We were a party of 5 (plus a baby) celebrating a birthday. Lady who looked after us was exceptional. Very attentive and just lovely. Food was delicious. One of our party wasn't happy with his meal and the lady was so helpful in changing it for him. She brought out a birthday cake we'd supplied and she came out singing Happy Birthday. So lovely. Lovely atmosphere and decor. Nice variety of meals on the menu. Really great pub and staff.

Love this place, doesn't matter if it's a summer beer garden day a meal out or just a quick pint after our dog walks they are always welcoming to us and the dogs. Lovely staff and always a pleasure to visit.

Lovely traditional pub. Friendly and helpful staff. The lasagne was delicious with 'proper ' chips. Very dog friendly she was even given a sausage. Prices were very reasonable good value for money.

Really friendly and efficient service from Sam tonight. Really excellent food with portions being good but also tasty. The ravioli starter was excellent as was the salt and pepper squid. Mains were excellent, home made salmon fish cake were excellent with the mushroom sauce. Fish and chips was also tasty not greasy and well sized. Pricing was also decent. First time, definitely recommend and will come again.

We contacted to arrange staying in the car park overnight in the campervan if we ate in the restaurant. Arrived Friday late afternoon and were met by friendly staff, we ordered food and very happy with portions, présentation and taste, we returned to our van took the dog for a walk and the views were stunning of the Wirral Peninsula and it was nice and quiet from 2230-2300hrs onwards so we slept like logs, stayed Saturday and brought friends along in their van, again we enjoyed the food, needed a little reminding on about the drinks but hey it was one of their busier nights and it all came good with a little patience and keeping contact with the staff, we stayed close to the end of the night and thanked everyone for their service and off we toddled... and wobbled to bed, again another quiet night and in the morning locals arriving in the car park to go on various walking activities were bright, friendly and courteous to all and why not! Spring is just around the corner, we will use the Cottage Loaf again for meals and stop overs because its a perfect way to enjoy the Wirral and for us to drop our Cockapoo off at the groomers in Upton so we'll be back thank you everyone 😊

This place is really good! There's a few Greenking restaurants in the area but this one just seems to cook the food that bit nicer than the rest. Really nice and staff all very nice too.

Absolutely amazing service, handled many various dietary requirements without any hiccups and took complicated long orders. Food itself was beautiful and served promptly. Atmosphere of the pub itself was lovely, homey and friendly. Would definitely recommend and will be back!! Thanks guys!!!

One of the best dog friendly pubs you could find. Come here often after walks, lovely staff and food. The dogs love to come and see Holly, she is always lovely and very accommodating with my two reactive dogs, we're always made to feel welcome. Would recommend to anyone!

We have been coming to this pub for over 30 year for family occasions birthdays, anniversary’s and general meals as it has always been a lovely place and the food has always been excellent. However upon trying to book for our latest family meal I was informed that they no longer accept booking for groups of more than 10 people (I was trying to book for 11). This has never been a problem in the past. How can a pub that relies on be declining booking that is likely to bring in a significant amount of money. Well you’ve lost my custom not only for larger groups but also for the time we may just pop in for a drink or quick meal. All I can say if you are looking for a pub that caters for larger family gatherings, look elsewhere.

Ordered food and waited for over an hour for 2 meals meanwhile watching a big table that arrived after us get their food first. Food arrived, the steak didn't even cover half the bread and the sauce on it or something tasted burnt. Somebodies child who worked there was being able to run around and do whatever she pleased, annoying many customers just trying to have a quiet drink. Left to go out and there were plates piled up with left over food on the side table by the door. Overall a really poor experience and won't be returning

Nice pub. Classic food with lovely Sunday lunch but best booking. Good selection of beers, live entertainment occasionally. Dogs are made very welcome, which is great.

We went for a meal on 13.4.2023. Staff were very helpful and accommodating. The food was good value for money and there was no issues with any of our meals. If we ever stay in the area again in the future we would plan on returning. Thanks.

Due to transport issues we were 30 mins late for our booking. This was on father's day so was busy. The staff were amazing, nothing is to much trouble. The food was fantastic and staff attentive. The environment was spotless and atmosphere relaxing. I cannot praise this place enough and can't wait to go back. Thank you to the team for a wonderful experience

Fantastic. A lovely pub with great staff and a fantastic manager in Stevie. The food was delicious, too. We stayed over in our camper van in their large car park and had a very peaceful night. I am sure we will back very soon.

Lovely Sunday trio Of meats Dinner. We didn’t book a table but we were greeted by a lovely lady who managed to fit us in, a nice quiet table in a cosy corner :). We ordered a trio of meats each and one for my 4 year old son as they have a child’s roast too!! It was all lovely and fresh. The service was spot on, the staff can’t do enough for you here. Claire who took our order was very hospitable and even gave my son crayons 🖍 made an effort to make him feel just as welcome as us. Best roast by far in a Greene king pub on the Wirral. Will be back!! Thank you Cottage Loaf :)

We had a delicious Sunday roast - one trio of meat and one vegetarian - plus desserts. Portions were a good size and food was piping hot. We had great service and will definitely return. Friendly helpful staff. Looking forward to next time but definitely need to book in advance.

What a delight it was to visit this excellent hostelry! Visiting for the first time last month, with my partner and my parents for lunch, we were all really impressed by the friendly, vibrant atmosphere, pleasant waiting staff and the cleanliness of the restaurant area. Once seated by a window with a pleasant aspect over the front greenery, the four of us had pre-lunch drinks while we waited for our meal to arrive. And when it did, we discovered that not only is this pub a great meeting place for us, being midway between our home and my parents, it's also got an excellent menu and the food was plentiful, cooked to perfection with lots of choice. When you're a vegetarian, you sort of get used to being excluded from being able to eat in a lot of places - not at the Cottage Loaf! The menu was varied and there was plenty for me to eat, too! We thoroughly enjoyed our first visit, in fact, we enjoyed it so much, we've booked a Christmas meal there and we're really looking forward to going back for seconds! Well done to the staff and management, go there without delay!

Top notch Sunday lunch with family! We had the beef sirloin with extras as well as several drinks including a unique smoky Jack and coke. The plates were cleaned! Staff were friendly and attentive. We will be back! A+

Just been for an evening meal while in the area. Myself and my husband had the beef and ale pie. It looked delicious with its thick shortcrust pastry but sadly it was very much a gravy pie as there was very little meat in either! On a positive note, the meal was piping hot and the vegetables were lovely and the staff were very efficient and friendly but the pie was a let down unfortunately.

Warm welcome. Sticky table. Rotten window frames. Food was heated up but tasty. Pleasant staff and dog friendly.

Had family meal here yesterday evening. We sat inside and everywhere was spotlessly clean and bright. Both service and food were fabulous. I had the salmon, which was perfectly cooked and tasty. Every single member of staff were so friendly, helpful and efficient - made us feel really welcome. So glad we chose the Cottage Loaf. Thank you.
