Excellent beach to go to play with the kids and go for a stroll. Walking to the small islands is both fun for the kids and nice for adults. Nice place to vie the sunset. The nearby place for water sports seems fun. Not so crowded and nice friendly people around. Recommended.

Beautiful beach. Spans far. Watch the tide. I think it can be pretty easy to walk to far out. Parking can be difficult... There's shop's near for snacks. And a Morrisons I think. Clean and tidy .

Lovely long beach with beautiful views over to Wales. Fanstic on a lovely day. It is possible to walk to Parkgate and West Kirby along the beach (at correct tide times). Accessible from Wirral Country Park via steps or from Dee Sailing club via a road/ramp. Car parks available at both places. There is also a nice cafe at Wirral Country Park.

Lovely place to visit. Lots of nice places to eat and parts to visit. Night or daytime. Amazing walk around the Marine Lake too. Obviously check tide times to be safe. Ample parking too.

Great for a walk around the marine lake (1.5 mile loop), a stroll on the beach, finding crabs in the rockpools or the walk out (and back) to Hilbre Island. On the Hilbre Island walk you regularly see seals and other wildlife. Just make sure you check the tide times with the RNLI. There is a kiosk for refreshments and a morrisons supermarket behind the marine lake. Also there is a great fish and chip shop a short 5 minute walk away (behind the morrisons on the row of shops).

Went on an impromptu day to the beach. Googled "sandy beach near me" and this is where we ended up. The tide was out, way out, so we never got close to the sea but we were happy to play on the huge expanse of clean sand, then did a bit of crab fishing off the pier on the sea lake. We utilised the public toilets, which were spotless, and the ice cream shop. Construction of a new promenade, with flood defences and seating, was underway and I was very impressed to see that the new tar surface has been treated - which is better for the environment and reduces the ambient air temperature as well as making it more pleasant on bare feet to walk on on hot days.

Great beach to take the kids, feels good safe and very easy to find a parking spot, unfortunately the times I have came the sea is out and walking 45mins to the sea is abit long other then that great fun clean tidy just overall a great beach no stones to hurt your feet.

Chose a time when it's low tide and you can enjoy a spectacular walk across the sands to Hilbre Island where you'll see an abundance of seabirds and seals. Binoculars recommended.

Brilliant beach with varied wildlife. Wading birds, skylarks, shark/skate egg cases, molluscs/shells. Lighthouse end is also very interesting. Walk to Hillbre islands was well worth it.

We really enjoy coming to this amazing beach, I have family that live close by so whenever it's a nice day we take the dogs down to the beach to play. Really open and clean, we always enjoy an ice cream afterwards too.

Loved the place, best for walk on the pitch road next to the lake, very clean water and sand. Here and there Kids playing in sand or catching crab/shrimps, place is so big hence we didn’t feel overcrowded even in a sunny Sunday. My family absolutely loved this place. If you already explored Formby and Ainsdale beach then me recommendation is to visit this place. From Manchester for a day trip this perfect 🀩

Huge beach and Marina area. The tide comes in incredibly quickly which you need to keep an eye on but the RNLI are on patrol to ensure people don't get stranded.

A popular stopping point on the Wirral way. There's a great picnic area near the visitors centre with tables and benches. The centre itself is closed during the Covid-19 lockdown, but people have restarted walks along the way and the beach. Popular with cyclists. Nearby Parkgate has famous ice-cream parlour that's now reopened.

A beautiful place my late partner introduced me to some years ago. As I don't drive, I took the plunge and went by train - so very easy from Liverpool Lime Street station! Just a few moments walk from the station to the sea front. A wonderful place to sit and relax and take in the views! And if you fancy a walk over to Hilbre Island make sure the tide is out and what time it comes back!!

Small narrow beach (at high tide) along the town, but a lovely grassy area a bit further to the right beyond the beach. Interesting feature: two piers at each end of the town go into the sea for pedestrians to reach a laguna they can walk on from one pier to the other pier when the tide recedes or is low. From the promenade it looks like they're walking on the water. Marina with sail boats. Wouldn't want to go on a hot summer day, as parking would be impossible. There's a Morrison's supermarket with toilets right next to it but the queue builds up quickly. Take away snacks, hot drinks and ice creams between the beach and the supermarket.

Nice and clean but found it a bit boring , nowhere to stop and have tea and cake or food , only one place to go . They need more things of interest to bring you to it . Peaceful and plenty seating .

Great location, free parking and you can walk to Marigolds Fish and Chip shop and then be on the beach in 5 minutes enjoying the view and of course the fish and chips. A good place to relax and clear your head and take in the sea air.

If you want a lovely quiet place to go for a walk along a beach then this is the place.. it's not a resort, no hot dogs or candyfloss. Just a part of the Wirral, Where the mouth of the River Dee yawns.. car parking is easy and it's only a short walk to the beach. So if you either want to see and look. Walk or Beachcomb then this place is highly recommended

Perfect place for a day out. Take a 30 minute walk around the marina or beach, then pop into the town for a pint, meal or cafe. Good rail link to anywhere on the Wirral or Liverpool. It's possible to walk out to Hilbre Island from here at low tide.
