This resort is mostly dedicated to providing a beautiful place to be, the landscaping, greenery and view are top notch. All of this, however, comes with an extraordinary price. Each and every thing at this location costs an absurd amount, which is to be expected coming from a resort of this caliber. This fact makes it hard to enjoy the rest of the amenities and stay overall. The love seats and condos at the poolside cost to stay in and if you’re found in them a staff member will be there to tell you to pay or get out within five minutes time. Me and my brother were stopped by several staff members and asked what our room numbers were to insure that we were allowed there. The strictness of rules is suffocating! We aren’t cheap by any means but you’d think after staying in a bungalow (~1500 a night) we’d get some leniency. The condos at the pool cost $250 for the day (9am-6pm) and the drinks are always $25+ The food is immensely overpriced for the quality served. Overall I can’t give this place more than 3 stars simply because of the extreme costs associated with just staying there. Basically nothing is included with a room! Think about these things before you stay here, if you like to eat and drink you’ll have to spend at least 600 a day for a family of four just to live comfortably. Also note food and drink from the market inside the hotel isn’t permitted to be consumed at the poolside.

This was our last place we decided stay at before we went home to DC… it was beautiful inside and out! We knew it was going to be a high end place with higher prices but we didn’t care about that because we do believe that you pay for what you get… there are a couple of reasons why I had to put in 4 stars… there is a $35 a day resort fee, that’s fine as they mentioned that it covers the activities but then we realized majority of the activities had an additional cost. The most annoying thing was the snorkeling and body boarding stuff… I thought the $35 fee had to at least cover us using that… nope. On top of that we noticed that random folks would come use the beach chairs and umbrellas so it was a task to hunt one down. You would think paying $900 a night they would police the chairs and umbrellas just a little. We have stayed at a lot of nice places and they do a good job making their guest their priority and they don’t have all these hidden little cost (increase the night stays and stop all the little add ons). The food at the restaurants is fire, the cleaning and garden people are the nicest, the views are breath taking and the rooms nice enough (we noticed that there were cracks on the ceilings and walls… the floors are not cleaned well so our feet were always black going to bed… we take off our shoes in the room).

My husband and I stayed here for 3 days for our honeymoon last week. The room was very updated and the view was amazing. However, that’s really where my compliments can stop. For the price, we expected people to be friendly and helpful. There was one woman the whole time who helped us get a $200 shuttle back to the airport. When we checked in, the man was kind but in a rush because the computers were at risk of crashing. Then at the bar, one drink is $25! I’m sorry, we are not cheap but that’s absurd. One night at sunset bar, we did not even receive silverware or napkins after waiting for quite some time. It is also very hard to get around and when we asked the concierge for local things to do, she told us we can hang out by the pool. Lastly, breakfast was included in our package yet when we checked out, it ranged from $23-45, to which they told us it’s only included to a limit (which we were never told). Overall, not how we wanted to start our honeymoon after traveling 13 hours to be there. We went on to stay on Kauai at a Hyatt and that was sooo much better.

We stayed at Turtle Bay Resort primarily so I could play golf at the course. I've done a separate review there. The North Shore offers something different to the hustle and bustle of Waikiki. It's definitely worth staying here even though the room rate is expensive. The rooms are well appointed. There are a few bits that could be improved like the shower head and some finishing. We also had issues with the air con turning off in the middle of the night which affected our sleep. The views from our room were awesome. The beach is great for families and snorkeling. The pools are great. Honestly, a standout. There's a family friendly pool and adult pool. They look into the North Shore waves. Cocktails are served at the pool, and they're good. One minor critique would be to simplify the pricing of the cocktails. The food offering could be improved. We loved the cocktails at the lobby restaurant but the food wasn't great. The service was extremely slow for food. Same for the poolside restaurant. They're also expensive for what you get. Service was good. Staff are lovely. They must be well treated as many have been there for awhile and are friendly. The full fledged restaurant was amazing. Great service and best pork chops I've ever had. The resort texts you if you're enjoying your stay, and we replied no but there was no follow-up. We did have an issue with an item going missing from the pool. It was an honest to god innocent mistake, and it was resolved after a manager got involved. We absolutely would stay here again, but we'd need to figure out a game plan about food and the air con.

Awesome hotel! Loved the stay, all the TB workers were kind and friendly. Room was always cleaned just right. Pool was so nice! Special thanks to Austin from the Sales department for going above and beyond and making our stay memorable. Great employee, hang onto him- management material for sure! Golf was spectacular, only wish I could have played more! Only complaint was that room services dishes stayed on the floor in the hallway for over 24 hours. If you're going to Oahu, don't stay in Honolulu, go to the North Shore and stay at Turtle Bay.

Our stay at Turtle Bay was awesome! The resort is huge, offering many options for shopping, drinking, and dining. The resort itself is so modern, clean, and beautiful. Our room was spectacular -- it was clean, spacious, and the bed was very comfortable. The view was breathtaking! The staff was fabulous, everyone we encountered was very helpful and personable. We were treated wonderfully as honeymooners, and were even surprised with a bottle of champagne on the first night of our stay! I would definitely recommend staying here.

Had a great time here. Our room was updated and looked very modern, spacious, with a beautiful view of the ocean. The pool area was fun for both adults and kids. The kids really enjoyed the little water slides the pool had to offer. The adults enjoyed the cocktails and food at the bar ;) The staff and servers were very friendly, however the staff near the pool (I'm guessing in charge of the pool area) would constantly ask us, as we passed by, to show our wrist bands. It felt very uncomfortable and weird, but I know we weren't being single out, because they were doing that to almost everyone! I just hope they train their staff to be a little smarter and maybe ease up on frequently asked to show our wrist bands. You've asked me 4 times now, you should know I'm staying here! Regardless of that blip, we really enjoyed our stay and all the amenities this place had to offer.

Each time I come here, there's a certain mystique that surrounds this location. The peace and quiet brought on by the gentle, warm air from Hawaii. Away from the frenetic activity and bright lights of the city life. An oasis in the middle of the island. Each and every trip should absolutely include a stop to Turtle Bay. Even if it's just to catch up with some friends over a drink and some lively banter at the bar, it's always worth it.

Superb resort. My husband and I celebrated our honeymoon here, and literally everything about our stay was spot on. All of the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, catered to our every need. Hotel is very chic and recently renovated. Very comfortable and well designed. Rooms were by far the most comfortable we’ve ever stayed in, bed was like sleeping on a cloud. The pool area is just gorgeous. Our room keys were wristbands which help the staff identify hotel guests so that your not pestered by the pool area (helps keep out strays). You’ve got an adults only infinity, and 2 others (3 in total). Great beach access from the resort - perfect for evening strolls and exploring during the day. If your lucky as we were, you’ll spot turtles. Plenty of comfortable seating areas around the resort to sit back and take in the sunset/relax. Many options for dining. I’ve seen people complain about pricing, but to be honest, it’s extremely fair/competitive for the island, compared against neighbouring resorts. We actually felt for the price paid, portions and quality were very high. Overall, there’s just nothing to moan about as it was just heaven. So much so we wish we never went to Maui, and continued our stay here at this resort.

This resort is absolutely gorgeous! We brought out two boys here for a family vacation, from the moment we arrived to service was excellent. Checking into our room was a quick and easy process, I love that they give bracelets instead of key cards, it made it so much easier. We stayed in an ocean front suite and I’m happy to say it was truly ocean front. The room was modern, the view was truly amazing. We’ve stayed at other hotels and had “ocean view” rooms they aren’t always a true ocean view. We loved the access to the beach, we spent most of our time down there enjoying the waves and sun. We dined at all the restaurants on the property, we loved the breakfast and dinner at Alaia, breakfast is pretty expensive, but the views can be beat. All and all, our stay was amazing and we can’t wait to return.

Having been here back in 2019 the resort has made quite a few upgrades to the look and feel of the place. The lobby has undergone a total transformation that really makes this place feel like an exclusive resort. Think Four Seasons or Ritz. Love what they did to the place. The location, as before, is always breath taking. Construction is still happening but doesn't seem to be obtrusive. It was nice to re-visit the location after so many years and see that they are very much invested in making improvements.

Turtle bay resort is absolutely beautiful. The service is quite exceptional from the moment you check in. Pricing for food and drinks is a bit pricey. Seems like they are trying to make up from the pandemic or putting the renovation cost on the customer.

My husband and I stayed here for our tenth anniversary post renovation and this place is GORGEOUS. There are so many activities, experiences, and dining options! The entire staff on site has been outstanding and made our stay so enjoyable. I do want to mention Anya, specifically, who is a bartender between two (that we know of) dining locations. She's WONDERFUL. She gave us so many recommendations, was super friendly and personable, and even humored some of our sillier requests. We absolutely adore her and her shining customer service.

We had a minor inconvenience when we first got to our room but the staff was very on top of making sure that accommodations were made for the inconvenience. They definitely care about your stay and satisfaction by doing everything in their power to make you happy:) All of the staff is very loving and welcoming! I loved my stay here! Definitely recommend!

For 10 grand a week it should come with a blowie. I can pack an entire vacation with 10 lifetime experiences for 5 grand seeing everything Oahu and the big island can offer and not be stuck 50 miles from the rest of civilization. I never stayed here. I’m sure it’s awesome. But is it ten grand just to sleep here awesome? Not unless you are dumb, rich, and Japanese.

Resort is beautiful, updated room we enjoyed. The server Monica at the pool bar is amazing hands down best server we had the entire time we stayed at the resort. My 1 complaint is a lot of people sneak into the hotel so you pay all this money to stay here and people who do not pay to be here you share the space with. This is a big deal considering how expensive this hotel is. We were disappointed that it was hard to experience viewing a sun set due to people sneaking in and taking all the good seats for sun set views, this put a damper on our last night staying there. If they are not wearing wrist bands good chance is they are not paying for to staying there and are sneaking in. If you book a room here just know you will share spaces you pay a lot to experience with people who are not paying.

My wife and I went for our friend's wedding and stayed May 22 - 28, 2022. The resort itself was by far the cleanest place we have ever stayed. The rooms were immaculate with daily cleaning service. There are numerous restaurants and shops on property as well as a market for snacks, souvenirs and alcohol. I will say that with beers in the $8-$10 per drink range and liquor drinks $18-$22, it isn't a bad idea to buy a few airplane bottles in the market and mix your own drinks. But when you come to a resort like this be prepared to fork out a little extra $$ because it is well worth it. All the staff we encountered while we were there we amazing! And Glenda...the lady that took care of our room while we were out was a real gem! We loved it so much we're already planning our next trip back!

Our stay at Turtle Bay Resort was fantastic. We enjoyed everything about it. We loved our view from our balcony. We enjoyed the sound of the ocean waves. We had great fun doing the Lei making class and learning to play the Ukulele. I was on a mobility scooter and got around the resort with ease even down to the beach. There were a lot of people there, but it did not seem crowded. We felt like we made new friends. The employees went out of their way to make our stay comfortable.

Pretty meh. I've stayed at a lot of nice hotels and this isn't one of them. The room needed work and was outdated. Upon arriving the valet didn't even come away from their desk to greet us. Front desk just checked us in but it ended there... Amenities are all charged per activity at fairly exhorbitant prices. The pool is really tiny and crowded. Similar feeling about the beach access. Very nice views of the surf... Honestly a 3 star hotel with 5 star prices.

11/18/23: Stayed for our 20th anniversary. Views are amazing. Great beach. Very clean lobby. Friendly staff. Restaurant food was delicious. Lots of fun things to do. But we had to clean up a lot of ants in the room. Beds are very firm and there was only one kind of pillow: soft. Shower was either scorching hot or freezing, nothing in between. Room 202 is right next to the noisy elevators, which kept us up all night. Not worth the price. 11/21/23 Update: Got a response to my review from the hotel manager. But unless the hotel is willing to make it right we probably won't be back. You're welcome to contact me offline anytime to discuss.

Absolutely stunning resort with a beautiful lobby designed as contemporary with all the amenities you need. On a peninsula so water on both sides on the top of the resort. One side great for surfing the other a protected bay great for lounging and snorkelling. This is the spot to be on Oahu… more quaint and peaceful than Waikiki beach area, almost a Maui vibe! Highly recommend.

This resort is beautiful but the service is apathetic and disorganized and honestly, terrible for the price. A few examples - check in is painfully slow, one of the slowest I’ve experienced - we booked the mermaid academy. We didn’t receive any instructions on where to go etc. When we went to the concierge desk to check in for it, they sent me down to the shop to get the mermaid fins. At the shop they had no idea what I was talking about and spent 10min discussing with the manager, only to send me back up to the concierge desk. It turned out the box of fins was sitting at the concierge’s feet and she didn’t even realize it and had been sending everyone to the wrong place. At the same time, the mermaid story hour was moved from the pool to the lobby, and back to the pool, leaving everyone totally confused and wandering around trying to figure out where to go. It was pouring rain during all of this so everyone is just walking around in circles in the cold and rain. Terrible, disorganized start to a $250 activity that could be fixed by having the organizers actually talk to each other. - I signed up for a spin class. When I got down there, the class had started 5 min early and all the bikes were full. The instructor had let people who hadn’t signed up join the class. She didn’t even offer to fix it, and the other girl at the gym had no idea how to help. I had planned my morning around this class. I don’t understood how difficult it is to start a class on time and make sure the people who had reserved a spot and paid actually got to join. - I signed up for a pickleball clinic. Then I saw the fee get refunded but with no email or explanation. I called the concierge who said she would ask the coach to call, but he never did. 30min before the class was scheduled to start I got a email saying the class was cancelled. - the guy working at the beach rental place looked so miserable all day. He would barely answer in 1 word responses. I mean I get it, he hates his job, but it’s a real bummer to show up at the beach and try to get your rentals from someone who just obviously doesn’t want to be there and doesn’t want to engage with any guests. The other girls working there were friendly and normal. This place could be amazing but these types of things are really basic service and I think the people here literally do not care. Would not return.

We had an almost perfect vacation at Turtle Bay. The hotel was recently renovated and everything looks brand new and fancy. The rooms are very comfortable and have amazing views of the Bay. The pool area is beautiful and works for both adults and kids (my son had a blast in the slides). There's plenty to walk around and to do in the resort, like horse riding, riding bikes and playing pickle ball. There were two flaws during our stay though: the room was not well cleaned when we arrived and the attendant/service on the beach kiosk was not very helpful and polite with us.

Beautiful Resort . Service was not great . My wife and I went on our honeymoon here. We are minority and very young compared to the demographic of other guests, who were staying there . We were not treated with the same service other guests were, we would have to wave down servers and bartenders just to order drinks and food , almost as if begging for them to serve and help us. while to other guests they were checking in on them every few minutes to help them with all of their needs . very disappointing . After spending over $5000 on a 5 night stay would expect better service . But this was not the case . Besides that , the food and drinks were good along with other amenities and views .

Fancy. Nice staff. Nice lobby bar, with apps and phone charging or laptop station, highly recommend the lobby bar for the sunset view (there are also several full restaurants and bars that have a good view here too, but I like the lobby one). Quiet. If you're just killing time, take 20 minutes and see the exhibit about Hawaiian cultural history, that is all dark and moody lighting and waterfalls. Fun to walk through.

We had a great stay here! Location is fabulous and we had a couple of issues but the service here went above and beyond and made it right. Definitely would stay here again. Our son loved the slides down to the pool and the lagoon. We love the views and how easy it was to walk to everything. The breakfast buffet was also a hit. Most things were spendy but that is what to expect at a resort in Hawaii.

Pool side needs more adequate service during shift change. More food options for a smaller eater and maybe some night life. We had a wonderful time and definitely will be back.

I stayed here for 3 nights with boyfriend for a birthday trip in May. We had such a wonderful and relaxing time. The bed was super comfortable and they have the good hotel robes for lounging. We got up early and were able to watch the sun rise over the beach after getting coffee from the shop in the lobby (opens at 5:30 am). There is a nice area of beach with a lagoon where you can swim/snorkel with chairs and umbrellas (free for hotel guests). The water there was clear and calm. They also have a large pool with a separate adult pool. There were always open lounge chairs during the day which was a nice change from where we stayed in Waikiki! We had dinner at the Beach House (next door to the hotel) which I highly recommend! Plan on watching the sunset from the pool deck at least once during your stay too!

We stayed in a condo at the resort. Turtle Bay is stunningly beautiful, so well maintained. Service impeccable. Beaches perfection. Family loved it. One afternoon, my son and I spent the afternoon wondering around the property and had a great time shopping, taking photos, watching the waves and talking about so many important things while enjoying the view and facility. This is a great place to be. Will be back for sure!

Turtle Bay was the perfect place to relax at the end of our busy trip. We found the staff extremely friendly and helpful. We added the Club Lounge to our stay and it was the best thing we did. It made our stay very comfortable and Roxanne who greets you daily on arrival was an absolute delight. She was friendly, professional and always happy to help with information about the area. The trails around the property are great for walking and we were lucky enough to see seals and turtles during our stay. The only slight negative is that the adults only pool area is very small with little seating or shade and is located directly next to the kids water slides so is quite noisy. The family pools are very busy so the water by the afternoon is quite dirty and not nice to swim in. We would definitely come back here again on our next visit!

  • 5/5 Jane B. 8 months ago on Google
Gorgeous resort. Staff is extremely pleasant, helpful and attentive. Hard to find fault. If I have any hesitation it is the cost of food at the resort, particularly in the Club. We added the Club access to our Bungalow rate and I would not do this again. Otherwise the experience was perfect.

I would give 20/10 if I could. It was beyond expectations and our wildest dreams. The property is breathtaking, the food is delicious, the staff is friendly and accommodating, the rooms are comfortable and spacious and modern and CLEAN! Everything and I mean everything was perfect in every way! We can't wait to come back!

Many thanks for the beautiful week at turtle Bay. The bungalows were the perfect place to stay, and we were specially happy to have adjacent rooms for ourselves and our two children.(Really adults at 19 & 22!) We were grateful that the concierge Acted graciously when we complained about the presence of a child at the adults, only pool near our room. It was a difficult thing to bring up and we were treated with respect. The location of this resort is spectacular with the ocean out the window when we woke up every morning, beautifully planted, Great activities we especially liked the farm tour I have to be honest: I found that since my last visit to turtle Bay about 8 years ago, the carpets and linens. All the fabric elements of the room seemed a bit worn. I wonder if if it is due for a refurbishing. I hate to complain at all, as it is such a spectacular Experience to be there. Maid service in the room was terrific Complied quickly and easily with my requests. Same goes first waiter. Service by the pools and in the restaurant food was great. Goes without saying we will return to turtle Bay as soon as possible. It’s a long flight from New York, but well worth it.
