Great Location with Sea Front view however please keep in mind that it is a 2 star hotel so don't expect a lot of things. Room size and bedding were good however air ventilation in hot summer days could be a little tough because they don't have air conditioning system. They provide a fan so in general, a good place to stay if you are on budget and like to experience beach stay

Staff very friendly and helpful. The rooms especially the bathroom was poor. The shower was no good cold water most of the time and poor flow, the floor got very wet because the shower curtain was to short. Limited sockets to plug your phone in, none by the bed. Outside just a few feet away was a extraction vent from a food premises underneath the travel lodge, so noise and some smells. Sound of trucks in the early hours delivering to morrisons which was next door.

Newly refurbished and very pleasant. Lovely views and just a stone's throw from Liverpool. Book early for the best deals. Well worth a visit, plenty to do, places to see and nice walks in the sunshine. Can't fault the room. We're on the top floor and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Reception staff couldn't do enough to help.

Terrible! Worst shower of any Travelodge I've stayed in - not hot water in the morning, just ice cold, and when I tried in the evening it was flipping between scalding and ice cold again. The floor was unhoovered, the sheets didn't cover the mattress properly and I could hear every noise in the hallway all night. Had to change hotels just so I can at least have a reliable shower.

Stained mattress and protector only noticed when I left and stripped bed to help cleaners out. Tv had no signal but despite asking no one came to fix it. Bathroon wasn't very clean either and the waste bin was filthy like it had dried vomit in it

Had a lovely few days there, lovely clean room that had had recently been refurbished, redecorated and a brand new wall heater that worked a treat. Great views too. Many thanks to Diane on the front desk who was really helpful and friendly. I look forward to staying again.

If you are staying at the weekend please note there is a very noisy nightclub opposite the hotel. The location is good but the rooms are a bit tired and some very suspicious stains on the carpet ! The staff were very helpful and we tried to change rooms but the hotel was full. Please check when booking and ask for a room away from the club and bars.

The room we were given was just adequate. The washroom wasn't exactly clean and the liquid soap dispenser didn't work. The shower space was barely enough for even a person of small build like myself. The plus was that this place was dog friendly and location was perfect. Staff were very friendly and apart from the issues pointed out above, we didn't have any other problems during our two night stay here.

The room was like an oven. We walked in and walked out as we had a child with us, and it was very, very hot in the room and inhabitable. Staff were helpful as they could, but we had to find another hotel as they couldn't offer any alternative room. I'm still waiting for a refund. I wouldn't advise to book a room at this hotel while the weather is warm.

Very conveniently located within shops, restaurants and near the beach and very helpful staff. Room was comfortable, if a little cramped, but that was our choice. With a great sea view it was quiet too, just not as thoroughly clean as we'd have expected. Definitely visit again, and a great introduction to New Brighton

I have booked a family room for three nights. When we arrived, the room was clean and fresh. The view was beautiful, except for the bird poop all over the windows, which was disgusting. On the second day, I left a card on the handle, but nobody cleaned or tidied up the room. I had to throw out the rubbish myself. And on the third day, when we left, it was awful. We would have stayed longer, but the room was so untidy, so we left on the third day. My son left his charger in the room, and we also left my little girl's soft toy, Poppy. I tried calling the hotel, but nobody answered the phone. They charge £0.45 per minute for calls, which was frustrating. I also sent them an email asking if they found anything, but I received no response at all. Overall, it could be a nice hotel, but it needs some improvement.

We have just spent one night at The Travelodge at New Brighton and were very happy with all we found. The room was clean, quiet and comfortable and the reception staff, especially Dianne who welcomed us on arrival, were extremely pleasant and friendly. Dianne wished us a pleasant evening as we were leaving for a family wedding reception nearby and took the trouble to ask, on our return, if we had enjoyed it.,,,,,,,.a very "personal" touch in a large hotel that must see hundreds of guests, and very much appreciated.

Great location a minutes walk from restaurants and right beside the beach and promenade. However room itself was disappointing - too small to be classed as a "family" room and the heat was unbearable with AC available.

Quick check in,great car parking, really great view from the room 220 of the River, especially nice at night when it was all lit up. Room was small but adequate, not much storage space, but really clean, comfy bed all the usual tea and coffee etc, water pressure on the shower and sink was a bit hit n miss but all in all very good value for Money and would stay again

Arrived to an uncleaned room and was offered to change into a family room. However, I’ve paid for a standard room plus but was not offered the features paid for. The alternative family room does not have any hand wash or body wash. Both dispensers were broken and was offered by the receptionist some body wash in a paper cup instead. Would not return to this hotel which is a shame as location was great.

Visited this hotel for a 1 night stay Sept 2023. It was a very hot day, the only part of the hotel that was air conditioned was the entrance lobby. Rooms were unbearably hot and the fans provide by the hotel were rubbish. Went next door to Morrisons to buy our own fan, which made things just about bearable to sleep. The room we stayed in was very dated, the door handles were loose and the whole place was in need of tarting up. Shame because the location of the hotel, ideal for a short one night stay for catching a ferry from Liverpool the next day. But wouldnt recommend until its been updated, especially with air conditioning.

The location is ideal, it can't be better. Front sea, next to the restaurants. The problem is the hotel. Built Above two restaurants and in front of many other restaurants, it is vey noise st night. In addition, without air conditioner, in summer as I was, you will be in an oven over 30 degrees. Hot+ Noise= difficult or impossible to rest. It is clean, in good condition, the staff are very kind , but Would I return to this Hotel? NO Would I recommend it? NO

Have stayed here few times over the years with no problems perfect location for when we visit family before Christmas was very disappointed this time round. check in was from 3pm we arrived nearly 10pm got to our room crumbs all over the floor hairs in bathroom tap leaking bathroom floor and shower wet like it had just been used bed looked clean but couldn't tell if it had actually been changed as whole room hadn't been cleaned at all. Went to reception to inform staff who checked us into a bigger room no extra cost this room was clean apart from 2 tiny hairs in bathroom and shower kept cutting out and going extremely hot to cold every 2 seconds. This has put us off from staying here in the future as before we have had no problems at all.

We arrived to find a lady waiting at reception, a sign on the desk saying 'Had to leave the desk for a minute, ring this number in an emergency'. We were then joined by a gentleman that could not get his key card to work, then joined by another couple. The lady first in the queue decided to ring the number (even though we all agreed that checking in was not really an emergency!) and heard that she had been waiting for over 20 minutes! We finally checked in, got to our room to find that we had no TV remote. My husband went to reception, received a remote only to find it didn't work. Back to reception he went for some new batteries. We had just settled for 5 minutes when the fire alarm went off and we had to evacuate the building. We stood outside in the biting wind, 5 degrees temperature for 25 minutes! I know the fire alarm could not be ignored (it was a false alarm) but the customer service we had received was appalling, unlike any other Travelodge we have stayed in. To top it all the mattress was very hard and I woke up with such stiff, aching shoulders that it took two days to recover. We feel that this New Brighton branch need to sort out the staff situation and get their act together!

We booked two rooms for ourselves and our daughter and her husband. When we got to our rooms both were dirty . The beds had been made, and clean towels left. The carpet was covered in bits. A used mug sitting at the top of the bed and hairs in the shower, which we refused to use. We also found a hoover in our room behind the door. We asked to be given new rooms, which they did, but they were only marginally better. I am very disappointed to find this in a hotel we frequently visit.

Shocking noise in the Travelodge room until 2.00am from Marine Street Social, you will hear and identify every track they play. These two businesses are just yards apart across a narrow parade which becomes a drink fuelled playground as customers of Marine Street Social decide to head slowly home.Wirral licencing authorities must have lost the plot when they granted a 2.00am music licence with a hotel just yards away. Check out the Liverpool Echo online to check out the story. Avoid staying here on Friday and Saturday nights at all costs!

Exactly what you would expect of a Travelodge. Unfortunately just a shower instead of a bath (which is always nice to have after a lot of walking). Room looked over towards the Dock area and it was lovely.

This hotel delivers exactly what is expected. The staff were polite, helpful, and the room was basic but clean. The price was very reasonable, and the location ideal. Would happily stay here again.

Stayed her for 2 nts, 13th/14th march, very welcoming staff, room very clean, serious lack of coffee for a brew, only 1 sachet pp, no hairdryer, didn't make the bed up for 2nd nt. But the super king size bed is awesome, so so comfy. Its in a fabulous position, ideal for new Brighton, wetherspoons across the road. Had a nice curry there last nt. The seahorse pub under the travel lodge is awesome. Excellent food and staff, we've stayed here 3/4 times as our daughter lives on the Wirral, i would recommend, and would stay again,

Good location, surrounded by restaurants, pubs, ten pin bowling nearby, cinema, stuff for families to do. I was visiting friends nearby, so stayed here, got a room with view of fort & mersey was delighted. Don't usually stay with Travel lodge, but will be back to stay here again 😊

Where to start with this one. Hotel reception completely devoid of life, had to ring the hotel to get someone to come and check me in. The room was freezing and had no temperature controls - there was a radiator but it wouldn’t switch on. There was also no hairdryer (surely a basic item in 2021), the kettle was brown with tea stains and grime, there was no shower mat provided so I had to sacrifice the hand towel, and the free WiFi was a measly 30 minutes. Stay somewhere else.

Room was small. There's no air con so had to keep the window open but it was very noisy & still hot! The bathroom floor was dirty, the carpet was stained there was something spilled down the bed base. Had to ask 3 times for some mugs. Bedding & towels were clean. Girl at check in was lovely. But the location is great. Plenty of places to eat & drink. Buses & trains go to Liverpool regularly. Would I stay again? Not sure..

Budget travel and budget service. Family break for 3 nights during the Bank Holiday weekend. Busy time and warm for the time of year. Generally clean and tidy. Very few amenities though there are plenty near by. Rooms are small and surprisingly warm. Too warm during hot weather. Sleeping is difficult as it is stiffling. During the day the room door needs to be propped open to allow airflow to cool the room. Two day in, the room wasn't cleaned, the bins weren't emptied or sheets changed. This may be standard practice but it wasn't great. I asked for more bin liners as I took my rubbish to reception and was told I'd have some liners placed outside my door but none were left. For short stays where you need to sleep as a single person, it would probably suit. If you are with family it's a cheap option but likely you have annoyed children and tired adults. I won't be staying here again. It was the last option as everything was booked up or ridiculously priced due to Covid. The area is lovely, the cheap hotel is an acquired taste.

Disclaimer: I love Travelodge. It's cheap, does the job, and is reliable. Can't completely recommend this one, though. I managed to book a room during the Labour Party Conference so was priced out of Liverpool central. No worries, plenty to enjoy nearby in New Brighton. Trouble is, this hotel is located above a bunch of other businesses and I suspect is a refurbishment. Rooms much smaller than normal, bathrooms much smaller than normal, and the rooms were SO HOT. We were in room 123 on a day in which it was 14c as a high and with the window fully open and all heaters competely off we still couldn't get cool. Having a look at the multiplex nearby I suspect that our rooms were located above a hot kitchen. I couldn't sleep with the heat in the room until it was well past midnight. Otherwise it was completely fine despite being small. Can't complain about the free parking! And the beach access is handy, too.

Our overnight stay here was wonderful. Fabulous location right on the sea front and close to nearby restaurants and shops. Fantastic view over the marina and river. To top it off all the staff are very friendly and helpful - even posting my husband's phone charger straight back to us after he'd left it in the socket. Highly recommended.

Very disappointed with our experience. We had to wait to book in and the reception area wasn't inviting. Most times there was nobody on reception and we later discovered they were sitting outside not paying any attention to customers. The corridors to our room had rubbish along them and our key cards took several attempts to work. The room was basic and there were no towels on arrival. The shower curtain was too short for the cubicle and the bathroom floor was awash after a shower. Tea/coffee supplies were not replenished and our room was not serviced even though we left the"request sign" on the door. Very poor!

  • 4/5 David H. 1 year ago on Google
What an amazing location for a Travelodge, our room was on the second floor looking out to sea. The rooms were clean and the hotel had definitely benefitted from a recent makeover, with new carpets etc. There is no service to speak of, the reception was not staffed full time and there is no on site facilities (There is plenty adjacent though). For the price I can't really fault it though and will definitely go back.

The receptionist very nice..chatty and super smooth check in. First floor 112 the room was refurbished. Everything we needed! Bathroom new and clean. The only little thing that wasn’t quite right. The clothes hanging space on the wall is ok for a weekend but not if staying longer.. there is no where else to put clothes. The chair was right under the wall clothes rail so when you hung clothes they rested on the chair.😵‍💫 interior design mistake… It didn’t make any sense plus there was nowhere else for the chair to go 🤷🏼‍♀️ Overall the hotel was great. Right on the beach and next to all amenities and has parking. We will definitely stay again. If the receptionist reads this please can you tell me the name of the air freshener you use in reception! You did tell me but I forgot lol it’s lush…

Hotel is clean and well kept. Car park is very dark and not easy to find at night time. Unfortunately, the hot water in the shower did not work. The receptionist sounded surprised as she explained that the plumber had been around and all was sorted.

The worst four night experience I’ve ever had in any hotel. Upon arrival, we were given a decent room, with a sea view as requested (we booked the large family room for this purpose, despite there being only 2 of us, and we were assured on the phone that we’d have this room for our stay). However we were then told by the receptionist that we would be moved out at some stage because they were fitting a carpet. My sister has mobility issues so we weren’t happy about this. The next morning we got a note shoved under the door telling us to pack our luggage and take it to reception, Why did they sell rooms which they intended to refurbish? We had places to visit so complied with this eviction, and returned to the hotel late that evening. We were given our luggage and told to go to a different room. This had no sea view, and was so small we had nowhere to put our cases. I t wasn’t big enough for a family for sure! It had a double bed + single, with barely 3” between, and the air conditioning (if they had any) didn’t work…it was reaching 96degrees in there! As the double was too high, my sister took the small bed. We slept on top of the covers. At 2.15am my sister shouted for help…the bed had sunk so badly that her feet were in the air and she was stuck! I got the receptionist to come up and the first response was “well you didn’t complain last night”… but we were in another room! She couldn’t do anything other than fold the legs down and leave it on the floor. The mattress had brown marks, the wooden base was sticking through the back! I tried to email Travelodge complaints dept but the Wi-Fi…for which I was charged an extra £12… only worked in the corridor or by hanging out of the window! They said there was nowhere to move us to so would sort it tomorrow. I had to lift my sister onto the high double bed & I sat in a chair all night. I could go on further, adding the mucky shower, no soap dispensers working etc, but I am saving it for the fight with this joke of a company. They are ignoring complaints but I will take this much further if they fail to respond accordingly. We would’ve been better off on a park bench!
