The closure of the fun pool at youth's expense is a disgrace. I'm not from the Wirral, but travelled 14 miles across the Mersey to bring the kids here every week before the pandemic, and sometimes during the week for Aqua Tots if we were off work. The kids are devastated they can't go, and there's nowhere else like it. They loved the "bubbly pool" as they described it, and the wave pool, plus the fact they could walk in at their own pace to a comfortable depth. Blatant bias and ignorant decision made by the council to close it, opting for financial benefit in the short term rather than health and welfare in the long. There was no requirement for another gym on the Wirral, or even the whole North West. It's just been done for quick financial return. Any paper work issued is clear narrow-minded statements with the only intent of keeping the pool closed. It is a little run-down, but with the right management, advertising, and minor makeover the fun pool alone would've been an attraction many families will have travelled for. Nobody I speak to even knew it existed. Safe to say, there's nothing there that's worth visiting now!

This is just an abomination absolute awful now. No cafe , no kids pool. Lane swim time table is just a joke aswel. No acces for disabled people for pool & when I asked it was "too much of an effort opening & closing the gate to get in" so I had to climb in and out after recovering from a spine operation. There is absolutely no safe place to go now for disabled people to exercise. I have to tavel to the Oval to do my physio in the pool. Such a massive let down this place now.

Nice family swim no more lanes as the relaxing of covid so plenty of room just as a precaution for parents with children that are weak or none swimmers after the lifegaurd chairs it is 2meter deep so courtion nice friendly staff who are on the ball . Plus they have just moved the gym to the lesiure pool as the pool wasent getting used by the public but what a transformation it's so quirky relaxing if this is what its took to save europa pools then good on them 22.50 a month gym and swim plus classes it's a steal .thumbs up from me

Absolutely gutted the wave pool has gone. Broken both of my children's hearts, ridiculous. Absolutely no reason to empty the pool.

Great if you can get a booking. I have a pay monthly membership and struggle to get times to suit me. I am also trying to do the SWIM22 Challenge for Diabetes UK. I have to do 119 lengths per week just to stay on target. Europa is the best out of all the pools because you are still able to use the showers. I can't book a family swim for my Son and I because there is no option for just two of us unless I am prepared to pay over £15 so my Son hasn't been able to go swimming at all. My complaint is about the booking system not the venue.

Absolute disgrace they closed the fun pool to make way for yet another gym. Europa Pools used to be one of the best swimming pools around and now it’s just reduced to a lane pool that ain’t good for families

Only reason we ever went here was for the Family pool with the waves etc. Kids loved it. Now panelled over to make space for yet another Gym. Wirral has hundreds of Gyms, why sacrifice the best family pool in the area for yet another gym? Good old council. Won't be going again.

Whilst appreciating that the loss of the fun pool has made a difference to many, my gym membership is much improved by the new gym. Lots of new faces and new equipment. I was going to join the new gym opening in Birkenhead but I am more than happy to stick with Europa now. Staff look pleased to see everyone after what was a tough time in the last two years.

Used to be 5 stars but not any more! I am not from the wirral but have been coming over from Liverpool for over 20 years to use this pool. My son also loved ìt but was devastated when we came last week and the fun pool had gone to make way for yet ANOTHER gym which is just not needed. There are gyms everywhere! Why take things away from children to replace them with something that isn't needed? I don't believe that the pool was not being used as stated in other reviews. Everytime I came it was always busy!

Took my grandson, good facilities, nice reception staff, free parking, however-wasn't allowed to use the deep end, due to an overzealous lifeguard saying my grandson couldn't swim and would drag me under! (We cold-water swim spring summer and autumn!) we were stuck in the 0.9m shallow area, which felt punitive, (I'm 182cm ) a guy was called a liar by another guard, when he protested that he had not long got in, in front of his young daughters when told to get out. The Manager was reasonable, sadly it was far from a fun experience, we have no plans to return.

We didn't go to swim, we went to renew my husbands parking pass ! He is 82 years old and has had COPD for the last 10 years !! It was like being interviewed by the SS !! It took nearly an hour of non stop questions. Normally it takes 10-15 mins.

Haven't been here for many years took my daughter swimming a couple of times over the school holidays and was pleasantly surprised. My local leisure center was closed down because our amazing council decided they needed to make financial cuts. Well run, clean and friendly staff at a good price. The pool is a good size and it wasn't busy. Only negatives I have are there aren't many public/family swim sessions and now the new term has started there are even less. 3:45 - 4:45 three days a week and three hours on a saturday isn't great when most kids don't finish school until 3:20 and I'm sure I'm not the only parent that works saturdays. Also why did they need to close the other pool and make another gym? There are plenty of options when it comes to a gym on the wirral. I can recommend a great one in Upton called Gravity. On the whole though very happy with my experience, would definately recommend this leisure center.

I used to attend the disability swim many years ago at this leisure centre. It was perfect for somebody with severe visual impairment and I used to have my niece and nephew with me. The session was between 12 pm and one. Alas now it’s at about 3:45 pm. The staff were absolutely lovely. I recently trained with my new Guide DogMason and the staff looked after him wonderfully while I was in the pool. The staff are so lovely and respectful and very helpful.. I travel from Sefton Merseyside because alas, they’re not as progressive as the wirrel, they don’t have separate disability swimming sessions.

Booked online and the actual pool suitable for kids with the waves etc was shut for refurbishment until next summer. Instead we had a lane swim which wasn't ideal as I had a baby and would have liked to be able to sit down in the water with him.

Came here using the free 3 day pass. Thought I would give it a go being 8 months pregnant and always in pain I think being in water helps and it definitely does. The pool is okay a little bit worn down now but I liked that there was disability steps to get in which made it alot easier for me. Got talking to a few people there who were friendly. Changing facilities showers and lockers are not great and really dirty. I wouldn't come back for this reason, glad I got the free pass before I bought a membership. Also its such a shame because the fun pool I used to love when I was a kid, would love to take my kids now but it's now another gym! This place could be top tier with a refurb and the come back of the fun pool.

Absolutely amazing workers and facilities. Someone of the staff, I have known since I was a baby, some of them are only new but the thing that ties them together, is their warmth and compassion. I’m disabled and weary about going places, sometimes people stare and judge me but I know, whenever I’m at Europa, I’m safe, I’m sound, I’m looked after and encouraged to come back and work on my health. Some of the kindest people I’ve ever met! A big thank you to the staff for making fitness and kindness so readily available ❤️

My go to gym, normally plenty of room but can get busy early tea time. Never any attitudes in there or insta wannabees. Affordable membership and plenty of classes to choose from. Worth a go....

Expensive for just 1 hour. Safety is a bit too tight - can't practise with kids in deep end.

the service leaves a lot to be desired. I had a very bad experience buying an Americano coffee. The coffee was not hot and was served like clear water. I showed this to the person who served me and I was told that the problem was with the machine. No other solution was offered.
