2 of us had the Sunday roast dinner, the food was nice, but the portions are too small, I left there still hungry, which is not great. The potatoes looked like tiny Aunt Bessies, but even a cheaper version, and in fact were the smallest you would find in a bag.i would expect proper roasts made from scratch. There was also only 2 small slices of beef only. They use a massive Yorkshire to fill the plate which is a 20p item. Once they attend to this, then it would be worth the money, but poor value at the moment I'm afraid.

Nice food and drinks. I used the app and didn't have to wait long for drinks or food. Was exceptionally busy and very very hot. I think because it has a low ceiling it makes it worse but nice atmosphere and staff were absolutely lovely. Every one we encountered.

Really close to my parents home, we all enjoyed our meal. I'm Vegan so really enjoyed having a choice of what to choose. Great food, great service, my Dad is hard of hearing and sometimes confused, lots of patience was given to him. Thank you.

I really love this pub friendly staff lovely food good selection good selection of lager beer ciders and spirits and wine a great social pub friendly regulars i can't wait to visit again soon. Great place to be with friends and family meals. Can't wait to visit again soon. They have quiz every Monday and Wednesday from 9pm every week and they have outside eating areas so it's really nice to eat out or in.

We had a lovely evening with family. Great service and very friendly staff. Our only criticism was that 3 of us had the crispy Chipotle chicken to start and 1 person had the same meal at the same price as a main course. The difference was amazing the main course had loads more sauce and looked so much better our thoughts are maybe different chefs do different courses. Overall it was great.

Had a much recommended Sunday roast. Unfortunately we must have picked a bad day. The roast sirloin of beef was so tough and stringy the knife wouldn't cut through it! Brought out some more from a different joint but even that wasn't much better!

No Veg curry even tho it was only 12.30 The Scampi was meagre for the price. We were told you are dog friendly over the phone but on arrival this was not the case No disabled ramp to/from the garden. On the plus side the burger was excellent

Nice food . Shame we had to wait nearly 1&1/2 hours for main course . Agree it was busy when we arrived but starter was delivered promptly. Had to wait a long time for main course as previously mentioned . Can't fault food but was told ours was next out and lost count of how many tables where delivered food before ours . Disappointing!. Welll ✔️to chef for keeping the food warm

We as a family shared 7 starters instead of buying mains, such in fact was great. Like a tapas sharing menu! The staff were great, the venue is amazing and the service was impeccable. One of the best beer gardens as well.

Been many times always enjoy food atmosphere and staff. But definitely think they have changed the recipe to the hunters chicken. It was char grilled this time. Didn't have the same taste and thought it too be too burnt. Needs to go back to old recipe

Called in for Sunday roast today with my wife and sister-in-law. We all had a Sunday roast which was perfect. We were asked if we would like a little more gravy which we gladly accepted (it's little touches like this that make a difference). I don't usually like roast potatoes but these were truly delicious. I had the duo of turkey and beef, both of which were sooo tender. Yorkshire pudding was light, crispy and very tasty. The atmosphere very relaxing and cozy, we were sat near the welcoming open fire. Can't wait for our return visit which we certainly will. And of course all the staff so friendly and accommodating, nothing was too much trouble.

This place has gone down greatly in my estimation, I've visited a few times, each time it gets gradually worse. I ordered a mixed grill, sausages were barely cooked and the eggs were also very much under done; none of the staff bother to ask how the meal is otherwise I would have let them know. Have to ask for things like napkins, long waits for table to be cleared when meal is finished. Always given a bad table, plates for four people just about fit on but leaves very little room for drinks, even though better tables appear to be available. It's very disappointing as this used to be a particular favourite place for me to go. EDIT - I see the managment has given the same poor response that they gave me by email. Yes, I asked for more napkins, I had to, as they gave us two napkins and we were a party of four.

The food was lovely. Hot to the table and at a very good price. The one small quibble I had was that I ordered the chicken wings and ribs and, with it being predominantly a finger food, I had to try to clean my fingers with the serviette that came along with the cutlery. Unfortunately, the serviette didn’t last the meal and a trip to the washroom was required to clean my hands. Would it be possible for future customers to have one of those little sealed wipes whenever they order food which is best eaten by hand. I’m sure it would be much appreciated and would go some way towards making the establishment that little bit classier. It’s only a small thing, but it makes a lot of difference when customers have to navigate the many stairs to the toilets. I’m sure it wouldn’t cost that much and would be very welcome.

Quiet cosy pub in Greasby with nice atmosphere and pleasant staff with plenty of parking space. Tried the 3 course set lunch which was great value for under £12.

This is a very aesthetically pleasing venue both outside and in. A beautiful sandstone building with a homely decor inside. The service is good and the staff are friendly. My expectation was not met however with the food. The soup tasted similar to that from a tin, which should have provided a clue for the main. We had a Sunday roast, which is presented beautifully however, the roast potatoes left a lot to be desired. They appeared to be a certain brand of frozen potatoes, when questioned, the waiter informed us that the potatoes are indeed brought in frozen and are deep fried twice before roasting. Now I'm not a professional food critic, but I do enjoy my food and I know the difference between frying and roasting. There was no crunch to the potatoes as they had not been in the oven for any longer than trying to dry off the excess oil from the fryer. Overall, we left underwhelmed due to the expectations set by the appearance and location of this pub, that said if you are looking for somewhere that's relatively cheap and looks amazing and you dnt mind mediocre food, then this is definitely a place to visit.

We booked a family visit for the breakfast with Santa, the coffee and breakfast was lovely and Santa was amazing, he was so good with the kids and the activity pack at the end was great, it kept the children amused whilst we all had a little drink. All the staff are lovely and happy to help with anything. We will definitely book again next year, that will be our fourth year in a row.

Booked table for 6pm for festive menu. The attendant told us there was no red cabbage they'd run out so it was replaced with savoy which is fine. However, the meal was served minus the sprouts and the pigs in blankets... I did call over a member of staff to inform, she said chef had just finished a batch of pig in blankets so will bring me some but the way she said you really want the sprouts I felt like she was pushing for me to say no which I did as I felt embarressed. Food was fine nothing special. My friend ordered the apple and Berry pie with custard. It came out as a crumble. It was a bowl of sloppy sauce with hard fruit and the tiniest layer of crumb. To be honest not impressed and I wouldn't visit again. You don't know till you try and we tried but yous failed to deliver. On a positive note the staff were very friendly no complaints there

1 of party of 4 ordered a starter, which came out fast and hot. However the main courses were slow to come out, we waited about 45 mins for these. A table close by who ordered after us were served before us. When our mains arrived they were bearly warm enough. We were told that they were being plated when we pointed out serving orders, and the waitress was adamant the food was plate and straight to the table. However are eating experience made us believe that the food had been on the plates hanging around in the kitchen for some time.

Four of us went for Sunday lunch when we couldn’t get in to our first choice and we all thoroughly enjoyed the meals. Service was very good and the staff were nice. We were surprised that it wasn’t very busy given how nice the food was. Will definitely go again.

We visited today for breakfast with santa 🎅 and had a brilliant time. One of Santa's elves came and chatted with us all when we arrived and magically santa knew all about what our little ones had been up to. Great food, really reasonably priced and a lovely calm/organised atmosphere. The staff were great and really lovely with the kids.

Meal was Great. The music band ten feet away - was awful, loud and distracting. No conversation possible. Left the pub half deaf. Did not expect to get charged over £4.30 each for a little bit of pepper sauce bowl - bit of a shock and Extortionately high price for tiny bit of sauce each. Meal was good though.

I have visited the Greave many many times and have always been impressed. The Sunday roast is a must and I always book in advance. Today I visited and didn’t book as it was lunchtime so didn’t think it would be busy. We where seated in the bar area as we hadn’t booked which is perfectly fine. Usually we are served by a young lady and she is spot on, can’t criticise her service at all, today however I found her obnoxious and extremely rude. It seems like if she is not waiting on your table in the dining room she doesn’t care at all about customer service, and can be as rude to you, as she likes, as she isn’t working for tips at the end. The cutlery brought over was a little dirty so I took some out of a tray on another table which was unoccupied, she came over and rudely said that the cutlery was for the dining room guests and shouldn’t be taken out of the trays. Am sorry but if I wasn’t given dirty cutlery in the first place then I wouldn’t have needed to take it from the dining area. She then kept brushing past out table everytime she went back and forth like we didn’t matter. Can I just say how impressed I was with the lady behind the bar, I think she used to be the manager. What a credit to the whole company 10/10 a real down to earth nice lady! I love the Greave always have, let’s hope on our return I am served by someone else who isn’t just after a nice tip at the end

We hadn't booked, but there were some free tables. Staff friendly. Can order food at bar or via phone app at table. Food came quickly. Lovely portions. Staff attentive. Reasonable prices and tasty food, in cosy surroundings. Will visit again. Recommended.

Been here a few times before always a nice visit, clean and well maintained. Staff friendly and polite, we come for food, all come out in a good time, no issues with any of the meal's. I had beef and black sheep ale pie with mash and greens and a pint of Camden pale ale which was both very good. Would definitely come again.

I like this place the staff are lovely, attentive and efficient. The restaurant is well laid out and covid precautions are in place. The food is generally very good and the Greave Dunning is far better than others I know in the same group however the ribs were poor and not enjoyed by my wife but the other three meals were up to the usual standard. We will be back.

We went for dinner every Sunday night before Covid. Then on our return to eating out again we tried other local pubs. Not came up to the experience we had at the Greave. The staff are friendly, the food and drinks are good and the overall atmosphere is inviting. For us the only downfall is when they have live music, it's LOUD. We now go back regularly but don't pick live music nights.

We went for a big family meal and had a family member with an allergy. The staff were so attentive to making sure everything was done safely and with great attention to detail. We weren't made to feel like a burden, and the food was delicious.

After a long absence from the Greave due to feeling that the food standard had dropped slightly and the decision to stop waitress service, we went back and was glad to have a lovely meal, everything was cooked perfectly. Would still like to see waitress service return though. Overall glad we we returned 😁

Pleasant staff.need to be more dog friendly and keep up with their competitors.most places are allowing dogs inside their premises. Open log fire would also be a good idea.forgot to mention. That the Gravy needs a bit more attention..the meal itself was nice but my hubby said . Change the name of pub to the "Greavy's Done u Inn. "😃

Very nice pub acceptable lunch, could have been more chips but everything hot and nicely presented. Friendly staff and a dish was changed for my friend without question as the eggs were over cooked. Quick service and we were a large party.

Very busy this evening, lots of deals , available including 40% of mains today.. our party of 4 had mixed feelings about the food , posh fish and chips greasy and chips soggy. My steak was well done I asked for medium.. 3 of us unhappy with chips.. Staff seamed rushed off their feet . Almost 40min between our starter and our main.. Not at its best today, maybe another try next month..
