Nice food n area, staff just a lil slow with taking away plates etc and had to go and ask for the bill. 😊

Small, intimate pub not far from the train station and shopping centre. 3 real ales available, my pint of Saltaire brown ale was excellent. A pleasant and peaceful oasis in a lively area.

The food was really nice and didn't take long to arrive. The staff were very friendly and it was a good atmosphere. The decor was very unique with lots of beer mats stuck to the walls. They had seating inside, upstairs, outside on the front and back so they really do have space when you think it's full.

If you like Yorkshire puddings then I'd say you have to try this burger from Wapentake. The truth is that you can definitely find a better burger elsewhere, but I believe this is something you should try at least once. It was something new and different, and I thoroughly enjoyed. It may not be my go-to for lunch going forward, but I enjoyed my meal and the service.

Lovely little place, worth the walk to find it. Had my 1st ever Yorkshire pudding burger! Huge, very tasty and vegan options too, the chips were delicious. Wine was really good also. Very much recommended.

Nice place and nice ambient. Staff is super friendly, good Wi-Fi connection and a decent menu for breakfast and brunch choices. Dishes are tasty, well-done and well-presented too. The place and tables are clean (which is not granted at all in many other bars). The only issue with this place is that it is cold, heaters are not turned on in the morning. Perhaps this is the standard in Leeds/UK though. I will definitely come back here! 👍

Friendly service. I was there for brunch, food was amazing. Little bit over priced for the portions.

It was very dog friendly which is excellent. However I was disappointed that the advertised toast butter and jam was actually margarine not the same! But the staff were really nice and did not charge for it. I would definately go again.

The food gets 5 stars; the vegan roast was amazing with beautiful, thick mash potato and vegan yorkshire puddings too. Everything else 4 stars; it was very warm with no air ventilation (open windows, fans etc), so quite stuffy when eating and the staff were lovely and friendly but could've been more attentive during our visit. We'd definitely go back and would recommend.

Great tasting local food. Plenty of drink options from coffee to beer. The staff are friendly if not a little overworked! The place gets very busy so my best advice (especially at the weekend) is to arrive as early as you can

Absolutely beautiful both breakfasts, one was a veggie cooked breakfast the other was a Viking Yorkshire breakfast. Wow how much 👍 Yorkshire tea bags tasty brew. Henderson relish on the beans. Friendly and prompt service with a great vibe going on. 10 out of 10

Lovely vibe and great coffee. Rating only in terms of gluten free options - these are available but to be honest we didn't 100% trust it. In particular, the vegan sausages seemed pretty suss. Would be nice to have a bit more reassurance from staff, all it takes is a simple question, 'allergy or coeliac?' - and a bit more time spent confirming the meal is definitely safe for coeliacs. Great that they do offer gluten free, but would be good to have just a bit more info to feel safe.

Very average food quality, the price should be a bit lower for the quantity and quality offered. Coffee was okay. Service was slow, I felt bad for the poor kid seemed like he was the only one working that day, the place was busy. One thing I liked is that they had vegetarian/vegan options, but thats about it.

We came in at lunch time and despite the place being really busy, the service was amazing from Callum and the team. I ordered the steak and gravy sandwich which was 10/10! Great coffee and cake too. We're coming back on Sunday to try the Sunday roast!

A fabulous brunch that was cooked fresh to order with great ingredients. The staff in Wapentake are always warm and the welcome is friendly with a relaxed atmosphere - a perfect place for our Sunday brunch. Amazing coffee too!! We’ll be back for sure especially if the meringues are back on!!

Lovely dog friendly cafe, friendly, nice food, so cosy. Had the breakfast hash which was so good, bought a water bowl for my dog and they gave her so much attention which is nice. Felt very welcome, and will definitely be going back again !

Lovely spot for breakfast. Great selection, reasonably priced, friendly & helpful staff, and absolute must visit. Plus, Yorkshire puddings for breakfast… who knew?!?

  • 5/5 Daniel W. 5 months ago on Google
Fantastic little establishment. Big enough venue to get a bit of an atmosphere and it not feel overcrowded, small enough to feel nice and cozy. Stopped here for a drink and a bite to eat and wasn’t disappointed. Good selection of beers and other alcoholic drinks plus selection of hot drinks, the coffee seemed popular. all typical Leeds pricing so nothing out of the ordinary. Had to try the ‘Yorkshire pudding burger’ although the beef was typically burger meat and my mate did enjoy I had the chicken and was less burger, more like grilled chicken breast, which wasn’t a bad thing, very tasty, chips/wedges were good, fluffy inside bit of crunch on the outside, just as I’d like them. If there was any disappointment it would have to be the accompanying gravy, there just wasn’t enough. All very good though, would definitely go back and try other things off the menu or even pop in for a coffee or beer.

Stopped here for brunch on my trip to Leeds. It's a 5 mins walking distance from the Leeds coach station which is very convenient. Excellent food, good portions, and quick service. The place looks a bit run down but it has a cozy ambience! Slightly on the pricey side but the quality of food justifies it. Definitely recommend!

A great restaurant with food that’s exceptional and is great value. I was pleased with the Yorkshire pudding burger special (chicken with Stilton and bacon). The service was a little slow, though servers were friendly and trying their absolute best, it felt they were just a bit understaffed for the number of customers.

  • 3/5 Ethan C. 6 months ago on Google
Went here for a date, we both got the Yorkshire pudding burger, now first things first to say all there produce is locally sourced from the market the fact they didn't have any beef burgers is disappointing to say the least so we ended up with the chicken instead. Now I'm going to let the 40 min wait for the food slide due to the fact that is was fairly busy. The food overall was mediocre at best, the wedges were on point, but the Yorkshire puddings, slightly burnt and the chicken cheese and bacon between it just made it more like a Sunday dinner sandwich, I'm not saying this was the worst thing I've ever eaten but the chicken was at best frozen before hand, as it was extremely dry and chewy.

We visited this place for a brunch. As soon as you enter the restaurant you get a nice cosy vibe however as soon as you get upstairs there were quite a few flies. The 1st floor seemed a little outdated and felt like they needed a renovation as the sofa's were torn the walls were kinda patchy. However the food that was made and presented was really tasty as you can see from the picture.

Cute café / bar with more seating upstairs. There is a TV upstairs that I believe plays sport sometimes but wasn't on when we were there. We arrived around 3pm on a Friday and it was about half full. Service was fast and friendly. We ordered at the Bar and they brought it up. Minus a star because they are quite bad at clearing the tables upstairs. We had random glasses and empty beer cans on our table the whole time, and a lovely sticky spot. They took some plates away when they brought our drinks up but never returned for the rest. Loved the mish mash furniture and decor and there was smooth house music playing at a good level. All art on the walls was for sale.
