Took a trip back in time to the 80s today and wish I could have stayed there. Who knew the food was so good and the staff so friendly and helpful! Drove over from Liverpool to sample the classic half pounder with cheese like I had done on my dinner break many times before and wasn’t disappointed. Food was great the place was immaculate and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Even had a chat to the manager who had worked there for many years. Can’t wait to go again, thanks for having me!

Had not been to wimpy in years took the kids was great. Burgers 🍔 and chips 🍟 all freshly cooked by the owner who was a lovely gentleman had worked there for 30 years and has kept it going through tough times I would imagine. If you want to enjoy a fresh burger and chips don’t hesitate to give wimpy a whirl that’s what it’s all about 😄

I hadn't been to Wimpy for over 10 years but popped in today for old times sake. The food was amazing, as expected but where the shone was the service provided by their waiting staff. They were kind, attentive, considerate and showed genuine kindness to a couple of other older customers who attended. It genuinely made my day seeing just how kind, open and generous each and every staff member was with their time and energies. Visiting this Wimpy, without exaggeration, made me feel a little bit better about the human race and the staff in there should be genuinely proud of what lovely people they are.

The food was excellent, and the service was fast once I ordered! Very good value for money for the quality of the food. The owner/manager who served me was very friendly, and will be glad to hear I got my train ok! 😂 Plus, when I had to leave, and asked for the rest of my drink to go, he very kindly refilled it for me at no extra charge, outstanding service! The restaurant was clean and the menu expansive. I would wholeheartedly recommend this chain over other burger chains, if the option is there.

So Wimpy located in the high street in Birkenhead. The space is rough-hewn, with 80s tables and floors, very typical 80s decore, an open kitchen which isn't producing hardly any haze . The restaurant is clean and there arn't no smells deeply rendering beef fat. The food is served once again using 80s dinner wear. It’s all good old proper Wimpy as how I remember my last visit to one in the early 90s. The restaurant is located in a rather rough area but this is forgivable because the burgers are fairly good. Indeed, I’d mark them, with the five gold stars. The wimpy beef isn’t overly minced still, and they prefer to serve them medium-rare, which is quite laudable, I had there new chili burger today at a price of £6.50. topped with bacon, onions, ginger and chili sauce mayo, ketchup and fresh, crisp leaves of baby gem, and sliced tomatoes, which are there to give the impression that this might be healthy eating lol On the side: I had a portion of there fries which were nothing remarkable but filled a hole Thankfully there is not a brioche bun within site, but a proper white burger bun which holds the burger together for about half the eating time, but that’s OK. By that point you already have half the sauce down your shirt and your forearms, and our desperately looking for more napkins as the one they give you is my only negative as it's pitiful

Loved it Burger and Chips the way its meant to be. It is a little more expensive than some other hamburger outlets but you get what you pay for and the service was spot on. My quarter pounder with special sauce was amazing!

Went here a few days ago for sausage, bacon and chips and it was brilliant. All your popular simple food but cooked really well! Exactly what I want. The owner who served and cooked was very friendly and attentive. It's so nice how it has survived given how basically all other wimpys have gone. Hopefully this one lasts

I've been wanting to visit a Wimpy for a few reasons... one to feel nostalgic about one of the places I went to eat as a kid but also in honour of my recently deceased aunt who used to visit our old Wimpy in Penge often with my mum. It's such a shame there aren't as many Wimpy branches as there used to be as the food is not only delicious it's much better quality than some of the leading burger chains. The burgers were juicy and a decent size, and the fries were pretty tasty... It's a good sign of a decent fry/chip if I don't need to smother them in ketchup. The prices are also pretty decent for the portion sizes you get. A nice touch is also being able to purchase the special sauce used in the quarter pounder in a bottle. You can purchase ketchup too but the special burger sauce is the one to go for; and it's a pretty big bottle for only £3.75. The guy who served us was also very friendly and spot on with his service. The reviews definitely do the Birkenhead Wimpy branch justice and I will definitely be visiting again. Thanks again. 😄

Wow, what a find! My husband turned 50 today, & he wanted some nostalgia, & to revisit one of his childhood favourite brands. Birkenhead is our closest Wimpy, so I decided to call ahead, before setting off. Sanj answered the phone, he was so friendly & passionate about his restaurant, & he said he’d look after us. We arrived to a very warm welcome, & nothing was too much trouble; the menu was extensive, the service was amazing, as was the food. Sanj really is a credit to the Hospitality Industry. We’ll be back!

Highly recommended. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. It was busy but we were immediately shown a table where it was warm and our drinks order taken immediately. We then chose our food, a classic Wimpy burger which did not disappoint. It was served to us hot. Can't wait to go back. Thanks again to the staff for making mine and mums day midweek day out. Definitely 10 out of 10.

I saw an employee (may have been the manager) displayed horrendous behaviour. I saw him yelling at a woman telling her not to sit on the chairs outside and to leave while she was only taking care her child who had fell over on concrete and cut his mouth, she told the man what she was doing and he still continued to yell at them to leave, this scared her child who began to cry and he still continued to yell and be condescending to the poor lady. keep in mind the place was completely empty and the lady and her child were out of the way of any entrances or exits. Me and my partner were considering trying the place out, but on witnessing this disgusting behaviour, we decided we didnt want to spend any money there. DONT GO HERE!!!

What an excellent find whilst on a trip to Wirral from North Wales. A lovely welcome from the very friendly staff. A good experience within a clean and tidy restaurant. The young lady who was waitressing tables was lovely. She was so polite and friendly. Very tentative service. Food was excellent value and great quality. Very happy with the service and experience. Will recommend and definitely visit again. 10/10. ✅

I rarely go Wimpy with my college pals but every time we do, it is the best cuisine experience of my life! The owners are delightful and lovely and the food is just exquisite! I went today with me(oscar) george and Curtis and I ordered a double wimpy burger with extra wimp and a wimpy float and it was just divine. Really recommend and if you go, expect to see me there too!!!!!!!

Bought 2 burgers with fries and 2 milkshakes. Total 33£. Not worth it. You can defenintely get something nicer at McDonald's for 10£ and you wouldn't need to wait like us for 30 minuttes. I'm sorry the staff was welcoming and nice but who makes a burger for 30 minuttes when the average time to serve people is 13 minuttes. For this 33£ we could have gotten 2 small pizzas at gordon Ramsays in Liverpool. SAVE YOUR MONEY!

An unplanned trip to Birkenhead ended with a visit to the last remaining Wimpy in the UK. It was a lovely bit of nostalgia from childhood. The family who run it were incredibly helpful and welcoming. Definitely worth a visit for those who have fond memories of Wimpy, particularly given the friendly service.

I dined in and was pleasantly enjoying my reasonably priced delicious beefy Gimpy burger only to then glance up and be horrified and what I saw. My window seat was situated directly opposite Heron Foods. Judging by their clientele they should rename it Heroin Foods. Ruined everything.

Really great value for a great quality burger meal. Cooked to order, and really delicious. I just wish there was one near Manchester, but still! So, if you want, come on over to this place!

Oh, How I have missed Wimpy's! Our last restaurant in Bristol closed when I was 11. Imagine my delight when I saw one up here! Saved for the last day of my trip and man, it did not disappoint. Everything was perfect, food exactly as I remember it. Chap serving was lovely, friendly and cheery. Knocking one star off as the price has jumped up exponentially, but as to food and staff, not a single fault. Restaurant was really clean and smart too, the decor was mildly updated but still reminded me of the old Wimpy's that we had. For a moment I was 11 again, out with the family. Thanks very much for a really enjoyable meal.

Visited this morning. Good service and comfortable, friendly atmosphere. Staff were very helpful and welcoming. Enjoyed a cheeseburger and a drink. Wimpys have a great menu to choose from at reasonable prices. I just wish there were even more Wimpy bars in and around Liverpool where I live so that I could go more often for a freshly cooked and satisfying meal.

A long time since I've been in here but was I NOT disappointed. Clean, friendly, nice atmosphere. Ordered our food but our drinks came first as we requested. Our food was hot, served on a plate with cutlery and serviettes. The food itself was gorgeous. Very tasty. So we had fast food, which took a few minutes longer, but was all there and not thrown at you in a paper bag.

The chef accidentally cooked a beef burger instead of a chicken burger but was very apologetic and without fuss took it away and made me a chicken burger. Good food, very polite staff and very hospitable. Will definitely come back again.

Shocking prices, even though the food wasn't to a bad standard, it was just OK not brilliant and I paid almost £35. I could have got the same amount of food for myself and my wife in Burger King for about £20 and their food is better. Although the restaurant was nicely fitted out and the server was friendly, £35 for two burgers and chips and a few drinks? C'mon!

The only thing this place has going for it is the man that works there. I would give him more than 5 stars. He is working the best he can under the terrible circumstances that he is in. Hats off to the shop actually being open and having fairy lights up. Birkenhead town centre is such a disappointment these days. Only a few days till Christmas and no festivities or decorations anywhere.

So damn awesome that the food taste exactly the same as the food at all Wimpy restaurants back in South Africa! I was mind blown! Was a good taste of home! Really good food! The burgers are the best and the service was super friendly and very welcoming
