Charming and tasty restaurant in the heart of Delafield. We had a 6pm reservation on a Friday night and were promptly seated indoors. We could have waited 20 minutes to sit outside but declined. Service was very fast and friendly. Came and took our drink orders very quickly. The Sommelier Selection wine was very good and served in a chilled stone bucket. We started and really enjoyed the Bruschetta with Burrata. We ordered the pan fried walleye and Milanese chicken. Both were amazing! 5 stars all the way around for ambiance, service, and taste.

Cast iron chicken and Tuna Poke bowl were awesome! Salad was delicious but small for the price. Drop donuts and homemade ice cream were my daughters favorite! Cocktails, wine flight, and service from Amy made our night!

This was our first time here and we loved it! All the dishes we ordered were fantastic, but a couple notable mentions include the whipped feta, brussel sprouts, and short rib pasta. Service was very friendly and the converted church space was super cute!

This is a New American restaurant nestled in the heart of downtown Delafield. It’s one of the places that I’ve driven by hundreds of times with the intent to try. We made a reservation several days in advance for a Friday night. They were busy! Walking up would have been a 1 hour wait. If you want to eat here once the weather gets bad, it could be even worse. The seating area is limited inside. It was a beautiful night so we chose to sit on the patio. The ambience was quite nice…a small town alive at night. Service was a little slow due to the busy-ness, but not enough to be bothersome. One of the issues is that the servers have to go all the way inside to the bar; all in all one of the side effects of having a bustling patio service. I think the servers were putting in 15,000 steps a shift. We enjoyed our roasted cauliflower appetizer. It was fresh and crunchy with natural caramelization and Parmesan! The artichoke however was tough and inedible. We mentioned it to our server and she very graciously had it removed from our bill. We chalked it up to getting one of the bad ones since it appeared that other tables were enjoying their artichoke. My girlfriend had the risotto and loved it. It’s not often that she completely finishes a dish…especially after appetizers. I had the strip. It was cooked to a perfect medium rare. The side potatoes and asparagus were exceptional. This place has no illustrious of being a high-end steak house, but the it definitely hit the spot for me. The desserts looked amazing, but we were too stuffed to try one. I highly recommend!

So impressed with Belfre! First of all their food is PHENOMENAL, but recently it’s the only place I feel comfortable dining out due to COVID. They are SO clean, they space their tables appropriately and all of the servers wear masks. 10/10 would recommend

Of all the places to eat in Lake Country, Belfre Kitchen has by far some of the best food. I enjoyed the grilled prawns, a mule, and the falafel. My husband ordered the burger and an old fashioned and thought they were both delicious as well.

I’ve been to Belfre Kitchen 3 times recently. The food has always been mediocre (salmon, poke bowl with shrimp, lobster roll, several apps). If it were delicious it would be pricey but worth it. Because it’s mediocre, it’s simply overpriced. The staff (wait/host) is hit or miss. Had some wonderful, friendly, professional people. Unfortunately, we also had staff who acted more like self absorbed teenagers doing us a favor. I won’t be back. I would recommend going somewhere else.

We stopped here after walking the Ice Age Trail. We had our dog along which they allowed on the patio. [I am grateful for that]. I had a cup of tomato basil soup, tasted quite fresh. My husband had a salmon dish, and I had the Poke bowl, no protein added. Mine was delicious. I saw another review that said it was a small portion, nonsense! I needed a box to take some home. We also split the peach cream dessert. Fantastic! This is a place I have driven by often, but never stopped. Glad we did. High end food and great ambiance. I would recommend, and plan to return some time.

Crab cake Benedict is legit, real crab, real good. Cocktails are truly craft made. Ambiance is charming and modern. Prices are predictably lofty, but quality and craftsmanship are behind them. Enjoy.

OH MY! First Time here and I am at a loss for words! Place, Service, Food perfect in every which way! I am still eating my steak sandwich and fries so darn tasty best steak sandwich I have ever had. The flavors are delightful. I cant imagine what their other menu items are like. GREAT food, polite and attentive staff, historic building in an absolutely delightful and charming downtown. They even feature live music... What more could you want?! The GM even greeted us on our special day with complimentary bubbles and dessert. Belfre gets my vote for best restaurant in or around Delafield. 5 stars unless I can give more!

Highly recommend! The best dinner I've had in years. They have so much more than burgers but I think it was the best burger I've ever had.

Ambiance and decor provide a great first impression to the wonderful menu offerings. Fresh, distinct, and excellent pairings are the best way to describe the food. I had the beef carpaccio, bacon wrapped figs, lobster roll, and the BLT. I would recommend all of the above.

Love this place in quaint, little Delafield! Beautiful interior. Great outdoor seating, too. A bit more expensive, but totally worth it. Brandy Old Fashioned rimmed in sugar was good, gourmet burger with Nueske's bacon was great, and truffle fries were outstanding! How did I not know about this restaurant before?! P.S. Complete your dining experience with the hot Drop Donuts. INCREDIBLE! 😋😍

Sat at my table waiting for a waiter for 25 min before I had to ask another waitress when someone would be coming by to take my order. 10 minutes later a guy came. I let him know there was a bunch of brown and black stuff in my water. He came back and gave me a new one and the left and didn’t come back. Once again asked another waitress when they knew when the waiter would come back. She took my order and then about 5 minutes later the waiter came back and I told him the other waitress took my order. The waiter brought my syrup and a girl brought my side of bacon. Overall had little to no interaction with the waiter. Got the French 75 -very good French toast-very good Bacon- very good Side of fruit- good

I’ve eaten here multiple times both inside and out and it’s always been a wonderful experience. Every time I’m greeted by the hostess promptly and i always receive a friendly greeting. The food, drinks and service have always been amazing, even when they are very busy. Highly recommend!!!

Had been here before and loved the the food. This time the peach burrata salad was just a pile of arugula with very little peach or cheese and a few small slices of beef for $28. The lobster roll didn’t have much flavor. Was charged extra for truffle solo, which I hadn’t asked for. Disappointed in this visit. Service was attentive, though.

Whipped feta with fig was out of this world. Also delicious was the street corn, rice bowl and the avocado/chicken salad. Deserts were equally outstanding! Only negative was they were unfortunately out of the tuna (must have been good too!) Our server was helpful, cheerful and attentive! Also has a handicap access. Five stars!!

I was craving salmon and made several dining recommendations. However, there was a storm approaching, and we drove in the opposite direction towards sunlit Delafield. We had several options and chose BELFRE KITCHEN. We grabbed the first open parking spot on the street and walked a half block to the Belfre. It was crowded, but we were seated at the bar. Belfre's bartenders are excellent, and we enjoyed our Old Fashioneds: Southern Comfort, and a brandy. A table became available, and the hostess seated us in the loft. Much to our surprise, Mary and Nan, our beloved servers who formerly worked at another Delafield establishment, greeted us! I ordered Chicken Milanese, herb crusted chicken breast served with an arugula salad dusted with parmesan, which was delicious. The crusted chicken was moist with a flavorful, crispy coating. My daughter ordered the Japanese Rice Bowl with tuna. I had a chocolate martini for dessert, and my daughter's Butterscotch Bourbon Budino (Italian Pudding with sea salt) was so fantastic that I almost finished half of it before she finished the final bites of tuna. Yes, I know I craved salmon, and I've savored it at the Belfre previously. I'll order it on a return trip. The Belfre also serves breakfast and lunch. Return trips include breakfast for Salmon Cake Benedict and Avacado Chicken Salad for lunch.

We had delicious meals here this week at Belfre Kitchen. We were seated promptly (with reservations) and our service was attentive right away. The roasted cauliflower with bacon was a delicious appetizer. We - 4 of us - all picked something different for our entrees and were all pleased. There was one salmon, one pot pie, one lobster roll, and one pork tenderloin chosen. Super cute inside as it is a converted church. Downtown Delafield also offers some nice shopping and is easily walkable. Very happy we came here. Recommend!

Everything was so delicious! The bacon infused Bloody Mary was one the best ever and I loved the mimosa. The salmon cake Benedict and chorizo tacos were both very flavorful and tasted amazing.

This was the most amazing place! The service the food! The knowledge of our server! All 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

  • 1/5 Hasan D. 3 years ago on Google
Expensive and not flavorful, very little portion. We ordered poke bowl with salmon which costs $26!! and def. not worth the price. It seemed salmon did not belong in poke bowl was rather a pre made salmon tossed in poke bowl. The avacado sandwhich was not flavorful, just tasted like cheese sandwich stuffed with avacado for $17!! . Next we ordered avacado salad with falafel, was just greens and falafel was not great taste. Liked the sweet potatoes and the mustard sauce that comes with it. Ambience is good but some of the seats have lost cushion and old.

Not worth the money at all. I ordered the lobster roll which was $23 and to have soup it cost another $2. The lobster roll was very small and hardly filled (maybe 2 Tablespoons) I left there hungry after spending $37 on one meal. Definitely overrated.

Belfre Kitchen has done a fabulous job of take out service, with their curbside pick up. We love the patio seating and the inside is so cozy. We love the food and craft cocktails/mocktails there! The drop doughnuts are just ridiculously good. Staff is helpful, well trained, and responsive. Definite place to visit in downtown Delafield.

Great burgers and excellent fries! I absolutely love their burgers! I haven't tried any other menu items (except the donuts - more on that later) but the burgers and fries are fab! The combo plate comes with this seasoned sauce (ask for more, you will run out and its so dang good you'll want another) to dip burgers and fries in. I am not a french fry person but the seasoned fries they serve are not your average run of the mill fries. I have had plenty of adult beverages there too and no complaints! On your birthday you will get free of charge warm donut holes with a sparkler! Not your birthday you say? Order them! They hit the spot with fresh coffee and top off your burger & fries platter. Been there quite a few times, its my go to spot with friends and family.

Our first experience in a dome at the restaurant started off well but continued to sort of become more of a buzzkill. The food tasted great and was presented beautifully, but many ingredients in our dishes we ordered were not specified on the menu for that item and would have likely ordered something else as a result. It took an hour for dinner to come and the service was not good. We were left waiting for a check so long that I had to walk inside to ask for it. Upon walking in, there were at least 6 employees standing around and just chatting. For the price of our dinners (2 drinks a piece and two dinners being 100 dollars), I wish the service was a bit better. Would absolutely comeback if service improves.

Belfre Kitchen is a wonderful place to dine. We ate in one of the domes which was a unique dining experience and warm on a cold Wisconsin night. When we walked in the restaurant door, we were immediately greeted and escorted to our dome. Our server, Nan, was very friendly and attentive. She explained the entrees and answered all our questions. The food was absolutely delicious. The pasta with short ribs is not to be missed. The spiced donut holes, for dessert, were a wonderful way to end our meal. Gerard, the manager, was friendly and insured all our needs were met. We will return

The domes experience was wonderful too..with sun out we were so warm and comfortable.. thoroughly enjoyed eating there

Where do I start!? Love the building and ambiance. Love the outdoor seating. Food is awesome! Just had the poke bowl with yellowfin tuna and was hesitant. I was worried it wouldn't live up to one of the restaurants who only go poke bowls. I was so happy I was wrong!! It was better!! And the avocado toast...drool worthy. Great service too. The Cabernet Sauvignon from France was also perfect.

last saturday seated for outdoor lunch. watched as tables around us were cleaned. multiple tables were seated and provided drinks etc. right next to our table. Moral of the story nobody ever came back to provide service to us. Lucky it was a sunny day but after 25 minutes we received the hint this restaurant is unorganized & not service oriented. We stood up and walked out with not one person recognizing us. disappointed as i heard nice things about this place. ):

First and foremost I want to say how much I appreciated how COVID safe this restaurant is. We went to dinner here this evening and this was the first time we have eaten inside since the pandemic began and all of the staff were wearing their masks properly, the tables were spaced out and I saw them thoroughly cleaning each table after use. This was SO appreciated!! My boyfriend and I were unsure how safe it was going to be because the lake country area is not known for taking the pandemic all too seriously, but I was relieved to see that belfre was taking it very seriously and because of this we will definitely be back!! The ambiance of this restaurant is awesome and the staff is great, you can tell everyone who works here truly cares about doing a good job. I’ve been particularly impressed by the gentlemen who usually seats us (I think he might be the manager or owner), he’s always so friendly and checks back in to make sure we are enjoying our food. Everything we’ve eaten here has been excellent. The menu is very creative, which we love, however a picky eater might have a slightly harder time finding something. The only critiques I would have is that certain things on the menu seem a bit pricey, some of the appetizers and drinks for example. I also think they could use a couple more staple options that are more familiar so our picky eater friends will come along. Overall I really enjoy coming here and will continue to come back, especially for the brunch!

Very good food. Waitress was mediocre (lunch, 10/20). Many hard surfaces and cathedral ceiling making voices/noises bounce, fabric wall panels would help.

Been here for lunch and dinner several times. Relatively higher price, but consistently good food and service, so I’m ok with the relative value. Lobster rolls can be a gamble outside the northeast, but theirs was consistently good. My wife had a seared tuna on the seasonal risotto. Risotto was great, but tuna was just ok; not as good as our other meals. Great cocktails. Good dessert. We had the donut holes and highly recommend adding vanilla ice cream to it.

  • 2/5 Ann S. 3 years ago on Google
This place is definitely for light eaters. We each had a salad that could have used more greens and chicken. It was pretty expensive and tasteless with the bare minimum of dressing on the salad, some corn and a sprinkling of toasted almonds. There was half a small, bare avocado on top and a small dried out fig on top of the avocado. The description on the menu sounded good but it totally failed in the execution. It would be great for dieters looking for a low cal meal.

Amazing food and great design and decor. Mimosas are also great!

  • 3/5 Nick M. 3 years ago on Google
Most of the meal was good. Cocktails were good. But overall nothing to write home about, and for such a high price point, there should be something that impresses. And I would never judge a nice restaurant by a kids entree, but they cut their pesto with ALOT of spinach and it was terrible. Seems like a cost savings measure. Kids wouldn’t eat it. I wouldn’t eat it either. Super bitter. Again, for the overall price point, seems like an unnecessary cost savings tactic that didn’t work.

An enjoyable lunch with family. The nice waitress sting armed the umbrella into position to prevent us from wilting in the mid-day sun. Food was well prepared and we had happy tummies all around. We were tempted into desert with nice topped the lunch.
