Excellent for what it is! I've stayed here a number of times and it is always an excellent offering for its class of accomdation. Prices are great, rooms and public areas are clean & room features are basic yet functionable. The venue is secure and the staff are always welcoming, friendly and helpful. A food and drink offering, a common room and other facilities are available on the site. However some of the rooms are better furbished than others. City centre location so excellent access to everything. However, this is on a main road and a basically constructed building, so expect some noise from outside and other rooms. This accommodation offers a small amount of free parking for guests, which is a big plus.

The hostel is quite good but was not up to the mark as I have stayed in many other hostels. This was okay. The location was somewhat confusing. In one way, it was very well located but somehow not in the centre of the city. I must specially thank Chris, the receptionist who actually guided me very well with the must-see places in Liverpool and just because of his guidance I could taste the authentic local cuisine Scouse at Maggie May's. I wish every receptionist were like him!! Thanks, Chris.

The good: The staff is very nice and helpful, Beds are comfortable, lockers are big enough for all your things, the hostel it's in a very nice area close to most turist places and bus stations. The bad: bathrooms weren't cleaned for the 3 days I stayed, showers are uncomfortable and there was no hot water for a day. WiFi didn't work.

Great location, amazing service, very friendly staff, comfortable bed and room. Highly recommend. Thanks for the amazing recommendation to explore the city. Really appreciate it. Free parking on the site. FYI, Use their official website to make a booking as they offer youth discount and seasonal sales. Yha.org.uk

Really liked our stay here. We planned a trip to Liverpool to see the stadium and other tourist places. Since we were hard pressed for time, we decided to make it a short trip of less than 2 days (1.5 days and 1 night). This meant that hotel options were limited since all of them were expensive for this short stay and not worth it since we won’t be in the room for long. We just needed a place to crash. After going through hostel online we found this place that offered it at 35£ a night. Thought it might be sketchy since well you can’t expect much from a hostel but my god were we in for a pleasant surprise. The outside garden is so well maintained and clean. The common areas are well maintained and tidy as well. The staff who received us were kind (and I made the payment only in person although the reservation was made online a week ago). Keep in mind - you need to provide your card details to make a reservation (understandable because if you decide to cancel outside the period that they allow for cancellation, they should be able to charge you). The staff explained everything clearly. We enter the room and were so happy to see how clean the sheets were. The rooms were nice and warm. There was no loud noise from outside the rooms. The showers were not functional on our floors but the staff politely apologised for the inconvenience and also guided us on how to use the top floor showers. What was really helpful was that there was a notice inside the room attached to the backside of the main door explaining how to get to the top floor shower and apologising for the non functional shower on the floor that the room was on. Excellent work, I was mightily impressed. They also offer breakfast between 7.30-9.30. I highly recommend this stay and I’ll probably go there again next time.

Was good value for money the TV didn't work and the wi fi wasn't good though no draught beer in the bar but did notice 2 new ones installed on my last day friendly staff was good that shower and toilet was in the actual room hopefully the TV and wi fi will be sorted out as they were the only faults

Brilliant, clean and so, so convenient. Some parking, all accessible. Fantastic value and the staff were top notch. Liverpool vs Everton was on so a real mix of visitors. Self cook kitchen very well appointed and the rascals said the ordered breakfast was grand. Gave five stars for everything because the value was unbelievable. If you want the Hilton then pay Hilton prices. If you want a base to go and do things then the YHA is hard to beat. Will use again

A Gem in the Heart of It All! I recently had the pleasure of staying at this charming youth hostel, and it was an absolute delight from start to finish. If you're looking for an authentic English experience on a budget, this place is a hidden gem. The hostel's location couldn't be better. It's right in the heart of the action, surrounded by shops, cafes, and cultural attractions. Whether you're into shopping, sightseeing, or just soaking up the local vibe, you'll find it all within walking distance. The dormitories are cozy and comfortable, with clean bedding and secure lockers. While the rooms are relatively basic, they provide everything you need for a good night's sleep after exploring the city. It's perfect for travelers who prioritize location and value. The English breakfast served here is decent, though not exceptional. You'll get the traditional eggs, toast, and sausages, which is a great way to start your day. It's worth noting that there are plenty of local eateries nearby if you're looking for more variety. What truly sets this place apart is the warm and friendly service. The staff members are incredibly helpful and accommodating. They provided excellent recommendations for local attractions and dining options, ensuring that I had a memorable stay. In summary, if you're a budget-conscious traveler who values a central location and a friendly atmosphere over extravagant amenities, this youth hostel is an excellent choice. It offers a comfortable place to rest your head and serves as the perfect launchpad for exploring all that this vibrant city has to offer. I would gladly return for another stay!

A very nice hostel. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were large and spacious. Prices were very reasonable. The staff was very patient, very understanding, very friendly and very caring. The only hotel I was satisfied with in Liverpool. This will be my favorite place to stay from now on.

I enjoyed staying in this hostel! Very well located, nice, friendly and helpful staff. They even allowed me to check-in earlier because my room was ready, which I found great! Thanks for the flexibility and for your welcome. The room and the bathroom were very clean. I have almost never seen an hostel like this regarding to the cleanliness and the similarity between photos/reality. Moreover I booked last minute and it was quite cheap. Could only recommend!

Very clean and well looked after hostel. Good value to for a large city centre location with free and secure parking. Would have been nice to know I could have ordered breakfast. Opportunity missed on all sides. That said, perfect location for a Liverpool city adventure.

Paid for a private room due to a work commitment; the on-site manager half way through walked into the room without knocking, because he didn’t see a need to leaving me to feel very exposed and vulnerable. When I complained later the manager dismissed my concerns saying it didn’t matter. When I complained to head office they agreed it didn’t matter. Paid for a private space and never got that space.

The experience was not good, the mattress was quite hollow. The showers on the first floor did not have hot water. The wifi was not working

The showers are very poorly designed. The one I used had a timeout light and the door wouldn’t close. Apart from that a decent stay

Stayed here for a night out in Liverpool for a friends birthday. It was a group booking of 20 girls with ages ranging from 20 up to 75. Great location. The hostel was clean same with our rooms staff were very helpful and polite nothing was too much trouble! Check in was smooth and quick for saying we were a large group. The rooms were a really good price compared to other hotels Liverpool that were over double the price. It wasn’t a problem to leave our bags on arrival as couldn’t get in the rooms till 3pm but there is a great little pub across the rd while we waited for our rooms to be ready. It was the same on checkout we could leave our luggage while going to do some sightseeing before heading home. Great stay and wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again!

Fantastic stay for 3 nights with a school trip! The bedrooms were super clean. The staff really friendly and the breakfast were great. You can self cater too though. Great location for links to the city, museums, restaurants. It's near a main road but your in the city centre so to be expected. So welcoming and a lot on offer with a tv lounge, en suite and secure area. Nice garden area too. Highly recommended!!!

Great hostel for a great price in a central location. Staff were friendly and helpful. I had a nice large room with a very clean bathroom and shower. The breakfast I can’t judge because I didn’t have it, but the pricing seemed fair. Would definitely recommend, although the wifi is extremely slow.

Very cool place. Windows do not open properly so avoid hot days or stay on the ground floor.

Kleiner Shop in direkter Nähe vorhanden. Zentrumsnah.

Best breakfast ever, and it's free! They also let you in late at night regardless of how drunk you are and when you black out after going to the toilet the floor is soft enough to cushion the blow!

This was my first time in a hostel, I stayed in a private room for one night. I can't complain - the room had a bed that felt comfortable, several power sockets, a personal light for each bed, a heater, windows that could be opened, a table with chairs, clothing hangers and a wardrobe. The staff were helpful and there to assist with queries and issues. The single issue I had during my stay was quickly resolved when I let them know. I didn't make use of any facility outside of my room aside from the toilets, nor did I use the Wi-Fi, so I can't comment on those. The location is decent. It's a 10ish or 15ish minute walk from Liverpool city centre, which was perfectly fine for me. Nearby you'll find a Tesco Express (open until 11pm) and a pub (though for some reason the Tesco Express doesn't show up on Google Maps for me). Overall, I was satisfied with my stay and I think it was good value for the price I paid. I would definitely consider staying here again should the opportunity arise. I would recommend this hostel to those who are on a budget and are happy to stay in a room that mostly has just the essentials.

I liked everything about this hostel, and it is within easy walking distance of the center and docks. I was able to make my own food in the large kitchen. I can see they accommodate groups and individuals, with social and rec space. I do think Google does a disservice by classifying it as a highest level hotel, when it's something different.

Clean rooms with enough functions you need for a cheap stopover. Modern funky design interior with friendly staff. 24hour access and parking for approx 25/30 cars had no problem getting a space. Check out 10am. Only bad point the shower didn't work very well just trickled out but still usable.

Just found this place after visiting it in 2017 with my high school senior trip. The rooms were clean and the bathroom worked fine. The bunk beds reminded me of summer camp experience feels good to be in that settings with homies.

Nice clean hostel with friendly staff. Due to location fab for weekend parties, but they didn't get in way of our little family get away. ;-) So convenient to be so close to town and we were even lucky to get one of the few parking slots available on site. Plenty to do in hostel for the kids too with ping pong table, games and nice TV room. Very recommendable for city break.

Very friendly and helpful staff. We stayed with a group of school children and the rooms were perfect. Breakfast plentiful, hot and easily served. Love the water bottle refiller and the possibility of buying travel essentials if needed. Little café a good addition for a cup of tea or even an evening meal. Allowed us to order a takeaway in one night without any problems. Would definitely return.

Fantastic location! Great sized rooms. Super friendly staff. Very clean. Communal kitchen, plus food to order. Nice and comfy common area/foyer. In-room bathroom clean.

Fantastic hostel, very modern and spacious! Our room (4 bed en suite) was large and comfortable and the common areas were great for relaxing in. We really appreciated being able to come and go as we pleased during the daytime. The only negative is that the kitchen was a bit dirty - not the fault of the hostel staff, as it was spotless at lunchtimes, sadly some hostellers didn't clean up properly after cooking

This place is perfect for the price! Staff was super outgoing, guy at the front desk talked to me for ages about dinner recommendations, cool sites to see, and helped me navigate to a work interview I was in town for. The rooms were clean and quiet and other guests were polite and friendly. Location is close to the docks and is walkable to a lot of neat things to see!

This was our first hostel experience. We usually opt for hotels. The problem with hotels of course is family rooms usually accommodate a couple and two children. We have three children. We all stayed at YHA Liverpool in a private room with its own shower cubicle and toilet. It had three bunk beds so could accommodate 6 people so ample space for the five of us. The room was large. Everything was comfortable and the bunk beds were an adventure for the little ones and they did not want to leave. We are a Muslim family so really appreciated the fact that we could have our own space to offer prayers in the room and take our own food rather than have to be selective due to our dietary requirements. The dining room was superb and the shared kitchen was spacious with excellent cooking facilities. The staff were very nice and helpful. On check in when I asked if we could use the dining room to eat our own food we were told to just make ourselves at home and use whatever facilities we needed included to eat our own food. Excellent attitude from staff. The kids made a mess at breakfast time so I went looking for a dustpan and brush and was just told that it would all be cleaned and I shouldn’t worry about it. There was space for sitting outside. There was no issue with noise and everything was very clean. Excellent value for money. We will stay at YHA hostels again. At hotels sometimes you feel self-conscious because of other guests but at the hostel the atmosphere was relaxed and you could just be yourself. Very happy with everything. Very relaxing and very comfortable and the sights of Liverpool around Albert Docks etc was great. The hostel was close to all the tourist sites. Brilliant time.

C C & C chris, charlie and craig are the C team not that C is a rating as everyone there provides an AAA star service at YHA albert dock the facilities are excellent and i never needed to leave as live entertainment is on tap 24/7 they even laughed at one of my jokes Craig as head of laundry did not even question my taste in unmatched socks…………. ……thank you all 💔💔💔

First time staying in a hostel and will definitely not be the last. Great staff. Close to all the tourist attractions. Comfortable bunk beds + bedside light. Tesco round the corner that closes late + guests respectful of shared facilities. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Have just returned from a 2 night stay here. We have stayed at other Youth Hostel locations though this was our first time at this one. The free parking and central location were definitely plus points. The hostel was clean and tidy. The room we had was large enough for the four of us with a double bed, a set of bunk beds and a couch as well as private en suite facilities and a cupboard/locker. There was a problem with the water pressure in our room making the shower unusable (our only real criticism of our stay), staff were aware and advised us to use the communal ones across the hall (one of these also seemed to be suffering with the same issue). All facilities were clean. Breakfast was lovely and plentiful for us. Another plus point is the communal kitchen area where you can bring your own food to prepare and cook or just heat up pre prepared meals, everybody who used them made sure to leave them clean and tidy for the next people (it is big enough for 2 groups to use at the same time with 2 ovens/hobs, 2 microwaves, 2 sinks as well as plenty of plates/cups/cutlery etc.). Staff were all friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again.

Great staff, nice hostel too. The only thing not not making it a 5* stay is the wifi. It really is the worst in the world. It's Terribly slow. It disconnects literally every 5 seconds. I cant even finish typing a message before it disconnects. when I tried to load this page the wifi had disconnected. I had re-connected and before I could even finish typing this it diconnected again.
