I stayed at this site when travelling from the south of England to Belfast. Great location close to the beach however not accessible from the site. There's endless walk and cycling trails. Just 25 minutes from Birkenhead ferry. Site staff are friendly and the usual facilities which are maintained to a high standard . There's a laundry on-site and an enclosed playground for the wee ones. Pitches are large with electric hook up. Highly recommended. A must when catching a ferry the following morning. 5 stars

We stayed here for one night to catch the boat the next morning. This is a beautiful site. Super friendly. Nice big site spots, good space between sites, and I think most spots have a nice view too. Very accessible to lovely walks. I thought the site was a bit expensive for one night at Β£59 (we just paid Β£23 a night elsewhere, and the most we have paid so far was Β£30) but everything is included in that price. Depending on where your spot is it can be a bit of a walk to empty your toilet as there is only one unit based at the showers, didn't really bother me though. Overall a lovely place and somewhere we'll def visit again. Highly recommended.

A great location for walks and close to The Dee Estuary. A great pitch really wide and not overlooked by neighbours. Pleasant staff , peaceful . Hot weather prevented us taking 3 doggies on long walks but right opposite the entrance is part of the Wirral Way which offered shade for a short dog walk to the sailing club overlooking the estuary. Visiting fish and chip van on Tuesdays. Huge portions. New Pizza guy on Fridays started tonight. Reasonable price authentic taste . All in all a pleasant stay and the birdsong is amazing . I just wish I could identify the birds lol

Beautiful place to visit. Plenty of parking. You can walk, cycle or ride your horse around the country park. It has two fantastic places to eat, drink and refresh yourselves, dog friendly and has ice cream for dogs. Ponds with ducks, bbq areas to have parties and outstanding views of the beach and sea. Plenty of places to sit and have your lovely picnic xxx The beach is accessible down a winding path and steep steps, or walk to the sailing club where you can walk down to the beach via boat launch road which has no steps. Nearby is also the TCOA where you are made welcome to join the club and have drinks at the bar and watch the bands that perform for local charities. Next door is the Wirral Touring Caravan Site. A short walk up the road is also the new Strawberry Moon which serves meals and drinks, inside and outside seating and acts on at the weekend.

Lovely weekend visit here and it's an idyllic spot, with views out towards North Wales and the River Dee coming in and out on the tide. The wirral circular path is opposite the front gate so you can walk πŸšΆβ€β™‚οΈ all the way up to West Kirby and Hoylake easily on the disused railway line πŸ˜€. Very well staffed and a warm welcome was given to us when we were booking in. The site has plenty of pitches tucked away in little alcoves which makes the site feel smaller but isn't really. We will definitely be back again as it's only an hour and a half away.

This site is situated in a fantastic location right by the coast with walking access to the sea and West Kirby along the old railway line.... The site is clean and tidy but lacking in character. There is now no shop of any kind on site and you cannot get gas bottles or essentials at all, which I understand is because the new wardens have decided not to supply them this year which is a huge shame. The site also seems to lack an individual touch with few flower or plant pots out... Overall,a bit disappointing despite the great location.

Stayed for 2nights. Relaxed peaceful site. Facilities busy (it's may half term) but are well maintained. Playground looking a little tired, toilets have occasionally been messy. Stunning location. Family friendly dogs allowed. There's no grocery shop within easy walking distance so stock up before you get here. Wirral country park is a short walk down the road. Recommended.

Been here loads of times. The worst weather we've ever had. But doubt it will keep us away. My sons were both poorly with sickness and we had an issue with leaving on Saturday. But the wardens were very accommodating. Tha k you for your help in the matter.

We were booked in for 3 nights here. 1st time to the site, we will come again. Close to family, which was the reason for the trip. Nice layout, clean ablutions, easy to find with Google maps. Friendly, helpful staff on site. Tidy site, overlooking the River Dee. The fish and chip van visits on a Tuesday evening. We can recommend them. They also have a pizza guy on a Friday evening too. You are welcome to use the social club meant for the Thurstaston Caravan Owners Club, where they have live music and bingo. It is only open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

This is a friendly and well-run campsite with a conveniently appointed motorhome service area. Lovely little information hut near the entrance, where books and DVDs can be borrowed. Enjoy spectacular sunsets over the Dee Estuary and close proximity to the Country Park itself, for some great walks and a coffee at Flissy’s. The camp is dog-friendly. There’s no designated dog walk area, but a great walk along the route of an old railway line can be accessed right opposite the camp entrance, with two parallel walks to choose from, and perfect for our dogs to have a run if it’s quiet. We’ve visited this site a number of times and have always enjoyed our stay.

We have stayed at this caravan park a few times now and it never disappoints. It is in such a beautiful place very relaxing. There are lots of walks to do or use a bicycle. There is a lovely little beach too not to far from the site. The facilities are great. Also a lovely little playground for children to use. The shop on site is well stocked and the staff are always really friendly and helpful. There is a fish and chip van that turns up on a Tuesday night and cooks the food fresh whilst you wait it is delicious. It is definitely somewhere to go if you'd like a relaxing stay.

Dee Dog park is hands down the loveliest place to let my dog have freedom. Take a coffee and enjoy the beautiful views.

Had an amazing weekend with family here! The beach being a few mins away was fantastic! The kids loved playing in the sea. Nice quiet area for a great family holiday

Loved looking at birds feeding at the back of the centre. Not bang up to date but still a useful stopping off place for a coffee and cake.

We had an excellent time there. Location is perfect. Next to Wirral circular cycle path and close to beach. One central toilet and shower block very clean. Wardens were very helpful.

Typical C&MC site. Well maintained, clean, & friendly Wardens. Good location & close to beach. Lost a star for the nightly fee, which is expensive.

A bit chaotic with 7 caravans trying to book in for 1pm have to park up on narrow road outside then a free for all trying to find a pitch! Friendly staff and a very well kept site. My only gripe apart from checking in is they could do with more service points 3 showers in men's block not enough & if you don't like dogs don't come here because lot's of caravaners here bring them! Highlight of the week Tuesday evening a fish and chip van comes here awesome fish and chips best I've had in ages worth a trip alone just for that!

First impressions and CAMC site/stay for us as new members. Very helpful staff! Always keeping the site clean and making sure everyone is having a great stay. Great views and walks from the caravan site. Highly recommend a walk down to Flissys coffee shop for lunch and a ice cream. We had a view over the Wirral estuary what was lovely to wake up to. The site was trialling mobile pizza stand on a Friday (very popular) can definitely recommend grabbing a pizza from there.

Wirral Country Park was recommended to us kast year whilst we were in Anglesea. Lovely location, very quiet and beautiful views. Great fot walking & cycling directly from the site. Staff were friendly & helpful. Fish & chip van on Tuesday was exceptional. Thank you

Lovely site, very clean and beautifully kept. Wardens are very helpful. There is a fish znd chip van that comes on a Tuesday 5 - 7pm. We'll worth a visit, delicious food, 8.95 a portion and it was huge!! Great for getting into Liverpool. Go through the Queensway tunnel, costs Β£2.00 each way. Only 20 mins drive from site. Loads of parking in Liverpool znd a great city to explore.

Lovely setting for a relaxing weekend. Sat right next to the Wirral way cycle track, it's ideal for taking the bikes for all as you don't need to ride on any roads. There is also a nice circular beach walk from the yacht club back to the site. Good cafe that serves nice ice cream close by.

Lovely site with friendly helpful wardens. Visited with granddaughter for 2 nights, she thought it was great and spent a long time playing with other children and improving her bicycle riding skills on the safe roadways. Can thoroughly recommend the visiting fish and chip van on a Tuesday night.

This is a great site, clean and tidy; a credit to all the friendly helpful staff. Plenty of walks and the old railway track, now the Wirral way is a bonus. Plenty of cafes in West Kirby 2.75mls away as well as others in the locality. We have already booked for other visits.

Lovely site. Very well managed. Great views of the Dee estuary. Loved the cycle path running past the site - ideal route both ways. Stopped off for a few days before catching an early morning ferry back to Belfast..perfect. Will certainly be back if we can find a space..it's very popular.

Great site in a great position. Very popular, difficult to get the dates you want unless you book months ahead. The CC booking system doesn't help in that one can book odd days and weekends a year or more ahead. I wonder how many bookings are taken up or cancelled at the last minute?

Great site great weather and the usual high standard maintained that you expect from a CAMC site. Also had basic provisions you could buy at office so very handy with no supermarket close by

Nice site, lots of little separate areas, good size pitches, just 3 pitches with clear unobstructed views over the estuary and several where you can see over a hedge. Toilet block needs updating though, very dark inside not particulatrly hot water and messy - although thats no fault of the wardens!! And this has nothing to do with how the site is but NEVER been on a site before where so many people think its ok.to cut through your pitch no matter if you're sat outside or caravan door is open - rude!!

We had a lovely Relaxing stay at Wirral Country Park. Very clean shower block & Bin area. And a very well presented floral and grassed areas. The fish & chip van was a glorious addition to our stay. Easy walks down the wooded lanes to the beach. We will be back again.

We arrived early but were met with a gruff response from one of the wardens. We eventually got set up on our pitch and were very happy. The views were amazing. The lady warden was very friendly and helpful. So much to do in the area we have booked a return trip.

This is a return visit having enjoyed our stay last year. The site is in a beautiful location with lovely views over the Dee estuary. If you want a relaxing break this is the place to be, having said that if you are feeling energetic there are lovely walks and plenty of safe cycling for all age groups this is also the place to be. The pitches are excellent, together with good covid secure facilities. The staff are all great, extremely friendly and welcoming. Well done Wirral CMC.

Thurstaston beach was brilliant. Lots of mud so trainers scrubbed when we got home. Definitely worth a visit and will be back. Walked some of the forest walk. So looked after. Lovely visitors centre. Everything you need xx

Staff lovely and so helpful. Convenient for exploring the Wirral area. A busy site in June so relatively crowded and given this and the top of the range prices the Caravan & Motorhome Club are charging I expect better.

  • 5/5 Roger C. 1 year ago on Google
We have been to lots of different caravan and motorhome club sites, and we have a few favourites. This site is definitely going on the favourites list! It's a lovely site, very well situated for Thurstaston beach and for the country park next door, with great views over the Dee estuary.

  • 4/5 Sharon B. 1 year ago on Google
We really enjoyed our stay, so much we are returning very soon for a longer stay. Only thing I could pick up was only 4 showers for the whole site and the toilet emptying was a long walk for a lot of pitches.

  • 4/5 Valerie A. 1 year ago on Google
Lovley Park, the staff are so friendly, and the shop has all the essentials that you need, you can even borrow toys for the children, well worth a visit πŸ˜€ very well kept and a lovley playground my grandaughter had a great time, the only little complaint I have is it could do with some more lighting at night, it is very dark when you have to visit the shower block, other than that we had a fantastic time,
