I’m sure all the personal trainers here work hard and are a credit to the company. Shame about the ‘manager’ I had the misfortune of dealing with. I was simply enquiring about a corporate membership and trying to negotiate a fee for the year, as my partner and two friends were being offered a slightly cheaper deal. Who on earth would agree to pay more when three other people were with me and were being charged less? There should have been some room for negotiation, but she obviously didn’t like to be questioned about this and tried to embarrass me by questioning my company and then resorted to personally insulting me. Her manner was appalling and completely unprofessional. I have no idea how she is in that role as she was not familiar with pricing or negotiating any kind of deal. She missed out on four people joining ‘her gym’ that day. I loved being told by her that the place wasn’t for me and that she didn’t want my kind at that gym, when I was polite at all times and earn her yearly salary in a week... Complete disgrace who should learn professionalism and business skills. For her to pass comment on me and to judge me showed her ignorance and complete disregard for the company she is employed by. To be personally insulted by her was a joke when I was merely trying to arrange a membership. I‘m sure I’m not the only person she’s offended during her time there. She’s either brave or just completely switched off from dealing with people. The two stars are for the staff who have to work under her... What an embarrassment of a ‘manager’.

Used this store for past 2 years had been great till yesterday. Went to buy trainer's and prices were wrong even though it said the price under shoe was at least 3 pairs I picked up all with wrong prices and staff were not helpful at all. Went sports direct and got same pair of trainers for the price I did see in DW sports I won't be coming here anymore

Best gym in st helens by far!! all around nice gym!! clean pool/spa area, clean and state of the art equipment. The only con i have got is its very busy between 4&7 on a week day but cant be helped. p.s the staff are very welcoming on arrival and departure :) Thank you DW

After paying for the service they then play lots of advertisements over the speakers. The pool is maintained at a temperature too low. Jacuzzi and steam rood cycle between on and off.

The gym is overpriced, especially given that you have to sign up for a minimum of 12 months. Though I would say that you do get what you pay for. The gym floor is large with a large variety of different machines and you can typically always get on the one you want to use. There’s a great selection of classes that are all included with the membership. You do have to book onto them, but it’s easy to do on the website.

Joined this gym two and a half months ago and haven't looked back. The staff are great, an absolute credit to the place, it's like being met by an old friend when you arrive - makes for a good atmosphere. The other members are really friendly too and make you feel welcome from day one. The gym itself has a great range of equipment. Machine are all of a high standard and any broken ones are fixed quickly. There is a large weights area with plenty of space and a cardio training area which is really good. I'm really lazy when it comes to motivating myself so the classes are really good for me and there is a good range. The instructors really know their stuff, keeping you pushing as far as you can but with a great attitude to your personal safety, and motivate you to carry on when you feel like crawling out on your hands and knees or crying in a corner. The changing rooms are spacious and well kept, the showers hot and powerful. The pool is really good, never too busy so plenty of room to have a proper swim. Yes, the water is a little cooler sometimes. Swim a bit quicker, you'll soon warm up! Steam room is great for relaxing after your workout. Really cannot recommend this place enough. The weight is coming off, things toning up and starting to go back where they should be instead of wobbling about on my lap. If you join this club and can give me a legitimate reason why you don't like it, I'll give you your money back myself (T's and C's apply*).

Great gym and good benefits you get when joining the gym, the staff are very nice and treat you with respect, i have left here in the past and they didn't seem to mind it so i can't comment on the below ones for that case. The food from the cafe is nice but it would be nice to have more privacy in the changing rooms.. I mean walking in seeing some dude naked isn't the best sight to behold when you first walk in the changing room.

It is a great clean gym. The only problem is the class booking system. I got to the gym two minutes late to find they'd closed the class and given my place away. I was stuck n traffic. So annoyed as I know someone is saving bikes in the spin class so annoying

Had a great swim

Joined the gym in July and was very happy, contacted the gym to cancel as I was sold a 12 month contract (with the option to leave after 6 months) to be told that I couldn’t leave and the lady who sold me the plan had left so they couldn’t take my word. Waited 2 days for a call off the branch manager to be told there was nothing she could do despite me making clear I had been miss sold this membership. Not the first person I know to be disappointed with customer services. Try boundary road gym instead as it’s much cheaper and staff are more helpful.
