Superb place for a walk and coffee. Plenty of trails here and down the road at the NT woods. Didn't visit the house as we had our dog but plan to return soon. Lovely area, easy to park and staff were lovely.

What lovely grounds around Dudmaston and the wider estate, such a pity dog owners (even on leads) are restricted from enjoying the open grass areas from the house down to the large pool which is idyllic as its classed as part of the ‘gardens’. You also can’t as a result walk all around the big pool as signage directs you to only take the hill up towards the main drive and the outer areas of the estate. I’ve given it 3 stars as this made such a difference to us wanting to enjoy even the lower grassed slopes to take in the views but we couldn’t with the dogs. So much space which isn’t all formally laid out gardens as such in terms of ornate flower beds etc or a walled garden etc which I can understand you wouldn’t want to take your dogs through but this wasn’t the case. Have a re-think NT/Dudmaston instead of discriminating to this degree with responsible dog owners wishing to enjoy more of what Dudmaston had to offer other than the wider estate which not everyone can do ?

It was OK and that's it really just OK. Nice gardens and walks. The house wasn't open to members, well anybody. Cues were really long for the refreshments. I'd like to go again when your able to look around the house though.

Beautiful grounds with lovely walks around the lake. Lovely gardens with variety of trees and shrubs. Plenty of beautiful bulbs in spring. Lots of photo opportunities. As with all National Trust properties a nice cafe but currently limited due to restrictions. Well worth a visit.

Another birthday treat and a place we have wanted to visit for a long time. We parked on the grass and walked, noting there is ample parking. As we began our walk, we noticed a table with a selection of games for visitors to use as well as balance bikes for younger ones. As we were meeting our family here, we had lunch in the orchard, purchasing hot drinks from the cafe, then off to explore. We were not to be disappointed. The house is huge, with amazing views across the valley and lake. We saw many magnificent trees of all shapes and coloured leaves, and a landscape project in progress. We walked around by the boathouse and around a large lake, with plenty of ducks and geese. The far side of the lake has a narrow beach, where we had a go at skimming stones across the water. Walking back towards to exit, two family members took advantage of the badminton rackets and with their son 'acting' as a referee, when he wasn't falling into the flower bed, played for around 30 minutes. We had all enjoyed a great afternoon out and had lost all track of the time. We suddenly realised the staff were packing away everything prior to closing. Dudmaston Hall is a great place to visit, for everyone of all ages and abilities. The Hall will be on our radar for a spring visit next year.

What a beautiful place. Can't wait to return. We did the long walk which was beautiful and we even had a pushchair, dnt get me wrong it wasn't the easiest of routes with a pushchair but we did it and will be doing it again soon.

Part of the National Trust, Dudmaston is one of those go anytime and have a wonderful day places. Beautiful well kept gardens and house. Good facilities for able and less able people. The staff here are so knowledgeable and helpful. But I must doff my cap to the team of gardeners, well done! Magnificent!

Great place to walk, unwind and see some beautiful views. Walks are more open than most places where your walking through forests and being bitten by insects all the time. The view from the lake with the boat house to the left and the hall at top of hill is amazing, I sat for a good hour there taking it in. This is one of the best national trust places iv been to. Get yourselves there, have a picnic, enjoy and take it all in.

What a stunning house and gardens. We visited today everyone was friendly and helpful and the guides in the house were very informative. You can access the bottom of the house due to the family still living there. There's also a nice park by the entrance and loads of picnic tables, the gardens and pond are beautiful

Nice walks around the pool. Footpaths are compacted mud and walking boots advised. The site cafe serves jacket potatoes and sandwiches and there is a small seating area to sit inside and seating in the orchard outside. Great place to see wildlife but the walks have some hills which are not fit for walking impaired. Is a lovely venue for a coffee.

It was a lovely sunny day, large gardens and lake to walk around. Cafe and toilets nice and clean, good food. Very interesting house with lots of history and a modern art exhibition, but sadly you can't take fotos inside the house which is a big disappointment. Other than that a great day.

Another fantastic day out thanks to National Trust. Beautiful walk around the grounds, one long one short. Stopped for a picnic by the lake before heading to the House for a tour around and look at the art galleries. Kids enjoyed the small play area, and the grounds veg garden. There is a cafe in the orchard and second hand book stall as well.

My first visit here mainly due to not normally being open on a Friday/Saturday. I wish I had made time to visit previously as not too far away. I did not go inside the property but spent a good few hours exploring the gardens which are beautiful with various walks. The lakeside walk in particular is nice... not too far and plenty to see... with ample benches to sit and admire the views and listen to nature. I for sure will make sure I visit again.

We are National Trust members and really enjoy exploring all of the NT places we come across. We had been quite looking forward to Dudmaston as, on paper, it sounded like our perfect day out. However, unfortunately we left rather disappointed as it wasn't what we were expecting. It was overall a lot smaller than expected with less to see/do than we would usually expect of a grand NT estate. The house was quite uninteresting with the exception of a modern art display but that is only really interesting to those who appreciate modern art. The grounds were pleasant enough but fairly small compared to our usual choices and the walking trails were very badly sign posted which resulted in us walking off in the wrong direction on more than one occasion. It was extremely busy when we visited, there were people everywhere which probably coloured our opinion a little also as we prefer a less crowded experience (we can't really blame anyone else for that though as we chose to visit on a bank holiday monday so had expected it to be busy, although we were comparing our expectations to other NT estates where there is a lot more space so the crowds are more apread out) This is of course a personal opinion and I'm sure that many people enjoy this place and love it, however it just wasn't for us and it's not one we would return to in the future.

Dudmaston Hall and Gardens were a delight. The Hall is still occupied so not all rooms available to look at. The gardens are very well kept and very pretty overlooking a huge lake. The perfume from the roses was gorgeous and the flower heads of the Hydrangeas were massive. If you walk along the Dingle it takes you through the woodland and right around the lake. Nice exhibition of fans. Again a National Trust venue,

I recently visited with my wife and grandson. The gardens are beautiful. The Cafe was also very good. The people were friendly and helpful.

Interesting house with very helpful & knowledgeable volunteers and staff. Good National Trust teashop and clean toilets. Free parking seems to extend to non-members which is unusual. Impressive grounds. Well worth a visit .... we were there for around five hours.

Beautiful estate and house, the house is only open from 12-4pm. No photos allowed in the house as the family still occupies. Also a section of the property houses a gallery. Some lovely walks around the grounds and lake, with some nice sculptures. Some sections of the walks have cattle grazing. The car park was free, nice coffee shop/restaurant and plenty of seating outside if the weather is fine. Would recommend.

A beautiful place to visit.... both inside and outside. Totally friendly staff, relaxed and informative all in one. Gardens and grounds so child friendly. Bring your picnic make a day of it! Car park so close to picnic area.

Of the many properties I have visited, this ranks among the best in terms of visuals. The gallery's and ceilings and wall coverings are an absolute joy to behold. The long walk is a further treat!

Really nice places beautiful grounds and so quiet. The house itself was interesting and the staff were chatty and dedicated in their knowledge of the history and art. The only thing is I'd have liked more vegan inclusivity in the cafe :) otherwise perfect. The little play area was great for children to run off some energy too

Really enjoyed our visit despite a poorly child. Park area good, lovely pop choir on, gorgeous art, cider pressing (though we missed that) lovely natural scenery, helpful café and would thoroughly recommend.

Arrived and was greeted with an offer to attend the guided tour of the galleries before they and the house opened. I'm so glad that I took this opportunity up because I learned so much from the fabulous guide, the aptly named Jane Artist. Offering her suggestions and involving the group with their views and interpretations of the paintings and maquettes, it was such a wonderful experience. The house, still lived in by the family, has some gems on show and the grounds on a glorious June day were lovely. Great place for a family day out, or for anyone interested in art and sculptures.

Dudmaston National Trust was a delightful experience. The fan collection at Dudmaston is simply marvelous. The variety and intricacy of the fans on display left me in awe. It was fascinating to learn about the history and craftsmanship behind these beautiful artifacts. Moreover, the gardens at Dudmaston are absolutely spectacular. The meticulously manicured lawns, vibrant flower beds, and serene water features create a captivating atmosphere. It was a pleasure to stroll through the gardens, taking in the colors and fragrances that surrounded me. Overall, my visit to Dudmaston National Trust was a treat for the senses. The fan collection and the stunning gardens combined to provide a truly enchanting experience. I highly recommend this place to anyone seeking a blend of art, history, and natural beauty.

Really beautiful gardens and the house was really interesting with a fan museum and art gallery. Nice big orchard to eat, right next to the cafe and the playground was really good, will definitely be returning

One of my favourite places to visit. Ample car parking. Lovely walks around the gardens and grounds with sweeping views down to the lake. The Hall is also well worth a look, especially the Library. There is a tearoom where light bites - jackets etc - are available. A very pleasant way to spend a few hours.

Visited and the garden and house is closed for winter which was a shame but the walk in the woods was lovely in the autumn colours. Some steep muddy bits but worth it for the views. The walk was 1.5 miles but you can go further. There's an art exhibition you can see but we didn't. Cafe was lovely with a range of yummy cakes. Not my favourite NT but will go back in the Spring.

This is a National Trust property and has a huge amount of beautiful grounds to walk around and enjoy. Typical tea rooms offering range if great food, cakes and drinks. On the day we went to house was closed as late in the season so check website for details for any open days. For photography enthusiasts or general snaps loads of opportunities for some stunning shots.

Accidently went to this place today, but quite enjoyed it! Lovely lake with lots of birds to view-who doesn't like baby geese and ducks! Full spring colour out for all to see. Not much of the house available for viewing, if you like modern art (😕), there's a whole gallery of it. Cafe is typical national trust, but people there are very friendly.

Gardens are lovely! Nice cafe, huge slices of cake! Nice little playground. Can't take pics inside the house as the family still live there

Beautiful grounds with lots of paths through woodlands, lake and gardens. House full of family photos and history and is still the owners home.

Beautiful walk round gardens all in bloom ,Lake walk and woods stunning. One of my favourite NT places to visit. Great to take picnics, children can play on park and on the grass areas.

  • 5/5 Jeremy W. 2 years ago on Google
Beautiful grounds in a sloping setting. Orchard grounds perfect for a relaxing drink/cake. Whilst the (public) grounds are not the most elaborate or extensive, this is the kind of place to completely chill out and drink in the wonderfully clever landscaping. If I was local, this would definitely be a regular place of refreshment and relaxation!

  • 4/5 Kim 2 years ago on Google
Lovely grounds and nice estate with timed entry. We missed the guided art tour which was a shame, but there are guides inside the rooms. Not many people wearing masks inside nor social distancing which was disappointing. The grounds were wonderful though and we really enjoyed the ample seating and woodland walks. Even on a busy day it still felt peaceful. There are apparently no dogs allowed in the park areas but we saw a couple of small dogs in (way too small to be guide dogs) with owners, so they may need to enforce that better!
