Arrogant, knowitall doctor made me feel stupid for asking a perfectly reasonable question. And, after a few weeks we find out that he hasn't even done his job proplerly so now we have to go back.

Specialist was excellent and thorough but the receptionists need to learn to smile and don't have a good manner. The nurse who did my blood test didn't have a clue. The staff at Alexander and the hospital in Didsbury far more welcoming. Up your game Spire

Been here a few times, you can never get a parking space, some of the reception staff are surly and it’s often late running for over an hour, which would be fine if NHS - but if paying private then efficiency is probably the reason for the extra step. Logistics aside, the treatment itself has been efficient and good… but still not the overall package of e.g. the Alexandra Hospital in Cheadle - bit more of a drive but less hassle and time overall.

Had a total knee replacement 18months ago, staff excellent shame my Operation didn’t go as well. Discharged very direct and no concerns for patient. Left limping, stiff and in pain 6 months ago. Still painful, stiff and limping. Trying to resolve elsewhere. Sorry can’t and wouldn’t recommend.

First class private hospital in Macclesfield that also has an arrangement with the National Health to take patients for certain types of consultations, such as ENT as an example. The hospital is very clean with a nice waiting where you can help yourself to a free cup of coffee. Make sure if you have a car that you enter the registration number in the machine on the reception desk.

I was referred by the NHS for a minor ear surgery, saw a doctor and signed my consent forms and got booked in. They cancelled. I never got contacted again, I have tried to get through to no luck. It's been 3 months and I'm dealing with lots of pain and infections (which is costing lots of money in antibiotics). Just cannot believe I never got contacted again, disgusting.

Steroid injection into ankle - 23rd November 2023. This was the third procedure that I have had at Spire (all NHS) and, again, the level of care was outstanding. From the moment I arrived, I was treated with respect, courtesy and friendliness. The impression I was left with was of a team of professionals working closely together to deliver an excellent service. For what was a simple procedure, there were several practitioners involved and I felt reassured that my safety and wellbeing were being considered at all times. Every step of the procedure was explained and after care was outlined clearly so that I knew what to expect. I would not hesitate to recommend Spire Regency to anybody - a first class experience.

Today is 1/12/23. 42 weeks after my NHS referral, and the day I was due for admission for my hip replacement. I was last week told I scored high on my stopbang assessment and surgery was postponed. Why is this assessment not done earlier. I was recently assured by the pre ams manager that there is no biases towards NHS patients. I find this difficult to believe, firstly because if I had been a private patient I would not have tolerated the rudeness of some (not all) staff, and secondly I would not have tolerated waiting 42 weeks to be told my surgery was postponed. WHERE IS YOUR DUTY OF CANDOUR SPIRE REGENCY?

Absolutely appalled at the service I have just received here, I booked in to have hernias repaired today, I am a self employed builder so have had to arrange time off work for my recovery with my next job starting in 4 weeks time. I was asked to arrive at 7am as I was supposed to be in and out in the day. Mr Roy (the surgeon) came for a quick chat and to get me to sign something and told me I was first on the list, this was at about 7.30, approaching 10am and I still hadn’t been seen or spoken to since Mr Roy, until eventually somebody else came into my room to inform me that the anaesthetist hadn’t turned up and they couldn’t get another one. Apparently Mr Roy won’t be back now until 10th or 13th March, when I then asked to speak to Mr Roy I was advised he had already left the building, he didn’t even have the decency to come and tell me he wasn’t able to do it or advise me of where to go from here. I am now out of work, still have the hernias and am going to have to let my clients down in the near future when I have to rearrange my surgery. To say I’m annoyed would be an understatement.

The male Gynaecologist consultant (Mr D) was arrogant and completely disinterested in helping my wife. He did not even examine her. I would not recommend. However, I gave 2 stars as all the other staff around including reception, gave 10/10 service and the hospital was spotless.

I'd like to do a 'shout out' for Mary, receptionist in the Imaging dept. After a frustrating few hours in between work, trying to access a result for another hospital appointment, Mary increased the number of stars I'd have originally given Spire Regency. This morning she explained the process and provided all info necessary with professionalism but friendly interaction. Excellent and skilled front line staff are valuable.

The staff were fabulous with my daughter who has learning difficulties, particularly the male radiographer who was lovely with her and very respectful, never once ignoring her and assuming her not to be part of the conversation. The only slight issue was getting a parking ticket despite being legitimately parked. The staff were very helpful in getting it cancelled but I think a change of parking provider to one less gung-ho would be beneficial.

I was admitted on the 18/09/17 as a day patient. Everyone from the receptionist, nurses and doctors etc were wonderful. They kept me informed and looked after me really well. I dont know why but as an NHS patient I thought I would be treated different but I was wrong. Its a lovely hospital, very clean and friendly staff. I cannot praise it high enough. Thank you to everyone involved in my days stay.

Disgraceful and Incompitant hospital #spireregencymaccesfield They Called to cancel surgery after 2 phone calls of confirmed times the same day . There excuse was loss of COVID RESULTS I had one done by the NHS they deal with millions of results and they came back with there’s! Yet how does a private hospital loose your result and I offered to come down and get another done straight away but they said no !! Very strange the staff and DR”s were terrible I certainly will be telling everyone about the incompetence of the staff may aswell stick with NHS I guess money can’t pay for healthcare now ! Disgraceful

What a wonderful experience at the hospital. Mr Hil completed an ultrasound scan on my thyroid today. I was so worried about what he would find, I felt in such good hands, he was professional, polite, calming reassuring and I felt that I could really trust his assessment and words. Mr Hil was very patient with me and showed me the images on the screen and educated me on his findings. Through no fault of his own Mr Hil was running a little behind, he was thankful for my patience while waiting and I was thankful of my experience of today. Good Covid procedures also.

Just seen what other patient had posted ! I was expecting surgery today but it got cancelled yesterday Due to loss of results ! I can’t believe a hospital (private) that could manage that .. dealing with incompetent staff would not make me want to put my life in there hands , my whole family had to quarantine aswell and we have been Told to still quarantine our holiday is now cancelled because we have no idea when surgery is . The outcome of this is devastating . Yet there has been no apology from the hospital ! DINT WASTE YOUR TIME disgraceful

Complete incompetent hospital ! Lost COVID results day before surgery yet I had 3 phone calls prior confirming surgery for the next day ! Waited along time for surgery ! NHS deal with millions of results yet you have a private hospital that losses an important test ! Completely incompetent - actually throughout the whole process the hospital have been incompetent SAVE YOUR MONEY GO ELSEWHERE

Disgusting care, nurses don’t understand how to treat patients. My wife (the most stoic person on the planet) was told that she was being a drama Queen for asking for pain medication after surgery. Any half decent nurse knows to give pain meds and mobilise the patient as quickly as possible, except for the nurses at this hospital apparently, patronising and condescending. Avoid this hopital at all costs

My partner was diagnosed with breast cancer back in April promised of surgery we’re made for 2nd January 2023 it was cancelled, rescheduled for 3rd, 4th, 5th and then the 7th January all cancelled promises we’re made to contact her with updates received nothing she’s had to chase them everyday to now we’re at the point of changing hospitals.. wouldn’t recommend these at all!!

I got referred here for a hernia repair. Mr Kahn did a great job of my surgery and was very informative and professional. I only had to stay for the day but found that the hospital ran like clock work with very short waiting times. All the staff I met were very polite and professional . Especially the lovely nurse who took care of me after my operation. Got my own room and en suite with Wi-Fi and tv. Foods great also!

I recently had to go into hospital for a minor surgical procedure performed under a general anaesthetic. I had, until this point, managed to avoid hospitals for 51 years and was VERY anxious indeed as I had no idea what to expect. The Surgeon, Mr Manu Patel, the Anaesthetist, Dr Mick Rothwell and indeed the entire staff were absolutely wonderful. I cannot thank them enough for the care and attention that they extended to me. I would have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending this hospital. Thank you.

All the staff here were absolutely excellent. As you can imagine I wasn’t looking forward to an operation on my own (thanks corona), but I felt really looked after, safe and like everyone genuinely cared. Thank you 🙏

Absolutely impossible to book a private appointment. Been on hold 5 times, people keep transferring my call and at the end I get cut off. I was asked to email the private referral to the Manchester email address which I did, no reply. Very disappointing call centre/reservations processes, totally impossible to book an appointment. Where are the good old days when we could just talk to a real competent person sitting at reception able to answer simple questions.

I have been under Professor Andrew Sinclair for a few years now I have had surgery performed by him and I can't say a bad word against him, he is very informative and caring, explains everything in great detail and doesn't try to fob you off. A true gentleman who takes pride in his work and always puts the patient first.

The consultant was great but found being a private patient wasn't very well explained. Received an extra £400 hospital charge that I wasn't explained would be added on to the package. Then when queried found I was overcharged and this was reduced to £200 which was better than the £400 but still more than originally quoted. My email address was input incorrectly even though I initially inquired by email so must have been mis typed so there was confusion as to why I didn't receive invoices. Then I get asked months later why I haven't paid the consultant charge but they took a copy of my card and said it would come out automatically 14 days after the procedure which the hospital charge did but not the consultant charge. All a little confusing so feel like this could have been better explained so private patients are aware of any extra hospital costs and what automatically comes off your card and what needs to be paid separately.

I have had an operation on the 15/11/23 and the consultant U.Khan was brilliant with the surgery and the nurses were fantastic , providing me a lot of care too, amazing service, receptionist was very welcoming. I’ve been providing a menu with a lot of choices and the food was delicious. The service was amazing! I have my own private room which was spotless. I am strongly recommending Spire Regency Hospital. I was made feel special and if I need to choose hospital in the future I will choose Spire.😊 Thanks for the support and care you provide it to me.

My experience at this hospital was, overall, very good. All the staff were friendly, professional and efficient. I would certainly recommend the Spire Regency but the parking is a bit of a nightmare. Not an easy fix, but is a problem at peak times.

Hospital provides high level of personal attention and care, I’m confident I received the highest level of care possible. If ever hospitals can be enjoyable then this was it. Attention to detail was exemplary. My surgeon Mr Barnes is clearly a leader in his field, support professionals were amazing. Special mention to Shelley in recovery, her smile before I went into theatre was captivating, her care while I was receiving my spinal injection was comforting and upon waking up …… there was that engaging smile again. Thank you to the Team at Spire Regency Hospital, Macclesfield.
