There's more to this place than meets the eye, although you do have to pay to enter the visitor center and the exhibits beyond the ruins and parkland are free to visit. The trail along the river is fascinating, passing locks, a lakes, and several ruined cotton Mills. Having said that, it is worth paying to enter and seeing clips of history through reconstructions in relocated buildings, which are very well presented.

Loved this place! From the ancient ruins to the lovingly restored houses and farm buildings. Would recommend. Dog friendly, even near the farm animals! Lots for children to do too. Worth a visit! Lovely walks there too that are free to use. Just the village museum that has an entrance fee!

Fantastic place that takes you back in time, super educational for kiddos but also interesting and full of fun- the maze, animals or the playground did the trick. The Abbey is worth visiting. There is a walk you can do to see all the Mills but due to a bad weather we opted out. Small gift shop, cafe and little snack place selling ice cream is enough to provide refreshments and souvenirs. Worth investing £1 in a big map. 👌 Downside is a very small car park that gets busy quickly. We had to find alternative place to park the car.

Went to greenfield valley park on such a lovely day the weather was perfect for a nice walk , there is so much to do and see , there’s a place to run around and a picnic there’s lots of places to walk around there a lovely cafe and as you walk a bit there’s a little hunt that does drinks and snacks , theres a part you can pay to go in where there is an old school and information on what use to be there . There’s a lovely play area for the kids with plenty of seating areas and there is also 2 parking areas , we go there a lot there’s so much to do and there’s loads of events on throughout the year .

Wonderful place for children, lots to see and do, quite educational. Unfortunately on our visit no displays were on so we just looked around the buildings. On the outside there is a lovely old Abbey that is free to view.

I'm gutted that I didn't know of that place sooner! Didn't do the whole experience but will definitely go back and visit the whole park. Children and dogs friendly, very well kept plus the person who works at the gift shop is knowledgeable and lovely 😍 lots to do and see if you love history and nature

Have been twice over the last two weeks, have bought a season ticket. My grandchildren aged 8 and 4 both found plenty to keep them entertained. The cafe is good and offers children's snacks and meals, which are reasonably priced.

A trip down memory lane for me today by going ’home’ to where I grew up. So much has changed in the past 15 years but, seeing Basingwerk Abbey just brought back so many happy memories of playing and climbing the walls when I was younger. Yes, back in the day kids played out and did dangerous things like climb old buildings and trees. Very happy to see it again and wish I had more time to explore, but that will be for another day. Go and visit though as there is so much more to see and do.

A lovely place to visit. We had our lunch here when we walked this part of the WCP. Very well kept, clean area to sit and enjoy the surroundings.

Grand children aged aged 7 and 9 thoroughly enjoyed 4 hours here. Ask at the check-in for free "passports" in which to collect embossing stamps as you go round. There's a woodland walk, a maze, historical bits, a few farm animals (pigs and chickens when we went), play area (with water!). Deffo worth a visit on a dry day.

The amount of times that I have driven past this place and thought I must do that one day. Well that day finally came and I wished I had done it sooner. There is a free car park, it's dog friendly and it's a good way to explore one of the many fantastic places in North Wales.

Hidden gem found by accident. A little imagination will give you a fully operational mill as there remains enough structure and equipment to picture it in your head. Information stations gives further information too. Nice cafe at the bottom of the hill too and is dog friendly

Fantastic experience for adults and kids. They've done really well to gear the history into kids activities. Very impressed 👍

Excellent place to visit, has something for everyone. Lots of paths, woodland walks, great for dogs. Lots of waterways with birds and nature. Absolutely steeped in industrial heritage with plentiful industrial archaeology abounding. Mills, millpond and mill wheels. Historical abbey ruins at one end, with St Winefride's Well at tother. Free car park with disabled parking bays. Museum, information boards, maze, trails, carved sculptures, play area. Great café near the abbey which I can heartily recommend for its food and homemade cakes. There is also another ice cream kiosk which also caters for pooches by selling doggy ice creams. Enjoyed this place and would revisit.

Fabulous place for a few hours out with the family, lovely little museum and gardens to explore as well as interactive bits for the kids. The maze is always a hit and the pigs, ducks and hens are so funny to watch. Brilliant play area for little ones to burn off a bit of energy while the adults can enjoy a coffee and snack from the hatch. Then you can wander and explore Basingwerk Abbey ruins and the entire length of Greenfield Valley too 😊
