A beautiful space inside like a tardis, a proper pub but a touch of class as well, great for a quiet pint, watching footy, meeting friends or lunch. Haven't eaten here yet but its popular at lunchtime and has a nice selection of ales and they try to find and serve local guests. I look forward to sitting on the leather sofas in front of the coal fires in winter while snoozing with a good tome.

This was the first time being here it is of the beaten track but none the less a pub with plenty of character, aesthetically pleasing, a beer garden with plenty of seating and well stocked spirits, some of which you may not see in your bog standard establishment. Queen Anne Chesterfield leather armchairs, and seating, booths.......quotes doted around reasonably priced there is nothing not to be liked about this pub, highly recommend

Nice place for a drink. If you were sat down and got up for a pint you had to wade through people standing talking blocking the way to the bar. It was a sat night. Nice pub.

Fast service on a Saturday evening and a nice pub in general. Also a really great smoking area. They also sell a variety of cigars behind the bar which is a nice touch. The pub itself it’s actually quite large in my opinion, lots of different seating arrangements. The staff was really friendly and helpful so big shout to them.

Beautiful public house that serves real ale and great food. Found this place a few years ago and loved the fact that the barman played piano to keep us entertained. I would definitely recommend this place for a pint and food.

Lovely pub . Good choice beers. Lovely staff and landlord. No music playing so if you want just a pub for a nice drink with lots of history. The Cornmarket is highly recommended

Great traditional Pub near Castle St. Loads of space and seating inside, lovely atmosphere. The Beer selection is good and the staff are great, they are great fun as well as providing excellent service (we stopped off there as part of my Birthday drinks and they gave me a free drink and chocolates to help celebrate 🤣👍). If you want a cool and classy old Boozer, with a mix of all types of customers (young and old), this is a 'must visit' 👍

Nice Liverpool city pub. Lots of history and wood panelling. Limited range of cask ales but both well kept nonetheless. Small but very reasonably priced lunch menu. Toasties were lovely with a generous side of salad and chips. Lady behind the bar very friendly and worked her socks off.

Great food and service, recommend the chicken strips. Can't comment on the pie or lasagne as the people I was with wouldn't let me try it 😞 looked lovely though. When I go back it will be with people who share! 😄

Great pub, a bit of a tardis...looks are very deceiving... much larger inside than expected... Good selection of gins, (unlike a lot of pubs who only stock pink or flavoured) and reasonably priced...would recommend

Went here with four friends on 30th January afternoon. Oldy wordly pub, old chesterfield furniture. If you like this sort of thing it's great, good atmosphere and bar staff were great. Git a nice send off when we left. Drinks really good, give it a try if your in town

Haven't eaten so can't comment on the food but always take the opportunity to stop-off here for a few drinks. It is a little hidden gem of a pub, the atmosphere is just relaxed and comfy.

If you've had enough of pub themed pubs in Town, go to The Cornmarket. If you want wood panels allegedly recovered from The Titanic (definitely nautical), old friends having the same good natured arguments they've had for years, people using it as a starting point for a big night out, this place is for you.

Nice atmosphere - music not booming. Cosy seating and a decent Malbec. Hard working, friendly staff who were very welcoming on a rainy / windy afternoon. We will be back and thank you for being so welcoming xx

Very relaxed and like home!!.. A tad warm ..but then there were a group of 8 people or so nearby..!! Enjoyed the night as town was really busy Most bars rammed to capacity in these trying times

If you like really fancy panelled walls with a finish of tobacco yellow celling then this is the place for you. Which is a shame cause the food is nice, drinks are average (I mean pouring a pint is not difficult), staff polite and friendly.

Decided to go here for a pint on our way to a concert in town. We were very confused by the directions on Google maps, as the place really is tucked away. However it was well worth the effort. Really lovely atmosphere with wood panels and all the trappings of a good old fashioned English boozer. Not a huge choice of beers but what they have is well served.

Very friendly pub.The staff went out of there way to ensure we enjoyed watching the football on Saturday evening. The surroundings are very Cosy with bags of character.Thank you for letting us eat our supermarket sandwiches whilst enjoying a decent pint.

A really nice pub which you might not even notice as you're passing since the entrance is a way from the main street. Inside it is spacious with a lot of seating and well decorated.

One if the best pubs to start your bar crawl if getting off at James Street station. The pub has a great traditional style that most other places don't offer. Cracking pints too.

Great pub tucked away with a small but comfortable beer garden. Pleasant atmosphere and a few real ales on tap.
