Of
course
its
a
bucket
list
course
and
so
the
butterflies
were
definitely
around
on
the
first
tee.
As
soon
as
you
glimpse
the
iconic
club
house
turning
off
the
main
road
it
brings
a
smile
to
your
face.
We
were
met
at
the
door
by
Ian
who
was
rapidly
enthusiasic
to
show
us
round
and
talk
through
some
of
the
previous
Open
final
round
moments,
it
really
built
the
excitement
ahead
of
going
out
trying
to
do
the
course
justice.
Certainly
for
me
Birkdale
showed
me
its
teeth
and
risk
reward
holes
took
their
toll
as
I
was
drawn
in.
It
is
a
fantastic
design
and
weather
was
a
huge
factor
making
relatively
easy
holes
punishing
in
place.
Despite
not
posting
a
decent
score
I
thoroughly
enjoyed
the
round
and
left
wanting
to
come
back
to
test
my
skills
once
more,
surely
the
sign
of
a
great
course.
Condition
as
expected
was
very
high,
the
greens
were
lightning
quick
and
required
a
great
touch
around
the
greens
if
chipping
in.
Seldom
will
you
see
a
club
house
so
full
of
silverware
and
you
could
spend
hours
just
walking
through
reading
about
all
the
collected
memorabilia,
a
real
treat.
