Lovely old school pub off the front in New Brighton.. It's near a lovely park too. Friendly service and a lovely pint. Cask ales are served.. Including guest ales. Well kept and refreshing ale.. Hosts its own beer festival and in the good beer guide. Also won a number of awards. It has a variety of rooms and also dartboard which is always a bonus!! Popped in for one on a bike ride... Highly recommended 🚲 🍻 ☀ 🎯 ⛴

Stayed locally and popped over for a drink on a couple of nights. Friday we ordered fish and chips which was huge. Draft beer and cider selection is good and service with a smile

Old fashioned boozer with excellent ales and lovely food. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Best fish and chips on Wirral. Every time we go there we meet new people and have a good time with them.

Beautiful quaint pub. Beautiful hanging baskets and lovely view overlooking the water. Only stopped for a drink but the food smelt lovely. Quite a busy beer garden but the front of the pub was just as nice to sit at. Lovely friendly staff.

Traditional old style pub in a really nice setting so popped in for some lunch and a beer the other day. Food was delicious and excellent value. Beer was quality and the sign of a well kept cellar which is sadly not often the case with many pubs these days. Can honestly say this place would be my regular if I lived locally. Will certainly be back.

Always been a nice pub to visit and a good pint coupled with nice friendly staff. Unfortunately we have not eaten there mainly that the Toilets absolutely stink if they won't clean the toilets what state is the kitchen in such a shame but they have not been cleaned I have visited the magazine many times and they are still very smelly. Hey Mags get them cleaned up and keep them clean

Excellent pub for real beer drinkers. No TV screens. Occasional live music. Beer festivals, cider festivals. CAMRA pub of the year several times. My local and I love it!

I don’t want to sing this pub’s praises too much lest it gets too popular but it deserves every award it wins. Great ale (camra winner over and over), good homemade food in ridiculous proportions (thankfully they have small sizes), lovely staff, best beer garden, live music on a Saturday - it is just amazing!

Great place to visit - the girls behind the bar very friendly, warm smiles and happy to help. Tuesday night is Folk Club - live music (unplugged) - great choices of songs being sung and guitars, banjos, violins, recorders and percussion being played. A good time had by all in this venue so it seems.

Saturday night and the band "Xerba" were great. Probably the best cask ale in New Brighton too. Maybe open the windows though as the place was packed to the rafters with happy dancing customers.

Beautiful traditional pub next to the river with very friendly staff and full of history and atmosphere. A family favourite of ours for years, and excellent beer as well ;) They have the very hard to find draft Bass!

Been a few years since visiting 'The Mags'. Went to play a crown green bowls league game. Nice hot day and a very pleasant pint of cider afterwards. The pub is quaint and has a good selection of draft beers. I will be going back to try the food which I am told is very good. WTch this space for a further report.

Excellent little old fashioned style pub. Not many left. Had a lovely early afternoon meal with a friend. Very tasty, above average, pub food quality, with good service, staff very friendly. 👌

Great pub. Top quality beers, largers and wine. Fantastic service. Welcoming atmosphere. Unfortunately high chairs and tables very unsuitable for older regulars. Obviously other seats available but with the low ceiling seems odd to jave introduced them at all. A very good pub indeed.

Called on our walk by the Mersey, up a hill but good beer, pleasant service. We didn't eat but the menu looked worth a visit again.

👍 This is one of the closest pubs to home but I haven't eaten here for years. Gave it a try on a sunny Tuesday evening and it was pretty good! The pub wasn't too busy but there were more people in than I expected on a Tuesday, creating a nice atmosphere. The staff were all super friendly and helpful....

👍👍 Had to downgrade our review unfortunately. Went back tonight for the steak night. The food was tasty but we were asked how we wanted the steaks cooked, we both asked for medium rare however I would say they were well done and quite dry. I could have complained but they were edible. If the chef can't...
