I had a tour today which upon first impressions was great, the place looks amazing. £101 a month…I guess seems fair for what you get, seems 5 star, but then I was told that the joining fee is £101 too…why so much for a joining fee?….then was told oh and an additional £30 a year is added too…why? “Running costs and maintenance”…shouldn’t this come out of the memberships and joining fee?…then I found out that your membership can increase basically anytime in your contract. No discount for both myself and partner joining, and both of us would have to pay joining fees separate even if joining on the same day together… Lots of fees and instability with prices… Put me off joining if I’m honest and financially not very welcoming. Seems very money focused. Maybe provide some short term memberships for those who would like to trial it and reduce the joining fee?

For the amount you pay towards membership, you’d expect great customer service. It seems like they don’t value their customers with their apathetic response. Already cancelled and won't be recommending to friends and family.

This place is amazing! The thermal spa is incredible and it is easy to spend hours here. Bar area upstairs is lovely and the food and drinks we have had so far have been top class- looking forward to sampling the rest of the menu! Gym equipment is lovely, lots of class options although they do get booked up quickly- reserve list system seems to work well if you can respond quickly. Since we have joined I have noticed how quick the staff respond to any issues and although teething problems are inevitable everything has been sorted quickly. Would recommend the Apex membership.

As soon as you sign up, you're tied in for a full year before you can request to leave (Hand Written letter). Not a problem with the place but just wanted to alert those interested 👍

My friend is a member of the gym and has been for almost 1 year. We enquired about a day pass and the cost is £50! Yet the membership for a whole month is £90!? So where is the logic in the cost being £50 for me to simply use the gym. It’s absolutely ridiculous.

I have been a member since two months after it opened. It was fantastic at first. Then it got too crowded so they upped the prices suddenly. Fair enough, I stayed and it got less crowded. It was nice. Now the jacuzzi is barely warm. They must switch the heater on for an hour per day honestly. It’s really frustrating because it’s completely hit and miss. You never know what you’re going to get! When it’s on, it’s fabulous. But unfortunately I’m paying £140 per month for myself and babies, only to leave disappointed half of the time. I have recommended this place to family and had 22+ family members sign up because of my recommendation. I feel bad now because we are getting very frustrated. It’s not just us either, everybody talks about it in the changing rooms and in the pool. It’s a shame as this is a great place when everything is working/ heated as it should be.

Love my Athelis membership, but attended the gym for my first Saturday at 7:30 to see it doesn’t open until 8am… I think this is super late for a gym where you pay good money for it as people start work at 9am? How are you supposed to do a 45-60 minute workout and get ready for work to be on time. Really disheartened by this and would of re-considered signing up to a 12 month contract.

Just love Athelis! I've been a member since March 2022 and have loved every minute. From the incredibly varied timetable, to the top class facilities and instructors, outstanding food and high standard of customer service! It really ticks all boxes. Such amazing value for money!

Absolutely fantastic gym and spa facilities. Unrivalled in the local area. Excellent customer service, and the food is fantastic. The best place to relax.

Cancelled membership due to expensive personal item “going missing” whilst in the staffs possession. Dealt with terribly by management and approached with a “what’s up” attitude when questioned on how this had now gone missing. I had arranged to collect the item which I left, they confirmed was in their possession and I would collect that week, when arriving to collect they don’t have it and story changed several times. They had record, then they didn’t have record, all very strange. Management need training on how to deal with complaints and dealing public. Myself and partner cancelled our memberships after this. Shameful service 👎🏽 Obtained a crime ref no. After looking at the reviews from staff on indeed, it appears they’re not very happy working there themselves.

I got to visit Athelis as a guest recently and I had to write this review. From start to finish it was exceptional. My immediate feeling upon walking through the doors was just “wow”. I could sense the touch of class and elite attention to detail that Athelis have aimed for. The staff on the main reception desk were very friendly and helpful, making me feel welcome right from the outset. Everywhere was thoroughly clean and clearly well maintained. The facilities and amenities weren’t missing anything and everything I needed within my visit was supplied, plus more. Even though the club screams supreme with its facilities, overall customer feel and first class aesthetic detailing I did not feel like I was “out of place” or would not feel welcome should I become a member myself, both with staff and any of the club members that were there. In fact, with all the staff I encountered they were very friendly and like nothing was too much trouble. I came away feeling incredibly relaxed from my experience of the facilities and I’ve yet to try Aria Spa! One thing I really picked up on was that it really didn’t feel over crowded. It was certainly busy enough (and I’m really not surprised why) with a lot of happy club members enjoying themselves but there is an abundance of space and things to do whilst there. I have been a member of various gyms / clubs previously but Athelis really does have a superior edge without the pretence and I thoroughly enjoyed my visit, so much so I jumped on the website on the car ride home to look at my membership options and cannot wait to be back there again, including enjoying some quality time with my young family.

Love this place. Have been a member since September 2022. Everyone is really friendly, the spa and pool is brilliant, the restaurant has great quality food, there are lots of different classes that seem popular, the gym is clean and well equipped.

Been a member of the gym for over 1 year and left due to the facilities massively lacking in hygiene and quality. Pools are constantly freezing in this weather and there is always a problem. I understand relevant maintenance needs to happen but at least factor into an email to notify people that this is going to be the case. I traveled to get to the gym just like I know a lot of other members also do so to arrive and have to find out things like the steam are out of service it’s just not good enough. Pool is constantly cold now and it’s just not good enough.

Becky's aqua classes are just superb - great fun, superb music in a really supportive environment (no pun intended - the instructor is supportive and the water too!). I've never known an instructor explain and demonstrate so clearly. Becky gets into and out of the water to show exactly what to do, offering options to suit varying fitness levels, experience and preferences. Really creative classes, using yoga moves, ballet, even the hokey cokey. No two classes are the same yet seem a perfect blend of something familiar and something new. I cannot recommend Becky's classes highly enough. I was in another (yoga) class, where Becky was a participant, rather than the instructor. She gently guided a new member, supported others, including me, passing blocks etc which would be useful, without interfering with the operation of another instructor's class. Becky is a real asset to Athelis. I look forward to my next class.

Fabulous! From the moment we stepped into the spa we were made to feel so welcome. The spa itself was beautifully clean and the staff were professional and friendly. Lunch was delicious and my treatment was one of the best I have received. A big thank you to Mollie and all the other spa staff - you have all created a very special experience in Aria. I can’t wait to return.

Lovely facilities, very clean and staff were all very friendly. My treatment from Destiny was amazing! The best massage I think I’ve ever had. The only small negative is where the spa is situated and when in the infinity pool you are overlooking a main road/warehouse. Other than that everything else was perfect

Lovely spa day with massage. Nice pool. Staff, food, drinks, all very nice, nothing to complain of there. Just one small niggle, we ordered sushi and it was freezing!! Obviously pre-made and just taken out the fridge.

From start to finish the whole day was amazing. We were made to feel so special by all members of staff and the facilities, service and food were all excellent. I had a massage treatment with Melinda who is so lovely and fab at her job! I will definitely be coming back soon and recommending Aria to friends and family.

By far the best gym in the north-west this is an exclusive gym with state-of-the-art equipment over 150 classes per week swimming pools inside and out with all spa facilities absolutely amazing

Mollie was fantastic today. I thoroughly enjoyed my pure indulgence treatments. Exceptional customer service and on a practical side had amazing techniques and extra touches that made the treatment flow lovely. A great touch and the treatments were lovely including the products and oils that were used. Friendly and made me feel very comfortable and relaxed. Infact I fell asleep! Very highly skilled and can tell trained to a high standard. I would request mollie again for future treatments. Millie is an asset to the Aria Spa. The lovely lady on the spa reception was also super helpful, friendly, attentive and very professional. Very smiley and great customer service.

Everything is very clean and beautiful! I enjoy both the gym and the spa!

Fabulous Spa morning! the service, the facilities are incredible. I've been to many spas and this one is up there with the best. The infinity pool, outdoor jacuzzi, steam room, sauna all amazing, in great condition and not busy [weds morning]. The sushi included in the spa package was incredible! My partner lived in Asia and said it is hands down the best sushi. They made GF veggie ones especially for me. Coffee was amazing and the massage and facial was blissful. Thank you so much to all the staff for making our treat day amazing! We will be back. x

Had the most relaxing day to celebrate turning 40 on Tuesday 🥳 it was just what I needed (I have 2 kids 🤯😂). The staff were perfect 🤗 the massage was incredible 😍 think I might have fallen asleep it was so relaxing. The only 1 negative was the view wasn't nice from the infinity pool and swinging chairs, but that could easily be fixed with trees, flowers, mirrors and fairy lights. It was a beautiful, relaxing day, with lovely staff, great food, amazing rooms and 3 pools! ☺ Would definitely recommend. Oh and use of the gym. You can probably guess I didn't go there though.

Such a lovely gym!! Having the hangout for the kids has allowed me to have 2 hours per day 3 times a week to myself! Now I can train and use the pool facilities to relax and unwind. Not only that my son has the best time for them 2 hours the staff are incredible ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Not only were the facilities top notch, the spa was extremely clean. Katy on reception was amazing! So welcoming, friendly and professional. I would highly recommend.

Had the most amazing day at the spa, everything was beautiful from the changing rooms to the spa and facilities itself. Can’t thank the staff enough. From the moment we arrived they made us feel extremely welcome especially Phillipa. Nothing was too much trouble from showing us round to getting us our lunch orders. Thank you to Charlotte ( especially for looking after me when I wasn’t feeling to well) and both her and Charlotte for my treatments. Would highly recommend to all. You have exceptional staff working for you which made the visit even more memorable.

My therapist was amazing (I'm gutted I don't remember her name by leaving it too long to review). She left me feeling so relaxed and on cloud 9! The treatment was just what I needed. The spa and thermal area is spread out with a chilled vibe, not overly busy but nice and clean. The only thing I would say is that it would be nice to have more vegetarian options for the lunch.

Love this place. They listen when you ask for something. I mentioned that the showers were too short when you pressed the push button. They changed it! Winning!

They increase membership prices mid month that are effective the following month, meaning you are forced to pay the increase since you need to give 30 days notice to cancel.

Lovely layout of the gym, unfortunately there was a manager there who was very unpleasant towards my husband. He was rude, and very unwelcoming. My husband noticed he always circling the outside of the gym smoking his vape. I thought there was a no smoking policy at Athelis!

Melinda!! You are an amazing therapist who listens to your clients needs and makes them feel super relaxed and comfortable. My facial and a back massage was probably one of the best iv had in a long time - I just can’t wait to rebook again to extend the treatment time as 25 minute was just not long enough! Great club, for couples or families, good sushi and terrible service. Such a refined place with upscale members and such a poor food service, it needs a independent consultant / auditor. It's the only and big flaw!

Mel was incredible from start to finish. The treatment was the best I have ever had and I have had a lot of spa experiences over the years. Every move she made was considered and communicated just how much care she took in giving the best relaxation experience possible. I will be recommending Mel and the whole spa to all my friends and family. It was a wonderful day!!

My treatment was amazing! Elena was very friendly but also professional and knowledgeable and I was very impressed with my massage and the spa as a whole. All the staff are very friendly and make your experience very relaxing. I am a member of the club but until today hadn’t had the opportunity to use the spa, I will definitely be rebooking more treatments for the future x

Huge thanks and praise - treatment was of a high standard, delivered in an exceptionally clean and calm/tasteful setting. I was greeted and helped enormously by Rionna (sp?) in the morning prior to my appointment which meant I arrived feeling very relaxed. Such amazing attention to detail - smoothie and flannel, sorbet and products, hibernation room. Don’t change a thing Aria. Highly recommended and I left feeling fabulous. Thank you ladies, very much indeed.

My friends and I had a wonderful experience at Aria Spa. The treatments were incredible with the therapists really listening and giving outstanding treatments even as the last appointment of the day. The hostess who took care of us was extremely accommodating and made sure our needs were catered to. The food was excellent, even though we had to wait for a while (we were kept in the loop and offered a complementary drink) it was well worth the wait. The spa itself was fantastic, it may be helpful to be informed of a time table of the pool though, just to plan when the best time for a swim would be as there were a couple of classes on when we arrived. I would highly recommend this spa and will absolutely be visiting again :). Thank you all.

Hot Yoga is falsely advertised. There is not the temperature or humidity required and never has been. Emails have now come out to inform of a significant % increase mid contract with less than a month's notice. Cleaning of showers in changing rooms is below standard, as is the glass in the thermal suite and stairs up to them. Guest passes suddenly increased to £50 with no communication. The management refuse to provide a copy of a complaints procedure when requested and ignore any negative feedback from members. Fees from opening a few years ago to now have risen so sharpely. I would not recommend, and regret joining this gym. I'd give 0 stars if Google let me.
