    Asian guy in their is so rude. Honestly needs a speaking to as his attitude stinks. If you don't want to help don't work in the bank go find a job where you don't work with customers;

    An attendant of middle Eastern descent ignores customers who are quite obviously looking at him in need of service ; instead of doing his job, he's having a conversation that is not work or customer service related at all. When he did get to me after an hour of waiting, he said that I need an appointment to switch my account; despite the website stating you DON'T need one, and one of the management team telling me to just come in with all my ID any day and they'll switch right there and then. The attendant started being disrespectful and insisted that I need an appointment, despite me showing him that the website says otherwise. If he was wearing his name tag I'd make a formal complaint against him, as he's unprofessional and obviously uninformed.

    Easy, quick, painless and I got done what I'd set out to do. And thank goodness that the branch isn't under threat of closure. Having said that, I wouldn't recommend Halifax in general as a bank. Mainly because I will forever be overdrawn (unless I win the lottery) because of their punitive charges. There's also an issue with the fact that despite them texting me several times a month they appeared to have a phone number on record for me that I haven't used for at least a decade. And then there's the online banking issue. Each to their own, but I don't even want to do telephone banking, never mind online. To this end, when I was first offered online banking I requested that a note be added to my account stating that if anyone ever requested phone or online banking then it would be a fraud and both myself and the police should be alerted. Several years later I was contacted by the Halifax informing me that as per my request online banking had been activated. I made 3 separate complaints, over the course of several months, to their own corporate complaints department. Didn't get any response of any description!!

    Very rude staff. 1) Hazel, 2) Scott, 3) Blonde bob woman (wouldn’t tell me her name). What a dreadfully rude trio. Rudeness oozed from the words and tone of voice to her expressions in the one called Hazel’s face. When I questioned something I was told as it didn’t make sense. I was told by a different women that I always argue with them every time. This was the woman with the Bob cut that wouldn’t give me her name so I could complain. I told her I’ve had arguments twice in Halifax. Both were with the bobbed one. Once was when I walked in with my little cockapoo dog to pay some cash in and once was on this occasion. She replied with “yeah, every time.” Another employee came over apparently called Scott. He too was joining in the being rude situation. To be clear, I went in to pay cash in. After around 10 minutes of the machine not accepting some of the cash I thought to turn around to see if I could deal with it with a cashier. The cashier called Hazel asked me what I wanted, so I told her the machine wouldn’t take my money. She then said to stand and wait. She seemed to point somewhere around the front but it wasn’t exactly clear what she was pointing at. There were 2 cashiers serving at either end of the counter. In front of each cashier in line with the what appeared to be a barrier there were stickers on the floor saying something along the lines of ‘Stand Here’ as shown in the photo. I was already close to the 'Stand Here' floor sticker at the right of the counter so I stood there. Hazel then said I am standing in the wrong place. I was told the queue was at the left of the counter. Bear in mind there was not a single sign nor were there any people queuing so to me, both ends looked the same. I then went to the sticker on the floor to the left that said 'Stand Here' and was told that I needed to stand in the centre of the barrier where the gap is and not actually stand on the 'Stand Here' sticker. When I suggested that they put a sign indicating where to queue from, this seemed to start the two women I mentioned on a joint 'be rude to the customer who asks a question or gives a suggestion' campaign. By this point the desk at the right hand side was free and it was my turn. Worth mentioning the young lady serving me was very polite and clearly hasn't become part of the rude team. This strange conversation I was having now had the rude Scott to the equation. Firstly they seemed to have social distance stickers in the bank but Scott and the old woman with the Bob seemed to be standing almost touching. Maybe they're a couple anyway. Who knows, but that would explain why he came and joined in saying they don't need to serve me. My cash was already down and waiting to be taken at this point as I was having this odd 'conversation' whilst the transaction was taking place. Cashier named Hazel decided to contribute again and said I should not be paying cash in to a cashier. I told her it was not working for me. She then said that I should have walked over to the guy called Scott stood at the door. I told Hazel that she asked me what I wanted, I didn't have chance to get the attention of Scott. She just shrugged her shoulders. She then said with a smile on here face (very surprised to see a smile by the way) "let's close his account, we can do that." Which is when Scott seemed to perk up with excitement and started to write my account details down and told me he was closing my account. I asked to see the manager and both Bob woman and Scott said no. Meanwhile the lady who served me seemed to be coping with the situation very well. It seemed she was all too used to the unprofessional behaviour of her colleagues. Eventually 5 minutes later, the bank manager came down. I explained what happened. As I was explaining, the rude one called Hazel still felt the need to shout over something. The manager told me that my account was not closed 'on this occasion.' The occasion of me making a suggestion and then staff being rude which resulted in a conversation. Great stuff. Keep up the good work.

    All the ladies are very attentive, but there is a guy who gives very bad attention and who tries to make you leave the bank quickly and if he has helped in nothing, he is a Pakistani man, very bad attention from him and apart from that angry.

    Customer service is shockingly bad, staff are rude and act like the public coming in is an inconvenience. Couldn’t smile if they tried and are demanding when at the desk.

    I have been with this building society for over 20 year's & I understand that they have to be catious & safe when it comes to people wanting to draw money out of an account when they don't have any identification but i sent my partner to put some money in my account but because i hadn't given him any sort of I.d they refused to do it. Why refuse him when he was paying money into my account? I don't understand it. I have also tried to change the address on my account as it's in my mother's address but i no longer live there but they wouldn't do that for me either even though i could answer all the security questions. I have to keep going to my mums to collect my mail I.e my bank statements. I will say one thing they do try to help they always have a member of staff asking people who are in the queue if they can help so they don't have to stay in the queue if it's something that another member of staff can help with your query.

    Whenever i have gone into my local Halifax branch i have never felt that they have been very helpful. I have always seemed to get alot more help whenever i have rang their freephone number & spoke to one of their advisors on the phone. I have been with Halifax for over 22 years so it can't be all bad

    Horrible customer service. I just came 1 minute after 1pm and they didn’t let me in. I was with 2 little children, our car is broken and just needed to take £ 2 000 to buy a car tomorrow. I am a . single father and can’t put them to school on Monday (17 miles). I explained emergency situation and asked to speak with a manager. They even didn’t bother to ask manager even if I beg them. I won’t be able take out this amount from cash machine. Shame that after many years with Halifax I could not have normal conversation, just unpleasant chat through the glass
