I thought I’d give this place a try given its reasonable prices for its menu. However, it was apparent that its quality reflects it. Anything fried was extremely greasy and lack flavour, suggesting the lack of preparation of proper marination beforehand. The sushi was arguably the only decent thing we had, but the nori sheets(seaweed sheets) was obviously either poor quality or old, as it was chewy and stale. Good quality nori should be crunchy and break easily when eaten. The orange slices in my partner’s bento box was saturated by the grease from the neighbouring fried veg(totally unnecessary) which meant it just tasted of grease/fat. However, there were some good experiences out of my time dining there: the customer service was great and welcoming. The decoration was great with the koi fish ponds, although I can’t imagine the fishes are happy with essentially no lighting surrounded by 4 black walls. Overall, wasn’t a great experience therefore, I do not recommend coming here, as an Asian, unless you don’t mind bad food for decent decorations.

Nice Japanese food experience in Leeds. Great selection of vegetarian and vegan versions of classic meaty and seafood meals. Chilled atmosphere and very friendly service are a plus. Recommended for families and romantic dinners alike.

It's a long-established place that I'd somehow never been to before, but we came this time on the recommendation of a friend. So glad we did! The atmosphere and staff are lively and the food was great! The dumplings and gyozas are fresh and tasty and I'd particularly recommend the eel. We came as a walk-in couple on a Sunday afternoon but I suspect the place gets busy and it might be best to book ahead (especially for bigger parties like the birthday group who were in there, who got a sparkly candle and happy birthday music on the sound system). Highly recommended.

The atmosphere and decor of this restaurant is in my opinion what makes it stand out to me, the beautiful use of plants, woodwork and water features really bring this place to life. The food was good, offering a wide range of options for meat eaters and veggie/vegans alike. I attended for the occasion of my friends birthday dinner and it was a real crowd pleaser as well as having a slightly more upscale feel without the prices being extortionate. Among us we samples the sushi, ramens, fried rice and noodle dishes and all were a hit.

Amazing ambience and decor, it was like being transported to a Japanese oasis complete with coy carp swimming under a wooden bridge. Was here for lunch with colleagues, set lunch meals were all very tempting. Service was quick and food was great. Ordered the chicken udon noodles with prawn crackers. The chicken was crispy on the outside and full of flavour, udon was plump and sumptuous and with the sauce it was the gastronomic equivalent of getting a hug. I will definitely be coming back to try the other dishes.

I’ll start by saying a lot of other food I saw looked good however what I had was not good. I had the special Raman noodle soup. It was the absolute worst I’ve ever had at any Japanese restaurant. It had slices of garlic filled polish sausage, the egg wasn’t soft boiled, the chicken was bland, the fish was frozen battered stuff that was not designed to be soaked in soup, the soup was clearly some powdered version mixed with water and the noodles were the exact same as cheap 10p packs instant noodles. The whole concoction was bland at best I didn’t fully finish it either.

The food here is absolutely amazing and I cannot recommend this enough. The staff are so friendly and were more than happy to help. The food was also unreal, the best sushi I've had in UK and the chicken Karaage starter was by far my favourite.

The service was not polite. We had to ask for a vacancy at the entrance. No one came to us within 15 minutes. Restaurant was not busy. The waitress was busy with something on her phone, the other two gentlemen were talking to each other. No greeting or farewell.

Very welcoming, authentic Japanese restaurant, staff were very knowledgeable about the menu, and attentive but not over bearing. The food was amazing and the home made chrysanthemum tea was just right. Just wish I could have tried more off the menu it all looked so nice

Fantastic dinner here! It was really nice to be able to have a number of different dishes to try. Some unusual drinks on offer too which were very refreshing and a great balance to the saltiness of the soy sauce. Lovely staff, great food AND ponds with koi in. In the middle of Leeds!

King prawn bento box is an absolute winner with the right portion size and excellent taste . The soft shell crab starter is spot on with the flavours- not too salty or spicy and with the right crunch. A choice of gluten free menu and within walking distance of most car parks . Highly recommended.

What a superb place. My sister has been to Japan and said it was very authentic. My 10year nephew had this as his birthday treat meal. We left no scraps. Food A M A Z I N G

I have been twice and neither time, have I been disappointed! Both times I have gone for the Bento box and I enjoyed it that much I am going to struggle to pick something the next time I go! They pack a lot in to such a small place to build the atmosphere and I couldn’t suggest it more to people who enjoy Japanese and Eastern food.

Was recommended by a few people, but it was not great. I ordered meal 8 on the lunchtime menu, which is veggie and got served pork :/ . Also, the natural herbal coke is not good (served in a sauce jar?) didn't stay. See pic. Very disappointing. It seems like it would've been a nice place 5 years ago...

No enthusiasm from staff, soft shell crab was bland and over priced for the portion. Everything was served with shredded iceberg lettuce and the ramen noodles were tasteless. First and last time for me

I always wanted to try this place and managed to book a table during the 50% off. The restaurant is nice and the food is very good, they have a lot of choice even for vegetarians/vegans. Service was pretty slow but the place was packed because of the offer so I understand they were probably struggling a bit. I tried the vegan chicken and didn't like it much to be honest, was very chewy, all the rest was delicious. Will go again and try something different.

We were lucky to get in without a reservation after an early evening cinema trip. It'd been many years since my husband and I had visited. Pleased to report its still just as good. We both ordered bento boxes and everything was fresh and tasty and served very quickly. Cannot complain. Next time we will opt for a sushi platter - that look amazing (serious food envy!)

Wonderful food and a fantastic vegetarian/vegan selection. Really cute vibe too with table designed to look like you're sitting on the floor. Good (and very quick) service too. Prices are reasonable and generally a lovely place

Went there last Saturday early evening as a party of 4, as a first visit for all of us.All the staff wore masks, as did most customers when walking too and from their tables. Quality of food was excellent and the portion sizes for both starters and main courses were just right. Service was very friendly but had to remind them both for our drinks order and then for the bill even though it didn't seem terribly busy. More concerning was the lack of soap/gel in the gents toilets or a working dryer for your hands .

Our meals were delicious, great quantity and fair prices except maybe our starters. Sushi were big size and noodle soup was bottomless. Menu is online, you scan a QR code on the table to access it which is very good during this covid period. Meals on the menu are well explained. Try their chrysanthemum and honey drink, it's so soothing! They made a to-go bag with what I couldn't finish so I can enjoy a bite of Japan at home. Sake is available for £5 (6 shots). The restaurant itself is very confortable, plugs are available under the tables to charge your phones if you had a long day in Leeds. The atmosphere feels very authentic. The staff was welcoming and polite, wore masks the whole time, very good in these times. On a busy Saturday night they still made themselves as available as possible. Only issue is the downstairs bathroom which was in a shed and very grim, like in a camping area. You can tell they tried their best to make it comfortable and welcoming with candles and decorations. I hope they get the opportunity to renovate it soon because it is the only part of the restaurant that was not nice.

Some of my friends went there and had some different comments on this place. Tasty asian foods with good presentation. We decided to visit and we stood at the entrance for several minutes but no one came to serve or asked us anything. Wasn’t a good experience and we left. But the decor of this place seemed fancy and nice, could be an interesting place to have dinner and spend some time with friends.

I just popped in during a shop around Leeds, and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food! 😋 The portions were just the right size and the prices were extremely reasonable. I will definitely be visiting again the next time I need to eat when in Leeds! Highly recommended 👌

Absolutely fantastic food, such a great find!! If you love japenese food this is the place for you. Food is fresh and presented well. Staff are friendly and helpful. We went on a sunday so could book a spot to feed the koi karp, my nephew loved this!! Such a nice little activity to do. The dim sum was delicious and definitely a dish too try. Will be back 😊

A bit disappointed. I wish the food was less greasy. Perhaps the oil wasn't hot enough when deep frying. Also staff was quite slow in taking the order and main came too early, when we were still eating the starter, I felt a bit rushed. And for those who don't like to use chopsticks, you will get a wooden takeaway fork like in the chippy, not very handy.

  • 4/5 Marta K. 6 months ago on Google
The atmosphere in the restaurant is ok, inside there is a small pool with koi fish. The menu has a large selection, the portions are just right, not too big and not too small. If you order a starter and lunch, you should be full, the prices are a bit too high for the amount of food served on the plate. It's worth trying, but not enough to eat every day.

I have been recommended this restaurant but I have to said wasn’t what I expect it look ok but when you get in is two type of decorations and both look out of date. The menu well a print paper very dirty. Food was good but I think the wooden spoon for the soup I concerned about hygiene.. so my experience wasn’t what I was expecting. Do I recommend well if you are expecting fine dining I guess not but it look busy Do I will return? I guess I won’t I will look for another’s one.

Although the price is quite high, the foods are very delicious! My friend and I ordered bento box, not only the main dish taste wonderful, side dishes are also great. Tempura and mixed fry is my favorite ❤️ The environment is comfy too, is a good place for celebration.

Fast service with food and drink, friendly staff, great food quality. Their home made lemonades are great, and I really liked their vegetable ramen. As we went on a Monday lunchtime, we went for the lunchtime deal, an you get a nice selection to choose from. Even outside of the deal, prices are reasonable, the venue itself has interesting tables, and there are Koi in a little indoor pond.

Drove through from Harrogate with high expectations but we were bitterly disappointed by the lack of stock and the quality of the sushi and the service. To say the tuna maki and salmon maki were fresh is an understatement! My wife found it to be inedible and we had to ask for our drinks twice which never materialised. At least my daughter enjoyed the edmame beans, bravo for being able to boil a few beans and add salt!

Beautiful authentic food, you should try the profiteroles, nothing like anything I tasted before! Staff is very attentive and courteous. Service was a little slow but understandably so given how busy they were. We had not booked and were still seated within 20 minutes of arrival but booking is recommended. Will be back again, there is so much more to try!
