Visited bella Italia on 080921. We hadn't been for around fifteen years as our last experience in Leeds was a bit below par, however our experience this time in Chester was excellent. The staff were helpful and friendly and the food arrived quickly and we both thoroughly enjoyed our meals. We will be visiting Chester again shortly and we will happily try bella Italia again

Quality on the toppings but does not deliver on the base ! As my son said like eating sandpaper ! This franchise lives on its name but I would say a bit out dated & bit to expensive for what there serving ! Next time I will try something else off the menu and May be I will get excited by it ! I would say the lay outs are out dated as well ! Hope it survives as I do like the franchise!

We were shown to a table that was not set for service. The place had a shabby appearance, and the table was sticky! Everything we ordered seemed to take ages to come, despite the place being quiet, after 2pm. The food was very disappointing, and did not represent value for money. It seemed as though it had been under a heat lamp to keep it warm! The staff were friendly and accommodating, but we’re fighting against the overall ambience of the place. I have some pleasant memories of meals in Bella Italian in the past!

We had a lovely Italian here for my birthday. The service was very prompt and the staff were very friendly. The food was amazing, full of flavours and just the right portion size. The only downside is that they automatically put a service charge on the bill then you are told you can decline if you want. We had already got cash out for the tip so the waiter just went and amended the bill. I really do not like this 'American ' style of billing and overheard two people complaining whilst we were there. I can see this putting certain customers off.

Ordered set menu -mozzarella Garlic dough ball (super salty, not recommend at all, feel like eating salt) -Spicy sausage pasta (this is nice, but quite oily ) -tiramisu ( not recommend, the cake is ver soggy and wet)

First visit and really impressed. Service was great, from all the team, but especially Holly. Food was hot and served quickly. Chefs were doing an amazing job making lots of dine-in and takeouts in a tiny space.

Gluten free, ordered to go. Ordered gluten and dairy free meals and upon realising 2of the ingredients were also allergens for my family. Made complete meals for both family members. Delicious and reasonably priced will visit again when we're next in Chester.

Absolutely lovely rissoto and pizza. Got quite busy at around 7pm on Sunday but staff coped well. Would recommend booking a table. Good value for money and *optional* service charge which they helpfully made me aware of. Cash tips accepted instead. Big thanks to our waitress Kiera who was lovely, accommodating to allergies and helpful finding us a table.

Loved bolognese pizza, an absolute winner. The semifreddo was very hard, and tasted OK. Would stick to the savoury dishes. Great service. Good location to eat and watch the world go by.

I went while on a business trip and it was an incredible service, very helpful and lovely food perfect for Instagram. I definitely would recommend and be coming back next time

Amazing staff here, i am gluten free and the manager’s knowledge of everything was amazing, he made me feel safe and comfortable that my food would definitely be uncontaminated. The atmosphere was relaxing and the food was amazing too, definitely recommend coming here if you have any dietary requirements!! Thank you

Once seated there was a 45 minute wait before being served. The waitress repeatedly said she’d just be a minute as she walked past. Eventually another member of staff brought food out to another customer and we ordered the through them (and she was very nice). The food was good and arrived shortly after ordering (within 25 mins), which makes the question around why it took so long to get spoken to even more unfathomable.

Very good service. Food arrived promptly and was very good. Reasonably priced. Very quiet but was on a wet, chilly Sunday evening.

Great vegan range. Vegan pizza and vegan cookie dough and ice cream was very nice. Would definitely recommend. Nice cozy place right in the middle of Chester plus 30% student discount Sunday - Thursday was a bonus. Also wonderful service from Holly. 5/5 for Holly’s vibes. If we eat here again then I hope Holly is our waiter😎😎 and if you’re the manager of Bella Italia Chester and you’re reading this, tell Holly big thumbs up from us. Only reason for four stars is because some food seemed overpriced for what it was. £11.49 for pizza is good, but £4.29 for the world’s tiniest pot of average fries was steep.

We went here for lunch today. It was terrible service. We asked the server about a couple of items on the menu and she had no idea. She dropped our forks twice. She was very rude and unprofessional. They added an automatic tip and didn't tell us about it. As we were disappointed with the service, we didn't check the bill before we left otherwise we would have requested it be taken off. Would not recommend.

Great food excellent service and reasonably priced. Spotlessly clean restaurant and a great atmosphere. Very busy evening so waited a little longer for drinks but waitress was amazing and attended to all of our needs. Will definitely be coming here again.

Booked in as part of a short overnight Chester break. On arrival we were greeted warm, welcoming atmosphere and shown to our table. The Malbec we ordered was excellent, the Meatball & Prawn starters beautiful, the pasta mains fantastic and the service faultless. We'll definitely be returning.

Average experience! I personally felt the menu was extremely limited ( if you wanted a pizza, there was only a choice of about 8). Whilst the service was relatively quick (and staff friendly), the food was nothing special... and this place is not cheap! What really annoys me was the "optional" service charge added to your bill. Whilst you can obviously ask for it to be removed, I would rather choose what amount to leave. Whilst clearly displayed, I find it underhand in terms of an approach.

We visited last night, we really enjoyed it. The children’s menu was great value and my son loved it. We chose the two course menu for £12.99 very good value and lovely fresh food. Very friendly staff. Would definitely recommend.

The service has been good from the waitress, the manager a bit cold with the client. The delicious food.

Awful food, to a point it was inedible. Pasta fritti had more salt than actual pasta, Margherita pizza had huge clumps of herbs that made the pizza dry and choking to eat (imagine eating a spoon full dry herbs) the calzone had more parmesan poured over it looked like it was caught in a blizzard. When this was brought to the attention of the staff the food was checked by what I presume was a manager, who gave us a scowl and removed a child’s drink from our bill. Very poor all around.

Me and my boyfriend visited Bella Italia - Chester on Tuesday 7th September. We didn't have a booking, but they were able to seat us despite it being quite late. Food and service was amazing, our main server Sadie was so friendly and helped recommend cocktails! We last visited over a year and a half ago on our first date, so it was nice to visit again 💙

Thanks to Hannah we had a lovely evening with excellent food delivered very quickly. The merlot wine was also very good. We were outside at first but soon Hannah reserved a table inside for us as it was a bit cool outside. Thanks Hannah

Sat outside to order a couple of drinks, then informed we had to eat and drink we couldn't just buy drinks so refused our custom. Gladly took my custom elsewhere plenty of free tables didn't see the issue, glad to put my money to another business that wants customers.

Amazing experience, went with my partner for my birthday. The lady who served us (sorry I can't remember her name!) was brilliant when I ordered a tutti fruity but it was very weak, she kept adding things until it was perfect. All food was lovely and manager was very friendly. Thank you! Would definitely eat here again and recommend.

Good food but zero customer service no one asked us how was our food or woud we like anything else! the place looked dirty and some table was no clear in whole our stay around us! ned good cleaning top to bottom and few more staff

I visited with my grandchildren I had the Christmas menu which has the choice of a great variety would highly recommend 👌 it was unbelievably tasty!! My grandson and granddaughter had the garlic balls starter one main chicken caesar the other 🍕 ice cream dessert 🍨 and chocolate brownie .The atmosphere was amazing and being freezing outside the heat as we walked in was 😊 ...A big thank you to our waitress she was very attentive!! Definitely be visiting again to try something else on the Christmas 🎄 menu!!!

Really good. Food always of excellent standard. The staff are helpful and friendly without being 'in your face' all the time. Owing to a health issue I have a dietary requirement, and they are only too willing to accommodate. Always go there because I know it will be up to scratch. Thanks Bella!

Really excellent Italian restaurant. We were well looked after, even when we had made a mistake in ordering meal with meat we couldn't eat. It was replaced without fuss or embarrassment. Service great. Food was hot and tasty. My pasta was some of the best I have tasted in the UK. Thank you. I would suggest that menu states clearly pork/ beef/ chicken etc.

Unfortunatly we sat 3 tables from the door, constantly being open and shut by delivery people with very large bags making it very cold. We find this unacceptable for a restaurant it was more like a market cafe. We requested to move to another table, one staff member reluctant to fill the request, until I said if not we will pay for the drinks and leave. Another member of staff obliged. The food was good. Not worth the interruption of the delivery people and bags.

Loved it - a pleasant surprise. I was expecting it to be mediocre and it was literally the place we fell into when we ran out of steam but it was great. Excellent food, sympathetic surroundings and friendly staff.

Took my sons out for a meal here. The server was lovely but not as attentive as you’d expect. The chairs were dirty. Not once were we asked if the food was okay. And it wasn’t. It was very poor. Little of it especially compared to previous meals. The pasta sauce tasted like it was out of a tin. The wine was warm and no ice in the cooler. Nothing for the kids either when in the past they at least had colouring things. When I passed on my feedback the server told the manager who I saw literally just shrug his shoulders. He should be sacked as he clearly doesn’t give a toss about the customer experience or seem to know what he’s doing. Don’t waste your money here it’s poorly run, the food is slop and very expensive for what was a terrible meal. Never going back.
