This is the 7th Vacation Club property I have stayed at. These rooms are by far the most spacious and best layout of the other places. The master bath is great. I love the shower. The walkout to the balcony provides incredible views. The negative to this resort is it doesn’t have beach access nor does it have a bar. Honestly Costco and Target are 2 miles away and both display a wide variety of beer, liquor and wine. We went to the ocean twice, but preferred the pool. The ocean was rough and weather hit or miss for the 6 days we were here. Also if you think of the main road going around Kauai as a U, the resort is in the bottom right of the U. You are at most a 45 minute drive to anywhere on the island.

GORGEOUS! We absolutely LOVED our 2 bedroom villa. The workout center was pristine. The daily activities by the pool for kids and adults was so much fun and the staff from groundskeepers to the concierge were so friendly and helpful. Absolutely recommend staying here. Full disclosure, my aunt and uncle are Marriott members, not myself and my husband. I believe you have to be a member to stay here. We stayed as guests of and with my aunt and uncle.

Nice rooms but the buck stops there. Of the 3 Marriott vacation club locations on the island, this is the weakest offering. The location is the same as the neighboring Marriott but this one has no amenities and a pool that is kinda laughable compared to the other 2 Marriotts. And you don't have beach access! The location is right by the airport so litter and noise pollution will be prevalent. The place is clean but I would avoid this Marriott at all costs. The other 2 options far and away exceed the offerings here at the Lagoons. I can't imagine this place lasts much longer without something changing. The cost is way too high to justify the offerings here.

The room was amazing with the accordion style doors to patio. No restaurant, and more importantly no bar, on site. That's solved by close restaurants or nice kitchen where a husband can cook for his wife and a great fridge for bevvies. Bathroom had large showers and place looked new/newly updated.

The room is generally clean and well maintained (kudos to the housekeepers). And it is great to have washers inside room. However, the front desk service is below the expectation. No recognition or greetings for Platinum members at all. No upgrade or late checkout for Platinum members as well, even though from the Marriott app it is clear that the hotel had plenty of available better room at checkin time. Basically the front desk didn’t offer any benefits to Marriott elite members. The parking is also a problem. The hotel charged a $15 parking fee, yet there is no enforcement (e.g., parking permit, car registration) to parking at all. Basically anyone even not the hotel guest could park there for free with no problem at all. As a result all the available spots near the hotel were taken, and we need to park far from the room in a heavy rain/storm weather without an umbrella, which is certainly not a good experience. It is not acceptable to just charge parking fee and don’t provide any service to facilitate easy parking for guests.

Great location. Next to a beach, a golf course (a spendy one), and there are shops about a 15 minute walk away. Staff was very polite. The pool was fun, it has a waterslide and my son loved it. There were plenty of daily activities to pick from. My son's favorite was bamboo fishing. The view is beautiful. The rooms were amazing and comfortable. The only complaint I have is air conditioning was turned off for a day And, the water was turned off for a day because of a mainline break. However, the hotel was prompt with providing water bottles and solving this issue.

We stayed in an owners unit. This made the stay that much better as everything in his place was first class. Looking over the 14th green and 15th fairway into the harbor was quite the view. This kind of place is pricey 500 to $600 a night. 2 weeks of paradise was fantastic at this resort.

This place was beautiful!!! We loved this place and all of the amenities were wonderful. The service on the other hand was not good and the people were very unpleasant when checking in. The check out time was super early I've never had a check out time of 10am before, so we were a little late checking out and we were down right harassed to leave. It was very expensive to stay at this place.

Soggy bed causing lower back pain. No one answered our phone calls at 1 am when we couldn't make the guest next door to be quiet.

This Marriott is definitely more for the adult side than the kid side. I recently stayed there and there wasn’t much to do for a child. Also the view I got wasn’t the best, other than that it was an amazing resort and I had an amazing time in Kauai.

I'll start with the negative. The rooms need to be renovated and cleaned properly. I unferstand that there is a labor shortage on the island. Our couch was dirty, and I had to have them come and shampoo it while we were there. Our dishwasher kept leaking. The crazy part was that a maintenance man acknowledged it had a broken seal and the dishwasher needed to be replaced. The manager basically said that I was lying and that it was no longer leaking after we checked out, which made my request for compensation with Bonvo points essentially void. Um sir, where did the water on the kitchen Floor come from every time the dishwasher ran? The hardware used for cabinets in the bathroom were corroding. As much as I pay for maintenance fees, I expect everything to be in top condition. Also, Troon owns all of the property surrounding the Kauai Lagoons and a lot of it is poorly maintained and there are abandoned buildings right by the lagoon itself. It is an eyesore. There is a walking path that could take you closer to the ocean and beach; however, this is a part of Troon's abandoned property and it is blocked off. The 2 bedrooms only have 2 full bathrooms. They do not have a half-bath like many of the other vacation club 2 bedrooms do. This makes the unit feel smaller than it actually is. We had 5 in our party (4 adults and a child) and we felt cramped. Now, the positive. The location is great. It is right down the street from the airport! I loved that! It is also very close to Lihue for grocery shopping and other amenities. Do know that you do not have beach access, and there isn't an easy way to get there. That wasn't a big deal to me. I didn't go to Kauai to lounge on the beach every day. If you want to go, you have to go to Marriott's other property down the road. The resort is small and quiet, which makes for a more intimate experience. I don’t care for huge resorts. The recreation room is fantastic, and my son loved going there to play games. The resort activities are enjoyable, especially fishing. The staff is great and very helpful, except the one manager. And the lanais--the doors fully open. It is amazing. The best lanais I've seen in my 4 trips to Hawaii. I would return to this property again, only next time I would get a 3 bedroom if we travel with my parents or another couple like this time.

The Marriott Kauai Lagoons is a fabulous resort. It is beautifully designed and maintained. The staff are friendly. The bedrooms and living quarters are spacious. They have complimentary daily activities every half hour. We did bamboo pole fishing and a fabric flower craft and enjoyed breakfast smoothies and shaved iced. The lagoon pool is amazing. The only downside is that there is no beach access close by.

Awesome views, the landscaping is spectacular, the rooms (we had a 2 BR) are big and clean. We had a view of the pool and the bay which was stunning. This is a calm and relaxing resort in a secluded area of the Island surrounded by a golf course, the bay, lagoons another Marriott resort and, oh yeah the Airport. Even though the place is near the airport, it is not a very active airport so it really isn't an issue. The staff is great as well. The one thing this is NOT is a beach resort. They do have beach chairs available to take to other beaches but there is no beach here. Since it is a Hawaiian resort you might assume there is a beach. There is no beach. However, knowing that going in you can find other beautiful beaches on the island. You are allowed to use the beach at the other Marriott resort down the street, but since this fair skinned Irish lad needs shade, without an umbrella, this was not an option for us. Also, there is no restaurant or bar on premises. This is not that uncommon for Marriott Vacation locations. We have stayed in two other locations that were also sans bar and restaurant, Tucson Arizona and Absecon NJ, but still it would be nice to have a pool bar. Not sure why they don't, as there is plenty of room for one. All-in-all, if you set your expectations based on what this place does NOT have, it really is a lovely place. Very lovely, in fact.

Get it together Marriott!!!!! My parents were required to go to a time share meeting at the neighboring sonesta hotel so my boyfriend and i went to their beach and pool area. i was harassed and threatened by a security guard named dexter because we apparently were not allowed to use the pool or beach chairs since we were not guests. then why have the MANDATORY meeting at the sonesta in the first place? and what do you expect people’s adult kids to do while the parents are in a multiple hours long meeting? The managers were at least apologetic but still made for an unpleasant experience. They should’ve given us day passes for the pool or communicated to the sonesta.

Loved staying here, great location! Great views, on the downside they have had incomplete construction on the frontside, (does not obstruct balcony view)for a very long time w/no activity moving forward. I will go back

Beautiful location and a villa with lots of annoying issues that indicate an institutional failure of regular maintenance. We traded points for a 3-bedroom villa for 9 nights, and were assigned villa #1421, the prime top floor location. None of these issues required urgent addressing, but here they are: (1) Open the dishwasher, and both the drawer and tray come rolling out on their own (leveling issue). (2) Convection oven fan was broken (we didn't notice until we had already used it twice). (3) Cooktop control labels were peeled and you couldn't tell what controlled which burner. (4) Articulating patio door was broken (misaligned). (5) Multiple kitchen cabinet hinges were worn out or broken. Self-closing hinges wear out! (6) Dresser drawers in the master bedroom jammed. (7) Loose toilet paper holders. TAKEAWAY: Does anybody inspect the villas for maintenance issues? Two more general issues: Elevator #1 has a loose instrument panel, which actually fell off one time when we were in it; the WiFi has been upgraded, but reception around the pool is really bad (are the access points in the villas?). Final disclosure: I'm an owner at Kalanipu'u, and it pains me dearly to write this. We just received our after-visit email survey, and will be providing them with these details (in 2000 characters or less). I received a mid-stay email survey and submitted some of these complaints, and the response was a reply email asking "Gee, can we do anything to help?" Probably an automated reply, because there was no follow-up phone call or knock on the door. It was too late in the stay anyway - we didn't want maintenance people coming into the villa to fix cabinet hinges. If this is how an owner is treated, well.....

Absolutely beautiful! incredible flowers plants, multi-level pools. Jordan is amazing as Concierge!, so helpful. has time to explain anything. even calls for reservations! She even called us before we arrived. I saw downgrades for airplanes, this is nonsense. Had a few helicopters midday (10), planes barely hear. Rooster here but not like all over the island, and lots of bird life. Nicest kitchen of all marriott vacation clubs! The fold back whole patio doors are incredible. room for 8 on private glassed & covered patio! You see a bit of construction on adjacent property but it does not affect anything. Gorgeous mountains behind and have been looking at clouds of rain with intermittent sunshades all afternoon & eve! Golf course winds thru, very few playing. The ocean waves hitting the rocks in distance is soothing. Lovely!

We enjoyed our stay here and would book it again. It does require having a rental car, but you could say that for most places if you plan to truly explore the island. It would be nice if they get on the same page with Timbers and help guests navigate to the shoreline walk by the golf course, which is allowed even though someone at the desk made it seem taboo.

This is our first time at this property and after visiting several other Marriott Villas, this is the nicest. The rooms have more space, larger laundry area and they have the double sliders which open your entire room up to the patio. The staff was polite and also demonstrated excellent customer service when we asked for items for the villa.

The 3 bedroom suite was very roomy. Views were amazing, landscaping exquisite, pool & barbeque area was well kept. Kitchen, living room, bathroom, balcony area was perfect enough for our whole family to have meals & enjoy each others company. It was a nice weekend get away with the family. Weather was nice & sunny. Everyone relaxed & had an amazing time together. Thank you Kalani Puu

If you're a plane-spotter, this is the place for you! You will watch all sorts of planes take off and land all day and night long because the Lihue airport runway is less than 1,000 feet from this "resort" (look on goole maps before booking). You will see and hear planes taking off all day and all night. Helicopter tours fly low over the hotel starting at 8 AM. If you are not a deep sleeper, you won't sleep at all while you are here. No Restaurant or bar on site. The pool is small, filled with "families" pounding alcohol and smells like many people are too lazy to go back to their rooms to do their business. Lots of screaming children everywhere. Over a mile from from the closest tourist-trap amenities, so you have to drive to do anything at all. But the rooms are very nice, that has to be said.

So beautiful. Great place to watch the sunsets. Not crowded. It is a long drive from anything but worth it.
