The Dole Plantation is overall a pretty fun experience. To begin, the Dole Plantation is an upfront free experience, but you can pay more to enjoy attractions like the guided train tour, garden, and maze. With regards to getting a place, there is ample amounts of parking, at least when my family and I went, so l wouldn't worry too much about getting a spot. Furthermore, you can't buy tickets online, so they're sold on a first-come-first-serve basis. Looking back on the excursion, the train ride was definitely worth it, however the maze and garden were a miss. I may recommend the maze-train package if you have kids, otherwise I'd stick to the train. In hindsight, since our group was older, we thought only the guided train tour on the Pineapple Express was amusing. It's a relaxing train tour that teaches you a little history on pineapple growing in Hawaii and you get to see a variety of tropical fruits like bananas, coconuts cocoa, coffee, sugar cane, and more. If you want to spend money, I'd try the Dole Whip because it's a unique experience. They have limited outdoor seating so make sure to get a spot and enjoy the cool treat under the sun. Overall, a fun experience, but not a must-see site by any means.

This is heaven for all pineapple lovers.🍍 It's an attraction for the whole family, a maze, a train for kids, an extremely tasty pineapple Dole whip, a gift shop and a great stop on your way around the island. It is very nice here, they take wonderful care of it, but there are a lot of people here, you have to be prepared for that. There was no problem with parking, we didn't even have to wait long for ice cream. It's definitely worth a stop.

Great stop on the way to the North shore… it is a drive away but totally worth it. The small gift shop has a lot of cool snacks and gift ideas . If you get hungry there is a lot more then just the soft whip pineapple dole ice cream to eat. I would recommend on taking the short tour on the Pineapple Express train not only for the ride but also the cool facts and information that you learn on the way. But if the ride is not your thing taking a walk on the garden maze is a lot of fun.

Worth the visit! Food was excellent. We planned to do the train and the maze but the train took longer than we thought so skipped the maze. Took almost an hour from starting to wait for the train (after buying tickets) to when we were on the train. Then another 30 or so minutes on the train itself. The train was calm and relaxing and gave you a good history. My young kids weren't as excited as I thought they would be. Still a nice visit!

Definitely recommend, perfect for everyone. A day trip, couples, families, etc. The pineapple maze and train ride are educational and fun. Well worth the trip and the restaurant to showcase the natural and delicious pineapple flavor. You have to try the Dole pineapple whip and so many goodies including the different flavor shortbread cookies and chocolates. Don't forget to check out the unique jewelry and handmade crafts!! Thank you for a wonderful visit...

What an amazing tourist attraction to learn the history of the Dole Plantation. It's great for all ages. The shop is super cute. The ice cream is a must try. I highly suggest going when it's not too hot. We couldn't do the maze because we would have melted out there. But train ride was worth it and educational.

Here are my immediate suggestions. If you are visiting with a large family, there are lines here. One of the most sought after attraction is the train ride where you ride by various plants and harvests. With the nature of how many people there are and the train moving at train speeds, you should visit as early as possible and make time of about 4 hours to go through everything without rushing. The world's largest maze is also an option, but we waited for so long for the train (about 2 hours) that we just wanted to head back into town. Mind you, we were there pretty early. To summarize, the plantation is a huge history trip with some pineapple cutting events and cocoa events. With this being said, that is the most exciting minus the whip ice cream and gift shop. There is also a coffee shop and a fast food burger spot.

We got the Train + Garden combo. A train arrived every 10-15 minutes and we waited about half an hour to onboard the train. It was a great experience that the train moved really slowly and it passed by many different fruit plantations. The garden was small but beautiful. It was worth a visit too.

We visited the Dole Plantation as a quick stop and for lunch. The train ride throughout the plantation was very nice. Lots of different crops growing in the fields. I would definitely recommend the train ride. Although the line may look very long, it does move quickly. We did not do the maze or the gardens. We do see the gardens on the train. Lunch was excellent and pretty reasonably priced. Dole whip is a must!!!!!!! Gift shop is very big and lots of really nice souvenirs. We spent about 2-3 hours and felt it was plenty of time. Tickets cannot be reserved and have to buy in person on the day you visit. I would recommend getting there around the time they open as it was very busy when we were leaving. It’s free to enter and just have to pay for train, maze and gardens.

Nice place to spend time with the family. Good information about the pineapple cultivation and dole history. The dole whip ice cream was good. There was some waiting time for the express train. The train takes you across the farm which shows the pineapple plants and lots of other vegetation. They also have a man-made lake for water storage for the plantation. The maze is a good option to spend time with the family. You need at least 2 hours to finish the maze. The garden has nice colorful plants. Recommend to take great pictures. Overall a nice place to visit in Oahu Hawaii. If you visit all attractions then you can spend 4 hours here. The gift shop is huge and has lots of options. So check out the gift shop. There are no advance tickets so go there and buy the tickets.

Great experience. Did the maze. Watch out for giant snails on the trail! If you're not careful, you could easily step on one. Entry is free but the maze costs a reasonable price; i think it was $7. The Dole Whip and candied nuts were delicious and I'd say they're a MUST when visiting.

Great spot but I wouldn’t go back. The workers are friendly and sweet, the dole whip was good but not my favourite. It’s a bit on the sweeter side. The garden tour was alright, you walk through the garden and enjoy the pond which is seen in the last photo. The pineapple tour was probably my favourite but the line took almost about an hour or more just waiting in the sun. And I thought we went early, we arrived at around 10am on a weekday. I would suggest saving your time and money and going somewhere else if a friend were to asked for suggestions.

This place was a very good past time. The treats that they offer are pretty nice (try the Dole Whip with Pineapples). We also went through the 🍍 Maze which was pretty cool. They also have a train that goes around and shows you the history of the pineapples but we didn't get a chance to do that due to the wait time being too long. Overall, very good place to check out.

Beautiful vast plantations of pineapples, bananas, cacao, sugarcane and many more fruits and flowers. Options to see this on the Pineapple Express Train, a Pineapple Garden Tour, and a fun corn maze too! The train ride had a wait time of 30 minutes for us but took lesser than that. A shaded area with ceiling fans as we wait for our train ride. Very nice gift shop with many memorabilia to purchase. You can also enjoy some Dole whip cup or cone inside the gift store; some delicacies outside as well. Overall, a fun place for a family or a group of people!

We really enjoyed our stop here, wish we would have planned more time to be here. The lines for food and tickets are quite long, so be prepared and get there early. The food was quite good, and of course the Dole Whip is amazing! The candied nuts from the small kiosk are really good too. Fresh pineapple steals the show though! I’ve never had pineapple this good, not even close. Definitely catch the pineapple cutting demo, and try some pineapple with Li Hing powder (plum based powder) added. I wish we would have shipped some pineapples home, it was so disappointing eating one locally when we got home. My kids really enjoyed the souvenir shop too, there was a really wide variety of mostly reasonably priced items. The pineapple scented candles are amazing, but they burn really fast, so watch out. My pineapple candle was gone too soon 😭 They also had a limited release wheat beer from Kona brewing company that I was kicking myself for not buying, I couldn’t find it anywhere else on the island while I was there.

This was one of our stops on the tour of the North Shore. We didn’t take a full tour of the plantation, but still enjoyed the stop! Big, spacious store for shopping. Lots of options for souvenirs, food or treats to try, etc. They have lots of very helpful staff to assist. I tried Dole Whip for the first time here and WOW was it amazingly delicious!!! I also grabbed some yummy pineapple hard candies. Make sure to check out the rainbow eucalyptus trees outside while you’re there!!!

First of all, I taught that my kids, which are ages 13 and 12, will not like this place. I was wrong, I think they loved it more than my wife and I did. They offer military discount which is always a pleasant surprise. We bought the all inclusive tickets that includes the garden grounds, the train ride and the maze. Per my kids, the maze is the main attraction here and the most fun to complete. They complemented the garden grounds saying that everything was pretty and well taken care of. Even the train ride they said that it was educational in nature and a perfect compliment to it all. As a family we had a lot of fun. This is a must visit place and I will recommended 10/10.

Two years ago we didn't get a chance to visit the Dole Plantation as we were visiting HI but made sure we did this year. We did not do the train ride or view the "farm" or maze as it was busy, but we spent over 1 hour in the shop. The shop is enormous and prices are actually affordable considering its a huge touristic site. There are many individually owned kiosks inside which I was not aware of until we got there. They have amazing products (some hand made and some not). I had to refrain myself from buying so many things. Make sure you stop at the Corn on the cob truck just outside for grilled corn. SERIOUSLY delicious, make sure you get one for each person as I only got 2 hoping my kids would share or not eat it all, but to my surprise the cob was stripped bare by the time we got to the car. Lots of cute chicken and roosters walking freely as well! The only "ich" overall was trying to find parking, but again no complaints, you are in Hawaii after all so enjoy the scenery and weather!

Such a great day activity. Facemasks required when you're indoors, you can take them off when you're outside. They have the best gift shop and food court. Hefty plate of BBQ chicken for a really good price. 20 minute mini train ride around the plantation. Great photo opportunities in the garden. We didn't do the maze but we heard it takes over an hour to get through it. We saved the best for last, Dole pineapple whip with coconut shavings. So good and refreshing. we couldn't leave the plantation without having the grilled corn on the cob at the exit. Overall a must do. Kid friendly, wheelchair and stroller accessible.

Dole plantation has some interesting things to do with kids. We went in for ice cream which was pineapple flavor and it was too sweet for me. They have everything pineapple in the gift shop. The maze looks pretty interesting but takes a whole 40 minutes to complete. I came outside to eat some corn on the Cobb with chili lime. I liked that more than anything inside. If you have kids and want to entertain them, it is recommended.

Super touristy, but why not?! Fun way to spend an afternoon, train and grounds aren't pricey but expect to drop a lot of money in the gift shop where you can find Pineapple anything! If you don't like trains I wouldn't even bother coming, the train is where you get the history and see the fields. My toddler loved feeding the fish which was sort of a surprise discovery, I didn't expect there to be a fish pond. Bring Quarters!

A wonderful place to visit. The world's largest maze was fun and enjoyable but not suited for wheelchairs or those that get tired from being on their feet for 30-60 minute periods of time. Young kids will enjoy the maze but should be accompanied by a parent / older sibling. The general store has a wide selection of souvenirs and there is no way you can pass through without consuming some delicious pineapple. Several food options are available and are moderately priced. The train ride is around 20 or so minutes and the wait can be just as long, if not longer. The train traverses across the plantation at a slow rate, giving riders plenty of time for pictures while an audio narration educates the group on the many diverse plants and the history of the property. The gardens also make for a nice walk and narration is available through the QR codes for a self guided tour. Our family spent about 5 hours here, including a break for lunch, and I imagine most families would spend somewhere between 2-6 hours to complete all that the plantation has to offer. The whole plantation is open and allows free passage, so families may elect to do all, some, or even none of the ticketed parts of the grounds. I would recommend this place to others and would stop again for a nice relaxing day. Warning: souvenirs are a bit on the pricey side.

Kitschy and touristy but fun. Not overpriced and plenty of parking. The tour was great, but got the sense that it was meant to push people through for maximum profit. Focus seemed to be the gift shop. Not too much in the way of the historical interpretation and obviously didn't dig too much into the complex history and the implications of the industry, nor the impact the industry had on the island and its people. I guess that's to be expected. Pineapple tastes great though! And they had an enlightening demonstration on how to cut a pineapple.

A really cool place to stop by. Did not take any tours but had the chance to try the Dole ice cream which I thought was great. They have a huge gift shop with a wide selection of souvenirs. Nice scenery around the plantation. A good place to hang out and have ice cream. Also have a pond with koi fish! If you plan on tours or a train ride around the plantation I would recommend booking ahead of time as when I went they had lines but will vary. Not sure how much tickets cost but free to go and walk around and enjoy.

Definitely an experience to remember. It gets very packed so make sure you get there early. You have to make sure you have a plan because there's so much to see in so much to do. I've never seen a pink pineapple in my life and that was awesome to see. I suggest you grab a snack on your way. Delicious 🤤

Worth the visit, not expensive to see all the beautiful plants and trees. Come early as it’s very hot during the day. We really enjoyed our visit. The store has really cute and affordable souvenirs.

This is a special place for us and I love stopping here. My it has changed in 20 years. We did the maze together and it was fun for adults. Maybe not for small kids. Enjoyed our Dole Whip and always enjoy the gardens.

Fun place to visit. The wait for the train is often 45 mins or more. The maze takes anywhere from 30 minutes to over an hour. The shops inside offer everything from pineapple glazed nuts to food and souvenirs. The shop has so many freaking cute things. And the smoothie is a must try. Love the place.

This was definitely a cool spot to visit during our time on Oahu. The drive up seeing miles and miles of pineapples and beautiful red soil is definitely something to remember. I loved seeing all the different pineapple varieties they had in the small garden. The train that goes around the area, the soft serve, and the maze make it a fun place to spend an hour or two in the sunshine

  • 4/5 Victor L. 4 months ago on Google
One of the more popular destinations on the island. They have three main attractions: train ride, garden and maze. We've done all three, maze was closed on this visit. The train and maze are good for smaller kids, if you have any older ones they may not be as interested. Garden is more for the parents, lots of different plants to see and so many are beautiful and colorful. Store has a lot of different souvenirs, they also have things like roasted nuts, dole whip and other snacks. If you are on the island make sure to stop by, it's even on the way to the north shore so you can go there afterwards.

  • 5/5 Lonia A. 4 months ago on Google
Went on a Sunday, was really busy but didn’t interfere with us doing all the activities. Got tickets for the Train Ride, the Garden Tour and the Maze, the maze was fun to do with the little ones, the garden was beautiful with lots to see, and the Train ride was cool to see the whole plantation and the fruit and things they grow there. Had a lot of fun with the family. Recommend getting the dole whip and the pineapple cashews, so delicious!

  • 4/5 Jessie C. 5 months ago on Google
Beautiful tourist spot! It's free to go to the gift shop and garden by the patio, but everything else costs to enter. It is quite pricey. The Dole whip is amazing and probably worth the $9 we paid for it. I've always wanted to see cacao beans growing, and I was not disappointed!

  • 4/5 D. G. 2 months ago on Google • 50 reviews New
More for families with small children. Fee for everything. Stand in line for small train that takes you around the area. Fees pretty high I thought for what you get in return. Pineapple Dole Whip with pineapple tidbits pretty good though. Like I said kids would enjoy it more than the adults.

  • 3/5 Christen B. 2 years ago on Google
Dole plantation was vibrant and full of tasty treats. I opted not to take the train due to the line wait time, and it was a quick stop on my journeys that day. The grounds of the plantation are beautiful, decorated with pinapple, chocolate and coffee plants. Very vibrant tropical plants as well. It's a short walk around before you run into the back of the gift shop serving up tasty pineapple treats. The gift shop itself is expensive. I held off buying due to the prices. I did not see any of the pineapple/fruit fields, but this may be an option on the train.

  • 4/5 Karen P. 2 years ago on Google
It is interesting for what it is, and not too expensive, but it does seem to be neglected. I presume Covid has at least something to do with that. No online tickets at this time, and no pineapple demos. The Dole Whip is really good and the line went quickly. I wouldn't go back again but it was a good way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

  • 5/5 Victor Stanley (Shar and V. 2 years ago on Google
Awesome place to visit in Hawaii. The Dole Whip was as great as advertised. Go early as the lines get long fast. Because of the reduced ridership caused by COVID it makes the lines longer. Very much worth the visit and learning were our food comes from.

Train tour was a very nice experience. Explanation of the history of the plantation was very interesting. The gift shop is amazing, impossible to not get something and the ice cream and the pineapple were delicious. Very recommended

Had a great time visiting Dole Plantation! This is a very family-friendly place with the Pineapple Express Train and the huge pineapple maze! We loved exploring the grounds and the marketplace..it was one of our best stops for souvenirs! The Dole Whip did not disappoint! Highly-recommend trying it out on your visit!

  • 3/5 Neil G. 2 years ago on Google
Kind of a cool experience to be this close to the pineapple farm itself. The only way to see the operation is to purchase a train ticket and there is a 2hr minimum wait for the train. The wait for us was way more than that. The shop is huge and the plantation grille has burgers, hot dogs, fries, and of course…pineapple on everything. Dole Whip is here in ever kind of possible variation. A tourist stop for sure but a good one.

  • 5/5 Alexandra E. 2 years ago on Google
Wonderful train tour, pineapple Ice cream & shopping! Even in a Pandemic & rainy day, we had a great time~ 100% recommended!!

  • 5/5 Christina B. 2 years ago on Google
Loved our experience here! Recommend getting there immediately at opening and going straight to the train ride. We were told to do that by the ticket lady, and had to wait 20 minutes for the next train ride (there is only 1 train). When we got off, there was a 1.5 hour line for it. Some food there, with some food trucks. They ran out of coconuts when we were there. Loved the maze! So fun! We were there for only a few hours but you could easily spend more time there.

  • 5/5 Mark G. 2 years ago on Google
There are three things to do here which are paid: a maze which is described as the world's largest, an extensive and beautiful garden and the Pineapple Express train ride. We chose the train which turned out to be a twofer as it offered a good view of much of the garden. The ride was a leisurely 2.5 miles with recorded commentary about the farm and the history of Dole. We enjoyed the train. After that we bought Dole Whip which is a type of Pineapple flavored soft ice cream which we had topped with chopped Pineapple and ate it on tables outside. There is also a large gift shop of course.

  • 4/5 Deborah H. 2 years ago on Google
This was a glimpse of Americana, Hawaiian style. We took the 22 minute train ride through some of the pineapple fields and I was impressed with how they had planted a wide variety of crops along the way to illustrate the diversity of not only Dole's operation but Hawaii's as well. And, appreciative of the signs identifying the different plants and equipment. The staff was friendly and helpful. The Dole Whip dessert available in the store was amazing. Well worth the stop.

Learned a lot, ate a lot, had a great time. Beautiful and interesting. A train ride, the gardens and the maze are fun. Grille has great food and the required Dole Whip for dessert. Well worth the visit.

It's free to go here but if you want to do the maze, train, and self-guided tour, you'll be paying up to $27 per adult. All of these attractions are fun and cute, very family friendly too. The maze is well done with 6ft hedges and points of interest to compel you through it. The gift shop is the main attraction though and it's a formidable tourist trap with many cute and tasty items. After sampling the overpriced candy and plushies, I'd have to recommend their Dole Pineapple soft serve with pineapple toppings. That was awesome! Go here, it's cute and fun. You'll be there for 2 hours max.

  • 5/5 Kuan W. 1 year ago on Google
Interesting place, free entry into the grounds, but have to purchase tickets for certain attractions. There's a large maze and a small train that takes around 20-30min which takes you around part of the plantation and provides info about the plantation and trees and about pineapples. There can be a bit of a wait to be able to get onto the train after purchasing tickets (was 30min I our instance). Fun place for young kids. There's also a large souvenir shop which has a huge variety of items and a lot of edible gift options like dried fruit, gummy Candy, shortbread etc. The pineapple ice cream was great and our one had chunks of pineapple in it that tasted as sweet as candy.

  • 5/5 Bryan B. 1 year ago on Google
Fun and lots of it. Worth the trip and the money! The train, the garden and the maze were all fun. Word to the wise … get on the train ASAP! The line grows ridiculously long in less than an hour. The gift shop is scary since we wanted to buy everything! Be sure to watch the pineapple cutting demo. The staff is exceptionally friendly and the bathrooms are clean and large … always helpful after mass Kona coffee consumption. The whip bar and the coffee station are the top hits!

The Dole Plantation is an excellent place to visit. Would recommend coming here if you love anything pineapple. You will find candies, souvenirs, and much more here. The food here is delicious. You can order burgers, Hawaiian foods and beverages here. The pineapple chili bowl was interesting. The pineapple ice cream is where it's at. The food here is delicious! You can buy pineapples here too! The Pineapple Train was much better than expected. It takes you around the farm while teaching you the history behind the farm and it's connection to Oahu. The Garden was good but we probably came during a bad time since we didn't see much of the garden is full bloom. We didn't go to the Maze but it did sound fun. The parking is packed, even during the weekday. Come early if you want to park close but even if you parked far, it's not even a bad walk. Overall, the plantation was exciting to visit. The food and pineapple desserts makes this place shine. The employees are very nice and welcoming as well.

Fun for everyone! HUGE store up front with everything Dole and pineapple. Cool pineapple demonstrations and snacks. Maze and train tour in the back. You can pay for a combo or individually. There was a 1hr15min wait for the train ride when we got there, and the parking lot was also full, so recommend not going during peak hours in the middle of the day when the tour busses stop there.

Great place to visit on your way to the north shore. We enjoyed the train ride and the grounds. Did not do the maze. Train ride wait was bit longer than they said it would be, but we enjoyed it none the less. I highly recommend getting a dole whip!

Fun place to visit. The wait for the train is often an hour or longer. The maze takes anywhere from 30 minutes to over an hour. The shops inside offer everything from pineapple glazed nuts to food and souvenirs. You could easily spend up to 3 hours here. I wasn't expecting mosquitoes at the maze. If you have bug spray, definitely use it.

It’s hot and don’t have too much fun. The train line is so so long, it has a waiting time 1hour and 40 minutes on that Tuesday we visited. The garden is comfortable for kids and seniors, but it’s small…. Pineapple ice cream is good, but do not buy too many corns, it melt so fast that you even didn’t get a time to take picture….

Sensory experience of beautiful flora and fauna! Friendly staff, fun vibe, and lots of guests, which meant long wait for train and busy food counters. Get there early for best parking and be prepared for tourists, school or camp groups, and people of all ages. Take photos and enjoy a delicious bite of Dole Whip!

👍👍 Nice beach away from the crowds at all the public beaches on the south shore! Perfect for kids because there's no waves, it's shallow, and there's lifeguards on duty. There's cabanas to rent along with SUP boards and kayaks for $10/hr or $20 for the day. There's also restrooms, an awesome beach bar/...
