The Tasting Room is one of my favorite fine dining spots in Frederick. The service, presentation, and the food/drinks are always immaculate! Something I like about The Tasting Room, they have a seasonal menu but the staples don't change! So you always have the classics to fall back on if you don't want to try something new. You want to dress at least business casual. TR is a little pricey but totally worth it! I would NOT recommend bringing children here.

The food was great and the waiter was so sweet. The bar tender was also so sweet. The experience overall was a great one. I had the lobster bisque and the lobster omelette. I went for brunch. It is a little pricey, but I promise it is worth it. Even the salad was great.

This is our favorite restaurant! We’ve ate their 3 times and each time has been phenomenal. Try the lobster corn chowder, it’s so velvety smooth and delicious. Wine flights are my favorite too. I live about an hour and a half away and have traveled just to eat here. Atmosphere is upscale and modern, my recommendation is to always make reservations though if you plan to eat here because it can get very busy- for good reason. Definitely will be back again soon!

Amazing! The waiter was attentive and friendly. The homemade bread they put on the table alone was fantastic (we even asked to purchase it out right). We got the fish & chips and the Korean Fried Chicken sandwich. Food looked really good and was mouth watering. Best fish & chips I have ever had. Honestly you will be so happy you stopped by.

The tasting room was delightful. We came here to celebrate my husband's birthday. Our two appetizers were delectable - beef tartar and octopus. My dinner choice of scallops was perfectly cooked, my husband's shrimp gumbo was pretty good. The dessert of blueberry Pavlova was a perfect combination of sweet and crunchy and a little sour and creamy. Definitely recommend! Our server was perfect. She brought my husband a little birthday candle on a platter with little treats! Great experience.

I don’t recall exactly what I got, but I dined here solo and the service was excellent. I had a very noisy party in the rear near me and the staff anticipated that I’d want to move to a better spot in the restaurant and proactively got a table ready for me! I had steak and another drink which both made for a great combo! The menu is very small, however, I don’t think you could possibly go wrong trying out this spot! A beautiful ambiance, great service and great menu options!

Must try! My fiance & I went on my birthday for dinner & so glad we did. Located conveniently in downtown Frederick. It was a busy weekday evening & we did not make reservations, so we waited for about 15 minutes. The hostess was great & we opted to sit inside, although they did have patio seating available. Our servers, Marco & Jessica, delivered excellent customer service & were very friendly & attentive. We ordered the Lily Pad & Blueberry Lenonade cocktails, which were delicious & well balanced. We ordered the mussels, crab cakes & house salad...everything was amazing!! They even brought out a dessert sampler with a candle for my birthday, which was a lovely touch. Excellent experience & looking forward to returning soon!

We came here for an extremely pleasant brunch. The staff was fast, friendly, and courteous. The food was extremely well crafted with delicate tasting notes and robust spices. For an appetizer, we had the crab dip. For our entrees, my husband had the spicy chicken, which was spectacular, and I had the salmon cakes. Drinks are phenomenal and well worth their price.

Really enjoyed my meal here. On the pricey side but everything was very good. The carpaccio app was crazy good. This is for sure one of the top restaurants in Fredrick.

Visited The Tasting Room for the first time last night and had an amazing experience. For a Tuesday it was busy, so I would definitely recommend making a reservation. The service was wonderful from start to finish. The drink menu is extensive, which includes some creative and quite delicious options - highly recommend "Green with Envy" and the "Black Martini." The dinner menu is slightly limited, but still offers something for every palate. The food is thoughtfully prepared and artistically plated with fresh and exciting ingredients. The portions are on the smaller side which leaves plenty of room to make it to dessert - do yourself a flavor and stick around for tiramisu or the rhubarb cheesecake! The only slight downfall was the restaurant is very loud making it difficult to hold a conversation, i might recommend outdoor seating if this would be a problem for you. Will definitely be coming back for more.

If I could give 10 stars, I would. From start to finish, this is the best restaurant we’ve been to, second only to the 95th floor of the Hancock building in Chicago. Service was 100%. Food, 100%. Drinks — 100%.

Great ambience and service. You should dress up for the ocasion but it is not mandatory. Paul was our Server today and he did a great job. The food is fantastic and really original. Good fine dining place. There is a parking lot to park your car in less that a block away and also many street parking spots. Easy to park I mean.

Overall not impressed at all. We’ve tried this place once before & thought they might be having an off day. But now we know it wasn’t off. Tried it again for my husbands birthday dinner & we left very disappointed. His steak came out medium well done when he ordered it medium rare. Our table service was underwhelming with our waitress seemingly more excited to chat with her coworkers within our earshot & eyesight, then actually do proper table service. The combinations of mirin sauces & shrimp, was odd at best. And the combos of odd sauces continued with our entrees as well. Overall, if you’re looking for a try hard restaurant with poor waitstaff, this is a good spot. But if you’d rather quality food with well thought out pairings, try monocacy crossing instead. What we ordered: Starter: Panko shrimp with mirin sauce for dipping Drinks: Blackberry mule Green with envy (this was a fabulous drink. One star for this drink alone) Dinner: NY Steak with potatoes au gratin Lump crab cakes with Brussels sprouts

I met a friend here for dinner and drinks and I love this restaurant. It’s crazy I can’t believe that I’ve never been to this restaurant before. I love how Frederick has so many gems to choose from for great food. If you’ve never been to The Tasting Room it’s perfect for date night, girls night out (which is what I did), or for cool place to chill and relax at the bar solo. Let me begin by saying that our waitress, Jessica, was so helpful and knowledgeable of the menu to make suggestions on food and drink options. She was so polite and welcoming, and I immediately I felt like this restaurant was on point with the service. The cocktails were amazing. I had the Blueberry Lemonade & Summer Sangria, and my friend had a Aperol Spritz with Gin. We also had wine with our entree’s Our food was delicious! We started with the crab dip, and it was good. I ordered the NY Strip and it was so good, but my only issue is that I ordered it to be cooked medium. The first one was overcooked, and Jessica and the Manager offered for it to be sent back and replaced with a new one. I have to give it to them because, they were so nice about it and quickly brought out a new one. The second was cooked the way I liked it, but because they put it on a “hot plate” it continued to cook. So by the time I got to the end of the steak it was well done, and I lost interest in finishing it. Even though I really wanted to finish it and the steak was such a great cut, seasoned to perfection, and delicious otherwise. The side dishes were really good as well. Finally, I usually don’t have any room for dessert, but because the food was the perfect portions and not “heavy,” I was able to have dessert. So, my friend and split the Creme Brûlée. OMGOODNESS! So good! The strawberry compote made it even better for me! I loved it! It was perfect! If you’re thinking about checking out The Tasting Room, I definitely recommend it and I will be returning

Great restaurant. My mom and I went for dinner and the service was great; the staff was super friendly and fun. We started with the pear salad which was the perfect way to start the meal. We also got the crispy artichokes which were amazing. Easily the best artichokes that I’ve gotten out and my mom agreed. As an entree we got the short rib, which was delicious, and a side of brussel sprouts. We ended up splitting all of the food we got. The only thing about this restaurant is that it is pricey, so I wouldn’t really go here for a casual meal. Overall, great food, great service, but a little on the pricier side.

What a wonderful Dinner! Cocktails were great, they have an extensive Drinks Menu. Lovely outdoor seating. Appetizers were artichoke hearts and shrimp, both great. My husband had the duck and I had Chilean Sea Bass and we both had dessert. Everything was excellent. As was our server Alex. Will definitely return!

4 Stars We were in the area about two weeks ago and looking for a happy hour spot. This place had great reviews. It's in a good location, on a corner. Sat at the bar. (It was a tad tight.) We had two drinks (Walk the Plank and Sangria) and appetizers (French Fries and Kofte). The drinks were decent, not watered down. Our server was attentive and helpful. Would try again if in area again.

Took my boyfriend here for his birthday last night (both of our first times here) - upon entering, the staff immediately wished him a happy birthday and seated us 20 minutes before our reservation time. The food was immaculate and the service was better than expected!!! I ordered a drink which I ended up not really enjoying (my mistake, not theirs) and my server immediately brought me another option and took the other one off our bill!!! When we got the check, they brought my boyfriend a little birthday surprise, which was super unexpected and delicious!!! We will definitely be returning.

The Nova Scotia halibut was tasty and well-presented (photo). Blackberry lime cheesecake for dessert was especially good. With a 5pm reservation, service was extraordinarily fast, although would have slowed down as the place filled up later

This downtown Frederick icon is one of our favorites! We have been to the Tasting Room many times over the years, and in spite of changing ownership a few years ago, it has maintained its high standards of excellent menu choices, beautifully presented and delicious food, and excellent service. We enjoy going here for long, romantic dinners. Even when it is busy, the ambiance is soft and relaxing. They always have great bar drinks, and a good selection of liquors, as well as a great wine list. Be sure to try their amazing and decadent lobster bisque (my favorite anywhere!), and their lobster mashed potatoes. Also, their jumbo lump crab cakes are probably the best that you will ever eat in Maryland or anywhere else. We also enjoy just stopping off here for lunch, or for a few drinks and snacks at the bar. It is a really popular place, for good reason, so be sure to make a reservation, if you want to be seated at a table. Bar seating is open, but it stays pretty busy, so later in the evening or on weekends, you may have to wait a bit. Be sure to check this off your list if you visit Frederick, or try it out a few times when you are in the downtown area. You won’t be disappointed!!
