Stunning sandstone rock on Thurstaton common. The whole area is brilliant for walking with beautiful views of the Wirral and across to North Wales.

Great views and a good mix of both trail and rocky paths. Not paved, so probably not wheelchair compatible! Plenty of space for dogs off leads!

Great to relive my teenage years with the scouts. We used to play wide-games all over this area. Lots of lovely walks with loads of pathways to get you lost on.

Always a great place to bring the grandchildren when they are visiting as they love to climb to the top. I've been visiting here and the common and Royden Park for well over 50 years and it never fails to impress.

First time here in almost 40 years, a lot smaller and less intimidating to walk over than I remembered, but a great place for the kids to explore...

Great place to walk to! Park in Thurstaston common and there is a relatively easy circular trail for everyone (even dogs) that takes about an hour and a half. Thor's rock is right in the middle of the walk so great for keeping kids entertained. As they can climb and carve their names into the rock. Make sure to pack wellies though as it can get muddy! Only dropped a star because there are next to no bins available on route, so you have to carry your rubbish with you

Smaller than expected but kids had fun climbing to top, unfortunately quite a lot of dog poo about and rubbish ruining the scenery

A nice walk, not difficult, and Thor's Stone is worth a scramble.

Interesting landmark. Lovely walks all round. Take water with you though. And snacks if the family are going for a while.

I took the kids here (2 girls, 1 boy, all between 7 and 10 years). They all thoroughly loved exploring the area. We checked out Thors Rock and pretended we were back in dinosaur times by playing amongst the ferns. Plenty of fun with a free car park on Telegraph Road

Great place to enjoy the view over the water towards Wales, or enjoy a sunset if you time it right. Dozens of pathways to explore, with sandstone boulders to clamber over. Take a coin with you to scratch your name into the rocks.
