Waited 40 minutes for 2 coffees after 3 visits to the bar. After 60 minutes queried the absence of the meals. Told the kitchen couldn't say when they would arrive. Went to see the so called manger who went to the kitchen and returned to say the meals had just been aent to the table. They had not! Returned again to be told someone else had accepted them! I said I'll go and check. NO YOU WON'T he said. I did anyway. No one had just received 4 meals, in fact hardly anyone was eating. Returned again to be told we were barred and he blocked my way back to the table to collect my belongings and told to wait outside for the rest of our party. I am 80 and have never been barred before! People who arrived 30 minutes after us were served.Left after 80 minutes.

Visited for Sunday lunch as part of a large party and it was excellent value for money. The menu has lots of choice, so we will be back to try more. Our waitress was lovely. Despite being busy she couldn't do enough for us.

Went in for a pint on my way home - very welcoming pub and the staff are a credit to the pub, especially Georgina. She was really friendly and we ended up ordering food and will definitely be back!

Took Mum out today for lunch as it was her Birthday. We chose The Bridge Inn as we have been here many times & always enjoyed it. My own meal was a real let-down however. I chose the steak pie which i thought would be similar to others I've had in local restaurants. The pie itself was huge & covered half the plate, but the contents were dreadful. There were roughly 5 small pieces of the cheapest, fattiest meat inside with gristle attached. YUK!! It made me feel sick. The waitress service was very efficient & we were served quickly. We were asked how our meals were & i did tell the young girl waiting on our table that the pie was horrible. She was very apologetic, but it wasn't her fault. I said i didn't want any fuss, but she did say she would report it to the chef. I noticed a couple to the right of our table also ordered the pie & both left most of it on their plates. I will go back & eat there in the future, but i will definitely not order the same thing. My Eton Mess dessert was the best part of my meal & i enjoyed that.

Decent pub fare at really great prices, but missing quite a few ingredients and so the menu was pretty limited. The soft tacos were nice but there must have been a sale on coriander at the supplier as there was way too much.

Popped in for quick burger tonight on 2 for 1. Food was tasty the atmosphere pleasant and the staff cheerful. This place used to be a bit ropey but it has really improved. It is cleaner pleasant and more efficient. Beer tasty too. I will return

Nicely situated but struggles to cope with "busy periods" such as the dining area being approximately half full. We waited 45 mins for food as we were told (all fine and understandable) however 1 hour and a half pass and several people were served before us despite arriving up to 30 mins after. We were told our order never was submitted to the kitchen when we followed up. Unfortunately, this wasn't the only issue. Another chap was served a meal when his wife was not served food to be told it should have gone to someone else half way through his meal. Sadly very disorganised and we left without a meal.

After being at the shooting range in deeside this morning which we'd booked for Father's Day on our way home we called into the Bridge Inn in Port Sunlight for some Lunch there was 5 of us we waited 1hr before our food came out people were getting served before us with there food absolute disgrace my son in law asked at the bar twice when it eventually came out the food was awful £46 we spent mine was £10.49 chicken mix disgrace with dressed salad it said all I got was Lettuce wow this is what you call a dressed salad absolute disgrace I had to ask for onions and tomatoes instead of tomatoes I got this ramekin of mixed veg I also got chips there must of been 15 on my plate Rip off rest of the meals awful barmaid apoligised said she'd send a round of drinks over which we never got my husband went to the bar and got charged for more drinks this was our first time coming to the Bridge Inn I can honestly say we would never step foot in there ever again half the time there was no one behind the bar and when there was it was only 1 barmaid who's fob stopped working absolute joke we even tipped the girl who brought the meals out and the barstaff unbelievable

Stopped for a drink at lunchtime. Although we didn't eat here, the food looked good. Prices average. Nice public house.

Let's start on the positives, very nice food. Main courses well presented and tasty. Now what wasn't so good... 30 minutes to discover our order hadn't been passed to the chef (ordered at the table, not via the app) It'll be twenty more minutes if we wanted them to go ahead Ten minutes later "we don't have what you ordered for three of the four meals, but we can throw a bit of extra veg on as a replacement for the smaller steaks". Large deserts arrived as small deserts as "we've run out of this serving dishes" - the place was approx 20% capacity and that's being generous. Lastly the bill, "it'll be £xx.xx, but you can't see an itemised bill until after you've paid". Nothing terribly wrong, nothing that a little bit more thought beforehand could have completely negated the poor experience. They'd already advised that one of our round of drinks (a bottle of wine and a coke) was in the house, it wasn't about getting a discount, they just had the power not to have been in the back foot from the start, but instead just let things slip more and more.

We were advised food would be about 45 mins, even though it wasn’t busy inside. That’s fine, we are happy to wait as we liked the food on the last visits. We should never have waited. Food was horrible. Mac & cheese looked like baby sick and smelt as bad, it was inedible and we were still made to pay for it even though we never ate it and told them so! chicken off the mixed grill was a freezer burnt breast that had seen better days. The meat usually comes on a bed of fried onions however today it was boiled onions with most of the water still soaking it. We asked if there was a change in the kitchen & we were told it was a new chef today from another of their places. The best thing about the trip was the girl taking our order, she was lovely and the cold glass of coke. We will not be back.

Georgina is the best barmaid I have encountered! She did anything and everything to provide a perfect service! She’s always smiling and brings a happy welcoming atmosphere! Because of Georgina alone, I will be returning!

The manager is the rudest man I've ever met. When my wife asked for a Gin and Tonic, he rudely said "You best have slimline". I also saw him refuse to help an elderly woman with her bags and laughed at her going up the stairs. He slams food down on tables and walks round with a face of thunder, telling loud inappropriate stories. Would never go again.

My family and friends had lovely filling meals for a decent price. We had 4 delicious plates of food and 4 drinks for under 30.00. We will definitely go again.

Booked for a party of four, arriving at 5.30, which we did arriving in good time. We were shown to a table and given menus. Some 15 minutes later, we managed to order a drink, which took a further 5 minutes to arrive. Food was ordered, and the wait began. After chasing up with the waitress twice, the food arrived at just after 6.30. The food was just about acceptable, very small portions and poor presentation. One dish was described as pulled chicken, which looked like something you would feed to a cat. All of the food was fried or grilled, so why did it take so long to arrive. The atmosphere within the room was non existent, the server, whilst pleasant enough, was ineffective when asked where the food was or in offering further drinks. This was my first visit to the bridge Inn and will most certainly be my last. I am no fan of fast food outlets, but in this instance, do yourself a favour and go. Far quicker, cheaper, and better quality.

Decent food. Good value. Bacon rather under cooked. Our waitress Georgia was brilliant, couldn't do enough for us.

Great service! Shelly was supposed to have clocked off half an hr ago, but she got our drinks and took our food order and made sure we were all OK before she finished. Can't ask for better service than that.

Went for lunch on a Saturday. We had the dog. Some confusion when there is stuff on the net that say they are allowed, but when there it was not the case. Ended up sitting outside and thankfully the early Autumn weather did not drown us out.

Didnt stay at the hotel part. Slow service.. since one of the bars has closed, in the main part, we had to wait over 10 minutes for someone to acknowledge that we were waiting to be seated for our booked meal. Didn't appreciate being sat right next to the kitchen, was ok at first, untill you could hear all the chatting, shouting etc, everytime a waitress went in and out. Not very professional. Suggest you move the table away from the kitchen entrance. Food was good though!

Drove passed this pub, looked like it had so much history. Free parking, ideal location. It was quiet, mind you, it was a Monday night. ordered the two meals for £12.99 bargain. Lasagne, gammon and chips, and the good old fish and chips. Amazing traditional decor, so much to admire. The service was impeccable too. Only downside, no straws available, can't be having that. Almost every other customer was asking the same thing. For a warm summers evening, its also lovely to enjoy a drink outside too. Lots of tv channels, news and sport. Step free accessible disabled toilet. Would definitely visit again.

Excellent evening at the bridge with our amazing waitress Holly who served us wonderfully and was running around working hard all night! Food was also really enjoyable and atmosphere was perfect with Christmas decorations! Definitely recommend

Not enough staff to serve people especially at the bar, had long wait for food but not told this when ordering. Food was good, served on hot plates. When Hulme hall has a function on, maybe worth considering getting more staff to work, with the weather turning nice, it's a great opportunity to get people over the threshold of the pub.

Nice pub.tasty food. Reasonable price. Staff on both sides seemed could have been a bit more attentive. Bar side he was talking to a friend throughout serving us. Lady on restaurant side wasn't very welcoming and never once asked if everything ok with our meal's or did we want anything else.... shame as the food was lovely

Dropped in at the last minute, for a table for 8 people, staff couldn't have been more accommodating.. The bar staff and manager were really attentive, food ardeted and promptly delivered by more friendly staff. Quality of food and deserts was excellent value for money... Will definitely be going back soon.

My apologies for the review error. 👀 It was meant as 5 star and not one, otherwise I would have given feedback! The bridge Inn is a part of port sunlight history and the food has always been to the highest standard and quality. The staff are attentive and always keep you informed. Nothing is too much trouble. Thank you. 🥰

Lovely tasty food and such a great atmosphere, felt really welcome, everyone was cheerful and so obliging, much improved in the last couple of years, and warm inside, outside area looks so pretty and is well lit, nice to see different things scheduled for the coming weeks, we will be back for sure, extra thanks to the manager Ollie, definitely a credit to his employer

A great place to eat and to stay. Large, comfortable bedrooms, peaceful night's sleep. Perfect location for sightseeing. Great choice of food from breakfast to dinner, as well as snacks, with great and fast service. Many thanks to whole team, and particularly to the hard-working and ever-cheerful JP, for making our stay so enjoyable.

I had a lovely evening here - dinner with the family. But many of the menu items were unavailable which is such a shame. I had to have my 4th choice of meal. One of the waiters was absolutely brilliant, though. He had some banter and was really friendly and helpful. Disabled toilet was a disappointment - the door would not close, never mind lock! I ordered the XL Vegan burger but it didn't look very XL to me. Very dry - some vegan mayo or burger relish would have made a big difference. Lovely, old-fashioned pub which could be fantastic, but a few hitches only merited 3 stars on this visit. I WILL, however, be back.

Came here for lunch last week with the family. Would highly recommend, service was quick and food was delicious! The staff really do go the extra mile and they all seem very knowledgeable about the history of the village! Claire was kind enough to show us a lovely picture of the pub from when the bridge was still in place!

Nice welcoming local pub. We popped into eat while visiting the area and ended up staying a lot longer than we'd planned, listening to some interesting and talented local musicians. Food reasonably priced, (it's Green King). Meals were good.

Nice atmosphere in a picturesque setting. I've eaten here twice in the last few weeks The first time was with a group of friends, when the food was ok and very reasonable. The second at a catered 'event'. Sadly this was dreadful. Quiche obviously defrosted but not heated so wet and soggy, sandwiches with bread so dry they'd been left uncovered for hours. Staff run off their feet. I hope this was just a bad day!

I visited last week for some food and drinks with friends. The atmosphere was friendly and service was excellent. Our server Georgina talked us through the new menu in detail and was attentive throughout. She checked back a few times and always made sure we had enough drinks. Thanks for a lovely meal!

The Young lady (Shannon I think) with the blonde hair and the pony tail was exceptional. I have worked in hospitality for 25 years and I can honestly say she very impressive. She was leading service. Acknowledged at the door while she was clearing tables with a smile. Managed our expectations and explained how the service worked. I saw her collecting an order from a table of 4, drinks, food and specific meal requirements with out writing it down. This would usually worry me... She then answered another customer inquiry and answered the phone before entering it into the till. Unreal! I've never seen this before. Attentive, friendly, intelligent! Well done! Genuinely impressive! 2x Gammon steaks cooked really well. Love coming back to the Bridge, keep it up!

Lovely warm atmosphere. Staff always friendly and attentive. More attention to dropped kerbs in the car park for wheelchair users. Other than that, the menu and food always delicious and served nice and hot.

Very nice clean place, but the water pressure needs attention, as you would be better having a bath than a shower. The food is lovely, but check your order is correct. I had to send mine back twice because the "chef " got it wrong. Holly on the bar was fast efficient and very pleasant.

Fabulous table service and staff very attentive and polite. Food was lovely and the deals are brilliant. Love how this beautiful pub has not been modernised. My favourite place to go

This is the worst service I have ever seen! The waiters are rude and don't want to work. The waiter who brought us our order after more than 30 min didn't want to look at us, and never came back when we asked him for ketchup and cutlery (and yes to eat pasta!). He just disappeared! Amazing... Then when we went to get coffee the waitress just ignored us. Won't come back.
