A stunning place to visit. I am not religious in anyway but I certainly appreciate the architecture and history of this unbelievably huge cathedral. The outside is a sight to behold absolutely massive. The inside is amazing the stained glass windows are breathtaking as is the rest of the place. Well worth a visit

Really lovely Cathedral, felt very modern as it was so clean and fresh. The gentleman welcoming us in was very pleasant, he have us a map and told us which way to go and that if we wanted to go to the top of the Cathedral we could for a charge. We lit a couple of candles and donated some money which was a nice experience. The stained glass windows were stunning, I am sure even more so when the sun in shining through. Very quiet and peaceful. I would definitely say go and visit if you are in Liverpool.

Liverpool's Anglican Cathedral. These pictures could never quite portray the sheer vastness yet tranquillity within these walls. This is one of my special places as it was were I graduated back in 2017. The Cathedral holds different arts exhibitions and events each month. I thoroughly recommend you to visit! The Doves - By Peter Walker. If you don't know, the art exhibition shown above represents prayers floating up to heaven. These were individually written on each dove by visitors, school children and community groups. Messages of peace, hope and love! When purchasing tickets, you are also able to donate towards everything this Cathedral is about. Please do, they do so much for our community and education!

A stunning piece of architecture that stands out along the city skyline and is a tall imposing structure on top of the hill. One of the most famous sites of the city and a nice spot to visit while visiting. The shear size of this building is incredible and will leave you awestruck.

A few minutes walk from the town centre but as its uphill we caught the bus. Very, very imposing building from the outside and simply stunning inside. There are steps to the main entrance so mobility aid users and pushchairs would need to use a different entrance around the side. We walked into a stunning display of paper doves attached to ribbons. The member of staff explained that the staff and volunteers had created this with the help of an artist. There are other doves around the building and also in the everyman theatre a couple of hundred yards away. I was lucky enough to be able to take communion but its only bread at the moment only the vicar gets to swig the wine. From there another guide took us to the ladies chapel which celebrates women who have made lives better for others and contributed to society in many ways. There names are immortalised in stained glass windows. Amazing gift shop. Also a lovely cafe and toilets. A fabulous morning very well spent.

Beautiful and tranquil cathedral. It is huge in size and just feels so open. Great cafe with seating outside in covered area. Has toilets inside. Currently has an art installation which is amazingly beautiful. Peace Doves is a mass participation art project, made from thousands of paper doves, with messages of hope, peace and love. Some of the doves have been curated into the artwork by internationally renowned sculptor and artist Peter Walker. David Harper has composed the soundtrack to accompany the installation.

I came here with my family in mid-March, and it was beyond majestic. Just approaching the main doors you know that what's inside is truly a sight to behold. We spent about two hours just taking in all the awe-inspiring designs, observing all the intricate features in the stained glass windows, and going up to the top level of the cathedral to observe a 360 view of this great city. The World War memorial area was a tearful touch to what must be the most beautiful of cathedrals. Some photos are attached as the testament to the glory of this grand building.

An amazing building and great views if you take a trip to the top of the tower. For me however it just didn't feel very spiritual and once you see behind the scenes going up the tower you realise how modern a building it is. Would recommend a visit as the views were great at the top and easy to access with the lifts and easy to climb stairs.

Beautiful and awe-inspiring cathedral, both inside and outside. More of a tourist attraction than a place of worship - the cafe sits partly inside the main bit of the cathedral with chairs and tables just behind where congregation sits! But making it an attraction means it's very inclusive which I loved. They had some art/exhibitions around the theme of unity which was moving. Some interactive. And the tower experience is well worth the money of the ticket provided you aren't scared of heights or have mobility issues. Beautiful views across the city on a clear day like we had.

Beautiful building well worth a visit. There is so much inside to look at, we saw the peace doves installation which is a stunning piece of work. They also show you how the cathedral was built and how much work and effort went into creating it.

One of the grandest cathedrals I've ever been to. It's a must visit when in Liverpool. When I got there, I only realised that it was very recently featured in Peaky Blinders Season 6—more reasons to love this magnificent place. There's a café located inside the cathedral and it was one of the best features that this cathedral has. It's not your everyday coffee shop view.

Awesome! Having spotted this in the distance from the waterfront on my many visits to Liverpool. I had no real idea of the scale of this incredible building. Luckily in this stay at The Georgian Hotel, I was a 2 minute walk from its location. I was stunned at the colossal building as it towered above the port of Liverpool. I have travelled and this really holds its own against any religious building in Europe. On entry you are mesmerised as you go through the archways and stand in the centre of the cathedral. Beautiful carved sandstone, with delicately shaped swirls and curves. An array of statues representing characters from times past. At every turn another part of the cathedrals intricate design is revealed. Staff are welcoming and happy to chat at length about Liverpool and the Cathedral If you want to be amazed and challenged about architecture pay it a visit. I have added some of my pictures to give you a taste.

The magnificent architecture is awe inspiring. It makes me breathless when I see the size of the cathedral from afar. The whole cathedral is comparable to minsters. The best part is that the entry is free ( unlike most attractions in UK😆). The parking is also free for one hour. But better to check the cathedral schedule before visiting. Some sessions are not for visitors.

Liverpool Cathedral stands as a testament to architectural grandeur and spiritual awe. From the moment you approach its imposing facade, there's an undeniable sense of reverence and wonder. The sheer scale of the structure is humbling, with intricate details that invite admiration at every turn. Stepping inside, the vastness of the cathedral's interior is nothing short of mesmerizing. Light pours in through stained glass windows, creating a kaleidoscope of colors that dances across the impressive nave. The acoustics seem to echo with a sense of history, adding a profound layer to the experience. What truly captivates is the meticulous craftsmanship evident in every corner. From the ornate carvings to the lofty arches, the cathedral is a symphony of artistry. Each element tells a story, creating a living tapestry that speaks to the dedication and skill of those who crafted it. Beyond the physical beauty, there's a palpable sense of tranquility within the cathedral's walls. It's a space that encourages reflection and introspection, offering visitors a moment of respite from the outside world. The Liverpool Cathedral isn't just a place of worship; it's a living masterpiece that invites you to explore its depths, absorb its history, and marvel at the artistic prowess that brought it to life. Whether you're a person of faith or simply an admirer of architectural brilliance, a visit to this cathedral is an experience that lingers in your memory long after you've left its hallowed halls.

Its a great church to visit in Liverpool. We spent around 2-3hrs walking all through the church. There is small mass that was going on on side church which can be visited through the side steps inside itself. There is a paid guide facility who will take us to some of the major points within the church. A brochure and facility to take the ticket for the same is available inside. There is a parking facility aside the church and its charged. Really interesting place to visit and see lot of works done, historic items available in the church

Can’t speak for this place in a religious capacity but as an arts venue it is absolutely incredible! We saw the SPACE light show and it was utterly extraordinary - very well coordinated and run. There are also interesting assorted artworks and useful information displays dotted around the cathedral.

The cathedral's size was jaw-dropping, and I was amazed at it. The entire structure looks mesmerising, and the tower would be the best thing here. A must visit, I would say—just 6 pounds in price but worth the money. Have some good hours, mainly saved for this attraction and experience it.

Liverpool Cathedral is an awe-inspiring architectural gem that should not be missed. From the moment you approach its grand entrance, the sheer magnitude and beauty of this magnificent structure will leave you breathless. The cathedral was a great choice in a sunny day. The architecture is quite stark but the vaulted ceilings are incredible. Went to the top of the tower (for £7 pp) and had beautiful views of the city. Would definitely recommend a visit.

An absolute must visit if you are in Liverpool. It is a magnificent building inside and not as old as it appears. Some fantastic stained glass windows and architecture inside to explore. Helpful volunteers on hand to help you, and there is a guide book avadible in the shop to give a bit more information on the cathedral. The climb to the top of the tower includes a few steps but is mostly by lift, and at the top, the view gives an unlimited view of the city and surrounding area. When you get back down there is a cafe and small shop or you can wonder around again!

Visited here for the first time on Xmas Eve - 24-12-23 for the Xmas Carol Service and had a wonderful evening. Upon arrival I was taken back in awe by the sheer size of the magnificent cathedral. It truly is breath-taking! Once inside, I gasped taking in the high ceilings and gothic architecture as well as the sounds of the mighty organ. It is a sight to behold and the organ sounds amazing! It was very atmospheric going for a service. I had a lovely evening. The Cathedral is absolutely stunning, not just a place of worship and reflection but also in architecture. A work of art and engineering. If you are in Liverpool visiting, do come and see the Cathedral. It is truly amazing!

What a great building, not as old as we thought, but definitely built in a style. Every time we thought that was it, we found other chapels and rooms, alot of history and small exhibits. Very peaceful. We tried the food in the cafe, it was great, well cooked, good portions, real old fashioned chips and good quality.

It was a nice experience to go up the Tower and see the view. It was I think £7 per person. No need to reserve or do advance booking as we just decided right then and there. You buy tickets at their gift shop. You have to climb some stairs but there are also 2 lifts inside going up. We stayed up there for about 30mins. The top isnt that big but you get to see the view (360degrees). My kids enjoyed it. Worth doing if you are in the cathedral. Cathedral itself is free entry and also nice to see inside. It was soooo huge! Staff very friendly too.

The most beautiful, gorgeous, spectacular Anglican church I have ever seen in my life. It is immensely fantastic and moving, I couldn't go up to the tower viewing platform because it was getting very late, but the views from the tower must be wonderful. A church that touched my heart. I recommend this visit to everyone

Absolutely amazing place, we missed the opportunity to go up to the top but would defiantly go back again to experience it. I'd like it if there was more educational points dotted around the place. Or even tour people to be able to answer general questions. So much to take in. The cafe is lovely too, and the parking is pretty reasonable. Will defiantly back

Possibly the most awe inspiring cathedral I've visited in Britain. It doesn't look like much on the outside but inside it truly is breathtaking in ways that are hard to describe. The dark stone draws attention to the stained glass, which truly sing on a sunny day.

My mind is pretty blown to be honest. I’ve stood in St. Peter’s in Rome and it did not have the endless Vastness of this Cathedral. It is a builders wonder, SO many intricate details in the Queens Chapel! So much history and a grandeur unheard of from common masons and stonecutters. Terrific restaurant on site with delicious delectables and the staff… wow, they were amazing, informative and eloquent. True servants of God and mankind. Very sweet and knowledgeable. The bookstore has affordable gifts for the whole family. This Cathedral is well Worth your time and a generous donation.

Went on the Above and Beyond tour and it was absolutely amazing. The guides were entertaining and knowledgeable both about the cathedral itself and the area. We went to many fascinating areas through little walkways and along high balconies. The views of both the city and the inside of the cathedral were fabulous. Was over two hours and it flew by. Definitely recommend this tour and the cathedral.

The first place I visited in Liverpool, just a 3-4 stop ride from the train station by bus. Mind-blowing architecture with a nice and calm environment. We had a warm welcome from some staff and they handed us a broucher. Seem a small gift shop and food donation box on the left hand side as we pass the front desk. The prayer place is just so peaceful and relaxing. Upstairs are accessible but it's paid (have not tried). Time spent- 20-30 minutes (visiting and sightseeing)

Constructed on St. James's Mount in Liverpool, Liverpool Cathedral serves as both the seat of the Bishop of Liverpool and the cathedral for the Anglican Diocese of Liverpool. It might be known as Liverpool's Cathedral Church of Christ. The eighth-largest church in the world, Liverpool Cathedral is the biggest cathedral and religious structure in Britain. The interiors are just stunning. The walls and pillars are beautifully done. There's so much peace and you feel that positivity the moment you step in. I was so happy to see the crib outside and one inside made with handmade cloth dolls. There's a cafe inside. A must visit place when in Liverpool.

Huge, but rather plain. But still worth walking around. Tower tours available, check before going if you intend to do this tour. You are asked for a donation if you wish to go up the bridge. Good views of the interior from here and helps give some perspective on the sheet size of the place.

A beautiful, imposing historic building. Very atmospheric, both inside and out. We arrived when the bells were ringing and standing beneath the bell tower the cathedral really looms over you. The staff inside were very nice and good with the kids - there is something to see for all ages. Outside, the churchyard is quite historic too. You can go up the tower for views over the whole city.

This place is unreal, one of the most beautiful buildings I've ever been in! There were quite a few people inside (lots of school groups) but the atmosphere was very hushed and reverent, gorgeous ambient lighting everywhere, and we also visited the café which was fabulous as well. It doesn't cost anything to go in, but you can light a candle for a donation or put money in the box on the way in/out. The car park is very reasonably priced too! I highly recommend a visit to this stunning cathedral!

Absolutely mind blowing building! A must see when in Liverpool, as it's so gigantic and interesting in architectural features. For £6 adults/ £5 concessions you can go up to the very top of the tower and see the whole 360 degree panoramic view of Liverpool. An awesome site on a clear day! There are 2 lifts, to get you quite a way up, but a short walk up steps needs to be completed, to reach the roof. Believe me the effort is definitely worth it!! There's a café and gift shop on site with a varied selection of items. The cathedral is on the sightseeing bus tour, so definitely worth a get off and visit. Allow an hour or two to enjoy.

Fantastic building. Beautiful architecture. Its a lovely mix of being there for a religious purpose and community hub. There was an art exhibition, gift shop and cafe. Different little chapels and beautiful stained glass windows. Only reason I'm taking a star off is the strong smell of chips. Maybe you can look at the menu and adapt so there's no strong smelling foods?

About a 20 minute walk from Albert Dock. A very impressive Cathedral - Protestant. Cafe and toilet available. Private prayer room, child's chapel. Human Connect exhibit currently on display. Chinese quarter just outside and a nice walk back into the city. Recommend a visit religious or not, it's a lovely Cathedral.

After a long uphill trek, on the hottest day of the year, to the cathedral, we were disappointed to find that the tower experience was closed. We still looked around the cathedral and its majestic. We got talking to an official and he explained the history of the building. How it's not in the original position, how it could've been bigger, and much more. We called again, a few days later, much easier to climb up the hill, and a lot cooler. This time the tower experience was open. After 2 lifts and over 100 steps, we found ourselves looking at a brilliant panoramic view of the whole of Liverpool, well worth it. Don't forget this place does require any small donation to the upkeep. It's well worth it.

Attended for the sound and light performance that was on for a limited time. So glad we went, it was so beautiful and well attended. The atmosphere was amazing and put one in the Christmas mood. This cathedral is all about space and the openness of it is amazing. What a worship space! The staff were wonderful, clearly proud of the building and it’s history. They really took the time to share their knowledge about the cathedral, which brought the visit to life. The stained glass windows are beautiful and although the cathedral can seem more sparse than others that tend to have hundreds more years of history within them, there was a lot to see. The views of Liverpool from the tower are definitely worth it if you decide to go up. The gift shop was lovely, but we can’t comment on the café as we didn’t try that.

We have been passed this Church many times during our visits to Liverpool but until now never having actually been inside. And once inside, like most religious buildings, it is worth seeing, it is big, and and, how can I say this, but I found it sparse. By that I mean there was the beautiful stained glass windows and the amazing alter, but it didn't take my breath away as other Churches have. If you venture up from the city centre then it is a climb to reach the Church so those with mobility problems should bear that in mind. It is a place of worship and not just a tourist attraction, but having seen many Churches on my travels I usually stand in awe at the sheer beauty of such places. On this occasion that awesomeness was missing.

An amazing building from the architectural and spiritual viewpoints. Its size is awesome. Although it's not the largest cathedral in the UK it apparently is the longest. The stained glass windows and other features inside are quite incredible. As well as performing marriage ceremonies the actual reception and meal can be held here and on our visit the dining tables were on view. Well worth a visit.

The Liverpool cathedral is an impressive building. It has displays throughout showing the actual tools used to construct the building. I guess it's the sense of open space and serenity that you can only experience by going there. Plus there are hidden areas worth exploring including a hidden chapel!

Went here in morning during my visit in Liverpool. One of the most beautiful and grand cathedrals of UK. The interiors are stunning. The place is huge and the church is very well maintained. I would definitely recommend this place.

Finally visited this architectural masterpiece. It is an amazing experience both to see it from outside and inside. It is a must see for Liverpool visitors. I am amazed with its size and all the architectural details. I found it great to be able to enjoy a coffee while admiring the beauty of the cathedral with a coffee shop in its main area.

Stunning Cathedral with a great array of modern art. Lovely too have a warm welcome from staff who make the cathedral open to all with only an invitation to make a donation rather than charging for entry. Also a great cafe serving a good choice of high quality food, drink and snacks. Highly recommended to anyone visiting Liverpool

Stand out place to visit if it's your first time in the city. Time just seems to fly by in such a massive peaceful space. Even if you're not religious, this place is awe inspiring. Top 10 must see in Liverpool.

Definitely the place to go in Liverpool. Free and very nice to see. It's huge and even from the outside looks impressive. Entrance is free and 5£ optional donation is encouraged. There are plenty of toilets inside and even cafeteria to have drink and something to eat 😮 you can drink and attend mass at the same times. There was also temporary art installation when we were there.

Lovely cathedral. The interior is stunning. They regularly have exhibitions there. Walking round the exterior is lovely and leads you to St James gardens which are lovely too. Friendly staff and volunteers. The gift shop and cafe looked reasonable.
