London was awesome this is the best. The best museum I have ever visited and it has a lot of staff about WW2. It's not about all the way to the victory of the red army. It also has a number of tremendous items staff German American and of course Soviet. It recreates in a room perfectly the Reich stag as it was when it fell. It has a lot of souvenirs that the Germans left to the Soviet when they lost the war. And the think that I will not forget was the exhibition is the memorial room which is worthy watching it.

A great museum dedicated towards the World war 2 as per the Russians. It displays the different aspects, scenarios, situations during the War. They also have a different section dedicated to the weapons, tanks artilleries used during the war. It is highly informative once you spend some time reading the descriptions provided in Russian/English at different places in the Museum! Its is great for everyone interested in the history of World War 2 You can easily purchase entry tickets inside the museum. Very well managed as we visited in September 2021.

This place is just magical, loved every minute here. Amazing architecture and iconic landmarks. It is a place that people should visit at least once in a lifetime. I just loved everything about this place. Hope to go back many more times. Here you will find nice places to eat as well. Nice street artists to brighten the place even more. Take your time here, this is one place that you will not enjoy it's full beauty if you are in a hurry. So take your time and explore.

(Translated by Google) This is the museum that everyone should visit! Despite all the outward solemnity, greatness, this is a place of sorrow and memory. We must not forget about those events. I especially advise everyone to visit the "People's Feat" exposition. Well worth your time to visit when in Moscow. Very little is in English, so bring your Google translator. But most artifacts & pictures need no translation - they speak for themselves from the archives of world history.

A spacious garden with fountains and monuements around. The information write up are 95% in Russian, thus losing a star. The audio guide is 320 rubles, but it does not cover everything however I feel it is still worth going for it audio to understand the stories and history behind the pictures.

(Translated by Google) On January 30, we visited a new large-scale exposition "The Feat of the People" with an excursion "Unconquered Leningrad" This is a truly impressive, large-scale interactive project with audio and video materials, sound effects and beautiful 3D decorations. Many thanks for the implementation of such a grandiose project to all its creators and the director of the museum. Exactly such, magnificent in artistic embodiment, exhibitions should be in our museums. But I would like to dwell on some of the nuances. 1. A cool visual range creates a technical paradox of the exhibition: you don't want to leave it, but the museum does not offer you time to stay and study the exhibits on your own. The graphic and architectural solution of the exhibition, large-scale three-dimensional panoramas from the first minutes immerse the viewer in this space and successfully solve the problem of boredom and the usual desire to escape from the exhibition at the sight of mothballs and small fonts. But now the interested listener has no temporary opportunity either to examine all this space in more detail, or to use interactive screens for a broader and deeper study of the topic. He simply runs "at a gallop across Europe" for a guide. As for our visit, we left the exhibition in 1.5 hours instead of the 2 stated in the ticket. 2. Besides such a hasty acquaintance, I was surprised by the strange use of technology. So, in the hall about culture in besieged Leningrad, the guide tells about the "7th symphony" by D. Shostakovich, and in the speakers they play the song "The Holy War" by A. Alexandrov. An uninitiated person will naturally associate The Holy War with Shostakovich. And it is sincerely incomprehensible to me why, possessing such powerful technical means, to create such incorrect connections in the audience? 3. Now to the confusion when buying tickets online. Pricing information should be presented without discrepancy so as not to create unnecessary tension and irritation for the visitor. There is absolutely no need for a visitor to begin acquaintance with the Victory Museum with negative emotions. For example, in the description for the "Feat of the Army" sightseeing tour, it is directly indicated that it is necessary to buy an entrance ticket. And in the description for the exhibition "Feat of the People: Unconquered Leningrad" nothing of the kind is stated. Why shouldn't the technician in charge of the site enter a phrase in the description of the excursions and on the online purchase page that “additionally you need to buy an entrance ticket to the Main Building” for all excursions where necessary. Or immediately sell tickets for excursions with an included admission ticket at prices in accordance with the categories. And thus not to create unnecessary confusion, hustle and bustle and waste of time buying additional tickets on the spot. So, on our excursion, a woman with two children had tickets only to the exhibition, and when buying entrance tickets at the box office, one of them was sold to her with the date the next day and the turnstiles did not let them through. (But everything ended well.) We paid an additional 600 rubles to the allocated budget for visiting the museum. By the way, a ticket to the Main Building gives you the opportunity to go out and re-enter the museum, at least that's what the employee told us at the turnstile. We have not tested. This is good and logical, since toilets, cafes and souvenir shops are located at the entrance to the turnstile line. As a result, I definitely recommend the new interactive exhibition to visit, but with the general excursion "The feat of the people".

(Translated by Google) For me personally, for my circle of development and perception of the environment, the Poklonnaya Mountain and the Victory Park itself, the museum included in it, are collectively some kind of sacred place or something, historical as it really is and every time endowing with patriotism ( just don't say that patriotism is either there or not) .. I myself am not a local, but from the moment of construction, the construction of the first structures available for visiting (1995), at every convenient opportunity, I won a moment to, again, visit them .. Recently, I have the opportunity to receive guests from my small homeland in the capital, I have conditionally moved .. First of all, upon arrival in Moscow, the people naturally beg for a cultural mass, I am taking it not to Red Square, but to a "bow" .. So that the history of people soak, and perhaps feel, live in their eyes the very feelings that I myself feel, walking and staring at such a significant and majestic cultural site of Russia and far beyond its borders .. And so, the conversation will go far not about the historical value of sowing "institutions", but about the attitude of the working people there .. Yes, I'm used to mistaking white for white, black for black, maybe this is not entirely correct and somewhere in between there is gray .. To business!) - A comrade comes from the Motherland, despite the weather, and the complete absence of people in the park area, we decide to naturally visit the museum .. Be vigilant comrades, cashier 002 Bugakova V.N., tends to make a mistake, to break through the service you need not at par , but for a song, i.e. in the column "Type of service: entrance to the main building", we had a price - FREE! Literally a couple of meters away from the cash register, realizing that they are frankly making a fool of us, we turn around - (I quote: - "How could I have pressed in the wrong direction ?! The views of the neighboring operators spoke for themselves, there shouldn't be a mistake! In quotes). these ill-fated 300 rubles, but the sediment remained) Fair?! Tsepanulo! Well, I would have asked a question, asked, maybe I saw the province, and then head-on and with frank eyes! NOT Moscow, it won't give a ride! Fundamentally! There is no photo with the "priceless checkpoint", they will figure out who needs it in time and operations .. It's horror! There would be another platform, we can put it in a slightly different way, but here excuse me for the syllable) V.N. hello! Н.

English: If you visit Moscow you can not leave without visiting this site! I recommend visiting the museums. There are several types of tickets and I recommend buying the mixed ticket (ENTRANCE TO THE MAIN BUILDING AND OPEN AREAS OF THE MUSEUM). At the back of the park you will also find the area of the open-air museum where you will find war machines that were used in the war. It is an experience that you can not miss! The National Museum of History of the Great Patriotic War in Russia (corresponding, in the Eastern Slavic tradition to the Second World War 1941-1945) is a memorial commemorating the sacrifices of the peoples of the Soviet Union during the Second World War. It is located on Mount Poklonnaya, one of the highest points of Moscow. The first monument placed on the site was a granite stone monument, in 1958, and the park was inaugurated in the early 1960s. The construction of the museum itself did not begin until after 1985, and the first exhibition was inaugurated eight years later. The total opening took place on May 9, 1995, coinciding with the 50th anniversary of Victory Day of the Allied forces of the Second World War on the German forces. The obelisk in front of the museum is 141.8 meters high, which represents the 1,418 days of the war. A bronze figure of Nike, the Greek goddess of victory, is mounted at a height of 100 meters, and a statue of St. George killing a dragon is at the base.

The most impressive WW2 museum i have been to without a doubt. It's huge, and there are a number of great dioramas, interactive exhibitions and a 3D movie shown inside a huge domed room. The best parts are inside the museum, but the outdoor exhibitions are also definitely worth a visit, especially if you are interested in WW2 vehicles.

Spectacular!! Interactive museum. Many things to see. Very good war scene demonstrations. Outside area in an amazing park with war tanks, airplanes, helicopters, bunkers and ships. You can spend a whole day in the museum and in the park with war monumets and statues. You can rent bikes and buggies etc. Nice view from top. During dark fountains are amazing in the red lights :)

This museum celebrates the USSR's effort in the Great Patriotic War (WWII) 1941-1945. Conceived in the dying years of the Soviet Union to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the war, it takes a very different approach to storytelling compared to what one might be accustomed to in Western Europe. This is an unabashed celebration of the titanic war effort of the Soviet people during WWII, and there is no effort to conceal its purpose and intentions. The scale is grand, and the lower floor is dedicated to the milestone battles on the eastern front (from Moscow to Stalingrad to Leningrad), depicted via dioramas with sound effects. There are not many artifacts, in line with the purpose of the museum. The upper floor houses a gigantic room with an allegory of the Red Army (make sure to see the 360 degree movie shown at the top of the hour) and a diorama depicting the fall of Berlin and the assault on the Reichstag. The contribution to the war effort from other nations are largely not mentioned (except for a lonely bust of De Gaulle). There's even a timid acknowledgement of Stalin's crimes during the Purges. A must see, useful to understand the Russian perspective on war storytelling.

(Translated by Google) Complete disappointment with the Museum. The main thing is that it is impossible to get to the interactive exposition "The Feat of the People" without a mandatory excursion. Well, listen, why should I pay an additional 500 rubles (although okay, ok, I'm ready) and still listen to the excursion, which lasts 2 (two) hours. There is not as much space as the exhibition itself. And 2 hours will be tiresome for any person. And so I wanted to get in and see. Now for 300 rubles you get dioramas and performances of some children with songs on the second floor. Those who are eager to still visit the new exposition must pay another 500 rubles. So whoever wanted to see the destroyed Reichstag, now does not have this opportunity, unfortunately. The staff are all polite, which is pleasantly pleasing, and in dioramas they began to include sound accompaniment (this was not the case before).

Authentic items and material and great paintings on the liberation of key cities in Europe including the Leningrad and Stalingrad blockade. However, expect Russian patriotism - they are really proud of their military achievements. Museum areal is very big and it takes several hours to get the full experience. The basic entry ticket is around €5. Accompanying texts are translated into English but some of the authentic material were only in Russian. The museum is open late till the evening. On Saturday it closes at 21:30, therefore you can also plan it for the late afternoon.

This museum, which opened in 1995, is home to the world’s biggest permanent collection dedicated to the Great Patriotic War (WWII), spread over 14,143 square metres (152,000 square feet) of exhibition space. In addition to the permanent collection, which includes weaponry, vehicles, war-time photographs, and newsreels among other items, this museum plays host to illuminating temporary exhibitions. More than anything else, the Museum of the Great Patriotic War is an exceptional visual experience – from the luminous Hall of Glory to the heart-wrenching Hall of Remembrance to immersive 3D dioramas, all of which let you revisit the toughest battles of WWII.

One of the best museums in Moscow!! This is definitely worth a trip to see. It is a beautiful and informative museum. Plan on spending a whole afternoon or more here as there are 4 floors FILLED with memorabilia, dioramas and displays. There is also a theater. When you are in this museum it feels like you are in a different world, it truly takes you to a different mindset where you develop a greater appreciation for the War and all those who died. There is also a beautiful outside area. I still think back to this museum often as one of my favorite places I have been! This museum is also completely wheelchair accessible with accessible toilets!
