If you visit Hawaii you have to visit this park. Lots of movie scenes such a Jurassic World and a lot of history and World War II bonkers for display. In my opinion this is where you will get the best views and best pictures of the scenery and authentic Honolulu Hawaii. Be sure to do the zip lining tour for in my opinion it is the best and covers all of the Tours in one. This destination is a must see in Honolulu.

This was an amazing find. We've visited Hawaii many times but we'd never been to this place until now. I would highly recommend this location... well worth the time and expense. It was fun to see so many familiar scenes from movies. What a great time we had. We took the movie set tour. They offer several other outings, including horse back and four wheeler tours too. You can spend an hour or two or spend the whole day.... you'll find many options.

The hike itself is straight up most of the way. There's brush that's really low and dry so its hard to tell where exactly the drop off is and your just getting scratched from all the dry stuff underneath the greenery. Nothing life threatening but you'll come out of the trail with scratches for sure. Its hot so bring extra water and sunscreen. We took our 10, 8, and 6 year old. Enjoy the scenery when you get there. Stay on the main trail. There are other trails that head off in different directions but I think thats where other hikers end up lost and we end up seeing them late at night with the flashlights trying to find a way out. (We live just on the other side of Kahana) Be safe but have fun!

This is indisputably a beautiful location. Unfortunately, it does not make for a good camping experience. For starters, the campsites are just a few feet away from public parking and a busy highway. Next, the bathrooms are locked in the evening. The worst part of our experience was a termite swarm that descended while we were cooking dinner right at dusk. There was also a group of beach combers picking through all of the campsites and garbage bins after dark. My recommendation is to visit during the day and hike the beautiful trails or hang out at the beach. Bring good footwear and give yourself extra time as the trail is quite rough. Don’t reserve a campsite.

is very awesome doing this adventure the guide explains to you every single point of this park so no regrets 😊 worth doing it... the tip doesn't seat in the back of the truck because the road is very bumping...👍

Parking was a bit confusing and weird. But we parked around the other cars hoping we didn’t get broken into or towed. The trail begins to up through a neighborhood. Houses look rough but no one gave us trouble going to the trail head. Once in the trail we took the loop to the right. BRING BUG SPRAY. My gf forgot to bring the bug spray and we got ate up. The trail is muddy and there’s a part you cross a creek so you will get wet. On the map it called for another water stop near the top right but we didn’t see it. It’s an interesting hike for sure making our way, crawling and hoping over trees. Eventually you run into a little swim spot near the end where locals were swimming. If you take the hike to the left from the start you’ll run into the swimming area right away. Enjoy!

The guides were incredible! We did the ATV tour which was neat to try and felt nice to drive (somewhat) recklessly. Though most of the ride was open ended and sometimes a blur (totally an experience that you had to make the most of), the guides made our experience great! They were also happy to give tips about the islands and directed really great Jurassic park videos for our fam as keepsakes! My recommendation: watch the Jurassic park movies, King Kong/Godzilla's, 50 first dates etc to get little ones excited about the ranch!

Less crowds, nice beach and river, plus a hiking trail, bring sprays not eaten by bugs

Right off from the highway is a beautiful area for camping. Despite how windy it was and the potential road noise, it was really lovely. Great views of the ocean and crouching lion, especially during sunrise. I would stay here for 10 days straight if I could book it. Easy waves for newbie surfers and good hiking nearby, too. The only showers are beach showers, so it's cold water, and they are right in the open.

Other say it is one of the best river kayak tours. I didn't find it all that great. Yes jungle trees. But no wildlife. Unless you count the spider that got onto my kayak. The park is great. The surf is realy good for small kids.

Did the smaller 17 passenger Jurassic tour. It was recommended and worth it as you will get see the entire park and time for getting out and photo. Our guide Christopher from DC was AMAZING and explained so much and definitely made the trip memorable!!!

Go to this park if you want to feel like you're in Jurassic Park! There's also a cool off the beaten path hike called "Nakoa Trail" there which is a fun jungle hike. I wrote a detailed hiking guide for it on my website if you want more information on what to expect (website link on my photos)

Only good word and good memories. The nature was gorgeous. The tour of the fields where the make the movies was really fun. Plus you get to see where they made some of your favorite TV shows and movies. Put this on your places to visit and thing to do list :)

I took a road trip from Kailua to the north part of the island. The trip was scheduled to be 40 minutes and it went by in no time at all. I was just amazed at the beauty of all of the sights and the depth of field brought by the mountains in the background and the cloud cover of the mountain. It was a great sight to see and such a joy to behold. The view was gorgeous even with the little drizzle that started while I was out there.

The park is beautiful for a daytime excursion, but if you are planning to camp consider looking elsewhere. Between the constant traffic and the karaoke from you fellow campers, this campground is very loud. Bring earplugs! On the positive side the grounds were very pretty with lots of grass and there were two picnic tables and a trash can.

The beach is gorgeous. White sand plus blue ocean, it’s like a heaven. Also it’s not crowded at all!

Please is so beautiful! People that work and do all the tours are really amazing and friendly. Rest assured,no matter how busy it is, you and kids will have a fantastic time. Book your tours early otherwise tours get sold out. We did the Hollywood tour, amazing and the secret beach half day excursion. Very cool. Only thing that needs improvement is the food they sell at the canteen. Needs to be better quality. Food was meh.

Beautiful! Great tour guides on the ATVs. Ask for goggles, sunglasses draw the dust into your eyes.

🫤 Sad! Beautiful beach but unfortunately ruined by humans. Unstable homeless allowed to sleep under pavilion and setup tents in the camping area. One lady kept approaching me up close and just staring. Pretty freaky. Also groups of loud campers until 3am. No parkkeeper to regulate or event to check p...

😐 This is NOT the black sand beach on the Big Island and for some reason Google has reviews stating this. Instead, this is a quiet beach with calm waters and nice sand on Oahu. Did not see any turtles and it is unlikely that they would stop by here. There's also a public bathroom here.
