We went to Jo Jo's chefs dinner Sunday night. It was fantastic, 6 courses, high quality ingredients, in an intimate setting with like minded foodies! An amazing dining experience. Jo Jo's wife, Eliza, might almost outshine the food, she is personable and creates an amazing atmosphere. We then went back to Fond for 3 more meals throughout the week, because there were so many items on the menu we wanted to try. Fond was consistently the best food we found on the island, with bonkers low prices. Fresh ingredients, and something for everyone. Cancel all those reservations at the tourist traps on the beach, this is the place to eat!!

My wife and I did the Sunday evening chef’s counter and it was a fantastic experience. Everything was very thoughtfully prepared. The food was great and ranks up there as one of the best chef’s tables we’ve done (we’ve done several as we live in DC). What stood out the most to me was chef JoJo. His passion for food is out of this world and his vision on the experience is well executed. You are at his table and you feel like you are his family and in his home. He explains why he does things and where the food comes from and even some of his decision making. It was a chefs table and cooking class all in one and it exceeded my every expectation. Highly recommend and we will be back!

A 2.5 experience. First and most importantly, this restaurant doesn't know what it wants to be. Decor is minimalist but depressing. Rule one , know your audience. Nobody in the place wanted to hear techno music, electronic music or rap. Staff couldn't have been more indifferent. The food tries to be elevated, but it was mostly a flop 2 apps, 2 meals, 2 desserts. Edible, that's it. Lots of way, way better places. Not one dish that was photo worthy. Note to chef... Advertising your burger as 4oz is not an enticement. The preparation didn't make up for it's little patty. Hard pass.

Three stars based on a 5 star dine in experience & a 1 star take out experience. Dining in with my family was definitely very enjoyable. The staff was very nice and the food was delicious. Even the presentation was beautiful. However I feel bad for talking so highly & recommending Fond to my boyfriend because his online order seemed like it was more of an inconvenience for the restaurant. We ordered gravy fries, 2 chicken bites & a cheese cake. The order ticket had a 40 minute wait time and we showed up 20 minutes early. The fries and chicken bites were already in the window. But still had to wait the full 40 minute ticket time for the cheesecake and ice cream. The fries were good, but just tasted like regular fries since they forgot to add the gravy. The chicken bites were ok. However the the 40 minute wait time to put a slice of cheesecake and 1 scoop of ice cream was definitely worth the wait. We did call the restaurant to let them know they forgot the gravy and they asked if we were in the area to go back to pick it up but we weren't. So I'm not sure why they said the chef would give us a call back, but never called back either.

Chef Vasquez closes the restaurant Sunday evening for a 10-12 person chef's counter meal during which he takes guests on a journey through the why (and how) of seasonal, skillfully prepared dishes. At $140/person as of March 2023 (with $40 optional wine pairing), it was reasonable for the experience and a 3-hour meal we really enjoyed. Describing the dishes almost doesn't seem fair since each menu is only around for two months. That said, the coconut tamarind scallops were AMAZING in case you happen to read this in March or April. I've already bookmarked a return for next year.

Update Fall 2022: still 5-star and fantastic. We have once again had wonderful experiences at the chef's table and Wednesday fried chicken. 100% the best food and experience on the island. We're fortunate to have traveled the world and have eaten at several amazing restaurants, including Michelin starred ones. Chef Jojo is handily in the top 5. We have enjoyed fried chicken Wednesday nights, chef's table Sundays, and lunch. All before and since the pandemic. The food is always fresh, flavorful, inventive, and delicious. Service is also top-notch.

Chefs table at Fond was the highlight of our trip. Chef Jojo and his team were so welcoming, it felt like dinner with family. It was an amazing experience to watch someone so passionate about what they're serving, plate everything in front of you. The food was some of the best we have ever had, all paired with great wine. We will be making this a staple of future trips

Happy to visit while on Maui. The food was delicious. The chicken was so crispy and tasty, the steak was well seasoned and tender. Our server/bartender was great and fun to chat with.

Family friendly, casual, and good portion sizes. I recommend the PLT lettuce wraps. Very flavourful. The tsunami bowl is like a poke bowl which was only okay. Cheesecake was okay, but it seemed like it was missing some kind of fruit flavoured colour and sauce.

A very nice Asian fusion restaurant in Napili mini mall. The dinner menu is relatively small but quite diverse and creative. This allows for easier selection and quicker preparation. Service is very fast and friendly. Prices are reasonable considering where we are. We would recommend this establishment for either lunch or dinner. Reservation through Yelp.
