One of the best places that we visited during our trip. The kindergarten is so well preserved, full with toys, clothes, newspapers from the period before the accident. In the basement there are jars with compot. The atmosphere is really dark and sad. Infront of the building we have measured around 16mSv/h gamma radiation. It looks like that it was a hot-spot. The only two things left from the Kopachi village are the kindergarten and Red army monument, everything else is destroyed and buried.

I notice that the translation calls these photos a War Memorial. It's not that! It's a record of the collective efforts of ordinary people to limit the reach of the explosion in the nuclear reactor here. We were on a very informative and moving tour of the Chernobyl exclusion zone. It lasted all day. There was an excellent guide who spoke to us in English. We ate a lovely lunch and we were driven around in a small group of other English speaking tourists. We had a chance to witness the personal cost of the nuclear disaster for the workers and citizens of northern Ukraine.

This place is also part of the Chernobyl Tour. It is such an emotional place and we should all honour those people who lost their lives there to prevent a bigger accident! The guides of the tour will also take a group picture there!

Abandoned kindergarten with old kid's lockers, beds and toys. You'll likely stop there if you take a tour to Chernobyl. Quite a scary place with all the old, half destroyed and broken stuff but gives you an idea of what it looked like 25 years ago.

The kindergarten in Kopachi is a very classic stop for all tours in the exkclusion zone, the condition of the building is getting worse.
