Gorgeous little farm. I always enjoy seeing the animals. This time there was no food left but I can understand that with it being school holidays. I am disabled so can't walk very far so I like that the farm isn't too big to walk around. I'll be back to see how all the animals are soon

Great little farm and I'm surprised that it's free to get in. Good variety of farmyard animals with goata, hens, sheep, rabbits, guinea pigs and pigs! They do ask for a voluntary donation of £3 per family which is minimal for something like this. The farm also has a play park which great for the kids as well as a café.

This is the best farm ever!! They are self funded and work relentlessly for the animals and to keep this farm free and wonderful for all visitors! Even the big kids like us!! Well worth a visit and see how fab this place is! Great atmosphere and theres a lovely cafe too. Good for all ages! 😍

I love this place, as a family it's always hard to find things to do with the kids that don't cost the earth. Amazingly, here is one, and it's not just cheap, it's free! The farm is great, very clean (for a farm). Great facilities including hand washing stations, well maintained bathrooms, good play area. The animals are well kept and appear very happy too. So, long and short, go, support them with a donation (cash), take the piggies some root veg as a donation, or just go and enjoy it. Thanks to all the team/volunteers there.

A good place to take the children and see the farm animals. There is a play area as well. For the more energetic you can walk up Bidston Hill and see the views across to Liverpool.

Definitely worth a visit. Great little cafe. Pleasant way to spend an hour. As well as the animals there's a nice play area for the children. Plenty of outdoor seating too.

This is an amazing farm to visit with your children. Free entry and you can buy ice-cream to support them 😊 Safe for children and I recommend you to visit this farm in a sunny day

It's a cute farm. Not very big and I would've liked a few more animals but I've still given it 5 stars because it's a free farm and it was a nice day out, just not for a full day. They have a park, more for age 4+ but they do have a little slide for younger children. The cafe was good and the staff were super friendly. As with most cafes, not the cheapest but I've been to dearer and there are plenty of picnic benches. Also there are nice walks by the farm so it's a good location for some fresh air.

I've been a number of times with my little girl and my friends kids (aged 2, 7, 10) as it is local to our area. ideal if you are on a budget as its free of charge you can just give a cash donation as you arrive or leave. Pram and pushchair friendly, cute farm animals for the kids to see up close and feed. Even a little outdoor play area for kids and toddlers to play on, cafe with reasonable priced hot and cold drinks (I haven't had any food there myself yet) staff are friendly and approachable.

This Urban Farm is absolutely fabulous! The animals spaces are close enough so you can see them and take photos, some you can feed too. Apparently you can buy feed but we couldn't find where to buy it so just went around without it. There's goats, sheep, chickens, ducks, geese, horses, pigs, alpacas, rabbits and guinea pigs. There were paths and tracks that people with prams/ wheelchair users were able to use. Also, there is a small cafe on site that has such a variety of foods and drinks, ice creams, burgers etc. There are vegan options. Prices are great too! Additionally, next to the alpacas area there is a large playground and picnic area. There were many members of staff (possibly volunteers) that seemed that they didn't want to be there which was a shame. But all the staff I spoke to were polite.

Visited the farm with my nephew and granddaughter. Lots of animals to see and feed. Lovely little urban farm. Had lunch in the cafe at the farm. The chicken soup was delicious and very substantial. Kids chicken nuggets went down a treat. Prices very reasonable. Great little play area too. Staff very friendly.

Tam O'Shanter is a gorgeous urban farm run by a team of dedicated volunteers. It is a gem and such an asset to our community. Surviving entirely on donations, the farm enables people to get outdoors, connect with animals, and learn about animal husbandry. I couldn't praise it more highly!

Although it's quite a compact urban farm, there's a huge variety of animals for all to enjoy. The cafe is a huge bonus. We found staff to be polite and very helpful. Our grandkids love the place, so we'll be back soon.

We took the grandchildren, its free admission, which helps, disabled can park right by the gate, you can buy pellets for £1 a bag to feed the animals, some of them eat from your hands, other have feeding tubes, lovely place, nice cheap cafe too. There are a couple of donation boxes about, I was happy to help after reading about how the farm sustains itself. Great little day out.👍🏻👍🏻

Small farm that is free entry but relies on donations. Animals seem well cared for and content. Café, ice cream, play area. Good for kids. 2 out of 3 of the ladies loos had no loo roll. It was OK and I wish them well and a prosperous future, but it's not a place I'd revisit, nearly gave a 3 star but thought that would have been harsh.

Great little urban farm, free, family friendly and fun. There's a café there too but I didn't make use of it.

  • 5/5 Lynsey W. 2 years ago on Google
Lovely little place to take the family. It's completely free although donations are welcome. Nice little walk around the farm looking at all the animals and you can even buy food for them there and feed most of them. Great new play area with picnic tables and another smaller play area too. There's also a cafe, a little gift shop and a place to wash mucky hands at before you head home. We go most weekends and love it! Around Christmas time, you can also sponsor one of their animals for a year at a bargain price, which makes a lovely gift.

Excellent. Took 2year old great granddaughter who enjoyed seeing the animals and playing in the play area. Loved the slide and tractors. Lunch in the cafe was not expensive and ideal for her. Staff were very helpful and cleaned the tables after use. Would highly recommend and will return.

Such a fab farm. Spent hours there with my son growing up. Now take my grandson and recently took a group of young girls for work. Sue and Will did an amazing job leading us round, craft activities and gave the girls the best time. Fantastic cafe, lovely animals and all ran by volunteers. Would encourage everyone to go and support this amazing place right on our doorstep.
