Such a beautiful place to have a meal. Polite, friendly and conscientious staff who are so happy to help. We popped in by chance as our original choice couldn’t fit us in when we called. We were thrilled with our meal. Beautifully presented and wonderfully delicious. Gorgeous interior and so comfortable. A perfect lunch and a return visit guaranteed. Thanks to all at the Anchor.

Returned to the Anchor for the first time since COVID and had an excellent meal with exceptional service from Kerry and Amanda. The pub has a very relaxing atmosphere, well appointed and clean. The food was good quality, well cooked and presented. The menu is varied with a few different choices. Good to have something different and not the usual pub grub. It's a bit of a drive for us but we'll worthwhile. Looking forward to returning.

Sunday lunch very tasty. Starter and sweet good too. Good staff. Great place if you have a. dog. Probably costs a lot but compared with similar establishments worth every penny! Tu. One of the best in the Wirral. I think their chefs must be good.

We had a lovely roast dinner here today. I’d specifically asked for a table in a quiet corner of the restaurant due to health issues and they duly obliged. I was very grateful for this and it made our meal very comfortable. The restaurant itself is a very warm and inviting space, and the roast dinner was excellent. We will definitely be returning.

A fabulous New Years Eve spent at the Anchor, made special by all the staff who looked after us on the night. Every meal we had was great, I would highly recommend the Seabass and Chorizo. Well worth a return visit 😊

Lovely view outside as the table was near a window. Very important as mum is almost blind and can't see her food in dim light. Dog was welcomed 🐾. Menu was interesting, and staff were helpful and efficient. Unfortunately the table opposite were noisy, the children were in and out of the garden so it wasn't very relaxing. Next time we'll ask for child free & dog friendly!!

Had a great time here. Food has been wonderful each time. Not the cheapest but definitely worth the quality. Had a few drunk mistakes but they were swiftly sorted out. Friendly staff.

Another excellent meal at The Anchor Inn. Lucy is always so welcoming, food is consistently excellent, whichever day we choose to dine at The Anchor. Thank you to each and everyone who made our Valentine's Dinner so special. The Anchor Inn is a gem in Wirral.

Not familiar with the area that well, found the Anchor Inn online and thought we would try it.So happy we did, the food was fantastic , we had the fish and chips and probably the best I have had.Friendly service and very good value for money.Warm atmosphere with good lighting.A place you get dressed up for or casual at the same time. Also you can be there and have a conversation over drinks and dinner without loud tv's and loud people .Would recommend in a heartbeat. Will be back.

Had a really lovely lunch yesterday at The Anchor. First time there having driven from Manchester to take a relative out for lunch. Immediately felt welcomed walking in and the staff couldn’t have been more friendly and accommodating. The food was also delicious. Three meals from the lunch menu and no complaints whatsoever. I had the nourish bowl with added halloumi and chicken, it was huge and delicious. 5* plus from us!

Lovely roast, nice atmosphere but a little noisy and we were seated in a thoroughfare which wasn't ideal. Service was good, lacking a bit in initiative and had to ask....stained coffee cup (changed for another stained coffee cup) and still waiting for the glass of water! Would eat there again but perhaps not on busy evening

Wonderful pub great atmosphere with lovely food and drinks. Big thanks to Lucy who served us. Nothing was too much trouble on our special requests and we felt like family. So welcoming, homely and nice. 5 star service.

Food was delicious, nice menu. House wine was nice (Malbec). Unfortunately it was too hot in the restaurant area. Some fans or air con would've been nice .

The meal was for a special anniversary and I requested a table in a quiet and romantic position which was acted upon so very happy with that. The meal was absolutely lovely but the only thing I was slightly disappointed with was my garlic mushroom starter. It was served in a stainless steel bowl but it wasn't very hot and lacked a bit of seasoning. We will definitely be coming back as the meal in general was very good.

Helpful staff, Nice atmosphere with appropriate decor however food and wine costs on the high side. In this highly competitive market, there are much better value restaurants with similar offerings in the local area. I would not add this restaurant to my go again list.

You very kindly accommodated is for my dear Mum's sad farewell. I can't thank you enough for your kindness, thoughtfulness and professionalism during this time. I knew we were in very good hands and the food was delightful. All the staff were lovely with particular thanks to Peter for everything going so smoothly. I am very grateful for all you did. Kindest Regards. Diane

Beautiful old building, lovely location. My meal was nice but the other 3 individuals with me thought there’s was less than average. Service from main attendee wasn’t great either, not particularly friendly. Table was in an area with no heating, so sat with our coats on until I requested a move which was agreed. Table was booked for a birthday and there was no acknowledgment of this. Toilets looked like they needed a good clean, wouldn’t return.

We had an excellent meal in lovely cozy surroundings. The manager couldn't have been more attentive a long with the rest of the team. We were well looked after and it made the whole eating out experience far more enjoyable. Thank you

Went here for Sunday lunch. It was quite busy but the service and food was good. There are two parts to the pub. A bar area and a more formal restaurant area. The restaurant area has subdued lighting and has a more sophisticated atmosphere.

I recently visited and had the best experience & meal! I’ve got a long list of dietary restrictions & came expecting to enjoy a glass of wine while the rest of the party had a meal. Kerry, Gemma, and the kitchen went above & beyond to make me a safe delicious meal. I can’t tell you how much that meant to me. Thank you so much!

Had lunch today with friends have to say this place is one of the worst places I've eaten , the chicken and mozzarella sandwich was tastless, the salad was brown and limp consisting of a bucket of limp cress a 1/4 of tomato and a stick of cucumber, my friend orderd fillet steak sandwich which was tough as old boots, he couldnt eat it, the coffee was tepid the service slow although there were no more than 10 people in the place, two card machines out of order. All in all a very dissapointing experience.

This is a really nice place for a reasonably priced lunch with family. They have a good children's menu and nice lunch menu (and dinner!) which offer really good value for money. Staff are really helpful and friendly. I would definitely go back again.

Great experience. The staff were super lovely and attentive. I am diabetic and they went out their way to find out the sugar content in foods for me. Super kind. Food was yummy.

Really great meal. Service was welcoming and attentive. Food was excellent. They were really helpful with my dietary needs using a filtered ipad to show options that avoided allergens, and they were really understanding with my son's needs too. Recommended for a family meal. Not cheap, but worth every penny.

Had the Trio Sunday roast. Enormous, delicious fresh vegetables. Service was excellent even though it was filled to capacity. Would definitely recommend.

My partner and I have just returned home from a visit to the Anchor Inn for Sunday lunch and we really enjoyed our time there. We started with bread and olives and we both chose the roast beef for our main course. We were amazed by the size of the portions. Very generous indeed and all cooked beautifully. Our server was lovely and provided just the right amount of time in dealing with us, being pleasantly attentive but not overbearing. Excellent food and service.

Being completely honest we weren't that fussed. The food was ok but seemed over priced although the amount you got was good. The thing that disappointed the most was that we had to ask for menus, then ask to order our starters then again for our puddings. Still no one came for the pudding order so we got the bill instead and got something on the way home. For the price I don't think it was equal to the service we received

A lovely family lunch, thanks. The menu is good and well priced. The service was brilliant. I would recommend this and we'll definitely be returning.

Could not fault the service, lovely staff, very attentive. Restaurant itself and ambiance was really nice. Food was a little disappointing. The prawn and feta dish had a tomato base which was utterly tasteless. The roast; the crackling was inedible, and the Yorkshire Pudding wasn't good and the gravy was disappointing, it had a strong bitter after taste. If they can improve the food this would be a real winner. Front of house they've cracked it, just need to improve the cooking side of the business.

I have never seen so many folk sawing away at pork belly to get a knife through. Had one myself elsewhere and melted away under knife as expected while crisp on top. I guess the chef here needs experience. I ordered a burger as I am rarely disappointed by burgers in pubs and restaurants. My expectations were high and while the burger was better than shoe leather I am unsure that Mcdonald's might have been on a par. While service was friendly the staffs attention to their customers was not exemplary. Staff did have a good time chatting to one another and had they not been supporting the service station next to the table one might have forgotten what they looked like. The host was so impressed with the bill that he initially thought there had been a mistake and felt it should have been halved. Given the quality of food and service I am inclined to agree with him. As it was a special family occasion we paid up and left. I personally will not be hurrying back. There are many better places to eat on the Wirral.

A stylish family restaurant for the middle class family. A typical 3 course meal for 4 adults, with drinks is around £40 per person. We'll presented dining area and food in a relaxed atmosphere. There is outside dining as well. Polite waitresses served us, didn't hassle us to finish so the next course could be served and we're on hand to serve us with more drinks when required. We'll worth a visit, the food is delicious and amply portioned. Thank you to the staff.
