In Savasava for a Tony Robbins event, Vanua Levu was not on the Bucket List. Searching online for convenient 4-5* accommodation, which was close enough to access for those long 15-hour event days, and also provided ease of healthy food options without paying an "all-inclusive" premium, I wouldn't have time to enjoy. Koro Sun looked perfect. Airport pickup, ease of checkin, albeit I was early and used the time to eat lunch at the Sand Bar on the lagoon edge. I had the National dish Kokoda with fries, which I enjoyed. The Tropical Bure was situated close to the main reception and restaurant, which was perfect for those late night returns and early breakfast starts. A highlight walking back at night, the frogs. I loved the decor & layout of the Bure. It looked recently renovated and had a new bed, which was hard, how I like it. The outlook serene Rainforest, I can "suffer" this. ;) There was a kitchen bench, and the reasonable size fridge kept my requested ice solid for the three days I was there for my nightly Baileys. The bathroom was small, compact, and the only con unable to keep the large toiletries bag on the bench top. The pre-select meals were clunky, and as I was having to order both daily meals a day ahead, this created some communication issues. This is a reminder to anyone when there are 2 different languages and cultures to be clear about what you intend and that the receiver comprehends. Anyway, they were gracious with the mixups and resolved it where possible. The food, for the most part, is tasty, although a couple of times I misjudged the serving size. The highlight besides the breakfast staff, Maria, on reception... was my included daily massage. With Geeta (spa manager) accommodating my tight time windows and Alissi having the most healing hands for massage I'd received. I tell a lie, the highlight was snorkelling off the stairs from the resort. I had a Fabulous time at Koro Sun Resort and am planning a return trip where I can explore further the rest of the island paradise.
A beautiful resort in an amazing location where there's a truly wonderful staff. They are friendly and caring. The food is fantastic. We probably had the best massage ever at the rainforest spa, it was magical. There's lots of interesting in entertaining activities. Or you can just relax, enjoy the beauty.
