    I attended for a birthday meal. When it came to dessert they couldn't guarantee that my first choice didn't contain orange (which I am allergic to). When it came to my 2nd choice strawberry Eton mess, they said the strawberries may have been on the same chopping board as oranges. They substituted the strawberries for cherries and it was delicious. I think they should offer a cherry version all the time.

    First visit to this pub as scoping out a local for when we move. The pub was clean and nicely laid out. Food was of a good standard for a chain pub and staff were very friendly. The only let down was the selection of draft ales of which there were only 2

    Very good food .they had run out of fish chips so we had gammon pineapple and chips .The gammon was a proper steak .Service was good a bit slow but the food was worth the wait. Well kept building with colourful hanging baskets. Handy for the Merseyside rail station .

    Ate here couple weeks ago, this may be a ‘cheap & cheerful’ type place but the meal I received was awful! After a long wait my ‘sizzling’!!! Steak came on a bed of raw onions floating in water, couldn’t cut the steak (4 of us tried!) I sent it back but had gone past it then so didn’t want another, to be fair a refund was sorted. Like others say this place has soo much potential but constantly hit & miss if kitchen is open and always turning business away. The place looks run down now .

    Once again, another fantastic meal and amazing atmosphere here! Dave, the manager, is so welcoming and his team are great, nothing is too much trouble. Food is outstanding!!

    Great pints, and the staff were really friendly. Nice little area to sit outside, would happily come again for another drink or two. The toilets were clean, and the atmosphere was friendly.

    Food was good, ordered the mega mixed grill... used to come with a lamb chop but times are hard and portion size has been cut. Price has gone up also, but it was well cooked and very tasty. Short staffed so service was slow but worth the wait. Staff are very friendly and courteous. Drinks are good and priced reasonably.

    We had a lovely Friday treat after work tonight visiting the Merebrook. I had the Chilli Dawg which was delicious and the red chilli or pepper on top was really hot! Chris had the Hunters Chicken Nachos for the 2nd time as she really likes them. For pudding we shared the Dessert Shop Waffle which was delicious. Yum!

    Arrived here for a birthday meal, was greeted by a young girl. Who seated us to a 6 person table however there was 7 of us. She then got her manager who was very abrupt. We went to order our meals, however later found out they had a reduced menu with 12 items on it. Which they had failed to let us know beforehand. A young girl in particular looked like she was the only waitress on the floor, you could tell she was over run by the amount of customers. As it affected her customer service skills. I think if they could improve on their customer service skills. It would make it a lot better and allowed there to be more items on the menu.

    Enjoyed the visit, nice and comfortable pub- restaurant. The food was really good. Few staffing issues on visit, but I can accept they were very busy. One small point .. if your going to have a sign in place at the door "Please wait to be seated", may I suggest you actually find a member of the team to deal with customers at the entrance... It was like..."Please wait here"... What for Christmas? Your next birthday? Your state pension to start??? (I noticed I was not alone on this issue.)

    The food was delicious piping hot, me and my friend both said what a beautiful meal. The staff were friendly and nothing was to much trouble especially Natalie who made us a fabulous desert We will definitely be back. Thank you.

    Family friendly pub. Great menu with lots of choice. I had the gammon and it was delish. Staff were friendly and happy to help and chat, great atmosphere what a lovely place we will be back! thank you 😊

    Nice area, nice building but awful service, sign saying to wait but despite queue waiting staff continued to walk past and ignore people waiting , sat ourselves down , had to order at bar anyway, someone came up with cutlery in a tin and slammed it down saying...lasagne guys? No manners , faces on staff all said they'd rather have not been there , when lasagne came was burnt all round the edges , over all totally couldn't care less attitude. Guess due to usual management in absentia ! Not impressed .

    Sizzling meals venue, nice friendly service & good quality food - though festive meal portions not large. Real Ales selection but mainly dark / strong ales. A lighter IPA / Blonde beer missing. Advised by staff to avoid ordering by App, and use the bar. Everything very well organised, clean & tidy. Happy to try again.

    We were greeted on arrival and shown to our table. We had asked for a quiet table because my elderly dad was with us. Our meals arrived quickly and well presented. The young lady who brought them was very pleasant and efficient. We enjoyed our meal. Thank you

    It's my local. Food is reasonably priced and of good quality. Decision not to have staff in bck bar is irritating as I have a dog which I can't take in to front bar. Other than that, nice friendly crowd, decent TV and darts. Could do more events.... not sure about dj and live music license

    Tonight we went to the Merebrook Pub for our Christmas get together. We were Greeted by Natalie who was welcoming and we felt that she was such a lovely caring person we couldn’t have asked for a more lovely host. Would definitely recommend this pub

    Food was excellent definitely come again. Only minor was we ordered drinks but never arrived we had to chase after them but overall very good. Asked for quiet area due to Autism and got it. Well done keep up the good work.

    I visited The Merebrook tonight. There were 9 of us. We were greeted very friendly by Jayne the Manager on duty. Served at the bar by Kian, Levi, Ethan and Andy. Really great friendly staff. Our food was served by Ella and Jodie. Both so lovely. Food was delicious and cooked by chefs Jamie and Joe. Absolutely cannot fault a thing. Brilliant night had by us all and will definitely visit again. Thank you all xx

    The staff are all very welcoming and friendly. The service and food was great, hot and tasty, considering it went rather busy around 7pm. Special mention to the lovely Karen who goes above and beyond, she never stops!

    Port Sunlight Sea Dogs hold a folk night every Wednesday. Some are guest nights and the others are singers nights. Those who take to the floor vary in tallent and genre. Artists must have their own microphone cover to participate due to Covid rules. Always well attended, great atmosphere, great mix of music. Very friendly club and a raffle in the interval. Well worth a visit.

    Didn't eat as just popped in for a drink. Great service and nice wine. Lovely atmosphere. Everyone was happy and friendly. Not one of those places you walk in and everyone turns and goes silent.

    When food is served it is nice but not served often with kitchen is off signs a regular feature. Advertised as a family pub but certain staff didn't seem very kid helpful or friendly. So much potential in the right hands... maybe it should advertise itself as a pub exclusively for adult drinkers?

    We tried to book a table today wed 18th may for dinner just the two of us and we were told not to bother as one chef had called in sick and they had 100 bookings already. This is disgusting customer service.

    Made enquiries to book the function room. First time we were advised a new manager was starting and to come back. 2nd time the staff were very unhelpful the manager wasn't on site to speak to. I then received a phone call from a member of staff saying the room was not available due to staff training. This booking was for a Saturday evening so I find it very strange to have training at this time. Aside from that I found staff very un helpful and will not be using any of the pub in the future. Very poor customer service.

    Booked the back room or for a funeral wake. Food was lovely and plenty of teas and coffees on offer. Although milk ran out at one point (in the whole place!)

    Cozy enough place for drinks, a local pub, and family friendly. Fair variety of gin available. Had a beer, but didnt try the food. Quite a few people looked like they were enjoying their meal. Don't forget to validate your parking.

    Fantastic food and drink, really polite staff and a very warm welcome. If you want a nice comfortable family pub, then this is definitely the one you should check out. Definitely deserves more than 5 stars.

    Bang average. Not a great selection of beers, the ordering app doesn’t always reflect what they have which must be frustrating for the bar staff. Food is fine, no problems there, standard pub grub.

    Superb food, cheap and cheerful, ideal for when you don't feel like cooking. We took our grandson here this evening as a little treat and were really impressed. Regulations are efficiently adhered to, making us feel safe, welcome and comfortable. The sizzler menu has something for everyone. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Deb certainly ensured our needs were well met without having to use the dreaded app. Thank you Deb. I hope business picks up again for this superb local pub. We will certainly be back!
