I can’t say enough about how much I enjoyed this tour, from booking to leaving with the goods, total pro. Highly organized! We did the 3 hour tour with the gift bag add on, worth every single penny if you like eating the best chocolate you’ve ever had. Samuel was our guide, with Maddy training and on support. Funny, personable, extremely knowledgeable and had us all cackling along with the dad jokes. Chocolate tasting, tropical fruit tasting, honey tasting, and so much education. What is no joke is their commitment to quality and agriculture. No corners cut here, and you get what you pay for. Gorgeous property, easy to find, easy parking, and super service. Highly recommend, one of the best if not THE best thing we did on Kauai. We left with all this plus a jar of honey for the price.

What a magical place to visit. The tour was one of the best we’ve been on. Machete Mel was awesome leading the group through the dense jungle like farm and give us wonder treats along the way. This is a must visit for anyone on this island. And you will have a chance to sample tea, nuts and take home wonderful and chocolate which is directly produced from this land. Taste the difference and you will never think about chocolate the same way again.

The tour was a fantastic experience, even for my 80 year old parents. We enjoyed learning about chocolate from soil to bar. Our tour guide Jake was incredible with knowledge and personality. We also learned about many other fruits and plants on the island.

It is a great tour that gives you a unique and interesting background on Cacoa farming. Alexandria was our guide, and she provided us with a fantastic review of the farm and all the facts about healthy chocolate that you could dream for. Many tastings offered on their chocolate and honey items. They also have tea that you can purchase when available. We picked up a few gift bags of their chocolates and enjoyed the 3 hour tour that we took. Even though it rained, it still was a fun adventure. They provide great driving instructions on how to get to their location up in the hillsides of Kapaa. Parking is on a grass/dirt lot. Wear shoes that you don't mind getting muddy or dusty, depending on the weather. Some short hills on the walking path, but they offer a ride in their smaller motorized carts for those who can't walk in those areas that are steeper. Also, stairs to climb up for some of the outdoor seating areas where they have presentations and tastings. All employees are very helpful. They have an onsite bathroom near the front of the outdoor lobby area, porta potties on the walking tour area. They offer umbrellas if it's raining. Otherwise, wear a rain poncho or windbreaker style jacket to stay dry. Will definitely tour again, or order from their website!!

This farm and this tour are both PHENOMENAL! I recommend this tour to everyone because not only are the grounds beautiful, but the knowledge about superfoods and source is valuable and the products are delicious! Kauai is a uniquely special place and what a treat to be able to sample these delicious fresh fruits straight from their source. Alexandria was our guide and her knowledge of the plants, the process, and the global pulse on cacao farming was delivered in such a fun and memorable way! Lots of laughs and the time flew by! LOL Every team member was so friendly and helpful from the moment you drive up, to the moment you drive out! There is only a little walking from plant to plant but there is one good sized hill to go down and back up. My friend who was attending the tour with me had some mobility limitations so we let them know ahead of time and they were happy to give her a ride back up on their cacao-asaki🤣 at the end of the tour! If you're looking for good quality gifts that are unique to Kauai then you will definitely find options here! I got gifts for my chocolate lovers, my coffee lovers, my tea lovers, and my cocktail lovers here! I felt like this was a healthy, adult, Willy Wonka experience crossed with wine tasting in Napa!!❤️❤️ There is an age limit for kids which I thought was interesting at first, but I can totally see now how it would be distracting for guests and not very polite for the guides if your kiddo might struggle sitting in their chair while learning about the soil-to-bar processes or if you have to keep having side conversations with them during the presentations, so just something to take into consideration when booking.🤙🏼🤎

The best tour ever! Our guide Henry was so knowledgeable. You’ll learn how different trees are pollinated, crop rotation and sustainability, and lots more. Did you know vanilla is a variety of orchid, and they Hand Pollinate their vanilla plants? Well, now you do! The three hours flew past as we walked among the cacao trees and sampled multiple types of fruits, tried peppercorns right off the tree ( my fave! Who knew fresh peppercorns would be so amazing?) and of course-the Chocolate! Lydgate Farms was recently awarded in Paris for their chocolate and you’ll see why. Don’t miss this tour!

Having booked a tour with a different chocolate farm that was cancelled the evening prior, I frantically looked for something to fill that void. Fate was smiling because the Lydgate tour was utterly perfect! Do arrive early as suggested to enjoy pre-tour snacks. Our guide, Mason, was knowledgeable, entertaining and a gracious host. The entire 3+ hours we were kept fully engaged; so much to learn, see and taste. We couldn't help but leave with some chocolate to share back home, in part to savor the experience we had.

We attended a tour last week, and it was the best guided tour we did during our visit on Kauai. Our tour guide Mel was super friendly and informative. We can’t stop talking about the Lydgate Farms tour after we got back from our trip. Definitely highly recommend it to anyone that’s interested in learning about (good) Hawaiian chocolates and local farming practice.
