love to come back for "some home-made food". Contemporary place, feels like one of restaurants in Saint Petersburg, has that nice atmosphere. Service is quick, pretty friendly and food is yummi. Always recomend this place to everyone who wants to get acknowledged with Russian food and home made alcohol. Been again in October 2020, covid compliant and great dishes and service!

Terrible experience with a takeaway order. Had double ordered because of an Uber Eats app issue. On reaching out was told that the complaint had to come through Uber Eats. When Uber Eats reached out they were told that the food preparation had begun. Deliberately unethical behaviour to create a double charge. Avoid.

Definitely recommend a visit! We had the most amazing meal earlier this week at ZIMA. Absolutely fantastic dining experience. The food is so much better than any other Russian restaurant in London. My husband had a beef stroganoff and I had a lamb pelmeni which were both excellent and the apple pie for dessert was one of the best I have ever had. The staff especially the management team are a perfect mix of professional and friendly and the atmosphere was so relaxing. We will definitely be returning. Five stars all round.

First time to try authentic Russian cuisine and it did not disappoint. Service and quality was very high. Definitely recommend the Solyanka soup, beef stroganoff and Medovik (layered honey cake). I did also tried the apple pie (nothing too special) and sturgeon fish fillet which was quite small but the cauliflower bed was amazing. Would overall recommend.

It was a nice experience eating here. Their Kiev chicken was amazing! The beef stroganoff was really delicious and the borscht soup was just fantastic. I find prices of some dishes like their pickles and their beef stroganoff not matching the portion you get and also not matching to other dishes’ price. Other than that, a must try if you are around soho!

It was our first time dining at Zima and we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and service. Olivie and lamb dumplings were very nice, and the desserts were so delicious that we had to order some for a takeaway! The atmosphere is cosy, nice interior and music. Our waitress Laura was very welcoming and helpful. Will definitely come again!
