My 6 year old son and I visited to watch Sonic 2. We used the machines to purchase our tickets but did need some help with this as it wasn't scanning my QR code properly. We also purchased a drink via the machine which was a straightforward process and didn't take long to be served. We got to see a 'dinosaur' walking around, who greeted my son much to his delight (it was promoting the new Jurassic Park movie). The cinema was clean and I would visit again.

Queued for 10 mins to order food. Then queued for 10 mins to get it. Almost missed the film. Automated service needs looking at, wholly inefficient. Was better when it was just people you could talk to.

Once a cinema I preferred, I now don't want to go back. The IMAX cinemas with premium seats (electric recliners with personal lap tables) are good, but the regular screens are no better than a decent home setup. The concessions area is a shambles. Messy, crowded and understaffed with a huge pivot away from service and towards a hands-off self-service system with an obvious emphasis on cutting their running costs... While maintaining a premium price point. You make your order on a screen (this while is not ideal, I can understand as a way to be more efficient). The popcorn is bought in pre-popped. It's manhandled in huge bin-liner sized clear bags, walked down the till line (which they try not to use because of the aforementioned self-service order screens) and with little shame, they pass the existing and now unused popcorn popping machine, to be decanted into a storage bin/popcorn warmer-upper... To then be portioned out. You wait in an unorganized cattle pen for your number to be whispered above the noisey lobby. Want a soft drink to go with your pre-popped corn? Here's a cup.... Fill it yourself!! Want somewhere to put your food while you fill your cup? Denied!! With all this improved efficiency, are you worried you might miss the start of your movie? Tough luck, the drink that you're trying to fill (while juggling the lid(s), straw(s) and any food you've got), well the cup will fill with froth from about half way... You wait for it to die down, then top it up.... About 6 times... Seriously, it takes forever!! You can see how some people decide to forego their fair share because of the embarrassment and awkwardness of holding up other patrons. Also... There's no option for ice, so your price gouged drink warms up quicker throughout the movie. The toilets are clean.... So there's that.

I saw Dune last night here and just didn't like the experience. Ticket buying is slow, snack buying seems chaotic. The screen we were in left the ceiling lights on during the whole film and between those and the stair lights, the cinema experience is kind of lost - they're just distracting. During the darkest scenes, everyone was lit up and one of the ceiling lights lit the right hand side of the screen. But it was clean, reasonably comfortable and the sound was good. Better suited for kids and family films I guess.

Had a nightmare trying to book seats and food on line and by time I eventually got to payment stage and had to confirm payment on bank app', the Odeon site timed out. Had to go to cinema to get sorted. Lots of credit to Jordan, the Manager on shift. He was more than helpful with booking and reassuring about the 'Pending' payment I'd made. After years of not being to a cinema it turned out to be a great experience for son in law and myself. Thank you Jordan and staff team.

Mixed experiences. The IMAX and Dolby screens are impressive, the recliner seats are a great addition and have a little table to place down snacks, very comfortable and a great viewing experience and great sound. Sadly, the smaller screens aren't a great viewing experience and seats were uncomfortable. Cup holder for drinks but nowhere to place anything else you may purchase. I'd probably avoid movies only showing in those smaller screens in future, and wait to view those movies at home. The concessions area of the cinema was vastly understaffed and it became apparent cut backs are everywhere. Guided to touch screens to order, several screens broken and discarded receipts on the floor. Moving to a waiting area to have a number called, super noisy so hard to hear your number being called and screen at service counter saying order ready was not being updated. Popcorn was being brought in pre-cooked and cold, in large clear bags and scooped into the cartons. Soft drinks are now self pour and the machines cut out after a certain amount, meaning it can take several cycles to fill your cup and no option to have ice. Plus not very user considerate as nowhere to place down other items purchased while using the soft drink dispenser. Considering the mark ups( and I don't mind when there is quality and service), it would be nice to have fresh, hot popcorn and either served a drink or have a machine and area that is more user friendly.

First time online booking of tickets for this place is a nightmare - you seem to have to give your life history just to buy tickets and it seemed like they were just trying to gather info on you. However seat choice was easy, checking in was quick, the cinema was clean, the sound good, screen good but seats could have more legroom. Probably only half full when we went. Paid Β£28 for 2 adults and a child for top gun.

You know for a modern cinema it’s not so bad. Comfortable seats. Very clean and friendly staff. Only one issue and that was with the service at refreshment’s. Glaciers move quicker. In fact we got sick of being ignored so we walked down stairs to a sweet shop and bought refreshments there. And guess what the couple in front of us were still waiting!!!!! How does that happen? There was no evidence to me else of who needed serving? Unless there was an invisible queueβ€¦β€¦πŸ˜€

Took my younger sibling for their first cinema trip and the staff were amazing. They were patient when talking and even held onto the poster we lost before the movie. Also have a great choice of food for vegetarians though it can be quite pricy.

The best cinema I've been to. OBEON has given me higher cinematic expectations. Seen The Batman and Creed 3 in IMAX, and watched John Wick Chapter 4 in Dolby. Dolby is beyond amazing, but IMAX is impressive as well. OBEON's food/snack and drink options are good. The foldable tables at the seats are practical too. Swedish cinema from what I know is nothing close to this and yet the prices are very much the same if not even higher in Sweden. OBEON is 100% worth it, don't miss out. Wish we had Dolby in Sweden, at the very least IMAX where I live. Waiting to watch Spider-man: Across The Spiderverse when I visit Newcastle soon. Hoping it will still be playing in Dolby, but if not IMAX will still be more worth it than it would be to watch it here in Sweden.

First time at the IMAX to see Avatar 2 in 3D. One of the most uncomfortable experiences I’ve ever had at a cinema. The reclining seats are really poor and sitting in them for 3hrs was like torture. The legs lift up completely before the back reclines ever so slightly. Definitely not for anyone with back problems.

Great place to watch movies. Clean surroundings. Being next to lots of shops and eateries in Metrocentre is a big bonus. Parking is never a problem.

First time visiting here and was very pleased, great comfortable seats and lots of choice for snacks and sweets and a bar. The cinema was also very clean. Cleaner than I expected, since the last cinema I visited was filthy. (Cineworld). The sound in the dolby screen was amazing too, I saw avatar 2 in 3d.

Great film in an almost empty cinema. i can't help but wondering they made the tickets a bit cheaper that they would fill more seats in the current cost of living crisis, nearly Β£40 for two adults and 2 children to see a children's movie is very expensive sorry hut I just have to be honest

Visited a couple of weeks ago. This was our first visit in quite a while. Buying tickets was a pain. It is all touchscreen computers now, half of which didn't work and no staff to help. Almost went home, but we finally found an actual human (hidden behind these screens and various sales stands) on a till to sell us our tickets. Didn't buy food as it was too expensive.

A great cinema , if you like a movie you'll more than likely love it in cinema.

Great cinema and very friendly staff. Reclining seats very comfy. Plenty toilets which were very clean. Only one complaint the volume of the film was ridiculously loud especially during the action scenes. I realise that the volume must be high, however, people were sitting with their hands over their ears at times. My husband has worked in heavy industry and said it was compulsory to wear ear plugs, but the volume in the cinema was much louder than he has experienced in the work place!!! Surely this level of volume in not healthy. Spoilt a good film. Its 3 hours later and ears are still painful. We won't be back

For years I've been visiting the Odeon at Silverlink. I love an ice cream and a coffee; it's part of the experience. Turned up on Thursday; literally no ice cream at all. Costa closed. Told I can't order popcorn at the tills, gotta go to the machines despite 3 staff standing chatting. 1 of 5 machines working, so had to wait in what felt like a pointless queue. The Dolby cinema seats are nice, hence 2 stars, but the volume was way too loud. Talking etc was fine but it got to the point where I was dreading any kind of gunfire or explosion. Just a naff experience all round unfortunately. Only saving grace was that I got to see Big Dan Burn. Starstruck

Decent cinema with some excellent big screens full of modern tech. Food and drinks service is painfully slow and tedious for how you have to order and wait in a cattle-pen. The clientele leave a lot to be desired; always talking, on their phones, etc. and so realistically ruining any film you try and watch. There is clearly no security so that's why I'm reflecting this on the cinema's rating. They also do an ok job at showing older/rarer/international films and I've found these are much less likely to be ruined by the other customers.

Despite still advertising seats as Premier+, they no longer offer the rest of the Premier+ service. The new food ordering system is not particularly user friendly and food took a while to arrive, although we had ordered a few sides as well. Food and overall experience was mediocre/OK at best, hence eating given

Went to see Oppenheimer with the hubby. First time either of us had been to the IMAX. I was impressed with the seats being recliners, being able to put your feet up while you watch and still enough space for people to walk past you. The only downside was having a whole half an hour of adverts and trailers before the film even started. It's a long time to sit through, especially when you're going to watch a nearly 3 hour film.

Very cold, our grandson had to have three layers and was still cold. To get food was horrendous I would suggest you take your own. All in all good film but we will go to different cinema in the future.

Odeon always have a good selection of films when we turn up looking for something. We used to go to the Secret Cinema screenings and got to see some gems on the big screen that we may not have chosen to otherwise. The Imax screen is nice a bonus when available for what you want to watch. Premier seating is worth the extra. Food is as expected for cinemas, best to just embrace it (or use sweets galore downstairs).

Nice cinema experience, the popcorn here is better than Vue in my opinion. We have visited the IMAX a few times and it's great.

We visited the cinema recently and arrived after a hectic journey where we were a bit rushed and hassled and realised we'd left our 3D glasses in the car. We were really perfectly helped by Lauren who was super calm and organised and helped us retrieve our tickets, order food and sorted us with spare 3D glasses. We stopped and thanked her for her kindness in sorting us out and she said we were the only people who'd said thank you that day! I couldn't believe it. She was lovely and totally turned our rushed arrival into a really pleasant start to the film. She was super helpful and responded to our needs perfectly. It's just a little thing, but in tricky times, people being supportive and helpful as well as lovely goes a long way. If you're her boss...tell her we though she's a proper goodun!

Very helpful staff. Really enjoyed the movie and experience. Staff were very helpful of where to go and what to do. Sweet popcorn had no flavour unfortunately so would not recommend that but I've blasts were great.

Bought a Β£9.99 a month pass which lets me watch as many films as I could possibly get through. It's not busy at the moment. Everything is spotless and friendly staff are on hand if you need anything. It's great watching films on the big screen again

It's always great to go watch a movie but I think there should be more deals on tickets and food with kids especially. At the moment, during inflation, cinemas are one of the places where people go to relax and have fun. If more deals, I think more people will enjoy. Just a friendly suggestion.

Brilliant place, on the expensive side of things, but we'll worth the effort if you want comfort and leg-room. Handy for a bite to eat as close to plenty of restaurants to choose from, if you drive here park int he yellow multi-storey car park (level 3) or blue Car park and walk around to the cinema which is a good 10-20 minute walk (depending on your speed or how many times you pop in the shops on the way around), public transport is OK but be warned after 6:30pm there is only 2 stops available at the bus interchange (E & K). K stand for buses towards Gateshead and Newcastle City centre, E stand is for buses towards another town centres so check you are at the right one.

They don't do discounts for the elderly any more, which is a shame. Plus the standard ticket is a pound dearer than my preferred cinema in Silverburn in Glasgow, which also has better seats, and bigger screens than this cinema. So value wise, not so great.

We went to see Avatar 2 in 3D. Felt like we were being ripped off a bit because you could only buy expensive "recliner seats" if you wanted 3D (and for this movie you *do* want 3D) but the luxury of the seats was part of the experience and rather nice once we'd tried it out. Nifty table and drink holder, wide seat and no one's head in your way - combined with great movie visuals and sound made for a great movie-going experience. Definitely not something you could replicate in a living room!

Very modern and clean cinema, recently went to the new IMAX screen and it's great, screen is huge and sound is spot on. Also has new reclining seats in it which was a nice surprise

Excellent cinema, extra-comfortable seats, easy to get too, and the staff are great! Only gripe is the prices for food & drinks. Over Β£10 for 2 beers. Ouch!! Bit highly recommend a visit, non the wise.. πŸ˜‰πŸ‘

we went to see lyle lyle crocodile with our grandaughter, on leaving the cinema a member of staff asked us to do a review which would give us free tickets sent to our email. we did it and got no tickets, when we enquired it was to enter a compitition to win a free ticket!! we would not have wasted our time if we had known. nobody can help when you complain and no one can speak to you at the cinema either. poor customer service. note to self and my friends .... dont do the feedback, you dont get what is promised, just lots of junk emails as a result of letting them know it.....very unhappy

Watched Black Panther on iMax, amazing watch. Great film, great experience. Didn't show the original film I came to watch though, The Chosen, Season 3, Episode 1&2. Supposed to have been showing at 7.30pm from 18th - 22nd Nov. Asked at the till and the lady confirmed it didn't show on any of the days. Shame, because I was really looking forward to watching it on the big screen.

Decent cinema. Few things though, the seats and seating area including floors etc are usually very dirty and can see they are rarely cleaned which is a downside. Looks great from the foyer but when you get inside, all screen rooms need a good clean
