Vladimir Zvorykin Statue

Historical landmark

👍👍 The monument to one of the creators of television, V. Zvorykin, belongs to the category of so-called small urban plastic art, which I really love. The figure of a man standing on the shore of the Ostankino pond, leaning with one hand on the body of an antediluvian television is one of the attraction... The monument to one of the creators of television, V. Zvorykin, belongs to the category of so-called small urban plastic art, which I really love. The figure of a man standing on the shore of the Ostankino pond, leaning with one hand on the body of an antediluvian television is one of the attractions of Ostankino. The location, in my opinion, was chosen simply ideally: behind the back is the water surface of the pond (in winter - ice and snow) and the TV tower, on the right is a complex of television center buildings, and Zvorykin is looking at the ancient temple and Sheremetyevsky Palace. The monument is human-sized; if you wish, you can easily say hello to it, ask how things are going, and talk about the events of your life. Even in bad weather, people crowd around Zvorykin. People smile, take pictures of friends and children “on TV” as a souvenir. It seems to me that this kind of art objects decorate the face of the city and make it memorable. And the name of a worthy person, an engineer, an inventor, receives its share of attention in the memory of the townspeople.

An interesting monument 😊 Even at first I didn’t understand that this was not a living person, but a sculptural composition. The figure of the inventor is almost two meters made of bronze, and the TV is made of marble. Today the monument is not in very good condition, but you can and should take a photo 😊 The composition was opened on July 29, 2013, on the day of the 125th anniversary of the inventor.

A nice monument to the inventor of modern television on the shore of the Ostankino pond near the Ostankino television center. Installed on July 29, 2013 on the day of the 125th anniversary of the inventor. The work of sculptor S. Goryaev and architect A. Tikhonov. The figure of Zvorykin is cast from bronze, and the TV is made of marble. If you stick your head into the TV, you get a great photo. I advise you to visit this place of interest, you won’t regret it...

A monument to the “father” of modern television, an American(!) of Russian origin, Vladimir Kozmich Zvorykin, on the shore of the Ostankino pond next to the Ostankino television center.

This place is loved by the residents. Today, while walking around the Ostankino pond, I observed how visitors were taking pictures near the monument. This monument is the landmark of this place.

The monument is beautiful, but it doesn’t feel particularly majestic. Also, the pond and the Ostankino Tower nearby create a very good view. By the way, if you show your imagination, you’ll get a good shot. If you sit down and photograph the tower, it’s as if the Onstankin Tower is on TV))

👍👍 Nice place to spend evening In the 18th century, the Russian nobility came to regard the Arbat as the most prestigious living area in Moscow. Almost completely destroyed by the great fire of 1812 associated with Napoleon's occupation of Moscow, the street required rebuilding. In the 19th and early 2...
