Beautiful building, filled with fabulous objects and paintings. Wheelchair access is great and parking nearby is free. The gallery is set in the chocolate box village of Port Sunlight, which is worth a visit in itself. The cafe had very nice staff and the food was OK but as it's in the basement there's unfortunately no view. We'll worth visiting and I'll definitely visit again as they have changing exhibitions and hold activities for children.

Awesome art gallery with large collection of paintings, statues and decorative art. I always pop in the gift shop and Café. Port Sunlight is one of my favourite places, and not just because I used to live there, but because it is such a beautiful village.

Excellent collection of art and artifacts collected by the Lever family in particular. Interesting information in places. Well laid out, you just need to be methodical in your visit. The fairy work was amazing, the detail in the drawings immense. Highly recommended this for any budding art student. The surrounding area is a must see too. No photos of gallery as not allowed but others provided.

Not actually a Victorian Museum as it was created a little too late but maybe one of the later museums built by people of the Victorian age. It is wonderful in the literal sense of the word and just full of stuff. Mostly classical or neo classical and with a good representation of Pre Raphaelite. Maybe some are showing their age and in need of a bit of restoration but I think this just adds to the atmosphere. An easy place to get to with the Liverpool to Chester service close by.

Philanthropy at its best... In the whole surrounding village and environment as well in the beautiful and stunning Gallery. The cafe also provided extremely good quality dishes which were thoroughly enjoyed by all. The gift shop is beautifully dressed with some stunning gifts, reflecting and complementing Art found at many of the UK National galleries. However I found it sad that much of that on sale had been made in other places around the world and little from Artists, Designers, Workshops or Manufacturers in the UK.

Set in the beautiful village of port sunlight, it cost us £3 return on the train from liverpool, i must admit it came as a surprise just how good this gallery is. We did buy lunch here, but otherwise free entry.

Beautiful gallery, one of my favourite art galleries to visit!! Staff are wonderful and are super easy to approach if any questions were to be asked. The atmosphere is lovely, as it's not too busy but not too quiet! After visiting the gallery, I recommend visiting the Port Sunlight village itself on a sunny day!

A truly lovely museum. Not enormous but full of treasures. We went to see the Boodles exhibition and it didn't fail to impress. The history of the firm and to see such fabulous jewelry was a treat. The museum is not far from the train station and walking through Port Sunlight village is a pleasure too. There is a cafe in the basement of the museum in which you can refresh yourself with various hot and cold dishes. Would recommend a visit to this little gem, perhaps it's smaller than the other Liverpool museums but it's full of wonderful artifacts.

Wonderful art collection including an impressive number of Pre-Raphaelite paintings. In addition to paintings there are many pieces from Lord Leverhulme’s personal collections of ceramics, furniture and other objet d’art.

A gem in the Liverpool Musuem family. The Lady Lever art gallery has some of the best examples of period furniture, paintings and statues. The highlight has to be the extensive collection of Wedgwood pottery.

A fine collection of paintings and sculpture in a beautifully laid out building in the centre of the historic village of Port sunlight. Worth a visit if you're in the area for the day. Cafe downstairs is very good also selling a wide variety of drinks and foods.

I have visited this lovely gallery a few times and have always enjoyed wandering around looking at the fabulous paintings and other treasures. It was built by Lord Lever in honour of his wife and is the second largest building in the world built as such a tribute, the first being the Taj Mahal. I was with a group this time and had arranged for a talk to be given by Fiona Slattery Clark, the Curator of Decorative Arts at National Museums Liverpool. At our request it focused on the fabulous collection of Chinese porcelain in the gallery but also included the history of the gallery and Lord Lever. A great talk and a good introduction a visit to the gallery.

The Lady Lever Art Gallery is a lovely building, with free readily available parking nearby. It has a magnificent collection of art including a good range of Pre-Raphaelite paintings and Wedgwood with interesting early advertisements of Sunlight Soap products. Movement around the gallery is easy and safe despite Covid restrictions. The cafe is spacious and supplies good value refreshments though there aren't outside tables.

Brilliant staff especially Sue, Heidi,Beth and Caroline. What lovely ladies. I wish all museum staff were like these. Very knowledgeable and I had a great chat about art and life. I have been to some museums where the staff looked like they'd glass you if you looked at them twice.

I love the Lady Lever Art Gallery. At the moment there is a Ceramics exhibition on and it is definitely a must see! Then a visit to the shop which always has lovely things especially great cards. Don't leave before you sample the food in the Cafe, you won't be disappointed.

Port Sunlight in its entirety is unmissable. There’s. Lot to cover and you’ll need at least a day to see PS properly but if you have the time the Lady Lever Art Gallery is worth visiting. It’s obviously not a world class collection but is nonetheless interesting and situated in a lovely building. I’m assuming that the art gallery is yet further evidence of Lever's commitment to the overall well-being of his staff.

What an absolutely wonderful place, free to visit too. Well worth going. I can't believe I'd never been before - I'll certainly be going back again. Even the fact that the toilets could have been one of the exhibits because they were that old...didn't spoil s great experience.

Immaculate collection of some of the world's best Pre-Raphaelite paintings and Jasper ware. The love story between Lord and Lady Lever is gorgeous, and the place would not exist without it. Amazing gallery in a fascinating village.

An ideal place to take my 3 yr old great granddaughter who was fascinated by the Size of the paintings and the size of the Royal bed and chairs. We hunted for the objects in the different rooms. She enjoyed playing with the bear jigsaw with different tasks. Zip, button, lace, belt etc Ann-Marie was very helpful in bringing paper for colouring with the pencils. The cafe was clean and the staff were very friendly. The refreshments were tasty and inexpensive. Will return again as there's lots more to see.

I went back 50 years on the 9th to Lady Lever Art Gallery. It's still homely and informative, I loved the Napoleon rooms as the three portraits of Wellington, Nelson and Napoleon are exquisite. Go enjoy it, it's free but, if you can make a donation for the upkeep! Your choice!

My personal favorite art gallery in the world. Its location alone makes it worth a visit as you can have a wonderful walk through the beautiful gardens that surround it as well as the Gallery itself. They have some really famous classical works, but often have more modern exhibits too and there's a real effort to have activities and rooms for children. The Cafe in the basement is also very pleasant. Free admission too. Great location for a date, or an afternoon out with the family.

What a lovely gallery space. The building is beautiful, set in the historic Port Sunlight village. The gallery itself is run by Liverpool Museums and they are doing an excellent job. There are good facilities in the basement (accessible toilets, a large cafe, events for kids and a nice shop), then lovely gallery rooms on the ground floor. The staff at the entrance and in the rooms could not have been more helpful and welcoming. It's free to go in, but deserves a generous donation!

As a regular visitor we love the works of art displayed in the Gallery, such a precious collection with something for everyone. The tearoom food is a bit disappointing. The toasted teacakes were not something we would want to have again, they seemed to be economy quality. Staff however are all really welcoming and helpful.

I had high expectations on my visit to the gallery, on arrival the building is very impressive , with two entrances, the lower through a very nice cafe, however I found parts of the gallery poorly lit even dark, lack of information on a lot of the exhibits, perhaps I'm the wrong person as I kept thinking, of the opulence and extravagance of the 1700/ 1800 century's, as opposed to the working classes, but had to content myself in the knowledge, not much has really changed, it's still the have yachts & the have nots, on the plus side free parking.
