The most breathtaking thing about this restaurant is the decor. It’s like stepping into another world! It’s absolutely stunning. Gorgeous lovely restaurant. A lot of time was taken to decorate the rooms, the walls, the ceilings, the tables. Even the bathrooms. I loved every part of the restaurant. It has an elegant touch of rustic / shabby chic designs. Love it The food!! Wasn’t too keen on the food. Found it really underwhelming. A few things we wanted on the menu was not available and that’s fine but it would have been great for the waitress to mention it to us before we placed orders. It could be that the options we went for weren’t the best ones but the only thing I enjoyed was the complimentary bread and beautifully flavoured butter. The dumplings were very basic and so was the veal salad. The apple margarita cocktail I ordered was too salty! It was truly basic for the standards I expected. Staff were ok but could have been friendlier. It appeared our waitress couldn’t speak English so that could have been a contributing factor. It’s certainly worth a visit for the experience of the environment and for traditional Russian culture but I probably wouldn’t go back.

I’m convinced that the low average rating is only because of “blind Russian-hate” after the war started. Because this restaurant is amazing, incl food quality and service. Also super cozy/unique interior design, relatively authentic dishes and friendly staff. Def recommend Hering with young potatoes and Holodets (холодец)!

The restaurant with the best Napoleon cake on the British territories with a rating less than 5? I'm sorry but this is just ridiculous! People lost their sense of taste.. and probably their minds as well!

Visited Mari Vanna for a friend's birthday and was thoroughly impressed. The ambiance was delightful, and the service was top-notch. A special shout-out to the singer who serenaded us with lovely tunes and even sang a birthday song for my friend. The food was equally impressive, capturing the essence of Russian cuisine. Highly recommend for a memorable dining experience in London.

I’m not sure how this restaurant is ranked so poorly on Google. It’s one of my favorite restaurants in London for the past 10 years as it offers an extraordinary decor, unique food and good service. Yes it’s Russian, yes it’s expensive but it’s one of a kind in London. We ate our usual favorites: khachapuri, beef stroganoff, pelmenis, Russian Olivier salad and a Napoleon cake for dessert. Again, it’s outrageously expensive for what is staple food in Russia; but it’s worth every penny and is by far the best Russian restaurant in London (yes iv tried them all and no I’m not Russian). Russian infused vodka shots at 12£ a shot is again outrageous but delicious. We paid 176£ for two with two alcoholic drinks each. Now if you are still not convinced, then come for a drink only and to see the decoration and atmosphere as it’s worth it. During the winter, they have such nice Christmas decorations with even a Xmas tree in the downstairs room. Love it and will return. Please also note they have a few restaurants in other cities in the world. Note to restaurant: what happened to the baboushka stories being played in the toilets? And please put some heating in the toilets!

Traditional Russian cuisine. The walls are covered in old pictures (which adds to authenticity). Definitely worth a visit especially if you never had original Russian dishes.

I feel that the waiters are not very friendly unless you speak Russian. So I was not dared to order and allow my Russian boyfriend to order for us in Russian. The decor is very interestingly authentic. The food is always good but then again they don’t let us know in advance what food has ran out and we changed our mind right after we order the food within 3 minutes but apparently it was too late to change one dish. Though the food, always check the menu for the price as it wasn’t cheap!

An atmospheric Russian restaurant, which could trigger some nostalgic feelings if you grew up in the 70s-90s USSR. I heard of that place from a few people and was looking forward to coming to see it in person. A friend decided to celebrate his birthday here, so it sounded like a perfect opportunity. We had a large table for 8 people. The staff was friendly and helpful. Some of them were russian speakers, others - not; everyone was polite 👍🏼 The menu has a good variety of dishes - starters, mains, deserts, etc. The food was good, but not fantastic. Nicely presented. My well done steak was too dry. My wife's fish meatballs were uninspiring. Some wines were out of stock, so we had to settle on what was still available. We had our table reserved for 2 hours. As the time was approaching, we were reminded of that. Given the buzz about this place and their prices, I had higher expectations. Overall impression - not a place I could recommend to a good friend. All tables were occupied though, so if you plan to come - book in advance.

Such a great experience, and don't be fooled by the low rating. I highly recommend this place if you want to get immersed in the Russian culture and cuisine. Pro: . Attention to detail on every dish and display of each centimeter in the restaurant. I was amazed by the decorations, tables, chandeliers, even in the toilet you feel the kind of vintage style. . High quality food with little waiting time. . There was live music playing after 7pm. Maybe it happens only on Friday but that made the atmosphere even cozier. . Good place for insta pictures too . Even though the place is small, it doesn't feel overcrowded as there is enough space between tables. Cons: . It can be a bit pricey. Consider you are in Knightsbridge area. . Booking is the main way to get a table for dinner as the place isn't big and gets busy. . Not a problem for me, but consider you might have only 2 hours time for your table. Overall, if you want to get immersed in another dimension, culturally and culinary speaking, this is the place.

Decor and furniture reminds you of old communist Russia. or USSR. It’s extremely well made and a lot of thought put into the just about pitch perfect ambience and decor with exquisite attention to detail. The service can be a bit slow but pleasant and professional. They take the time to explain how the food is prepared and it’s a very easy going restaurant with no pressure to eat quickly and leave. Food was well prepared and hearty and healthy and authentic. The bathrooms is decked out like old communist east europe and from another era. Quite a treat.

The restaurant offers a huge variety of Russian dishes. I had the pastries for starter and beef dumplings for my main. Both were of a really high standard. The ambience of the restaurant is spectacular.

Within walking distance from Harrods, this cosy Russian restaurant is very popular among locals. Russian borscht, dumplings, Kiev chicken are all delightful. Layered cake should always be the dessert of the night for the food lovers. I will return.

My visits to this restaurant left me with a sense of culinary satisfaction and a desire to return. The exceptional food, friendly staff, and delightful atmosphere all combined to create an experience that transcended a mere meal. Though it may be a tad overpriced, the overall package is undeniably remarkable. I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant to those seeking an elevated dining experience that delights the senses and nourishes the soul.

Honestly havent had a decent burger in a long time. I had the giant burger, cheese burger and a scoop. Friendly service - as I walked in one of the ladies who worked there was helping an older fragile man through the door. It was so nice to see that kiwi spirit! My giant burger was yum! Bacon pineapple meat pattie egg lettuce sauce cheese and it was just so good from start to finish. I would pay more for this than burger joints who claim they specialise in burgers. Filled me up! A fulfilling juicy mouthload withholding its flavors and stayed together the whole time. The cheeseburger makes for the perfect size burger for a child! Nice, filling and tasty! Patty, cheese lettuce and sauce! And the chips were mean as! Crispy, hot and good amount of salt! It felt worth my pay too! Thank you for my meal New Asia!

Having been loyal customers for many years, we thought it would be great to order some traditional Russian food to take away, for the whole family for New Year's Eve. After facing multiple issues ordering on the website, and after many attempts to get a hold of the restaurant over the phone, I finally managed to order – 11am collection on December 31st. When we arrived at the restaurant on the 31st, having driven for more than an hour, we were forced to stand outside on the porch in the freezing winter weather. At last, having waited for half an hour (!!) outside, we were let into the foyer, only to wait longer. After some time, the administrator told us that we should come back in 1.5 hours!! Having restrained my emotions and kept my words to myself, I was left with no other option than to wait. When I returned, 1.5 hours later, I was forced, again, to wait outside on the porch for half an hour. It was only at 2.30pm that my order (for 11am) was finally given to me. I wasn't the only one – many others were subjected to the same mistreatment. To really polish off the day, the food was truly below the usual standard – often tasteless, and terribly presented. This experience was simply despicable. The complete lack of customer service, the huge delay and the substandard food truly ruined this New Year's Eve – one that should be filled with joy and hope after a terrible year.

(Translated by Google) Well this .. :) asked for a table for the birthday when making a reservation. And they gave us in the most passable place. The funny thing is that next to it was a pretty empty table with the words "Happy Birthday". We asked the workers and made it clear to us that this is someone else's table. Well, it happens ... Borscht came too salty. Mushroom soup is like water. There were very tasty stuffed cabbage rolls and cheese cakes. I do not know. In general, of course, such impressions ... I expected this a little from a different type of restaurant: D I was somehow late, and probably on the wave of hype when it first opened, it might have been cool and tasty, and we tried better.

(Translated by Google) The establishment leaves much to be desired. I booked a table in advance for 6 pm, at 7:50 a waitress came up and said that in 10 minutes other visitors would come and we needed to leave, a very strange situation. You can, at least, warn in advance. The julienne I ordered consisted of overdried mushrooms and plums. butter, with pressed cheese, which cannot be cut with a knife, it was impossible to eat, there is a lot of mayonnaise in the herring under a fur coat, the peppercorns were peppered (possibly overcooked) because of this strange taste. We spent more than a decent amount and did not enjoy it. Of the advantages, service and interesting interior, compliments from different types of bread.

The service is helpful, when you are exploring the menu, most of them speak Russian which matches the venue, Mari Vanna is a gem, a dining delight, An experience to remember at every bite.

I have tried both the Chinese takeaways as well as the fish and chips. Both are great and what we can expect from a the typical Asian food as well as the shark and tater (aka fish and chips). The place has an atmosphere of efficiency and seems to be a popular place as there signs of well worn surfaces. So if you want a good and large takeaway visit this place.

Mum always loves this place. The decor as we walk in : we step back in time: it's a combination of USSR Russia and 1917 revolution era too the extravagance of the chandeliers combined with memorabilia and trinkets... The music this time was selected differently ( very nice both mine and mums eras). The service was impeccable. The food: холодец was v good, and I.am not a lover of that dish usually. Salad-fresh and tasty...The other food items were good too. This is not our first visit and we keep coming back. Well done to the team and the owners. Thank you for the experience.

This is not a restaurant it is an immersive experience. The decor is out of the charts like you are in your Russian grandmas house fantasy. The food is simple homey stuff, but also interesting and unique as well. If you are thinking this is going to be deep thick stews and Eastern European think again - Russian food is a category all to itself that deserves trying. I could not decide what to get because there were too many choices I wanted. Excellent price for the experience.

As I know or familiar with authentic dishes which are served here, I can truly say this is a great place to try Russian/Eastern European food. Also place looks amazing, how much they squeezed in this Knightsbridge town house! Will be back again!

I can't begin to tell you how amazing a meal we had here the other day. Everything was just above and beyond tasty but their mains (especially the sturgeon) were really just something special. My partner had a glass of amazing red wine (rioja, I believe) while their homemade sour cherry vodka was practically perfect as well. We're very likely to come back for special occasions in the future - they are a little pricey but the quality they deliver means that it's worth every penny.

Excellent place overall - my friend booked a table at the restaurant and also speaks part-Russian, so was able to order from the menu in the language! On first impressions, I though it was very cosy and reminded me of being in someone's house - the room we were in was like a lounge room with tables & seatings - also impressive photo frames, chandeliers and Russian dolls. We ordered several dishes - including sides and there was a starter of Russian bread (Sourdough and Rye from Borodino), butter & salt which is very traditional in the country. The Dumplings I ordered (Ukraine origin) were very tasty - potato & mushroom filling - and the side order of Buckwheat complemented it well. We were too full for dessert, but shared a Russian-style tea instead. I had a Malt drink and also some Cranberry drink (Russian-type). Both the entrance and the toilet area were very decorative and a unique decor - I would definitely come back here again but only for a special occasion (as it was about £30-£40 a head).

Looks like my grandma's living room in the 90's. Food is all Russian and is very tasty. Service also fantastic hospitality staff fluent in both Russian and English.

Met up with friends here for a Christmas party. The food was delicious and the decor was very pretty. The portions were generous, we could barely manage two courses! The staff were helpful and gave some great food recommendations. The only criticism I have is that you can't book through the website, you have to call them or go through Open Table. I will definitely be returning as there were so many dishes I would like to try next time.

I went with a Russian friend so she did all of the talking and knew what to ask for, but the place is cosy and authentic and the food was great! The tea was also fantastic.

we loved the food and the atmosphere, the reviews in Google were mixed so we were not sure because it could have gone either way but we were very pleased. Everything we ate was very tasty, the waiters were very polite , the place looked very homely and I liked the music too. It was Russian but not too loud.

This restaurant screams Slavic vibes… I was extremely surprised I really enjoyed it and the food was very very good. The food had a traditional home-cooked taste, the interior, especially the dining area was very traditional in setup and appearance which was a lovely change from many of the restaurants in London. I would definitely recommend visit here, mainly to experience something different outside the “normal” London dining experience.
