This gym has gone right down the pan from previous years, doubled members since lockdown, your lucky to get a parking space and get on a machine due to it being very overcrowded, parking spills onto the main road at front in peak hours, you no longer get regular guest passes with your membership I think I've had 4 in the last 12 months, 14 day memberships are no longer allowed for under 18s due to them not being able to get a sale from it ( since I can remember its been available to everyone ) The gym doesn't care in the slightest about members, it's simply about how many new members they can squeeze in Furthermore, they've also decided to put a child's 3 month membership up by 80% from £25 to £45 a month, so while already paying for 3 memberships, the only way I can take my daughter swimming at David Lloyd when she's home for a week at easter is either by paying £20 a day or £135 for 3 months plus £20 admin fee !! I can't wait to leave and find a more member friendly gym !

Went today and had forgotten my towel and sign in card. Never done this before. Signed in by reception fine. But then they wouldn’t lend me a towel as I didn’t have £2 to pay with no cards. Pay them over £70 a month and they want £2 for a towel!! Was turned away. Poor service. I’ll be looking elsewhere from now on. Gym is looking old and tired too.

Brilliant gym. Indoor and outdoor Pools are fantastic. lovely atmosphere.. Small soft play for kids is brilliant when waiting for food to come.. Changing rooms are fabulous. Need to bring back the wet costume bags. Prefer Knowsley David Lloyd to speke.

People not cleaning machines after use, no staff checking or commenting when seeing showers cubicle walls in ladies changing rooms dirty, need good clean. Overall did not feel comfortable being in there

Used to be the best about but has sadly gone downhill over the past few years. Pretty much all the PTs have gone so there’s nobody about to help members and tidy up. The gym floor is like an obstacle course and dangerous. Not the fault of the gym if members are too lazy and ignorant to re-rack weights but staff should still be tidying them away. Worst of all is the lack of air-conditioning. This gym has been open for over 20 years now, takes in hundreds of thousands per year in membership fees and amazingly has no system in place to keep the gym cool (not even possible to open a window in the main gym area). Still must be 30+ degrees in October and the place is unbearable in summer. Edit - apologies if the gym does have air-conditioning but the fact I’ve been a member for nearly 10 years and never noticed it could mean it doesn’t work as well as it should. The gym is unbearably hot for about 4-5 months of the year.

been a member for 18 years plus...its got everything need and can easily spend a whole day there between training, relaxing and socialising.

Joined this gym 2 months post partum. Since, i have gained so much confidence in the gym and found a new fondness of swimming. Such a relaxing environment and great for the kids

Great place, friendly members, excellent staff...but Lloyd's area management need to spruce the place up and improve the time it takes for repairs. Swimming pool men's toilet was out of order for maybe 1 month and the only other poolside toilet was for disabled and remained locked with a code. This meant having to go back to the main toilets at the entrance in swim gear. Not very well thought through! Also ceiling in shower area has clearly seen better days and should have been replaced when the changing rooms were done and the new Blaze area built.

Worst gym about. 1 curl bar for the whole gym? Training any time 2-8 o'clock and you'll spend majority of the time walking round. Cables don't work without snagging and nearly pulling your shoulder out of place. Join if you want to use treadmills or get bevied at the bar.

Terrible value for money and poor quality customer service. On arrival for my 'induction' I was told there wasn't anyone available to do an induction and instead a member of staff simply pointed out where the pool, gym and changing rooms were and left me to it. No background into previous activity levels or proper induction on how to use gym equipment properly. On entering the gym I was met with what I can only describe as mayhem, free weights, mats, varying barbells all left around on the floor for others to either pick up or trip over. This can only be down to improper management and education of gym goers and if this happened in any normal gym you'd expect those responsible to be kicked out. The swimming facilities are fair at best with an outdated and most of the time dirty swimming pool only saved by the novelty of the outdoor pool. The sauna and steam rooms are of a small size and again aren't kept to a high hygiene level. Not what you'd expect when paying £70+ a month membership

I have attended this gym frequently and each time I find it has more problems. The hygiene levels are poor, on two separate visits now I have had the privilege of seeing one domestic staff and one children's activity staff use the restrooms and not wash their hands. I have been in the gym when not once but twice there have been no blue roll or disinfectant to wipe down equipment. Shower heads are faulty. There are holes in the sealing were water has leaked through. Seals around windows are mouldy, equipment has build up of dirt to the point you can scrap it off. Fabric on some equipment has peaked off. I have witnessed staff cleaning the pool area floor, pushing the dirty water into the swimming pool. Surely this is not sanitary. On a lighter note the staff are always pleasant, happy to help and the food service staff especially even when they are run of their feet have a pleasant can do attitude. Overall just needs a little TLC

I'm a member of David Lloyd Belfast (in Liverpool for work) and this place is awful compared to Belfast, no where near as clean, the gym equipment is falling to bits (leather from seats is coming apart, no pins to hold the weight in for machines??) Where did they go and why did someone take them in the first place lol?? What. Front desk staff are friendly though but gym could be a lot better. PT staff don't even bother cleaning up when they have nothing else to do... just wandering about the gym looking at all the weights that people have left behind them. Disappointed. Will be canceling my membership. Shame because DL Belfast is a real nice gym

Work needs to be done within the overall building to warrant the price. Also, more staff are required in and around different sections of the building. More facilities that are paid for in the cost should also be provided to prevent people either waiting to use a hairdryer, finishing earlier to prevent waiting and also ensure long queues do not build within the dining area.

Even when it's adult swim and you've finished work and arrive around 6pm. Why do they have the kids in the swim lanes and goes on until 7ish. Especially when the rest of the pool is full of kids. Also for the size of the place the gym is tiny🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔. And nearly 60 a month for getting the basics wrong.

I've been a member for many years and my membership is worth every penny. I participate in water aerobics 4times a wk and the aerobics staff are amazing .

Worst David Lloyd gym ive been to. Dirty pool and changing rooms. Small sauna and steam room, outdated. Always full of kids, more like a crèche than a gym, even when its adult only swim time. Cannot wait for membership to end and transfer to Speke or Warrington.

Always a pleasure to go to David Lloyd knowsley, they always give a friendly welcome, the classes are good fun and the member's lounge is a great place to relax with a coffee and chat to friends.

This is a well laid out gym with many choices of exercise. Restaurant with indoor or outdoor eating. There are plenty of things to keep you occupied. Large parking facilities. This is one of the best laid out facilities that I have visited the only criticism is the indoor jacuzzi is on the small size. It is a wonderful experience and the children love it, there are many activities that cater to them, its all about fun and all ages enjoy the visit.

Plenty of loose and broken paving flags around the outdoor pool which really is dangerous , also both pools are just not up to a high standard with maintenance in general, definitely not acceptable for the money we have to pay, will not be renewing my membership after the year is up ( I actually thought I was signing up for three months, as this was the advertisement) so double check before you do !!!! Changing rooms and showers are spotless clean and the other members are lovely and friendly , some really nice staff too

I've been a member for over 3yrs , the health club use to be top class and spotless, the standards have really dropped and its now over subscribed with member.

Gym very good with good equipment. Pool clean and not yoo crowded . Big, clean changing rooms aswell , nice staff . Just a lot of chlorine in the jacuzzi makes your eyes burn and you cant really breathe 🙂❗

No gym etiquette at all in this place. A lot of near missing due to how messy the gym is. I’ve never been to the restaurant and not had to ask for a cloth to wipe down the table before I sat down plus the food is hit and miss.

I give 3* purely for the fact that it is a lovely clean gym! And Gavins battlebox classes are fantastic! And Dave front of house is always so nice and friendly! Unfortunately the following really lets the gym down. However we joined this gym as a family of two adults and a child paying £200 a month for the convenience to be able to go the gym as a family and my son to use the classes. Without any warning the age ranges for the children's classes changed meaning my son was not able to access the classes he liked and even the ones he is not keen on are only set to a time we are unable to use due to not being able to get there early enough from work! Despite the changes made rendering the gym useless to us we are unable to come out of our contracts! (Surly the service we signed up for is now longer valid we should be able to leave/freeze our membership until we are able to use) I have called several times to speak to somebody about this issue and have tried to speak to somebody once in the gym about this issue for the last month and nobody gets back to you! Some staff are very rude when you complain about the situation! Our son is almost 6 and will be able to access the gym fully again and hopefully enjoy it again! But once our 12 months is up we most certainly will not be staying purely down to the poor customer service and the fact that the club do not listen to its members!! These changes have impacted so many families at the gym who like us are throwing money down the drain for a service that cannot be used!! SORT IT OUT DL YOU WOULD BE NOWHERE WITHOUT YOUR CUSTOMERS!!

great facilities However, 1/5 stars. Because in the gym there needs to be more moderation in the free weights area. every time I go, there are dumbbells scattered all over the floor and not organised in the holder And there aren't enough - they need another rack of dumbbells. I'm always stood around waiting. Please put some signs up asking people to put their dumbbells back after use, and please have someone checking this - it's really frustrating, not to mention a trip hazard. And order more dumbbells pls, then I'd happily rate this place 5 stars..1!

Terrible service. Trouble with being cut off mid phone conversation speakingto jasmine,seemingly on purpose, four attempts calling to amend my new membership start date. I had to attend in person, never got apology from anyone. Very poor customer service. Needs a shake up in how to communicate with customers and resolve issues rather than cut them off and block them.

AVOID THIS GYM! I joined David Lloyds Knowsley on 28th February with a friend. I went to the gym twice and on both occasions the gym was in a state. The equipment is old and weights where all over the floor, there also isn’t enough dumbbells to go around and equipment was just scattered everywhere. There was no member of staff seen to be taking care of the equipment/ re racking and gym itself is dated and old. For a gym that I am paying triple a month for compared to other local gyms I expected much more than a messy gym with dated and damaged equipment which needs updating. After the two occasions we went the gym it was more than enough for us to both cancel on the 2nd March which is within our 14 day cancellation period stated in their policy therefore I contacted David Lloyd to cancel and get our £50 joining fee back each which we still both haven’t received even though it states in there policy that it will be repaid within 14 days. It’s now 20 days and still waiting. Absolutely shocking. Don’t waste money on joining. I don’t normally leave bad reviews but since we still haven’t received a refund then I feel I have no option to.

Last Friday (7th April) they had 4 rowing machines, 3 of which were out of order. There were no staff on the floor to speak with, so I told the sole guy on reception who assured me they just need batteries changing. Today (one week later) they now have only 3 rowers, all of which are out of order.

I am newly joined here. the facility is state of the art, I need to get myself back into the rythem of training again as it's been over 3 years since before the lockdown not really worked out. I have only done one session here so far. The locker rooms are very clean with clean showers that are all separate cubicals. The hygiene is on point, and I never smelt any bad smells or body odder, which is also a plus factor. The gym facility they have all the equipment for heavy weight training to cardio machines to many open sports halls for many various classes you could enrol on to. MMA classes to Tai-Chi and all sorts. Amazing indoor and outdoor swimming pool, sauna, and jacuzzi. Indoor and outdoor tennis courts with badminton courts. The staff are also very pleasant and helpful should you need them for anything.

Cannot recommend this place enough. Everything is top notch. Everyone who works there is super helpful and friendly. My PT Geoff has been utterly brilliant. Food is great, coffee selection is diverse and interesting (which is really important to us!). And it's really not that expensive when you consider what you're getting. In fact, now I have everything that the kids and I like to do under one roof, I'm actually saving money from when we were using a bunch of different places. 5 star and 10 on 10.

Been there more than once. It’s a great place for work out, great atmosphere, excellent up to date machines lovely vibe. The changing room and the showers are very run down. But, we had a great time as usual.

I'm a member at another DL so came here whilst on my travels. Very warm welcome from the lovely lady at reception with curly, blonde hair - thank you! Nice facilities, plenty parking. Lockers could do with being cleaned out a little.

Pool was good for swimming, although a slow swimmer doing breath stroke in the fast lane should have been be asked to move to the other lanes. Outside pool nice & warm. Showers & changing rooms spotless. Cafe looked nice & had a good choice of food at a reasonable price, but machine coffee is a definate no no for me. 1st impression really good.

Booked a trial to start Monday. Online app has been trouble from the start to get logged in. Went to reception to sign in gave my surname in 5 times spelling it out and was told ‘I didn’t understand you.’ Maybe if staff members were concentrating and not talking they would have understood me. Receptionist was rude. Didn’t have a passport or driving licence but could show them a different photo ID I had saved to my phone and was refused. Utter waste of time for something I thought would be good for my well-being ended up being a wasted journey.

Very organised, as safe as it possibly can be, most people clean down the machines after they use them. There is plenty of spray and paper towels to clean prior to use and after use. Staff are competent and friendly.

Great place !! Went to an appointment with The Physio Lounge and I cant speak highly enough of the level of service I received. Very good all round from start to finish. Highly reccommend this company.

Well we have kicked off to a great start at David Lloyds Knowsley, Staff are super friendly and the place is immaculate and all the systems in place to ensure covid secure I would like to make two special shouts to Jasmine the sales manager for been so professional no pushy sales very relaxed and professional and went above and beyond to ensure are needs where met. I would like to praise the shining light of the centre beaming smile from the moment we met him, Danny who literally did everything he could to get us started and welcomed us into the David Lyoyd family, well that is exactly the way he made us all feel as a family anyway keep up the good work in these challenging times.
