AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE We were initially ignored by 3 members of staff. Half an hour after entering the store, an elderly salesman asked if we needed any help. We explained our needs and that we needed help, to which he replied "go around and feel the carpets yourself. " He then promptly returned to eating his lunch on the shop floor. We then approached Mark for assistance. We found him to be extremely rude and unhelpful too. We next went to Carpetright. What a completely different experience. Met by friendly staff who were happy to help. United Carpets Altrincham will inevitably close due to their dreadful customer service and their employees will only have themselves to blame. Will not be returning.

Avoid at all cost, pushy salesman, week late delivery, sent one man for two man job expecting me to help and still pay delivery which I had to or not take the bed rudely said by raz the manger. Avoid avoid avoid

Fabulous experience with Chelsea and Gary!, Gary came to measure my living room hallway and stairs and Chelsea helped me find the right carpet and laminate for our home, I was also two packs short of my own fault and they had them delivered in a few days amazing customer service and punctuality

Placed the original order for carpets to be fitted throughout the stairs, landing and bedrooms, and laminate in the living room. There was a mix up with the fitting date which had to be done before we moved in the house. Have to say the manager Mark did everything he could to resolve the issue, not only did the job get the done, but I was also compensated for the inconvenience caused. Even with the issues I Would definitely recommend United carpets due to good reliable service & management from Mark.

Avoid at all costs. Purchased carpet for the whole house, and it arrived with the wrong measurements for the landing and one of the rooms. We had to rebook another fitting date for the remaining carpet which was extremely inconvenient as we were moving in next day. They were apologetic about it, but we were offered no compensation. The second issue is the quality of the fitting which is very poor, as the edge of the carpet is not tucked in along the stairs and in several rooms. Despite calling them in to fix this, the problem still persists. Very disappointed and definitely would not recommend.

Love my new carpet service was great and fitting perfect quality carpet and they’ve stored my hall stairs n landing carpet as I was waiting on decorater and in hospital for a while great people and the elderly gentleman was so helpful helping me to choose thanks guys !!!

Ordered hall stair carpet .all fine problem with fitter but the the manager came and sorted. Carpet on the up part of stair has started to become threadbare and holes are appearing. Guy who came round informed me it the way I walk down the stairs. At my age I have always come down same way never had a problem with original carpet that was down for over 8 years. Head office not interested but said replace and I pay £116 for fitting . Really not happy with quality or the attitude of the current managem AVOID AT ALL COST hence no star .

Be aware stay away from this branch rude incompetent staff and store manager chris last year I had my whole house all new flooring and I had laminate put down in my kitchen omg what a disgrace I have tried so many times to get this sorted out it was booked in for today Wednesday 2rd February with chris the store manager to find when I called yesterday to confirm the fitter had turned up last Wednesday I had spoken to chris this morning to try and sort this issue he was that unhelpful and rude STAY AWAY

Excellent service. The original carpet ordered had a minor fault and was replaced quickly and at no cost to us. Thanks to Chris and staff who were excellent.

My mum had vinyl flooring fitted in her kitchen last week. I came round to see how it looked, and the fitters have done an awful job. There’s all air pockets where the flooring hasn’t been stuck down properly in the middle. Dents all over where they’ve hit the floor when installing, and a hole they have done near the back door. Corners of the flooring aren’t stuck down properly, and you can just lift them with your fingers. For £700, you’d think the gaps round the skirting would be caulked/filled, nope. Nothing. They fitted a piece of metal at the back door, which was just stuck on top of the flooring, and they even managed to mess this up too, as that was never stuck down, it just slides and moves around. Fitters arrived at 9:53am and were done by 10:43. Not even an hour fitting vinyl flooring. I’d be impressed if they did a good job, but unfortunately they didn’t. It’s as if they try finishing jobs quickly so they can get onto the next. Called up to complain the same day and was told “it was Jeff who fitted this, I’ll have a word with him in the morning and give you a ring back”, still not had a phone call, and this is now 7 days ago. No phone call, no apology, no efforts to come and rectify the issues. Quality is poor compared to what we’ve replaced, and I can’t see this lasting longer than a year. Would NOT recommend this company at all, £700 for an awful installation, awful customer service, and not a slight care in the world.

Signed up for a carpet weeks ago, initially told the man I was in a rush as I had got rid of my sons bed, not informed that the carpet was not in stock, waited weeks finally got a slot for tmw, just had a phone call to say, they can’t do it now due to a fitters van being broke down, after reading the reviews starting to wish that I shouldn’t of ordered from here 🫠

We seen a double bed for our grandson he went down to see it. He loved and because it was on clearance they did him a really good deal. Lee and Chris was very good and did a great deal

Went in today for an entrance hall matt/carpet having been the carpet shop across the road first. United carpets was £10 cheaper, didn’t have a 7-10 day wait and the metal thing we had to buy was such better quality (brushed nickel) than the one quoted at the other shop. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful! Super friendly.

Ridiculous customer service in this branch,staff not bothered to build rapport with walkin Customers, we were asked to pay an upfront deposit to book a measurement survey which we did,survey was booked for Tuesday following week,no one turned up or even had courtesy to inform us about any internal staff hickups,we rang few times no answer,next day someone picked the phone and rebooked measurement appt for Saturday, again no one turned up,Due to all this we popped into a local shop who took measurements monday and provided quote next day,Wednesday we went to United carpets Altrincham branch again to get our deposit refund where a staff member who claimed to be area manager apologised for the inconvenience reason given was shortage of staff and said he will beat the quote given by our local carpet shop as a compensation and goodwill gesture, we showed him the invoice/quote and he promised a price cheaper to existing quote but said we will need to wait as they are short of staff but need to pay to place the order and will need room by room measurements,we asked to give us a day to come back with measurements room by room, we thought of going to cheadle branch to see if they can arrange a quicker measurement appt and match the quote to save time where we were told to go back to same branch as they cant match it which is very fair as no time wasted, we went to altrincham br again where the area mgr wasnt there and was asked to call in monday without even trying to help at all, we rang monday when the person who picked up was quite rude and unfriendly completely denied everything and said there is no such person by the name of John and kept the phone down. Why to waste anyone's time making false promises,afterall we just went there to take our refund and move on but they made our experience even worse. Absolutely unprofessional attitude as there was no botheration to even interact with us everytime we visited,they should give respect to customers as you are not giving a charity we are paying for it.

Reasonable prices and a good selection of quality vinyl. Nice and thick. Shen we went on Sunday we were the only customers there.

I bought carpet couple months ago from this branch. Carpet was absolutely fine but the fitters done really bad job with stair case. Hearing their conversation they were rushing for a football mach. I have paid for fitting but couple hours after examination staircase was really bad. Really bad cutting you can feel staples when you touching carpet. I had it enough so I fix it by myself if you consider buying carpet go on, but think twice about their offer for fitting. I won’t do any mistake like that ever.

Friendly and helpful service, new carpet is very good quality and well fitted, although slightly delayed I was kept informed about delivery and fitting dates. Would recommend United Carpets for good quality without paying the optimum prices.
