Bánh khọt Cây Tre

Restaurant Cafe

👍👍 A hidden gem for the most popular dish of Vung Tau! I used to stick to Cay Vu Sua which is the OG, but I never came back since the day I was introduced to Cay Tre. It’s just not as crowded because not a lot of people know about it. And it’s just not as oily because it’s not literally covered in oil...

This was my first experience with Banh Khot. I wasn't at all excited about it thinking that it was just prawn on a batter. Was I wrong! They served a large plate of lettuce, thai basil, shreds of green papaya and other vegetables, along with rice paper wraps. It was extremely delicious, especially with the dipping sauce. The owner showed me how to go about making a Banh Khot wrap. I chose option #2 from the menu 70,000 dong. It was very filling.

Went cause of the reviews and my hotel was across the street. Wasn't given a menu and so I just showed a picture of what I wanted. Not sure if I was given the right amount of the banh knot. Anyway the first couple were decent but then as I ate more the novelty of it being new to me wore off. They are too greasy and don't have much flavor. Even wrapping them in the greens didn't help much. Got charged 55k for the meal. Not sure if I got the tourist price or what.

Great place. The food is very good. They are the best at the making this dish. They now make it with gas instead of charcoal, whick make it even better, as the base is crunchier. The prawns are big size compared with other restaurants. I don't give it a 5 stars because the coffee was not great, it was a bit watery. But the food is 5 🌟

Bánh khọt is really good. Popular for local rather than traveller. Fish sauce need to improve. Shrimp is fresh

The best Bánh Khọt in Vũng Tàu. Simply authentic taste and amazing quality. Don’t go to Goc Cây Vú Sữa store anymore as they are over crowded that they are completely compromised with quality of service and taste.

Great food. Priced competitively. One of the more delicious bánh khọt I've had so far in the area - had the shrimp and squid. Perfectly crisp outer rim with a creamy, rich center. Fresh, crisp veggies. Open, enjoyable space. Prices listed up front. Did not get sick from the ice or raw veggies. Recommend visiting. Will come again

We had breakfast here. Great way to start the day. We had a large group so was able to order different banh khot, otherwise it would be quite sickening if you just had just one flavour to eat. If you haven’t eaten this before, you might find it quite oily, but that is normal.

The banh khot is crispy and inside is soft. The squid and shrimp is very fresh. So far this is the best I ever eat. Not alot of people know the hidden gem. Recommended must Try before you left vung tau. No regret! 60k-65k per set.
