Wow! We went for Valentines Day and I was blown away. The food was exquisite, the cocktails were delightful and Lucy our server was probably the best, she couldn't do enough for us. It really made our night memorable for our first one together. Also, I can't forget they actually have a piano man! It was super romantic, will definitely be coming back

Called in for a quick drink whilst waiting for the shops to open at 11 on a Sunday. The drink was lovely actually, staff were nice and polite. There was loads of room. Had ot wait a short while as there were a few drinks ahead of ours but that wasn't a problem. Very nice place.

Two of us went for dinner and ordered a steak and lobster combo for two. The lobster served was so freshly juicy and tender. The steak (medium) was also perfectly grilled. Our waiter is very friendly and efficient. We absolutely had a great time there!

I have ordered the traditional English breakfast as was really wondering how it will be cooked here. Canonically, it had black pudding, beans, mushroom, tomato, sausages, ham, egg, butter and toast. The contents were cooked well and tasted fabulously. I had poached egg even though you can have either this one, scrambled or fried. Despite being tasty, I felt like it was a bit not much enough for a full English breakfast (I wished I had more mushrooms and tomatos), likewise, it missed hash browns which, in my opinion, would make it trully fulfilled. Anyway, an overall impression was satisfying as I had been kindly served by a waiter and didn't find any bit of food repelling. Price is relatively low considering pretty interior and rich atmosphere. For the breakfast, I paid £10.45 (not including drink) Reasonable cooking waiting time

Walked in on a weekday morning for a breakfast 3 adults 2 small children. Asked for a table was advised no space. Looked around 3 tables being used so it was not busy with all of the outside tables being empty, went a few doors down had breakfast at another place and checked their booking system which had avaliability so assuming now they just didnt want my foster children in there as their asd was very clear to the person at the front who advised us no space.

The interior is absolutely beautiful, much better than other Browns I have been to in Scotland. Came in for a quick tea while waiting on my train to Glasgow after a very long flight. The staff were so kind, they could probably see I am dying for some sleep. Would love to come back if I am ever in Liverpool!

Unfortunately we didn’t think to take a photo. We are not in the habit of complaining especially post pandemic! However when my husband’s main of fish pie was delivered he had no option but to send it back. It was not as described…there was no mash or breadcrumb topping or much fish to be seen. Absolutely disgraceful for the the price of £15.95. It looked like a starter portion. However my monk fish main was delicious so he reordered the same. It spoilt the meal though as I had finished my meal when his main replacement arrived. The waitress was lovely and very apologetic but it was not her fault. We were not charged for the fish pie … that was generous… NOT!!!! They also dropped the service charge but that was wrong we obviously tipped the waitress as it was nothing to do with her. However who ever is in charge of ordering and menus needs to sort to this out . It was obvious that this was not a freshly cooked meal but a product that is bought in and there is no quality control.VERY disappointing as we have eaten here many times and have enjoyed all meals including the fish pie. If you want repeat custom please take note.

Didn't require a booking when we arrived but it became quite busy shortly after we arrived. Gary was our waiter and what a delight, he was engaging, humorous but not inappropriately so, chatty and helpful. Keen to make sure we enjoyed our food and drink, knew the dishes he was serving and generally made sure our night went well. Excellent customer service( they should keep hold of him). The food was lovely, not too long a wait for ours to be served. Tasty, good portion sizes( not too much and definately not too little). They clearly have chefs that also take pride in their work. The desserts were to die for. You could taste all the flavours and really nicely presented. Would most definately recommend based on all round good service and great food, at fair prices. Well done browns (+Gary👍)

I dined here with my aunt last week. There were several items missing from my meal (both starter and main), which I was not informed of when it was brought it to me. We let the waitress know, and we were offered 50% off the whole bill. The actual discount we received was much less than this, so we (politely) asked the waitress to double check if a mistake had been made. The manager (Max) who came over was incredibly rude, made flippant comments and treated us like scum, frankly. He made an immediate assumption that we were being difficult, and decided to throw a tantrum. We were shocked, given that we had been polite and courteous all evening. If there was an issue, and we were not offered the correct discount, this would have been fine, had it been explained to us in a calm and professional manner. We weren't looking for a discount, we just asked for what had been offered to us. I have never had such an awful experience in a restaurant. We have been offered a £50 tab to dine with them again but decided to turn it down, due to the miserable experience we had. Also the roast potatoes were burnt, the crumble was cold and the salmon too salty. Honestly way below the usual high quality we expect from Brown's. Service from the staff was excellent.

We ate at your restaurant 5 years ago when we last visited and thought it would be the perfect place to get together for a family meal. It was absolutely wonderful. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, and the food was wonderful.

Inside was a warm, relaxing vibe and our server Lee was so welcoming and he offered suggestions on the menu, which we took. The chicken schnitzel was very tasty. Overall great experience

This was a family celebration for 16 guests. 12 Adults and 4 children. We were very well looked after. The booking was for 16:00 but we did not leave the premises until gone 22:00. Obviously, with such a large party, the meals could have been arriving at different times, but in fact they all arrived as requested and we had a great time.

To be honest nothing was great, we had to wait 1 hour for our table, we were told to wait at the bar and had only 1 update in all that time. The food was lukewarm and at best mediocre, not much fish in fish pie and bones and fat in shepherds pie. The food did not come out at the same time, consequently some had finished just as others were starting. The only good thing was the waitress who did apologise for our wait but we had no apology from front of house staff. As we complained the waitress did get the fish pies taken off the bill.

Service was good. Main course was a let down, we had Shepards pie, when it arrived, looked OK, two mouthfuls and the waitress asked how it was, ok we said, but as we started to eat more, lots of Rosemary twiggs in it, which made it unpleasant to eat, taking these twiggs out of your mouth, some bits 2 inches! It was more like a soup with two tiny bits of meat, we could have done with a spoon to eat it. It tasted ok and finished it, but for the money we expect some meat in it, some substance and a bit more mash potato on top, I did not use the gravey as it did not need it! Also the meal I wanted was the Cod dish which was not available (disappointing) also another dish I would have choosen from the vegetarian choice, Curry also not available. Puddings were ok but certainly over priced for the potion. Who's on a diet after walking 10 miles as we did that day (yesterday)? So we left feeling disappointed really, we have eaten in Browns before (not Liverpool) and have enjoyed our meals before with no complaints. After sitting down at the table where we picked up our menus the table was not clean either, mainly water marks and dried on. Up-date: 2 weeks later, after I was given an email address to reply to Browns, which I did reply to. But not heard a thing from the. How disappointing! :(

A lovely evening in Brown's Liverpool made all the better by the professional, courteous and friendly manner of Emily who looked after us this evening. It was my birthday and she made it all the more special by making my dessert very unique. Thank you. As always food and ambience was exceptional.

quick drink visit, whilst deciding where to go for dinner. I think we got there, after the rush, as tables were still with dirty plates/glasses, staff seemed to be busy. The staff were very friendly

Food was amazing and delicious. Great atmosphere but the food did take a long time to be served and they forgot a piece of the order which turned up half way through eating our main. But it was delicious so I don't mind to much. I would definitely recommend it as I'm sure mine was an isolated incident.

Brilliant experience at Brown's! My partner has allergies, and they were brilliant as soon as we walked in. The food and service were outstanding, a special mention to Lee, our waiter who made the experience even better. Well done, browns. we will be returning and recommending you.

I was thoroughly impressed with Emily’s customer service and all the staff were incredibly well dressed and respectful. I had not booked prior but they managed to squeeze me in at a table near the front and allowed me to leave a bag behind the bar while I picked up some female hygiene products and returned- My mum arrived from work and we were treated to the most amazing dishes! I ordered the steak which was cooked perfectly (medium rare/ á point) and my mum chose the fish pie :). we took our time and I was really enjoying rare time spent with my mum after a really difficult time in my life so thank you so much to the whole team for the amazing customer service!

First time visiting and it certainly won’t be the last. This is such a beautiful restaurant, the decor is lovely and unique. We were looked after by the lovely Gary who was so friendly and attentive, he couldn’t do enough for us. I ordered the chicken schnitzel which was delicious, the fried egg was cooked to perfection. I can’t wait to come back!

Food was excellent, we appreciated that my father was able to order from the children's menu (smaller portion). Service was excellent, waitresses were very friendly and helpful. Atmosphere was busy and quite loud but you can't help being popular!

Lovely venue, great atmosphere and fantastic afternoon tea. Attentive service in a lovely cosy setting. Only grumble was the Victoria Sponge which was very dry and definitely past its best. Other than that, delicious!

Food was excellent. However seated at the table by bottom of stairs upon which staff seem to gather and chat so we had lovely views of legs mostly. Asked to be moved to a table/s that were free but told no. Those table remained free till we left. Plus putting us in what was basically a crèche surrounded by children was not exactly our perfect New Year’s Eve setting for me and my husband. I did book too so wasn’t a walk in.!

Food was exceptional. Staff was friendly but our server could have been a little more attentive. We tried to get more drinks and he was no where to be found for quite some time. We had to get another server to get him. Other than that everything was lovely.

This is such a lovely restaurant, serving British classics, when you arrive you are taken to your table by a very smart waiter and made to feel quite special Inside this Brasserie, the interior feels very up market, lots of deep warm mahogany and mood lighting, the bar takes centre stage The menu has lots to offer and is quite varied although they had run out of a couple of items I had the chicken and avocado salad which was excellent and my other half had the chicken schnitzel Its ideally located in Liverpool one, it serves food all day 😋

The food was overall solid given the price. A little disappointed they ran out of pancakes only an hour into service, which is odd for a brunch spot on Sunday. The spinach omelette and egg/salmon on sourdough were good subs.

If you’re looking for a place to eat browns is the place to go :) our server, the tall, bruenette with the beautiful face gave us exceptional service, highly recommend 10/10. Early Saturday evening and we've ran out of Chateau Briand..... Surf and turf option started well but the lobster was dry and chewy, but the steak was excellent.

I’m visiting from London and found Browns from Google. Reception staff were friendly and showed me to my table. Where I then waited 20 minutes to place an order- lots of staff, no tables and no service. I ordered sour dough toast with avo and 4 extra poached eggs. The eggs smelt and tasted of vinegar which ruined the meal. After eating same situation - I waited another 10 minutes to get someone’s attention while the staff huddle around in groups talking to each other. I’ve counted 8 staff infront of me and only one other table in view with people. The food and service today was awful.

Had a nice dinner here, food was pretty good. Staff were really nice. Service was perhaps a little slow but understandable considering how busy it seemed to be, our waitress was literally running in and out of the kitchen. Nice ambience about the place.

Vegetarian breakfast - was ok. Burnt edge on eggs, tomato seen better days, toast needed some colour for me, everything else was good. Coffe - fantastic Service - awesome (considering the place was extremely busy our the service was exceptional, staff were always attentive and focused on everhone present). 5 stars if food was improved.

Sunday lunch was fab. A little expensive (£18) but worth it for special occasion. The cocktails are good and the young waiter was lovely. Prefer if service charge not automatically added to the bill, but can see why it is. Be aware when asked if you want water for the table, I said still water and should have asked for tap water. £4.90 a bottle was a bit much. Overall we had a lovely time.

Really impressed!! We had a great meal last night at Brown's (Liverpool). We had phoned our order through because we were due at a show later and the staff were really organised and attentive to our need to be quite prompt. The guys that served us were so lovely; friendly, helpful and charming. Added to that, the food was excellent; all four of us enjoyed each of our three courses - it's one of the best meals I have had in a while. Well done Brown's - we'll be back!

We had an amazing Mother’s Day dinner, food was hot and delicious, everything came really quick as well! Gary went above and beyond with the service, he made us all laugh and we felt really welcomed and well looked after. He is a real asset to the company and makes the visit even more enjoyable. We will be definitely coming back again x

My partner had the Calamari with salad. She really enjoyed it. I had a burger which was nice, just wanted it to be a bit more filling. The service by Luke was excellent though

We visit Brown's regularly and, whether it's Liverpool or Manchester, the food is consistently good. The staff are always friendly and attentive. Good choices on the menu both for mains and desserts. The cocktails are an added bonus - excellent! The wine we wanted was unavailable on two occasions this month but we had a nice alternative. Recommended!

  • 5/5 Theresa C. 1 year ago on Google
The whole experience was very good. Our waitress, Emily, was very attentive without being "in your face." Her suggestions and comments when we were making our choices were very helpful. The variety of the menu and the presentation of the food when it arrived was also very good. The only downside was that we felt the main course arrived more quickly that we would expect. It would have been nicer had we been asked if we were ready for the main course. Having said that, in no way did we feel that we were being rushed to complete our meal, due to the high demand for service. Our table was within view of the door and we did comment about the people that had to be turned away due to reservations being full at that time. Its a pity that Emily finished her shift midway through our meal, as we would have liked to personally thank her for our service.

Very good. Service was excellent and deserves a special mention. Decor pretty glam, good menu with lots of choices, loos stylish, very clean. We were looking for a special venue for our daughter's graduation. Browns did not disappoint.
