I had poached eggs on a bed of Kale with a side salad sour dough toast Very delicious. I had turmeric latte. Really enjoyed that. Could of been hotter. Thank you too the staff, they were fantastic. It was my first time. Would love to try the different varieties of meals. The playground was absolutely full with all the family groups. You had to pay $5 per child to play there. So worth it. Visit it is lovely. I will be back.

It was our first time to go to this place. We were excited to spend some time with friends and enjoy “Happy Hour.” They advertised on their website that they have Happy Hour every Thursday and Friday afternoon from 5-6 pm, and that most of their seasonal wines and house beers were half priced. We were disappointed and dismayed when we were told that they don’t have “Happy Hour”. That’s actually false/misleading advertising. Even worse, the waitress told me they only have expensive wines and I wouldn’t have wanted it, as if telling me that I couldn’t afford it. Nevertheless, we spent more than $400 on food and drinks. The panna cotta was good but the strawberry Tiramisu was weird. We would’ve gone back to this place. I even thought of suggesting to have our corporate party there but because of what happened, I would neither go back nor recommend it to anyone. But at least the kids had fun at the playground. That was the saving grace.

Very nice aesthetic to the place with quite a few drinks options. I do wish there were a bit more breakfast options as we visited at the time. Value of the meals could also be improved as it was a bit pricey with small portions however tasted great. Few things to do around, mostly for the kids

Food was really good, and the environment is very nice as staff quite friendly. One lady from kitchen came and changed our kids order to something better, very kind! From main plates to desserts full of flavour.

Really nice looking restaurant, amazing playground and outdoor space for kids. Loved the food, especially the dumplings, but quite a few items on the menu out of stock. Nice cold lunchtime Asahi completely the meal, thanks Whoa!

The food was good but thats where the buck stopped. I will never return, the poor young staff had no co-ordination to what they were doing and what looked like very bad supervision/management. We had to find staff to help us as no one was dedicated to areas. We ordered one round of drinks then waited 50 minutes for meals. No one asked if we wanted another round of drinks... We got out of there and wouldn't go back. Avoid if you want to take more than two people or are hungry! Their staff won't last long, poor young things apologizing and getting bossed around by a lady who looked out of place.

Scrumptious food, great atmosphere, and such a great service. Their pasta is to die for! The best I ever had, and I'm obsessed with pasta and order it every time I have a chance. Until finding this gem, I thought I Amano's pastas were the best, but then 'The grounds' really made me change my mind! The kids' menu is huge and delicious, and the avocado on toast wasn't too big, but it was perfect 😍 I'm definitely coming back.

Absolutely brilliant food in a large spacious environment, with a huge children's playground out the back. Good if you have huge children lol. The only bad thing about this place is sometimes they get busy so service can take a while; apart from that this place is 'chef's kiss'!

Food and atmosphere was nice. Especially seeing the venue used for a kids birthday with a face painter made it feel not as formal and kid friendly.

Pricey but it's the only really nice eatery in Henderson. Food never fails to impress and the wine list is solid.

Great venue and truly family friendly in my opinion, it had a very open layout and didn't feel claustrophobic unlike in other "family friendly" establishments. The HUGE playground served us well in the good weather and provided the adults with much needed time to ourselves. The food was really good, albeit a little on the pricy side while the staff were friendly but the service could be better. Overall, a really good experience and will be coming back on another sunny day.

Visited the grounds mid arvo on a sunday and was surprised it wasnt busy. Great comfortable fit out, spacious outdoor dining, Great playground climbing structure for the kids. They loved the hanging ball sacks. Food wise, massive selection of mutli cultural cuisine, we had the crudo, tacos, burger & tandoori salad, kids had the usual bolognaise , teriyaki chicken on rice. All edible but not memorable. However the hand made magnum style choc covered ice creams were a hit with the kids. The thing that wasnt cool was there were some local teenagers with attitudes hanging out the play ground bullying the little ones. Get security to move non patrons on.

1/ Restaurants in West Auckland are of such a high standard and the Grounds just reinforce this. Surprisingly busy for the holiday period. 2/ Another visit to this exceptional restaurant that we’re lucky to have in West Auckland, it never disappoints. 3/ Always a delight to have relaxing meal, even on Friday night. 4/ Never disappoints, steady Friday night service.

We went here for coffee and it was really great! Ended up having dinner too. Noticed that it's especially welcoming to crowds with kids, since there is a play area outside. The service was steller and the atmosphere was lively inside. Food was delivered promptly and tasted so good. Definitely a solid option for dinner with friends!

We had eleven people. The childrens food came out quickly but the rest of us had to wait 45 minutes. Some if the meals were OK but we were extremely disappointed with some of the others. The salads were extremely disappointing.Steak and chips ,where were the chips.? The dumplings were revolting.I asked what was the vegan filling and I was told vegetables. They were not.Not sure what it was..tofu perhaps. The staff were very friendly. One thing that needs to be addressed. One customer was on the upper floor tending to children which meant hr leaning over. She had a short dress and we were sitting on the lower level and unfortunately this meant we all could clearly see what we didn't want to see.Patrons need to be aware of this.

This place has a nice atmosphere with an open kitchen, the food though is fancy looking but lacks flavor.I was disappointed with the sausage meal,2 very basic super dry, overly cooked sausages, looked like store bought.. Didn't complain because the kids had fun, that's the only reason I may return.. Service was OK,staff were friendly..so overall a decent place to check in.. Cheers

We went there for brunch today. Great atmosphere and service, especially the staff who served our table (Table 51). We requested some changes to our order, and she made the whole process very smooth and they also adjusted our food price accordingly.

It was a lovely sunny day so no surprise the place was packed. Luckily our friend had booked a table. There is some confusion around paying to use the playground. We paid the $7 but feel it should be included when dinning at the restaurant. Staff seemed a bit stretched with a long wait to order and for water. The food was delicious, ribs much enjoyed with the sauce, salad and rice. The fish was tasty but overpriced at $37 when it came with 2 mussels, some sundried tomato, olives, capers and grisini sticks. The grisini were a strange accompanyment, a piece of bread would have been nicer to soak up the sauce.

The atmosphere for kids is the main thing. They'll enjoy the playgrounds. Food is average and depends on what you get. The toasted sandwich is the best thing in the menu. Really good. Pasta is bad. Fries and wedges good. I've cream was also good. Service was poor. We were at an outside table which had food from the previous order and we were happy to sit there just to keep an eye on the kids. The previous orders were not cleared and even when the servers came, they would only partially clear it.

Fabulous Disney type safe playground. $5 child activity charge. Restaurant looks relaxing and very pleasant up a notch on most. Takeaway pretty basic only toasted sandwiches &/ or chips available, alongside a specialized ice cream bar. Plenty of parking.

Great playground to take the kids. Heard the food is real good too, but haven't tried yet. Shows look promising so will definitely check one of those out with the grandkids. Staff is exceptionally good.

Cool playground but it costs $7.50 to use it. Coffees were luke warm and in take away cups. Burgers were dry and were more boring than a fish and chip shop. Chips were cold. They couldn't manage to get out any buttered pasta for my 2 year old. If you enjoy food and good service this isn't the place.

The food was great. Restaurant ia spacious. There is a play area for kids so parents can watch their kids play while eating (if you are seated on the outside tables). Service was excellent

Located beside Whoa! Studios, there is a giant and amazing playground just outside the cafe. There are two entrances, the tuck shop (where they have ice cream) and the restaurant, labeled. The restaurant itself was quite nice with the kitchen on one side and a bricked off dining area on the other with an upstairs dining area. The restaurant is also connected to the shop and theatre of the studio. I quite like the hot chocolate since it was sweet and chocolatey. We ordered the roast pork pancakes to share and I had the fusilli pasta. The roast pork pancakes were ok, nice flavour and the crackling was crispy. Pasta was nice but not that shape I expecting (I was thinking more spirally). We then got some ice cream afterwards, we picked flavours from the tuck shop and it was served at the table. I had the triple chocolate one although tasty, it was more bitter than sweet. I do think that this is a really nice place just to spend some time over lunch. There are quite a few parks inside but we ended up parking on the street nearby. Edit: Portions were a bit small, particularly the tater tots. The childrens gnocci was really rubbery which was disappointing.

We have a newborn son so wanted to order some takeout last week, which Google said the restaurant does. When I called and asked the lady said they don't really do takeout but said they weren't busy so was happy to do it for us, which was awesome. We had the waygu burger and fries and it was delicious. They also take the dine find gift card, which was useful as we'd been given one for Christmas. Looking forward to visiting the restaurant in person soon.

Very warm and welcoming! Food is delicious and caters to your dietary reservations - even customized my burger. Slightly pricey but would recommend for all special occasions.
