Today I went to the ark health spa at the radison blu hotel with my sister as we had been referred by a friend. When we pitched up we asked could we please have access to the spa for the day the lady replied with - we needed to be a member and no longer take customers who walk in. So we went outside in the awful rain and thought we will go online and see if we can become a member which we found out we could for £18 so that’s what we did. The lady on the desk clearly was not helpful enough to just tell us from the start that we could become a member online and pay £18 to access the spa, that information would of been more helpful for us! But when we did become a member online and get our code the young guy on the desk was really nice, polite and helpful. When finally accessing the spa there was no changing rooms for privacy of woman or no locks for the lockers to keep your belongings safe which I thought wow I have just paid £18 in here to not have my belongings secured or have some privacy when getting changed which I think is not acceptable! The spa itself was basic but nice although the winding stairs to go down to the pool were super old it felt like walking on stones on your feet and the jacuzzi and the pool was barely luke warm.

This place 5 years ago was hands down the best spa in Liverpool. But lately it turned into a sad joke. Peeling off paint on almost every wall, not working steam room one month, not working sauna next, cold swimming pool one week, no hot water next week. Most of good size lockers have padlocks locked over night, smells coming from them lockers staff not doing anything about it. Equipment falling apart, piss on a floors, urinals leaking. I mean its actually sad how neglected this place become and what this place turned into. In terms of staff - there's very good old school people in there who have been there for ages and there's people with very poor to non professionalism who treat members like prison inmates. I would not recommend at this point there's better alternatives in Liverpool.

They've raised (already expensive) membership prices by 20% because of (no joke) "new equipment & rise of national wage". First of all, when I asked of the new equipment prior to the price change, the answer was that "the cost of fixing the broken equipment was so high, it was cheaper to replace them". So not only are they charging their members MORE for something that's actually SAVING them money, but they expect us to pay extra for WORKING EQUIPMENT when in reality they were breaking basic gym and contract obligations by having so much non-working equipment. An absolute pathetic attempt of ripping off loyal members, insinuating that working equipment is some sort of bonus or add-on we have to pay extra for, as though working equipment is not included in a gym membership. On top of that joke, they've removed plastic cups and replaced them with paper cone cups. At first I thought "no way can they be trying to make petty cut backs whilst charging us more money??". However, it's not only for that poor excuse, apparently, it's also because "too many people left plastic cups around". Aka they're too lazy to pick them up, every time I'm in there at least 3 of them are just sitting there on reception gabbing away sometimes up to 5, it's only Ian who gets off his backside. NO JOKE 9/10 there is more people on reception than members in the gym, so there's more people who are paid to maintain the gym on shift than members "leaving the cups around". "It's okay though guys because national wage has gone up and only you have to work harder for it whilst we at Ark & Raddison aim to work less".

A great disappointment for a new mummy with her 20 months old son as we were not allowed to enter the gym. Staff did not show any intention or good will to help. Thankfully there are plenty of other gyms around.

Attended a spa day for Valentine’s Day. Was really disappointed. No spin dryer in changing rooms or plastic bags, was told if I asked downstairs at reception they would give me one, which they did after dripping water all down the stairs which created a slipping hazard.was told they don’t put them in because people steal them? Pool very dated and dark, pool water was cloudy and cold, jacuzzi water temp was same as pool cold. Sauna was fine. Steam room again cold with no steam, slippers provided not safe on pool area. Not very clean overall and wouldn’t go again. Treatment was ok ? Although you can use the facilities all day, as we had to arrive for 9.45 and our treatment was for ten it was all rushed. Staff not very friendly and a little like in out next please. We then had to get dressed and go next door for the afternoon tea, staff again asked for our proof of purchase, no communication with spa? The sandwiches were dry and filling not worth talking about. Overall experience poor and expensive as cost to park was £18 not worth the money and wouldn’t go again. Needs a total revamp oh I forgot no shower gel or soaps in changing room. The 1 star is for the cake otherwise would rate at all.

Spa and pool, something is always broken! Shower room is full of mold. Air conditioning in the gym and the charging rooms hasn't worked in years.

I joined when I moved to Liverpool, I started getting my beauty treatments done with Jen. She does my eyebrows perfectly , communicates well and is extremely clean and professional. She is a eyebrow queen

Decent gym, could use a hotter tub and none of the extras such as hydro pool sauna/steam. But it’s a nice club and the staff have been really friendly

Pool small but still OK for swim. Sauna small bit can lie down. Steam v good. Not tried gym. Improve by insisting use of towels in sauna - unpleasant to sit in other people's sweat. Got worse since towel charge started. Overall much MUCH better than Crowne Plaza.

I had an appointment for a manicure on Saturday, 09/12/2017. When I came to the Spa that day, I was told that there had been a booking mistake and no therapist was available for my manicure. I can understand that things like this happen. What I did not understand was how this mistake was handled. I got no explanation for why there was no therapist available/ why the booking was not in the calender. Furthermore, I was neither offered any form of compensation, nor an apology. Regarding the latter I was actually quite shocked. I work in customer service too and would never send a customer away without an apology when the mistake made was obviously not the customers fault. I received an answer after eight days.

Good gym facilities, only fault is the lack of ventilation in the men's changing room. Gets very hot during summer
