Great family pub. Great tasting pub food, great friendly service always happy to help any needs. The Management team is impeccable no problem is to big any needs met to make you visit a special one no matter if its your 1st visit or 500th.

We went in for a quiet meal on Monday night, about 6.30pm. The rush had died down but wasn't empty. Got served with drinks really quickly, and our table was ready for us. We both ordered 9oz rib eye steak with a hunters topping, one well and one medium rare. Food only took about 20 minutes and was cooked just as we asked. Really enjoyed the meal, and the chocolate sundae afterwards was the best I've had, thanks to the lovely young lady that served us called Cait. Nice, relaxing, and enjoyable evening.

Large, busy pub. It was 5 pm, so the pub was busy with families eating meals. Bar staff are friendly and efficient. I had a pint of Green King IPA which was obviously not used much or the barrel was on the turn, so it tasted like vinegar. Tried to take it back, but it was so busy, so I gave up. We left and moved to another pub. Not many bitters on offer, but lots of lagers to choose from.

Dogs are welcome here, so that's an automatic 5 stars from me...hehe. Very very very clean. The food is awesome aswel I got the enchiladas and they came with nachos & it was delicious & not the cheap nachos like most places. They took my mums order back also and changed it for her without any issues. Lovely, clean and tasty place.

Lovely pub. Love the decor inside, really cosy vibe to it. Didn't try any food on this occasion but plenty of people were eating and the food looked great. TV at every angle so doesn't really matter where you sit. Toilets were nice and clean.

Called in for lunch with my husband and our dog. We had a chicken sharing platter for two really good would have fed three people comfortably very tasty. Plenty of seating and staff very friendly will definitely be returning.

This pub cheap and cheerful. Staff very pleasant especially Sue and Dario. Food scrummy, good menu. We go there most Thursdays for lunch. Always made welcome.

Came here for a pre match meal and pint. Rude staff. I asked if we would have time to eat and the woman said “I don’t know”. Considering the pub is next to the football ground, I would assume she’d understand the wait times for food and business etc. I went up to the counter to ask how much longer it would be, as had been half an hour, and was given a rude response back saying you can see how busy we are. After walking away, waited another 15 minutes, and then my dad went up to the counter and asked. The man dealt with him, and said we were told it was a 50 minute wait (we weren’t told this) and got a refund. I understand it’s match day, however it is a women’s international under 23s game. The pub wasn’t crowded either.

We have had food at the Mersey Clipper for years, even going for Christmas Dinner but I can assure you we will never return. Service - young staff very rude, rest of staff not much better. Food - Sunday Roast not available on a Sunday, 14 of us booked in and only told when we arrived that they had decided not to do a Roast that morning? Apparently Liverpool ladies were playing at home so food eating families are not in the equation. Goodbye the Mersey Clipper it won't be long before you are closed and the site will be a housing project. Regards Ray

Brilliant visit to this pub. We arrived for the quiz night after seeing some promotions on Facebook. So glad my wife and I chose to spend our rare date night here. When entering the building we were met with a bright clean and busy pub with many families with young children having meals and socialising. We were greeted by the manageress Sadie, and promptly served our first drink and who then gave us time to check over the menu. Food was delicious and enjoyed. My wife and I really had a great time and will definitely come back.

Cant fault the staff at the Clipper very freindly and welcoming. We come regularly as always have lovely experience by the freindly staff and the food is great value for money when feeding the family and always very enjoyable.

My Partner & i went in Monday evening , Meal was beautiful & my steak cooked perfectly ..we were served by Helen & Cait who were very pleasant & friendly ,2 lovely girls .. meal arrived quickly & our desserts were gorgeous .. had a lovely evening as always .. ☺️

Another lovely meal had at The Mersey Clipper. All of the staff are assets to this company and the food was delicious as usual. We regularly attend open mic night with Helen and bingo night with Kayleigh and are hoping to visit on a weekend soon when we can source childcare.

Just waited an hour and a half for 2 roast dinners.both came out cold got up and walked out no real apology at all.used to love the place go quite often .never again

I visited here for a meal Thursay around 4 pm . Myself and my cousin both ordered the 8oz rump steak. Steak was out of this world and cooked to perfection. The staff was friendly and helpful. The only downside is the pub itself was very cold. I was dithering, even in a thick coat

Lovely family meal this evening! Great choice of meals on the menu. The service was great from beginning to end, the food was quick to arrive, hot and delicious! Although I've been coming to the Clipper for a number of years, I've never (until now) tried the food. We have always commented on how amazing it looks and smells, but I've always been in with the footy lads after the Tranmere games, so just a few pints. Always a great atmosphere in here. I tried the fish and chips for less than a tenner. Fish was massive and honestly the best fish I've ever had! The chips where unreal too! I'm going again next week to try more of the fantastic menu, and I've just booked Christmas day in here with my wife. A really top notch place! Well done guys!

Where to start , we went out for a family meal to celebrate our daughter getting her 1st job, we arrived and the waiting on staff were great and even cleared a booth for us. Qued up to order food then a pub local/regular walked in and the person behind the bar proceeded to serve him , to which my wife said "excuse me we are before him", person behind the bar said "no this till is to serve drinks your getting food so use that till !!!! Strange policy ? So when we got served my wife asked the person behind the bar "is that the policy in here ? I'm sure it's not , I will follow that up " His response "well who you going to follow it up with I'm the manager I suggest if you don't like you know where the door is " WOW never has my wife been spoken to in such an obnoxious way before in her life absolutely disgusted with the manager "Jack" so unless you want to be spoken to inappropriately I would advise you do not enter this establishment. As anybody else would, we walked straight out.

I’ve visited the Mersey clipper several times now & the staff are always so welcoming.. myself and my husband were served by a young girl called leila, we decided on 2 mains for 9.99 & was offered desserts but we were so full off the meal sizes they are so good for price! we will be back soon, merry Christmas to team see you in the new year

Very poor food, my friends steak was basically just a load of christle, which he almost choked on. I asked for a rice based dish and got a wrap with a few chicken nuggets in. Would never eat there again.

Bit confused about the parking machine and notices, had to go inside to get explanation, very nearly drove away. Strong smell of cleaning products not very pleasant. Anyway we stayed to eat. Staff very nice and helpful. Food tasty and hot which was welcomed and the menu was vast.

Ordered the Mac and Cheese and waited an hour and a half for it to look like this. Garlic Bread was also burnt.

Surprisingly big inside has pool table occupy the kids while you wait for your meal or just a pint and a game food's nice as are bar staff has conservatory plenty of seating in and out .loads of rear parking just go in pump your reg number in and get free24hr parking .

Spoilt by there being a large fly trapped in a take away burger puts you right off, prices are good food not so much bogof on burgers and two for 10.49 (think could be a bit less or a bit more) but there must be flys in the kitchen. Sad.

Took 25mins to receive drinks and could tell staff didn't want to be there.. Such a shame because the food was amazing but not friendly at all

Been the clipper tonight for family meal celebrating my daughter’s 7th bday, there was 20 off us including family over from Germany and Switzerland, everyone was happy with food and service, food was a bit delayed but not by much and the manager came over and said everyone could have a drink on the house for the delay. The staff couldn’t do enough for us. Definitely recommend 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
