This is a decent little pub! Friendly and professional staff, good food (see below), a pleasant and clean place to be, and decent parking provided, too. Food: I've been eating here for years, mostly because friends of mine liked it, but I wasn't ever really all that impressed with it. But they've completely re-vamped the whole menu - it's tons better, with lots more to choose from, a whole bunch of vegetarian options, and even a few vegan ones (which is hugely appreciated!). The friend I went with ordered a classic from their old menu, which is thankfully still on this new one, and he said it was even better than it used to be. I applaud whoever's decision it was to improve the menu this way; I'm happy to go back for sure!

The food was OK the service was horrendous the manager was no were to be seen .arrived at 4.20 and still waiting for our puddings at 6.50 we left without having are puddings and they gave us 20% of the meal with free drinks .we weren't the only ones waiting for our desserts .The manager needs to put more staff on and train them properly. I certainly want be going back

Not for me. Food was OK, but bland and overly heated (under salamander, I suspect). Was the general culture of the place that disappointed. Random kids playing hide and seek under our table, staff ignoring it, waiter in need of some deodorant (obviously working hard but not what you want when eating). Had heard good things but very disappointed, won't be back.

Not great. Food v.poor and 40 min wait for service. And it was a quiet night in a mostly empty pub. Sadly won’t be travelling back here.

I actually wasnt going to leave a review because I felt sorry for the staff, but after reading recent reviews I feel compelled to write something because clearly something is wrong with the management of the place. On arrival we were told there were no seats in the restaurant (despite having booked) so we'd have to sit in the bar. Not an issue really. We were sat close to the bar which was noisy but fine. 3 menus (crumpled pieces of a4 paper) were given to us and we ordered drinks. Drinks came after a bit of a wait at which point we were told its cash only. I haven't carried cash for a couple of years now which would have been a problem, luckily my father in law sorted it out, which was doubly embarrassing as it was meant to be our treat as they came up to help us move into our new house in Oxton. Drinks came whilst we waited for food, which was a long time. We ordered more drinks and only 1 of them turned up. The others never arrived, well they did, but about 50 mins later. Food did arrive but without cutlery. There was no setting the table, a bunch of knifes and forks were just dumped on the middle of the table for us to sort out. I asked for napkins and was told they didnt have any. Wow! The poor lad managed to find some by taking them off the empty tables(?) in the restaurant area. The food....was ok! Absolutely nothing wrong with it but the dining experience was appalling. We didnt want any more drinks or to hang around for any longer so asked for the bill. My wife noticed we hadn't been charged for drinks so assumed we had been comped them to compensate for our terrible experience. But I wanted to double check they hadn't made a mistake as I didn't want the lad to get into trouble. Turns out they had made a mistake and our bill was apologetically amended (minus the 2 50 minute lemonades). Overall it was a disaster. It was our first night as Oxton residents and not one we'll be looking to replicate. Again, I want to point out that I didnt feel like any of this was on the staff. They were fully aware and apologetic about all of the issues. But reading previous reviews this is clearly not a one off. The food was decent, so there's something to build on, but from a management perspective something needs fixing here, for the benefit of the customers AND the poor staff.

Had lunch with friends on my birthday, staff were very attentive and efficient especially Jo who is a diamond and needs cloning! I had the rump steak which was delicious and my friends all enjoyed their meals as well.

Had a lovely meal. Service was quite poor. More staff needed. Ladies toilets are filthy. Needs a very good clean. Toilet seat also loose. Cleaners need to pay attention to small wooden ledge (close to the ground) and dirty toilet seat (in between seat and lid needs a good scrub). Wall under hand dryer filthy.

Went last nt Tuesday 5th december, group of 8 ladies. When we got in we were told we hadnt been booked as a Christmas menu -even though we had paid deposits -and nothing was prepared. Chef pulled out all the stops to make sure we did get our xmas meals. Food was superb, chef and bar staff are a credit to the management. Pleasant, helpful couldnt do enough for us.

The food is beautiful, we were a big table of 10 people so we booked and pre-ordered our food and the table service was spot on, we got our food so quick it was unbelievable, it was hot food and tasted delicious, in a beautiful area and always such lovely atmosphere, the music was an amazing choice as well and all of the staff are so polite and friendly. Highly recommend and will definitely be going back!!

Visited the Queens yesterday for a meal with my friend. The refurbishment is lovely. Bar staff great and friendly. Ordered food but was very disappointed. Sweet chili chicken skewers with wedges and side salad. Well it was more like a plate of wedges!! 2 x skewer sticks with like a slither of chicken on them...no chuncks. Side salad was a bit of lettice on the side, nothing else. At £12-95 I thought it was very poor value.

Absolutely love this place, come here very regular of a lunch time or evening as a support worker and can't express how helpful and welcoming they are especially Donna and Jo. They always go above and beyond. The place is very welcoming with tables always set nicely, very clean and always cater to our needs. Food is amazing and great value for your money too. Parking is over the road and free.

I'm sharing my total disappointment with this pub. I booked a meal for 14 people earlier last week for the 9th of December at 1pm. I was informed that they had disabled access at the side as 1 person is in a motorised wheelchair which is quite heavy. I stressed how important it was to have disabled access. I informed everyone involved as a couple were coming quite a distance. I Receive a call this afternoon to explain that they have no disabled access or disabled toilets. I've now been left trying to accommodate 14 people for a Christmas lunch. Why would you say you have this when it's clear you don't? I really don't understand this at all. Very disappointed

Busy which is great. Music was fab - but nowhere to dance and view of the band was restricted. Why book a band with strong dance tracks with no space? Rethink layout next time.

After being presented with very grubby menus, we waited ages for table service. The waiter, when he eventually arrived, was very pleasant and helpful. Our food arrived within minutes so obviously wasn't freshly prepared and made to order, but reheated in a microwave. Not impressed.

Went today with my family for my Dad's birthday. The food was stunning and the service was first class. The lady who looked after us (sorry should have got her name) was just amazing. Thank you.

Outdoor seating area was disgusting it looks like it hasn’t been cleaned in days, cigarettes stumps everywhere and cigarette packets just left on the floor. Staff given my wife a dirty cloth to clean the table herself, that was dripping in stale beer. Had to leave and go somewhere else for food with my family.

Straight forward lunch, delicious salmon salad, my friend had a tasty burger. Staff friendly and efficient. Quiet relaxing atmosphere. My first visit . Looking forward to my next.

Arrived for our booked table, we where shown to a dirty table which we asked twice for it to be cleaned. Order for food and drinks taken, we where then informed the chef was on his own so might be a while. Food eventually arrived, we had to ask for cutlery,my hunters chicken had definitely been hunted to the point of dry and chewy, no BBQ sauce wrapped in bacon that was all fat and cheese over cooked on top. Not nice at all. Myself and 2 friends had finished eating, but another was still eating, when waiter came to see if we had finished, I said we had but my friend hadn't, but he still proceeded to clear the table, very rude ! We we're not asked if we would like dessert or coffee .. Will not be returning again, such a shame as it used to be lovely before it changed hands... Also £16.95 for a bottle of wine you can get for £8 daylight robbery...

Staff pleasant enough. Food Rubbish. Friday evening with Grandkids. 4 x Fish and Chips..3 of which inedible due to fish soaked in Greese.. Tried to rescue situation with desert. When picking up menus mentioned fish was awful.. Sorry said the staff..no mention of any money off the bill. One desert arrived cold..was went back twice as still cold after first attempt.. Unfortunately we had already parted with £74 !! Don't come here for decent food

I regularly meet up with friend for tea, however , visited tonight and the service was awful, the drinks where slammed on the table, food took over a hour after ordering(although not very busy), my friend had to go with her 3rd option as first 2 options they didn’t have. Chips appeared to be warm ups not the usual standard. I asked for the windows to be opened due to the heat and the music to be turned down as needed to shout to have a conversation, neither happened. Complaint made the manager, she needs to attend charm school. Will not return and would not recommend p.

Great to be back in the newly decorated Queens Arms. Food was good - apart from my sister in law's prawn and salmon salad which turned up with smoked salmon, which she doesn't like and very tiny prawns. She didn't end up eating it. It was also expensive for what it was. Other 3 meals were fine. Staff all v friendly and nice.

Haven't been here since early last year. Has had a refurbishment and is looking very smart. Food very good... But bring back the fish pie...please 😀

On visiting recently was so impressed with the vegan options, it’s hard to eat in pubs usually but there was a good selection across starters, and mains, really makes a difference when there is a group of you. My Mum was impressed with the gluten free options too. All round winner for me, will definitely be going back! Pub was clean, and tables well aligned for social distancing, There was a good atmosphere when the football was on too.

They tried to squeeze on to a small table right in the middle of other diners, but helped us choose a more suitable table whe...
